A recent EA event in Europe gave gamers a chance to play upcoming Wii U games such as Mass Effect 3 and FIFA 13.

Dutch gaming outfit Tweakers got a chance to play some Wii U games at a recent EA event in Europe, and they got some off-screen footage of the Mass Effect 3 Wii U version. The video gives a good look at how the GamePad will be used, what kind of features players will have, and on top of that, the game itself looks very smooth.

The video also gives us a glimpse of FIFA 13 on the Wii U, and some of the new features the GamePad offers, such as managing the squad, setting tactics, and more. Check out the full video below.

    Is there any confirmation of the use of 2 gamepads for FIFA multiplayer? If not, seems kind of pointless to me because only one player will be able to experience the gamepad.

      Probably the frame rate and latency lag would be the main reason in them not implementing two controllers. its actually quite a task for the wii u to stream HD on both screen at a nearly flawless manor. its probably possible, but hard

        wiiu can stream 60 fps with a wii u gamepad, pro controller, a wii mote AND a 3ds as a controller.

        The Big N has announced that if you play with two gamepads the game will run at 30 frame rate maximum. And it is good enough.

        I understand that they’re intending to implement 2 gamepads later down the road. I like to play FIFA locally and it would put the player without the gamepad at a slight disadvantage. I’ll probably wait for FIFA 14, assuming that they’ll be implementing 2 gamepads later on.

          As a very enthusiastic Fifa player, i would say trying to implement touch pad controls would hinder, not help, against someone using a pro controller.

      There is a interview with EA on Eurogamer and CVG confirming only one game pad can be used. The interview also confirms that the WiiU version is based on Fifa 12 not 13 and there are loads of features missing compared to the PS3 abs Xbox 360 versions.

        No that’s with the Wii version (not Wii U version) for Fifa 12 there basically just re releasing Fifa 12 with the number 13 instead. Madden for Wii U won’t have all the features but i haven’t heard anything of such for Fifa 13

        Omce again if you didn’t get it through that thick head of yours this is as of now I’m sure more games will run in native 1080p they just have to be announced just like how reggie said there is more 3rd party games to be announced on top of the 50+ games that are already on the wii u if you check wikipedia you can see all of the games that are on the system or that might be coming to the system as of now there are 65 retail games and 20digital download games which means 85 games and there’s more to be announced the wii u is the ultimate consolr stupid ass kids these days lol

          The only games that will run in native 1080p are 2D/ 2.5D side scrollers and wii ports. Even Nintendo themselves have said ALL first arty titles will be in 720p… they have done that for a reason.

          Meh i left out a few download games, and sacrib nauts… but my main point still remains, you will not be getting ac3 or any openworld game in 1080p native on the wiiu.

          as a side note: Im not a child, I work over 45 hours a week… If you have been researching all hours god sends good for you but I have to work, the WiiU isn’t my life!?

          Oh and lego city has a COMEDY amount of pop in too, the wiius cpu will not favour half as well as your making it out to in open world 3D games (especially next gen). Just wait till the 18th when someone opens it up and brings you back down to earth. Nintendo cant sell a machine with a screen on the gamepad that also runs demanding open world games at 1080p for $300 AND STILL MAKE A PROFIT, which they have confirmed (and rightly so!).

    I normally don’t buy EA Sports games (Especially Fifa) because I don’t agree with their licensing, but hey, this one looks pretty good. The added controls look perfect and intuitive, and the graphics are stunningly realistic. I like the extra camera tilt, which I can see being very nice in game-play, and I can see myself spending hours online.

    This Fifa game stands out for me.

    Wii U is a nice idea, but I’m pretty sure a FREE bit of software called XBox Smartglass will render the Wii U obsolete. No new console or proprietry gamepad required…

      Laz, Smartglass is a copy of the gamepad, and can’t do anything the Wii U can with the new hardware and controller. Besides, XBox is still just as expensive without buying a tablet on top of that to support smartglass. Alot of video game players are either kids or are poor(me usually). Maybe once they sell the 320 GB Xbox 360 w/ a tablet for smartglass, and a kinect sensor, for $350 bucks, you will make sense(at least 75% right). Oh ya, and one game for the regular controller, and one game for the Kinect would have to be included. Until then, I’m moving on to the better console available, that obviously a better value, can still play every game you ever want in a back catalog, free online unlike XBox, a Mii social network(surprised Microsoft never copied Sony with PS Home), and there will be a reward program for the eShop, unlike Xbox Live Marketplace.

The next console for Xbox is a straight up rip off, and if they do include a game pad like the Wii U, that shows they can’t make anything original. Kinect?
