Skyrim developer still unsure about the Wii U

Bethesda wants to release their games on all platforms that support them. Which still doesn't include the Wii U...

Developer and publisher Bethesda, best known for the recent hit Skyrim, are still unsure about the Wii U. Bethesda Vice President of PR and marketing, Pete Hines, said that they like to put their games out on “as many platforms that will support them”. However, when it comes to the Wii U, that apparently still isn’t a platform that will support their games. Speaking in the latest issue of UK tech magazine MCV, Hines said of the Wii U, “So far the Wii hasn’t fitted into that [strategy]. Skyrim Wii UWhether Wii U does down the road is TBD”. This is an odd statement, considering that the Wii U, technology wise, offers the same features as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and is a much more powerful console with twice the memory. Not to mention the possibilities the GamePad controller could bring to an RPG such as Skyrim.

Almost a year ago, the very same Pete Hines said that Skyrim on the Wii U was “definitely a possibility”. And even earlier that year, back in June 2011, Hines claimed that Bethesda would support the Wii U if it was powerful enough. It’s been proven that the Wii U is more than “powerful enough” when compared to current generation hardware. It looks like Bethesda has few intentions of supporting the Wii U, if any at all. Which is a shame — they make some great games.

Around the web
  • I WANT THE F**IN WII U NOW!!!

damn that does suck, eh i wouldnt of ppicked this up anyways

    • nintedward

      nintendo does not need skyrim.

i will personally just upgrade my PC or buy a ps4/720 to play ‘secon fiddle’ to my wiiu .

in other news ”Zelda wiiu IS NOT coming to the 720 and ps4 ” :/

      • AKA-Link77

        YAH!
        Zelda over Skyrim-job ANY DAY!

      • Your Mom

thank u we all know that Zelda is a nintendo exclusive

    • liberalagenda

      They don’t make, then I don’t buy.

I will not buy the next xbox or a ps4. I’m only getting a Wii U. So their loss. It is no sweat off my back

      • nintendofreak

true i have played the oder older scroll games n yes they r good but after like 5 hours of wandering around and leveling up ones get feed up ( especially in morrowind) but still really goood but not good to buy a ps4 or 720 (especiallly since d prices dey r projected to be sold at)

      • Watch_Dog

Why not get both. If affordable and reasonable that is.
They’re talking about a reasonable excuse. Wii U might not be able to support it. Which begs the question, is Wii U really next gen quality. Maybe in most aspects, but apparently not all. We’ll have to wait to find out.
And Wii U might not have all the games, other consoles might have good games. Not everything is about shooters. just because Nintendo doesn’t have it, doesn’t mean it’s a bad game.

        • Meelow

Hey Watch_Dog, if you read the whole thing Bethesda also said they are unsure if they want to support the PS4 and Xbox 720 as well, not just Wii U.

      • Enigmatic

The PS4 and 720 aren’t even out yet, fanboy.

        • liberalagenda

I don’t have a PS3 or a 360 either. So I would have to buy a PS4 or 720 to support current gen games. I wouldn’t buy current gen systems because they are on their way out and will be old/outdated/obsolete technology really soon. It would make no sense to buy a game system now just to be replaced within a year, which is why I advocate companies to port their games over to the Wii U.

Call me a fan boy. Call me closed minded. Call me whatever. But I am only going to buy one system. And if other companies are not going to port over their games…well, I just won’t buy them.

          • Kyron

            Spoken like a true gamer.

    • AKA-Link77

Yah. I dont blame them for thinking that way just cuz of the Wii but it is kinda pathetic to think that considering Wii U is waaay more powerful.
      (· _ ·)

    • toonsha

really? they have problems getting dawnguard on the current ps3. don’t think hearthfire is coming either… wiiU is the least of their problems. If they really want to make games for all the consoles out there, start with fixing the current issues. I won’t be surprise if bethesda games become xbox exclusive in the future…

I’m just bitter… I want dawnguard and hearthfire on ps3!!!

