Mass Effect 3 Wii U screenshots

EA just wrapper up their Summer Showcase and announced that Mass Effect 3, Madden NFL 13, and FIFA 13 will be Wii U launch titles. The Mass Effect 3 Wii U version will include the extended cut ending, and it will also feature an interactive, comic book-style back story that lets gamers in on what happened in the previous two Mass Effect games. Not only that, the interactive story will allow players to make decisions that affect their game in Mass Effect 3, just like players of the previous two games did.

Mass Effect 3 Wii U

EA also released the first Mass Effect 3 Wii U screenshots, showing the game in action for the first time. You’l find the screenshots below, including a shot that shows the GamePad tablet controller in use. Mass Effect 3 will launch with the Wii U later this Fall.

Not exactly showing alot but Awesome.

    • Alienfish

60fps or no sale, I didn’t buy on the shitbox or ps3 because of crap fps, dont want origin spyware either, so I do want to finish off the series but do it right nintendo

      • Someone

The legend Of Zelda Orcarina of time runned in n64 with
only 18 fps, and it’s a very good game, also this is a port,
but if were a wii u original title it could run faster.
I dont care about the fps, if there no slowdowns is good,
for me 30 fps to 60 fps is a good framerate for the present game titles.
Also, Nintendo don’t developed this game, EA developed it, so ist the
        Ea cause, not Nintendo cause.

        • JumbleJingle

What the hell are you smoking?

          No N64 games run a 18 fps.

          • NiNtEnDoLoVeR

Well OoT didn’t run at 30 FPS.

  • Raul

I watched the conference that EA held today on IGN and my god… It was atrocious! I was hoping for some Wii U news other than what was expected. It was a massive let down and many IGN users shared the same sentiments :/

    • dex

But come on…! Now you can have a zombie from “Plants versus Zombies” in 3d! And it talks and dances and… Ah, nevermind. Yeah, it sucked.
EA’s “realistic” engine that they use for the latest sports games – which is just the same game, but with an added 1 – is about as realistic as a crash dummy simulator. Hate how they always makes out everything they do as the best, when really, they are in the bottom. Fucking EA.

  • Captain Falcon

Even though the Gamepad isn’t being used to its full potential, the game still looks impressive!

  • Not Important

While I will not be getting Mass Effect 3 on my Wii U (Already bought and beat it on my Xbox), I would like to point out that the use of the controller looks very helpful. When I was playing as a Vanguard I felt like I had to choose between pull and shock-wave when mapping my skills to the three buttons. Based on the second screenshot it seems that with the Wii U version I could have had my cake and eaten it too, by mapping them all to the touch-screen. That would have been a lot nicer than yelling “pull” at my Kinect (something that barely worked half the time anyways).

  • Carlos Hugo

Great, now I can buy an x box 360 and play ME1 and ME2 on it and wait until the Wii U to play ME3.

Now, lets get serious, if you wanna do this Bioware ( or EA), do it well, ME Trilogy for the Wii U, sell me the entire franchise/history/game, not jost the ending.

    • dkrumble725

Impossible. Microsoft owns the rights to the first game. If you remember, it was Xbox exclusive.

      • The Wiitcher

Demiurge Studios developed the port to the PC and was published by EA. So unless EA made a deal with Microsoft that the first game was only allowed on Xbox 360 and Windows, EA can do what they want with the game.

It probably boils down to money. The original games was probably developed around the Xbox 360 hardware and would be too expensive to port to the other consoles. The PC port didn’t run as well as hoped.

    • icanseeu

Why not buy them all? I bet you could get them all cheaper the what the WiiU version will cost!

    • Marmor

The first 2 games come in form of interactive comics. Like the 2nd game for PS3 had an interactive comic of part 1.

  • XDLugia

Nintendo should make their own exclusive military FPS like the competition so the ‘hardcore’ gamers would have a reason to play this machine. I mean, FPSs are everything these days, and Microsoft’s future consoles will sell like fresh baked bread because they got Halo.
Sony has one recent called Killzone, but hey, at least they got one!

Of course Nintendo veterans like myself will buy the system for games like Zelda and Pikmin, but there are a lot og people who does’t care…

PS: Don’t come to me with Metroid and Conduit. Conduit is SEGA’s brand, and Metroid is NOT a military FPS.

    • NameUcanthate

ZombiU is really good for fps. Black ops 2 is coming in better quality and cheaper DLC on the Wii U. Nintendo has a large fanbase. let trolls be trolls. we dont need their support.

    • XDLugia

Hey guys, why the thumbs down?
If I missed anything, then tell me!

    • alex

Sony have one ? Am a nintendo fan since 85 but i like the ps3 and killzone is from the ps2 and the trth killzone is way beatter tha halo anf COD this is not a new game sony also have recistens but you are right nintendo need some exclusive M games i will love to see metriod dark a metrid version raf M version with more acction and more killing more fps style to kick halo ass

    • alex

I like the original metriod and the prime series i just saying it will be good and when i say killzone is from the ps2 am taking about the first one …i know tha kz2 and 3 are ps3

    • Wii Uoops sucks

Go home or go big! ;*

    • BOSSMX

Sorry to dissapoint you but Nintendo clearly stated that they wouldn’t be doing any “Call of Duty” type games themselves.
      They said this on E3.

  • gPadWatcher

The photos of Mass Effect 3 for the Wii U look extremely promising. The maps, inventory, etc. on the Game Pad are simply amazing and extra features show great potential. Love to see the game (powered by Unreal 3) in action before the Wii U launch.

  • Jump&Shoot-man

I agree with you carlos hugo I too didn’t get ME1 or 2 and I too would like to get a Trilogy but, eh I dunno seems like a waste.

what they really need to do is make some megaman dlc like x collection all these new first person shooters can’t touch the good old jump and shoot days lol

    • Ashi

      {{!!!!Mega-man Mega-man!!!!}}
You have to run to the right to continue!!
      Lmao

  • Pokemon Master#1

    Wait, no Need for Speed.

    • Wildman

I personally want NFS on Wii U.

    • gearchin

you mean burnout?, that NFS looks like a paste and copy of burnout. NFS:most wanted, has much of the gameplay from burnout, would have loved something close to the Original Most wanted.

  • smashbrosfoeva

    that looks too awesome

  • Christopher

Looks amazing and I’m glad that I pre-ordered the game for the Wii U

  • Paul

looks great but if nintendo and ea can do a deal with microsoft and get a trilogy of all three games for £40 ill be happy as played this game on ps3 and its great but ending sucks

  • Hi8us

Games like mass effect and ninja gaiden won’t sell well on wii u because they were already kind of bad and got mediocre reviews. Of course people will take this information of poor sales and come to some skewed conclusion about wii u rather than the bad games themselves.

  • PKUltima

I’ve heard so many good things about this game, seeing as I haven’t played it yet I will definitely be getting this for the Wii-U.

  • that guy

still looks like Direct X 9 but this might just be showing off the differences in game play and not the final version graphics, which is most likely the case because Nintendo doesn’t want Microsoft and Sony to see the graphical capabilities of the Wii U.

    • Wildman

It looks pretty good for a launch game. I mean, take a look at the PS3/ 360 launch games (some looked good, and others look like upscaled PS2/ XBOX games).
