New Super Mario Bros U won’t be launching with the Wii U, according to a Nintendo spokesperson at Comic Com. IGN grabbed a video of the game in action on the show floor, and the Nintendo rep is overheard saying New Super Mario Bros U is “coming out for Wii U not too long after launch”. At E3, Nintendo announced New Super Mario Bros U as a Wii U launch title. However, Nintendo some times defines “launch title” as “launch window”, which can be anywhere form two weeks to two months after the console hits the store shelves.
Other launch titles from Nintendo include Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land, and Wii Fit U. Third parties will be bringing titles such as ZombiU, Assassin’s Creed 3, and Batman Arkham City. We’ll have to wait for clarification from Nintendo regarding New Super Mario Bros U, and what they define as “launch” versus “launch window”.
