EA Sports will be bringing Madden 13 and FIFA 13 on the Wii U, and possibly more titles in the future. According to producer Matt Prior, the FIFA 13 Wii U version will include some “key graphical improvements” compared to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. Speaking to the Official Nintendo Magazine, Prior said that overall, the Wii U version is on par with other consoles, but added:
“We were even able to make some key graphical improvements. We focused on areas that would have the most impact on the game.”
Prior also revealed how the FIFA 13 Wii U version will utilize the new GamePad tablet controller. Players will be able to do tackles using the touchscreen, to pass the ball, shoot, manage the player squad, and shoot free kicks and penalties with more accuracy. EA Sports has previously said that they’ll be using the GamePad controller in innovative ways that improves the gameplay. EA Sports will also be bringing Madden 13 to the Wii U, and there are rumors that the upcoming NBA Live 13 and NHL 13 will find their way to the console this year. Other confirmed sports games on the Wii U include NBA 2K13 Pro Evolution Soccer 13.