  • Bill

Skyrim is not a good game, people mistake size for quality.
The game is buggy, has an annoying inventory system, and a annoying combat system. This is why I play Zelda over Skyrim, Its not as big, but much, much better.
I don’t care if Bethesda can’t be bothered to release Skyrim for WiiU. They dont make ‘fun’ games, which is reason I choose Nintendo, because they don’t care about anything else apart from it being fun. Which is the point of games after all.

    Peace
    x

    • relo999

+1 quantity is far from quality.

    • fedster

im am not saying skyrim isnt better than zelda or anything like that at all. but u have to give skyrim some cedit, it was a really good game. its a sand-box game so in retro-spect quantity is almost quality, and there r many other aspects of it besides qantity that make it great

      • raph

No but really theses guys are dumb, just imagine the inventory on the wiiu gamepad !!!! jeez

    • PKMNcharizard1995

You couldn’t be any more correct my friend.I agree with you.Nintendo doesn’t need that overrated sack of crap:Skyrim.Bugthesda games always has glitches, always needs patches, and always make you take your money anyways,so honestly who cares right?

      • Gabe Hoffman

Usually Bethesda’s games tend to have bug problems on PS3 since they make the majority of their games with Microsoft platforms in mind. But this does not make much sense I mean Wii U is more powerful then PS3 and the architecture is supposed to be similar to the 360.

        • PKMNcharizard1995

I know right? They really don’t have an excuse.Skyrim on Wii U,I actually would have got it.But since it’s not coming to the Wii U,Bugthesda could go screw off for all I care.

    • rafael

I think Skyrim is largely uncreative and i dont have time to play huge games that dont offer a constant stream of interesting ideas…that being said, i like the idea of exploring a huge enviroment with freedom and i hope the next zelda recaptures some of that, as it was the case when the series started on nes

    • NoPUNintendo

I agree. I’m a huge Elder Scrolls fan. But really if their future games are like Skyrim I’d rather not play it. 5 months of Skyrim, and there’s nothing to do fun on it.

    • Zeta

I would partially agree with this, Skyrim is actually good game and although not all quantity equates to quality the game is made better by its size, after all all the mechanics of the game are very basic (combat, exploration etc), if this game wasn’t made really huge it would have been much worse.

While i did play Skyrim, albeit on PS3 i enjoyed it mostly because i love open RPG games but it really struck home that the game was lacking in intricate features, it was big but not mechanic expansive and even the main story was really short and i really hated the fact that though dragons were praised to be so strong there were many stronger opponents in game (even when compared to the blood dragons), guess that was necessary though to ensure enough dragon souls but still -.-.

Now of course if you ask me which game i liked more i would answer Zelda without hesitation but Skyrim wasn’t a bad game at least not for me.

      • rafael

Thats right, my dissatisfaction is with this ‘simplistic mechanic’ of the game that you mentioned, because i think it gets repetitive and makes me prefer to invest my little time in games that offer more diversity :/
(but i gotta admit: those mountains and forests exerce some attraction on me)

    • Steahl

*cough* Skyrim and Skyward Sword are NOT comparable, yeah they are both… “open-world” games, but that’s where the similarities end… That’s it. So comparing either of them is actually kind of stupid. It’s like comparing a bicycle to a spaceship…. Any way, the bugs aren’t that bad, the combat system is pretty good game and the inventory system works fine.

If you’re going to bash something, don’t pull your arguments out of your ass. Both of them are good games. But sadly Skyrim is just above the game in terms of my favourites.

      • lethaltoconcrete

Which one of them is the spaceship? I wanna play that one!

  • swic11

Bethesda is a lazy developer. They cant even release downloadable content to the PS3 because Skyrim was an unfinished product for the PS3 when it was released. And its STILL buggy. Sounds to me like they want to wait until other developers to create the install base, so they can just cash in whenever it makes the most business sense for them.

