Check out this 13 minute demo of Skylanders: Swap Force

Not one to be shown up by Disney’s recently announced Disney Infinity, Activision hopped on the digital toys bandwagon and announced the newest iteration of Skylanders called Skylanders: Swap Force. This new version will see Skylanders that you can mix and match the bottoms and tops to create entirely new combinations of Skylanders to play with. It’s a pretty neat concept and you can check out the video above to see how it will play out.

Can anyone tell me if the Skylanders series is actually good?  I obviously know that the whole idea of buying and collecting these expensive figurines and placing them on some bulky platform is gimmicky, but gamepaly and control wise, is it good?  I’ve heard positive things.  I might just buy Swap-Force if I hear more positive things about it.

the first one is a bit slow on the controls the second is more fluid. played swap force on toy-fare for the retailer i work for i can say that they did the control good on swap force especially finally jumping and the graphics are the best on wiiu.
      even the toys are cool

I would much rather buy disney infinity mostly because of the better characters and the sandbox mode that looks really fun.

A: Activision’s Skylanders Franchise, much like Nintendo’s consoles, are based on innovation. Every year, they come out with something new which aided in profits and fun.

Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure brought the idea for many playable characters that not too many other games have, as well as combining imaginative play with video games, while making a profit of up to $640 on one rich kid who needs every Skylander on both path’s, while holding onto the others by not requiring them to by all of them.
Skylanders: Giants introduced those rare, extremely strong characters that are somehow not over-powered. Every kid loves bigger, and they made Activision double the profit.
Skylanders: Swap Force will essentially sell kids everywhere 256 different skylanders for the price of 16 while still only selling 16 products.

B: If none of those ideas appeal to you, take a look at the path here.
Skylanders are fun for kids that still play pretend and also video games.
Giants are to the liking of those a bit older, who like everything strong and unstoppable.
Swap Force is aimed at those still older, who understand that there is no best Skylander because some moves are good on a given Skylander and some aren’t.
If you follow the pattern, Skylanders is getting older yet staying younger. For instance, Skylanders that can do something special, each different, and you have to figure it out yourself, and the game could give you optional hints maybe. After all, who doesn’t love a mystery?
