THQ Wii U games revealed via ESRB ratings

A few days ago, ESRB leaked that Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 was coming to the Wii U, and now the outfit has revealed two additional Wii U games. They’re both from THQ, and they’re both in the casual genre: Jeopardy, as its name suggests based on the popular TV show, and Wheel Of Fortune, based on another popular TV show. Looks like THQ is trying to get the most out of its licenses from the aforementioned TV shows. Both games are also listed for release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but no release date was mentioned. THQ will release Darksiders 2 to the Wii U later this year, and the publisher is rumored to bring the upcoming Homefront 2 to the Wii U sometime next year.

Not a big fan of games based on TV shows, but as long as any company bring games to the console along side well known games then its always a good thing :)

    • dr scoobie

      let the shovelwares begin!

      • nod786

No not really … they’re are going to be a certain percentage of these types of games on all Consoles and if you really want to take a deeper look I bet you that their are more games of this type on the PC or smartphone devices. Just as long as they keep bring well known names and games to this new console I like many others won’t care if a few crap games get in … also one mans junk is another mans treasure not saying I like these games but they will be people who do.

  • Lamsaturn

I like Jeopardy, but it sounds like another cruddy shovelware game. I don’t think I’ll bother with either of these.

    • nintedward

indeed. the wiiu looks to have completely fixed the ‘shovelware’ debacle on wii. the launch line up is chock full of high quality big name games.
even the party games arent shovelware.

but i agree a small amount of shovelware is cool for some casual gamers as they shouldnt be excluded from owning a console by having no games that interest them.
if you gotta spin the wheel , you gotta spin the wheel – that’s what they say.

in terms of hird party support and way smaller unnoticeable amounts of shovelware it’s wiiu >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>wii .

      • multiconsolero

Man YOU ARE FANBOYING AT EVERY ARTICLE:
        1. LAUNCH LIMEUP IS POOR THE “GOODIES” ARE OLD GAMES
        2. AT EVERY NEGATIVE NEWS YOU SAY DOESN’T MATTER

        • Opticine

This is a Nintendo website, we all like Nintendo. So you can get out, while we get N.

        • nintedward

pikmin 3 , zombiu , nintendo land , Rayman legends , NSMBU , lego city undercover , project p-100 , Game and Wario , (the big launch exlusives)

          AC3 , Batman ACAE , Mass Effect 3 , Tekken Tag , Tank tank tank , Ninja gaiden 3 remake , Dark siders 2 , Fifa 13 ,

and many others i calnt be bothered to list.
the wiiu launch is probably one of the best launches ever. if not THE best.

there isnt any bad news for wiiu. i dont care how it compares to a ps3 or even a ps4. it shouldnt even be compared to them. its not about specs , its about exclusives , IP’s and innovation .

now , the tiny amount of shovelware that has been anounced hasent even made a scratch on the games listed above , and the upcoming games quality.

also , yes i am a HUGE nintendo fan . thats why i am wiiu daily anticipating a brand new nintendo console. which to me right now is just to exciting. so exciting infact , that every day when i am at work i am looking at news and commenting on articles.

get over your self , what are you a perfect xbox mature businessman fan ??
          no you’r a D-bag .

          • Wii U Lover

same with me :) i check this site 2 times a day :)

        • Shankovich

Who shoved the stick up your ass?

    • nintedward

      i am a ‘Nintendo Fanboy’ . i still have a ps3 and a gaming pc etc etc .
its just i seem to be most excited about nintendo. i am sorry i calnt help it , as that is what i genuinely like and enjoy.

in other words you are a huge walking cok breath .

  • Lamsaturn

Also, I just noticed the picture: Turd Ferguson? That poor, poor man…

    • Mechadestroyah

It’s Norm Macdonald as Burt Reynolds on SNL.

    • theaquacharger

      It’s from Saturday Night Live.

  • Mechadestroyah

LOL that picture from SNL, Turd Ferguson. I really hope for Homefront 2

    • D00d

Ahhh man I loved that segment of SNL, it used to be on youtube but might have been taken down. Still, it was hilarious!

  • Wiiunicycle

    cool

  • XDLugia

    Umm… awesome?…

  • maveric-hunter

    Turd Ferguson!!! seriously turd ahahaha-hahahha

  • nod786

But saying that and thinking about it there is one TV show if anyone has seen it will be a pretty good port if its done right.. total wipeout imagine that game but with a online factor so you could have 4 or 5 people playing against each other in real time trying to get the best time and so on. Just one of many games ideas from me XD

  • Nintendofreak

Well it happears d wiiu is finally getting some shovelware

    • nintedward

as long as it stays a tiny unnoticeable amount. i am happy.

i don’t want to have to dig through shovelware in gamestation to find a copy of muramasa this time XD .