    • Macarony64

Im whit they sound lazy they make great games but full of bugs a new console could have meant fixsed version of fallout 3 , vegas and skyrim but they are to lazy imagine a fallout collection that included fallout 3 and vegas goty on wiiu whit fixsed buggs it would have sold like hotcakes on a snowy morning

    • MujuraNoKamen

“Sounds to me like they want to wait until other developers to create the install base, so they can just cash in whenever it makes the most business sense for them.”

yep, very true. To say that they’re “still unsure about the Wii U” is a very misleading statement, there isn’t a quote from Bethesda saying that they don’t like the console or anything remotely like that, all they’re saying is (like you said) they’re being lazy and waiting for others to create an install base so they play it can safe and cash in later. They’re not developing any titles because the customers will be divided between Wii U and current gen consoles. LAZINESS!!!!

  • Seth A Drekin

Skyrim was such a let down..

When you one shot the first dragon you see, and can fight, something is seriously wrong with your RPG about dragons…

  • WiiUser

Hmm…this is not looking like the Wii U is getting the 3rd party support and titles I was hoping to see ported over. I was thinking about getting the Wii U but now I’m leaning towards a new PC build.

    • AcesHigh

No 3rd party support? Assassin’s Creed III (port), Batman Arkham City (enhanced port), ZombiU (exclusive), Rayman (exclusive), Aliens Colonial Marines, Tekken (enhanced port), Ninja Gaiden III (enhanced port), a traditional Madden 13, Lego City Stories (exclusive). Of all the console releases I’ve seen in the last 25 years, this is by far the most diverse and full. Even moreso than XBOX and PSX of either generation.

These are all out the gate and the system isn’t even released yet. Not every 3rd party publisher is going to invest $$ in making games 3-4 years in advance of a system’s release – for many reasons. Some because they want to wait and see (like Bethesda), some because thier portfolio of games development was already full, some because their budgets for this release window was already consumed and some because they’re just not interested. But mostly because of former; wait-and-see and the timing of their game development planning won’t allow for it. Give it time. More 3rd parties ALWAYS jump onboard after.

      • Britton

        Well put man.

        • AcesHigh

          Thanks Britton!

          • Watch_Dog

You sound like the perfect gamer, who takes everything into perspective. One question, you don’t like just one company and instantly hate or trash the rest right? It good to like all. each company will have good and bad games.

    • JC

Now you dislike the wii u?! Well I m not going to tell you how to spend your money but dude you are gonna miss one of the best consoles ever !

  • Lexi565

Bethesda USED to be a good dev up till the Elder scrolls 4 that was the first sign there going down hill morrowind was great even if the combat was more about hidden maths then skill, but i think after the Wii u is released they’ll see the oppertuinty and release skyrim with all the DLC thats out at that point maybe, maybe not who know either ways its not a loss to The Wii u if they dont, Still got Zelda (well eventually) and Metroid (If at all) to look forward to and thats not counting the 3rd party Ip’s that are already on the Wii U

    • AcesHigh

Good way to look at it Lexi!

    • Britton

Are you implying they may not ever make a Metroid game for the WiiU? I would think that is a given. Of course there will be a Metroid game for the WiiU.

      • Zeta

Of course, the gamepad can be seen as being made for Metroid, also none of the 3 big IPs will miss this console.

Though Nintendo have said that they will keep down the 2D Mario titles to one per system from now on, which is good.

  • RockD79

The only reason I have held off from buying the expansion packs was for a possible Wii U version. Bummer.

  • Nintendo Power

Well at least we have Zelda.

