New Sonic & All-Stars Racing Wii U trailer and screenshots

Newest trailer showcases some of the new game modes, including up to 10 players in online multiplayer.

SEGA has released some new Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Wii U media in the form of brand new screenshots and a new trailer. The screenshots showcase some of the playable characters and levels (and the new vehicles), while the trailer shows us some of the new game modes, including online split screen, and “battle arenas”, where the there are more objectives than just winning the race.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will support up to 10 players online in the same race, and will feature racing on land, water, and in the air (and even in space!). The game will be a Wii U launch title on November 18, 2012.

    What are you guys on? I’m sorry, but I’ll agree Sonic games in general have been pretty bad for quite a long time, but this game wasn’t developed by the guys that made those Sonic games and it shows. Sumo Digital has made games like Outrun, and this plays very much like it.
    
    The speed, balance, track design, graphics, and online were all better in the last version of All Stars. I thought Mario Kart Wii was a train wreck when it came to most of those catagories. Seriously makes you come off like you never even played the game.
    
    Liking Mario Kart personally a little bit more is one thing, calling All Stars shit is something else entirely and makes you sound like an uneducated fanboy.

ALL it means is that the number of pixels on the screen is 720p or 1080p. This game is HD, as are all Wii U, PS3, and 360 games.
  
  Plus, this is a sequel, not a remake. It’s coming to the other consoles, too. Wii U has unique features that will set it apart from the other versions.
  
  And, technically every gaming innovation ever made was a “gimmick”. The NES’s + control pad was a gimmick that changed gaming forever. The SNES’s diamond face button layout was a gimmick that EVERY console now uses. The Nintendo 64′s analog stick was a gimmick to get people to play 3D games. It’s rumble was a gimmick that no controller now would be complete without. PS1′s Disk Drive was a gimmick that changed gaming from cartridges to disks. Wii’s motion was a gimmick that made many games quite fun, and made shooters actually better. Many games had individual gimmicks, like targeting or camera control, that has shaped modern gaming into what it is. So, saying that the gamepad is a gimmick should actually be taken as a compliment. Especially since the other companies are already making their own answers to the gamepad (PS3/Vita cross-play and 360 Smartglass). If you would support those, then hate on the gamepad, then you are a hypocrite.

From what I’ve seen of this game on wii u, the frame rate is lowsy. It was sub 30 the entire time and struggling to keep up. I’ll need to see a reliable demo to consider buying this title

The blurb at the end of the trailer shows that the game is for everything except Wii U. I know it’s coming to Wii U but this is not the trailer for the Wii U version. At a guess the graphics are from the xbox 360 version.
Yeah I got the first sonic racing game and went through all the tracks once and never picked it up again. Was very disappointed with my purchase and am unlikely to risk it again unless Sega can prove to me they have fixed their level design and control issues.

It looks ok. I’m not going to get it, but I hope every one that gets it does! Sega should just make the new F-Zero game like they did for GCN, so I will be happy again… haha. Seriously though, that was the BEST F-ZERO EVER, in my honest opinion. You could tell it used Monkey Ball’s engine, and they pulled it off extremely well. Or at least one of their games. Nintendo might not want anyone else to make F-Zero this time, because it’s been so long since their last one. Mr. EAD is waiting for you EAD!

Nintendo should find other developers to make their new games. At least in some cases like, because it would give Nintendo more time to make other new IPs, or focus more strongly on other games, like a new Super Mario Galaxy or something of that nature. They could buy some time using this strategy…

Looks great-it will hold up until Mario Kart Wii U. But even then-it will still be played by me as well, because it looks quite different, in that all the tracks are a proper blend of land water and air. BTW, has anybody seen some of the gameplay? It’s almost like there are three different races merged into one!

Am i missing something, the footage is not from any particular console, and at the end there isnt even a WiiU case showing it will be available. So the title is very misleading, it isnt a WiiU trailer at all, its just a game trailer…
