Wii U update confirmed for today; Virtual Console tomorrow

Nintendo's official Facebook page confirms the Wii U update is today.

virtual-console-announcement

Many of you have been asking when the promised April update with speed improvements would be released for the Wii U. Yesterday afternoon on Nintendo’s official Facebook page, the above image was posted. We know from the most recent Nintendo Direct that Iwata stated the system update would be made available and then the next day the Virtual Console would go live.

This means sometime today we should see the system update go live on your Wii U, so keep checking until it’s available!

Around the web
  • Peter Rogers

    Hurry uuuuuuuup aaaarrrgggghhhh

  • Moshugaani

T’would be nice if they’d just give a definite time when it’s live. I don’t like checking constantly. Well, no biggie anyway.

    • Jesus Reyes

Some people are never happy. Smh!

  • uPadWatcher

Looking forward to the update tomorrow… including the opening of the Virtual Console.

    • dubYA

      The update is today! :D

      • uPadWatcher

        *faints, falls down to floor*

  • di g

    checking……nothing doh!…..checking………nothing damnit!

    • val berger

that’s my experience with WiiU news in general ;D

      • Guest

        haha that’s for sure

      • MrBuney

        The update comez out….

Wii U fans: “SUMMER UPDATE HUURRYYYYY!!1!!!!111!one1!!!!11!

        • val berger

Not really. it’s more like ‘Soooooftware… Heeeellooo…..[noticing that I can hear my own echoes due to that endless hole I'm facing]‘ So, indeed fans are continuing to complain, but I guess the software issue should be a minor one for now ;)

          • ps4ultimania

i wonder if games will update with it for better speeds in the games as well er will shortly after

  • Lusunup

why are all of you in a hurry for this update? just be patient

    • Revolution5268

its just an update, not a big deal to me.

      • Jon

yep, the update will be nice but it isn’t that big for me, the VC is what I am waiting for and tomorrow is still the same time away as it would be regardless of when the update is released.

    • barky

      dude shut up

      • Lusunup

why should I shut up? guessing you got butt hurt its all good though….

    • panic atyourmoms

lol we’ve been patient with 23+ second load screens for months, we’ve waited long enough paying $300+ we deserve this update

  • jjmesa14

I heard that Nintendo was doing maintenance today from 1pm-7pm and that the update should be available after that.

    • jjmesa14

      1pm-7pm Pacific Time

      • ICHI

noooooo thats a pretty late finish for the UK if its at the same time :-(

      • scarlet

What!?!?!?!? That is too late!!!!!!!! Oh, no, I live in Hawaii and play until 7:30!!!!! :DDDDDDD

      • bizzy gie

        That’s 10:00 EST.

  • fireheartis1

Yah man I can’t wait for the Firmware update. It’s going to make the awesome Wii U even more awesome. Who cares what the haters say I love my Wii U. Hope it the update happens sometime by this afternoon.

    • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

      word. I totally agree

      • AAAkabob

There is another scheduled maintenance coming to the Wii U shop Thursday night.

    • NkoSekirei

      no more slow loading issues

      • DemonRoach

No, i think this is just a partial fix for loading issues.

        • NkoSekirei

nope they said this big update completely fix the slow loading issues so wat ur saying is false troll and u have a big track record of trolling so dont start

          • DemonRoach

Then we may as well chuck this piece of shit console into the trash bin? Or you are talking out your giant ass.

          • SoulSilverZero

Or maybe you’re being a smartass.

          • fireheartis1

Or how about we send Chuck Norris to your house and through you into the garbage. Wii U is no piece of crap like you say it is. The GamePad has a lot to offer for console gamers. People like you and Michael Patcher need to realize this. Games like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate rock when having the inventory on the touch screen. It’s very handy to have the inventory on a separate screen and not having to pause the game to get to it. Sorry bro but EPIC FAIL on your part man.

          • Edgar Robles

It’s a big half of two updates, this one being the first.

        • AAAkabob

DemonRoach is right, if any of you watched the Nintendo Direct earlier in the year you would’ve seen that Iwata discussed how this update is only half of the firmware update.

However it’s addressing more than just the loading issues.

      • Dominic Coradazzi

They’ll still be a little rough until later in the year but at least the update will get load times to the point of actually being bearable

    • Adrian

Now, the one update I wish for (but will never come) would be the ability to play Virtual console on the gamepad screen WHILE watching netflix on the main screen. That’d be sweet! Unfortunately, I doubt that capability :(. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to wait until I get a new PS3 for a Netflix + GamePad virtual console setup.

Note, I’m only interested in playing Virtual Console while multitasking. New games get my full attention (on main screen) And therefore no Netflix necessary!

      • barky

please tell us more about your personal preferences

        • Nathaniel Lopez

I like playing games while reciting the pledge of allegiance, drinking a full glass of strawberry milk, and caring not one bit about Jimmy cracking his corn; all at the same time.

          • Tony Melo

Now THAT, my friend, is fu((ing hilarious!!! I laughed pretty hard on that comment…. Good job sir.

          • Nathaniel Lopez

            Thank you.

          • http://www.facebook.com/AJ.Fowl Andrew Chambers

Strawberry milk? Thank you Jeebus, I’m not alone!

      • Zuxs13

I wish they would make it do that too. (Although I have 4 other devices that play Netflix as well in the same room)

        • Adrian

I doubt it’s possible because the hardware would need to be able to output two media streams simultaneously. But, it’d be pretty awesome. Haha.

          • Nathaniel Lopez

It’s a possibility, it all depends on how the Wii U handles apps and whatnots. Since the VC and Netflix are separate apps, they could make it so that it runs simultaneously and also to allow you the option of which app will display on the game pad or tv screen.

