Little Inferno coming to Wii U

From the developers of World of Goo, adventure game Little Inferno is coming to the Wii U later this year.

World of Goo developer Tomorrow Corporation has revealed their latest title, Little Inferno. The game is described as an adventure game that takes place entirely in front of a fireplace. Little Inferno will be released later this year on the PC, Mac, Linux, and the Wii U — the Wii U is so far the only home console to get the game. It’ll be a downloadable title via the Wii U eShop. Players can already pre-order the game on the official site for $15 and receive early access to the beta version, plus a copy of the soundtrack as well. The first teaser trailer for the indie game shows its distinct style, clearly inspired by World of Goo.

    Here’s what I wonder about. All of these indie developers are coming out of the woodwork in support of WiiU bringing software to the eshop. Is there something that we are missing here? There were rumors that Nintendo had meetings with Google awhile back and I’m wondering if the WiiU has some sort of custom Android OS. Rumors were stated recently that 512MB of flash RAM was being dedicated to the OS alone and if that’s true, that isn’t a normal video game console style OS then.

      That’s flash storage. The OS is supposed to be huge compared to anything else seen on a console before. Such an OS would probably take up a decent amount of RAM as well. I agree though, that this does sound like Nintendo is making the smart move and allowing developers easy access to their console especially in the download scene.

      the controller is a tablet so of course there gonna have tablet style games and tech

    I’m definitely curious. World of Goo was pretty morbid in its own rite and this is looking to take that up a notch. I’ll have to see some gameplay before I buy though.

    Looks like an interactive Tim Burton film. Even for a downloadable indy title, I’m sure that some would give it a test drive. It’s OK for me, but I’m not screaming for joy either.