  • AcesHigh

For anyone who IS a Bethesda fan, this article really doesn’t reveal anything negative – or even juicy – at all. Relax… They are just taking a conservative wait and see approach. Afterall, this is really their first outing with their major franchises on a Nintendo platform. Remember, the WiiU is the first platform that is technologically comparable to Sony and MS’s current platforms since Bethesda really broke through with their flagship IPs such as Fallout and Elderscrolls. Of course they aren’t going to commit right now. They really don’t have a relationship with Nintendo yet aside from a couple small releases on Wii. But we all know, and it’s common knowledge, that the WiiU is going to be a port-haven for titles on current-gen systems and we also know that this console is going to sell like gang-busters once it comes out. It’s just really a matter of time til the bean counters at Bethesda can confirm that the install base is there to see a huge profit in, at least porting, a few of their large franchises.

The justification they need is to see a 1. a large install base of WiiUs in consumer homes and 2. a large number ports of other more adult-oriented games from competing platforms ported to WiiU AND enjoying financial sucess. With the WiiU launching alongside games like Batman, ZombiU, Assasin’s Creed III and a Madden 13 that is not dumbed down or cartoonized, Nintendo is already taking the right direction out the gate to attract 3rd parties like Bethesda. Some companies are just conservative in their approach to new consoles (Bethesda) while some are agressive (like UBIsoft).

BTW, as a fan of the new Fallout series, I can totally see the new control pad as almost being MADE to be a Pipboy. It will happen!

    • Britton

      Well said… again.

    • Golden Fox

Yeah I hope Fallout 4 makes it to the Wii U!

  • nintedward

    this news doest mean much.

its like saying ”bethesda doesnt plan on making any 3ds games”.

yeh , about that . i dont care because the 3ds already has an amazing library and is recieving all sorts of support.

the wiiu library will be different , but awesome.

i’d take a bag load of ATLUS rpg’s over any skyrim game any day of the week .

(yes i do comment a lot , get over yourself. i use a PC everyday of my life almost. and i am a huge fan of nintendo . sorry if that doesnt match your criteria)

  • papa pachter

Wow u lot are dumb to diss a game with a big base of followers

    • Nintendude

So now Pachter’s dad is trolling us?

    • NavyBlueYoshi

prtty sure NINTENDO has a bigger base of followers…
      Right guys? :D
And FYI, Practically no one dissed it, we all just brushed it aside and simply did not care. If skyrim does come great, if not, whatever

      • Macarony64

        Blue yoshi 4 president

        • NavyBlueYoshi

That’s navy blue to you ;D
vote for me and together, we can banish the pach family! :D

    • Zeta

lol and i would say you’re dumb put that comment there on a Nintendo site.

  • Josh

The has enough games for me to enjoy. I have my Pikmin 3, Project P-100, Rayman Legends, Batman Arkham City so I am happy. And that’s just at launch.

    • Josh

      *The Wii U

  • SouthUrPark

pete hines will jizz in hiss pants and make exclusive games after zelda is released and who ever read that article knows why

  • Benjamin

I finally just started playing Skyrim (on Xbox cuz Ps3 version is broken) and I think it’s the best game ever made thus far. It has its fair share of flaws, but I find it enthralling. I really don’t know what they could’ve done with it to make it better. I am a Nintendo fanboy, though I’m not really bothered by this. I have to say that Nintendo will do just fine w/o any 3rd party support, though it would be preferable.

    • Kyron

I think Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the best game ever made.

      …but that’s just my opinion.

    • Kahhhhyle

Dude they absolutely NEED 3rd party support. Or else it’ll end up just like the Wii did gathering dust on gamestops shelves cause there are no new releases. Zelda and Mario are fun. But we need call of duty and bioshock and fallout. THAT’S what will move systems in between the marios and Zeldas

  • LogicalDude

I wouldn’t mind a new Fallout game on the Wii-U. You can use the tablet as a PipBoy! Hate to say it but I would forsake the PC version for the Wii if it could do that. Also, any game that has customizable weapons where you can take components off and equip other ones by sliding them around on the tablet would be sweet.

    • NavyBlueYoshi

      Tank tank tank?

