Until now we’ve not really known what it would cost to replace the GamePad for the Wii U should something happen to it. Nintendo isn’t allowing it to be sold as a separate accessory which is wise, since it keeps grandmas everywhere from thinking the Wii U GamePad is just another Wii accessory. It would seem that the Wii U GamePad is more expensive to manufacture than previously thought, which is why Nintendo has been so adamantly against price cuts for its new console.
