There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the Wii U name and Nintendo’s choice. But Nintendo remained firm in its selection and confirmed at E3 that Wii U is the final name of the company’s new video game console. By now most people have accepted that fact and the Wii U name has grown on us, just like the “Wii” brand years ago. But if you’re wondering where the name came from, the above SpongeBob video might be an indication. Apparently, Sponge Bob’s friend Patrick predicted the Wii U name a long time ago. Just kidding! But it’s still quite fun — it’s SpongeBob after all.