  • Hi8us

Every 3rd party that decides not to support Wii U now, will regret it later. Developing games is a very expensive business. If you think 720 and ps4 will be pumping out games like water remember when ps3 first came out. Yeah, exactly. Support the Wii U now… it’s the middle ground many developers will be flocking to in the future.

  • ConCity Soldier

They also said that they aren’t sold on next gen consoles needed to be released. I read somewhere else that they feel that 360 & PS3 can still be pushed & holds up just fine. So, I’m guessing eventually they have no choice but to start developing for next gen consoles in the future, the Wii U will get support probably when all 3 next-gen consoles release.

  • me

How could the Wii U not support this game. If ps3 and xbox360 can, I see no reason the Wii U can’t. They are just being lazy. They can keep their game for all I care. I would rather have the Zelda game that was brought up on this site anyways.

  • Mac

skyrim wouldn’t be on the wii u because skyrim and zelda are similar which means they will have to compete with another game on the same system and they know that people will pick up zelda instead of skyrim in a heartbeat. my personally don’t like skyrim it looks stupid but it is a system seller which i have to admit.

    • NoPUNintendo

You really can’t compare Zelda to Skyrim, or any Elder Scrolls game. Ones an RPG. Ones more of a story game. Yeah yeah get mad at me for saying that people, but Zelda is a story game pretty much. That’s why I love Zelda. The stories are amazing.

  • blinder2

What ever Nintendo do how ever powerfull and unique Nintendo Wii u is they cant win, unless these so called game companys have a really big differnce in graphics they cant cope with it,they need massive specs to carry on they need a new games console every 5 years to carry on with new games, i think thats how it is its like euorpean sports cars they can get the same mph out of say 4.0lt as an american sports car that has 6.0lt.i think you no what i mean.MY personal view is this company cant handle the gamepad, anybody can make a better game just by having a lot bigger graphics card, then selling it a lot less than what it cost to make.

ps i but all three game machines

  • Stavros

Guys, remember that Bethesda Studios (the developer) is building only the Elder Scrolls series and the Fallout series, and they release a game each 3 years. They released Skyrim last year,so probably by the time their next game will be out, PS4 and xbox720 will be out already too. They already said that their next game won’t come on this generation of consoles. I think what Pete Hines means is that they don’t know yet the power of the PS4 and xbox720,so they can’t say if WiiU will have similar power to them.

Btw,I wish Bethesda (the developer) decides to support WiiU either way. The publisher part of Bethesda doesn’t only own the Bethesda studio which makes Fallout and Elder Scrolls, but they also own id Software (guys who made Wolfenstein,Doom,Quake,Rage series),Arkane Studios (guys who made the Dark Messiah,Thief,Dishonored series),plus they own the rights to the Prey series, and a rumor say they also bought the rights of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. These are too many series to be missing from WiiU!!!

  • Fallingdown

I cant believe how people are blowing this out of proportion.

Bethesda means that its going to wait and see if the Wii U sells before investing in it. They said this about all Next Gen consoles. Smart business decision. Nothing more nothing less.

Anyone who takes this as “Bethesda not supporting Wii U confirmed” need to work on their reading comprehension skills.

    • Zeta

Its more of a change in era compared to previous times as before less developers took that wait and see approach in terms of a business move, they either put their games there or they didn’t, for some it just seems like too much business methods are invading the game world, which is what happens when it starts to get really lucrative.

      Also shows in game quality.

  • multimidgetkingjacob90

i dont care i wasnt realy a fan of skyrim a few friends of mine have it but i’m not a fan of it and i will still get Wii U

  • NaX

It would be a shame if no support even if i don’t play skyrim ,but i got a couple games im looking forward too on the wii U, Batman, AC3, Tank Tank Tank, the new mario game, zombiu, Scribblenauts, maybe Lego City and i hope black ops 2 comes out than i will have time before the next smash bros game comes out :)

