Nintendo President Satoru Iwata unboxes a Wii U Deluxe kit himself.

We expected a whole bunch of Wii U unboxing videos as we got closer to launch, but we never expected who would be the first to do such a video: Nintendo el Presidente Satoru Iwata himself. In the latest episode of Nintendo Direct, Iwata took a Wii U Deluxe kit and unboxed it for the audience, showing what’s inside the box. Check out the video below, which Iwata calls the “Wii U unboxing ceremony”. He even wears white gloves to make it very official.

    I totally agree I can’t wait any longer lol. I’ve been looking for Wii U videos and News for months now, and now that Mr. Iwata has unboxed it I feel even more anxius. Man I get to pay off my pre-order tomorrow and the I wait another nine days to be able to play it. The good thing is I get to see the launch of the system at my Walmart so I’ll be excited all night long.

    I love how they call it a “Ceremony” and they use “Special Ceremonial Gloves” (when there made of rubber ). And the console is SO much smaller than I though (no sarcasm intended, seriously). Can’t Wait!!!

    Of course I know who Shigeru Myamoto is…. (I’m assuming thats how you spell his name since I wasn’t corrected) he’s only my favorite guy in all of Nintendo and gaming. Does anyone know if Shigeru has a say in the consoles they make? Such as if they were making say…the Wii U and he said he thinks the console should be blue or have a different controller instead of the gamepad or something, would they listen to him and ask him what he has in mind. Or would they tell him no and ignore any ideas he has?

      Well according to the insider who said they are working on a Wii U Zelda one of the features of the gamepad was included specifically at the request of the Zelda team. That would suggest that Nintendo’s developers are able to influence the design of Nintendo systems. And regardless of whether he has any actual control over any aspect of the console design, I think it’s fairly safe to say that Miyamoto’s opinion would be sought and respected.

I have a question, can someone please answer me? I wanted to know if the sensor bar will come with a little plastic mount like the original wii did? I live in the United States and the Wii U is coming with the sensor bar. Please help me with this…thanks!

  With basic it will not be included. When u buy mote and chuck its included in a special package. Ofc u can buy mote and chuck with no bar included. Acculy u dont need a bar. Just light up 2 candles and put em infront of where u stand and u can use mote/chuck.

Okay, so this may sound weird, and it is not that important, but I hope they are coming out with screen protectors for the gamepad. You know, the plastic things they put on the screen. I want to keep mine looking “new”. Does anyone know if they will come out with those?

This video is epic! Iwata’s pretty funny, actually. I’m glad the GamePad can be charged like the 3DS (without plugging the wire into it.) Random: I just saw the first Wii U commercial on TV!

Iwata is so much like Nintendo itself. He’s polite, warm and enthusiastic. Nintendo always feel like a company that cares. A relative utopian organisation compared with Microsoft: a faceless, heartless, oligarch. Or Sony, the slick corporate machine (which is nonetheless hemorrhaging money on and off).

That’s why personally I will always give Nintendo more chances, and keep a little more faith with them.