      • TheBoldman67

Yeah, Wii may have been my favorite console last gen, but there was WAY too much shovelware, I’d spend hours on sites looking up games JUST to make sure I didn’t get more shovel ware. Thank GOD I won’t have to do that with Wii U.

        • XDLugia

          You don’t know that… YET.

  • JC

Jeopardy? Hell no, homefront 2? F’n YES!!!!

  • wellsberg

my ideas for Wheel of Fortune
Person with Tablet gets to be Pat or Vanna. Playing as Pat you’re able to stop the wheel when you want to and molest the female contestants(jk obviously)
Playing as Vanna you already know what the sentence or word is and you get to turn the tiles and do different poses. The mic on the tablet could be used to prevent you from helping your friends and you’ll be labeled as a cheater if you do.
Person with wiimote using motion plus to grab the wheel and spin it at whatever speed they want

    Jeopardy
using the tablet to write your name and final answers and to buzz in
    Competitive High Scores List online
Use the tablet to put your face on the character
If you get a negative $ amount there could be a mini game where you run away from Trebek’s henchmen like The Simpsons episode

  • zonda777

    We must be getting closer…

  • GirlGamer

    good

  • Nintendoro

Nah! Not what I expected from THQ. Maybe for casual gamers, not me. I’m out.

  • Zhenya

Question: What’s shovelware? I have a good idea but i’m still not so sure

    • Mr.Chimera573

“Shovelware” are those games which you have to “shovel” through to find things you actually want to buy, generally because they don’t get bought because they are generally not very good.

  • SteampunkJedi

I won’t get these games, but the more support the better.
And Turd Ferguson? That can’t be his real name, can it? I feel sorry for him. It’s either a nickname or he had some very cruel parents.

  • KINGTENDO

NINTENDO IS SO SMART.WHY COMPETE WITH OTHER CONSOLE’S IN THE POWERFUL SPEC’S RACE?IF SONY AND MICROSOFT KEEP BATTLING TO MAKE THE MOST POWERFUL AND EXSPENSIVE CONSOLE’S,THEY WILL MAKE THERE CONSUMER’S WANT TO BUY COMPUTER’S INSTEAD.

I LOOK AT IT LIKE THIS…IF YOU MAKE A GRIZZLY POWERFUL CONSOLE YOU WILL ONLY BE MAKING A POWERFUL COMPUTER,THEN YOU WILL FORGET WHAT MAKE’S A CONSOLE A CONSOLE AND WHAT MAKE’S A PC A PC…..

SO NOW NINTENDO HAS BECOME INNOVATIVE AND MADE A NEW LANE FOR THE GAMING INDUSTRY TO CREATE GAME’S AND DO BATTLE WITH CELL PHONE GAMING AND I PAD’S.

    PERFECT MOVE NINTENDO….

  • Macarony64

This is good news now instead of me buying the console ill be my mom so ill be saving money 4 more games

  • Kamon

If Reggie talks about this for more than 30 seconds on the 13th i’m gonna throw my computer out of my window.

  • Happy Mask Man

Seriously! Sports Party Champion, Wii fit U, Nintendo-Freakin-Land!!! This is exactly what is wrong with Nintendo. Don’t get me wrong, big fan since 1986, but, but, but… I can envisage a time where people are just using the Wii U controller without the TV to play App style 2D “Life Coach” shovel ware titles. I love Nintendo games, but despair at their direction these days!

  • ThatBoingGuy

    The shovelware begins .___.

  • revolution5268

    i want a jeopardy game…with nintendo characters.

  • metroidfusion2

Ha ha I knew homefront 2 would be coming to the wii u and the wii u will crap on this gen and next gen

  • Lugo

Haha, I loved Sean Connery in that SNL skit. He’s hilarious.
Sean: “Uh, yesh, I’ll take anal-bum cover for $500.”
Trebek: “It says ‘An album cover’, Sean.”

Anyways, even though I don’t care for shovelware, I’m sure there are some people out there who’d love this stuff. Homefront 2 would be great, too.

  • Doopliss

    well, as nod786 said, more games, better :}

  • LordiMcKill

I don’t know about Homefront 2, didn’t Crytek state that they ain’t working on a Wii U game but some other developer is?

    • theaquacharger

Homefront isn’t Crytek. Homefront is THQ.

  • Infinite_Rubix_Cube

I’ll take “The Rapists” for 600, Alex

  • Frefre

You forgot “metro last night”, a game showed during e3 in 2011 that is supposed to launch in early 2013…

  • Purple3DSXL

Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 seems interesting. Darksiders 2 might be a good buy as well, but I’m more looking forward to the first.

  • Christopher

I’m hoping Homefront 2 becomes a reality because I enjoyed the first game and playing it on the Wii U would be awesome.

  • Zapuskat