  • NintendoWizard87

I don’t understand why so many people are hating on one of the best rpg action games ever released?! Who cares if it makes an appearance on the Wii U? Most of us own at least two platforms if not all of them, so, just buy the games you want for whatever platforms they get released on! It’s not that big a deal really… However, the gamepad would work wonders for the inventory system, applying potions or selecting spells etc. I think eventually, when Xbox 720 and PS4 are finally released, all these rumours of magnificently powerful consoles will be history. I honestly dont think they will be THAT powerful in comparison to Wii U, considering they will have to be affordable in today’s market. The gameplay on the Wii U will be far and away the best this coming gen, and the only thing that will stop Nintendo taking the hardcore this time is the developers willingness to try something new, to think outside the box. Nintendo have always been the best, not always the most powerful, but isn’t gaming about the experience? Now that the Wii U has more than enough power to deliver amazing looking games that are FULL of innovation. So get the F**K on board devs, gamers around the world will thank you and you know what? You might actually make a game that changes the industry, starts a new genre only possible of the Wii U? Someone needs to move the industry forwards, someone other than Nintendo for once!!

  • Madmagican

I guess Bethesda is joining ranks with Capcom; heck, no sweat off my back, Nintendo has plenty of variety in gaming

  • alex

Guys you now what ia going on all this 3parties are afraid to invest money and dont get it aback cuse wii nintendo fans dont care about how big or bloody or matures or good that games look wii are all about fun …chalenge and inovation it easy for them to doit on 360 wich have all ready retarded fans and sell copys thatvtry somthing new i have this game on ps3 iand i dont like it its wors than fall out the only good thing is online and the dragos that look dam good

    • nintedward

”Guys you now what ia going on all this 3parties” hate to be a Natzi , but seriously ?

    • PKUltima

Uh, sorry but Skyrim doesn’t have online unless you’re talking about mods. I am a fan of the Wii, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t like bloody games, I actually own a lot of them. Guys, we all say that us (Nintendo Fanboys) are the most respectful and mature, but why do people keep on calling Sony and Microsoft fans retarded? I don’t like the Xbox 360 because of pay to play online and RROD, but I don’t go out of my way to. bash them. Seriously, don’t call people retarded, that isn’t nice. Also, not to be a grammer nazi, but could you check your spelling?

  • nintendoododo

1s that developer idiot? I want skyrim

  • power of life

skyrim is a good game after all but if the devulpoers dont wanna bring the game to the wii u then its their proplam and we cant do anytong about it so

  • B4short

Who cares most their games lock up or crash or don’t work at all (ps3 skyrim)

  • Some gUy

I love skyrim, I would still love to see it with touchscreen integrated.

  • Guhtere

What ever. It’s already on other consoles. You can just buy it for them.

  • Shankovich

Easy there guys, you omitted the parts where he said he’s unsure about developing for ALL next gen consoles, since it splits audiences. Understandably, there is no base on Nintendo since they didn’t dev for the wii, but don’t make him sound so bad, we don’t want to seems like a fanatical site that everyone will hate -_-

  • Joesatmoes

zelda is anyway the skyrim of the nintendo world. not developing this game is their loss. i just wish rockstar would not think the same way. i really want GTA V on the Wii U! They would be pleasing me so much if they made it for the Wii U! and they even put the development of GTAV has been taking “longer than expected” and i hope its becuz they’r making a wii u version

  • Opheodrys

This news bores me. Just think, this time next week there will be a Wii U news extravaganza!

  • Kahhhhyle

This is what I was worried about. Wii U NEEDS the third parties and Bethesda is a VERY important one. I already played Skyrim so I don’t care about that but What about fallout? One of my favorite game series ever? Nintendo needs to get them on board before they end up carrying their home console on their own AGAIN. And btw comparing Skyrim to Zelda makes no sense they’re 2 completely different games

  • Wii U Gamer#19

Man, i still can’t Believe Skyrim being a crappy game as it is, and it beat Legend of Zelda Skyward for Game of the Year 2011 :/

  • Lusunup

They can shove that arrow to there knee for all i care.

