Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Wii U trailer

SEGA shows off Wii U specific features of the arcade racing game in a new trailer.

Another day, another Wii U launch trailer. Yesterday, we saw the Mass Effect 3 Wii U trailer from BioWare, and now SEGA spoils us with the launch trailer for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for the Wii U. It showcases pretty much everything we’ve seen so far of the arcade racing game, and it’s still looking like a fun title. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of the exclusive Wii U features, and shows how the GamePad will be used in the game.     It is logical for Sega to put Sonic in a kart for these racing games. Why would Sonic want an unfair advantage with his super sonic racing speed. The only logical thing for Sonic to do is slow down a little bit and give the other racers a chance. Would you want to race Sonic in a kart while he was on foot; I think not!!

  In terms of how graphically powerful this will be on Wii U I can almost grantee you that it’s a plane port. Of cause it will have the Wii U features shown in the add but there not going to do something like run to Unreal to re make the game for a multyplat. At the most they may re-render the resolution without changing the textures but I wouldn’t bet on it.

I was hoping more for a Diddy Kong Racing style, where you pick your vehicle for the race and the maps are designed for all, rather than the karts morph, but I guess it’s in the title..

I would get this game… but… I think Nintendo Land, NSMBU, and Batman ACAE will be enough for launch. I’ll just wait for Mario Kart U.

Man so many games so little time. If I wasn’t going to pick up Assassain’s Creed 3 first I would buy this one in a heart beat. Oh well in the near future Me, My Wife, and two boys will be playing this one a whole lot. Man the anticipation for this system is annoying lol. I hope these next 8 days go by really quickly.

Looks surprisingly good, seems like the benchmark for the next Mario Kart has been raised by Sonic: ASRT. This game has all of the features I’d have expected in a Wii U racing game, a map on the gamepad as well as a rear view mirror, a Mario Kart style leader board showing who’s where and what items they have as well as the choice between traditional controls and gyroscope controls. I hope Mario Kart Wii U has all these features.
