Mario Kart is one of Nintendo’s biggest and most beloved franchises, and there’s absolutely no doubt that we’ll see Mario Kart on the upcoming Wii U. Mario Kart producer Hideki Konno recently said in an interview that Mario Kart for the Wii U would use the console’s unique features to bring something new to the table. He said:
“I can’t get into specifics, but I do want to create a new and enjoyable Mario Kart that uses the unique functions of the Wii U”
The Wii U featured an innovative touchscreen controller, in addition to supporting regular Wiimote and nunchuck peripherals. It’ll be interesting to see how Nintendo implements the new controller with Mario Kart, considering that the Wii U only (officially) supports one touchscreen controller.