  • TheUNation

Screw Skyrim!!!! I’m looking forward to Zelda for the U in ’14!!!!!!!!

  • Ledreppe

It’s just console snobbery, frankly the Wii U can survive without snobs like this.

  • The Plague

Guys, over at IGN I saw what is really going on here: The Headline matched what this site says BUT there is a Skyrim expansion trailer. If the headline was “See the Skyrim trailer now” it would have had FAR fewere clicks than if it had a Wii U tag, good or bad. They are merely using the popularity of the post-launch Wii U links to get people to come see their trailer for their lame game.

  • logan7699

they could not make a good ps3 version..and its a more powerful console..all there games have major bugs..they need to work on one system so they can make a solid game…

  • Nintyfan

LOL Are you kiddin me? THERE GAMES ARE ONLY NEEDED ON MICROSOFT AND SONY FANBOYS!

WE GOT DA ZELDA SUCKAS! XD Even Patchers agrees

  • Nintenerd

Well when the Wii U outsells the competition 3-1 in the current and Next gen systems we’ll see if they change their tune a little since Ninny’s install base will dominate everyone elses just like with the current Wii

  • Collected

Hopefully the Wii U sells great over the Christmas period with all of the games filling sales expectations, then Bethesda might be motivated to port Dishonored onto the system. Hopefully this happens, because the launch date of Dishonored for the PS3/Xbox 360/PC is quite close to other 1st party exclusives, and 3rd party titles, which means it will have initial heavy competition. If they then port over to the Wii U in 4-5 months then it will be at a time still in the Nintendo launch window and will possibly draw more notice.

As for Skyrim, I doubt we will ever see it on the Wii U but am hopefully for the Elder Scrolls VI, or a possibility (however unlikely) of The Elder Scrolls Online.

  • leo

Well we got ZELDA so yeah we Still win

  • ei8bitNinty

This is more likely one of the innovative game for the WII U. Technically they can used the GAMEPAD to their game for innovation like for inventory and magic touch chanting on it. hehehehe. Too bad but don’t care at all. Zelda is coming.

i’ll give all kinds of credit to Bethesda for being honest and they are still respected as a unique developer to me… i know that there will be all kinds of amazing games and maybe a bit of shovelware too. i appreciated some shovelware just due to minor innovations or even because a game like Jeopardy or whatever was overlooked but cause my friends and i long, sleepless nights of fun… Nintendo = Fun!

Skyrim developer still unsure about the *PS3. There fixed. They wanna make games for consoles that are easy to make games for. Lazy devs.

I really can’t see why Bethesda won’t support the Wii U. The GamePad has a plethora of possibilities. It would be nice if the Wii U fits into their “strategy” sometime soon, but if not, it’s their loss. I’m not going to go buy a Xbox 360 just for Skyrim.

Basically, he just said: “We were going to support Wii U, but then we took an arrow to the knee.”

Clearly, the reason there are no plans for the Wii U is because they are moving forward with next gen hardware instead of porting year-old games to previous gen hardware that hasn’t yet been released and still doesn’t have a clear online plan at launch to support their online ambitions.

Bethesda’s snubbing should turn on the lights for Nintendo that they are launching a last-gen console in 2012.

    Bethesda are dumb.

Good on Bethesda! They aren’t sure yet (honestly I think they’re waiting to see the way it sells and how many people who have a Wii U will buy their games on it instead of on PC) and aren’t saying anything until they have something fully decided.

Let’s face it though – Fallout and Elder Scrolls will sell on the Wii U, so they’re just bidding their time before announcing that it’ll be on there.

What is to think Bethesda. It is twice as more powerful than the 360 and ps3. Please put this game on wii u. Imagine what you can do with the second screen. Dishonored and Skyrim are perfect games that would make wii u the most selling console.

It makes more sense to work on a new game, like elder scrolls 6 to be on wii-u. Although Skyrim was an awesome game, I look forward to a new game for wii-u.