          • Wayne Beck

It can already do three. TV and two Gamepads.

What they need to do is work on there background software system. Simple services can do it at the OS level, but you can’t run two full “apps”, hate that word, at the same time. If a smartphone can do it, the Wii U should be more than powerful enough.

          • Adrian

Hmm, true. I don’t know enough about this stuff to predict all the potential. But I hope tto be amazed.

      • Adrian

Wow, surprised at how many people decided to be dicks responding to my upbeat comment. Good job having nothing better to do people.

        • Nathaniel Lopez

Oh, I think there might have been some misunderstanding. I was responding to “barky” who came up with a sarcastic rhetoric question, I felt like being funny, and replied to his post with what you see up there. I wasn’t trying to be a “dick”, but yeah, you’re right. I didn’t have anything better to do at the time.

          • Adrian

            All good!

      • Wayne Beck

Your not alone. I want that feature too. I like having a good show on while I play more simple games or if I’m grinding XP.

Wii U Netflix is just so much better than the others. But so is the gameplay…

        • Adrian

playing ff2 or ff3 (USA numbers) on the gamepad while watching netflix would be awesome. I played through both of those games 10+ times growing up.

    • SideScreamer

Full list of Virtual Console games are been released tomorrow, not the service.
System update is NOT coming today. Wii U Daily fails again.

      • Jon

Actually Nintendo did this time, they had the release date for the VC games for April 23rd on their site and with them saying the VC comes out a day after the update, it looked like the Update was today

    • Arthur Jarret

Most epic and true comment ever.

  • Alex Damer

Here in Central Europe the Update maybe come only tomorrow.

  • Nintedward

This update is AMAZING people. Holding B to boot straight to the Wii menu , Dramatically quicker OS functioning , Installs whilst playing game , download and installs while the system is off.

    Awesome.

    • The_fuzz_buzz

It’s not out yet though :’(

      • Nintedward

Patience , bro . It will be here soon enough. I’m from the UK , but it will be here soon also as the update is for all regions and SHOULD arrive on pretty much the same day in each territory.

        • The_fuzz_buzz

Lol, I know, that’s all I can do is have patience!!!!

          • Nintedward

            Indeed :)

        • bizzy gie

Oh that explains the “whilst”. Tell me: Do you spell ‘check’ ‘cheque’?

          • JumpMan

whilst is a word, man. look it up in the dictionary.

          • bizzy gie

            I know. I never said it wasn’t.

          • Nintedward

Check is a homophone :) I can check my emails or cash a cheque in….

          • bizzy gie

So you DO spell ‘check’ ‘cheque’. And yes I was specifically concerning the currency.

A homophone is two words that sound alike, but are spelled differently. Ex: Week and Weak

When a word is spelled and promounced the same, but carries out more than one meaning, that’s called a homonym.
Ex: CAN you explain why underpowered iPhones are so popular?

Saying the Samsung Galaxy S4 is made out of plastic is like saying the iPhone is made out of soda CANs.

    • Revolution5268

Im in America and i have not got the update yet…anyone else have it?

      • Thomas Nhan Tran

the update is today and it is from 1P.M. to 7P.M.

        • Cloud Windfoot Omega

          no that’s the preupdate maintenance

          • ps4ultimania

it the update update should be here today so ur full of nonsense cuz if it come out virtual console the day after the big update that post on fb was put up yesterday saying 2 days that leaves today for the update and tommorrow for virtual consol

          • Cloud Windfoot Omega

the update comes After the maintenance. cant put out a update when the networks are not running.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003244538311 Asifers Sheikh

            What in the fu#k…

      • Derty

Yup it’s 11pm central and still no update… WTF Nintendo?

        • Nathaniel Lopez

12am, no update, see y’all tomorrow. lol.

    • Brandon Betlej

So will it update automatically for me? I havent been playing because my gamepad is in for repairs.

      • Jon

you should be able to use the Wii remote to do the update

      • tronic307

Wait till you get it back; the GamePad has firmware, too.

        • shaun

it is a wiiu system update not a gamepad update so he dosen’t have to wait

    • DemonRoach

I rather have HOLD B to get to Miiverse.

      • Nintedward

That would be cool I guess. But Miiverse isn’t that difficult to boot up as it is. The Wii menu is a bit inconvenient so I’m glad they fixed that.

      • Revolution5268

yet you don’t even own a wii u to begin with.

    • Christopher Bass

      u got it ?

    • Levi Johansen

Yeah, and this is the SMALL spring update not the GIANT summer update!!

Oh boy, what could the summer update be? Use of two gamepads? using 3DS as a controller? TVii for Europe? 3D games? :O

    • Ravyu

      I don’t see it

  • Javy G

The last few minutes always seem like a lifetime when waiting!

    • Jon

it is probably still a couple of hours away from now…..

  • Revolution5268

Anyone curious when IT does go live expect many crashes to the wii u because everyone is doing it at the exact time like the 3ds?

    • Saul Rivera

You know I was thinking this too…what if after the update the Wii U starts crashing on random apps or actions

      • tronic307

        What if it doesn’t?

      • Moshugaani

Uh, he ment that everyone doing the update at the same time might crash/slow the servers. I’m sure the update itself is well tested so it should only improve your systems stability.

  • Jack

I’ll be waiting until I see someone actually say the update is live before checking up on it constantly and getting impatient. On that note though, I seriously can’t wait ’til it’s ready to install! It sounds like the Wii U will be exactly how it should have been at launch.

It’s cool that Virtual Console is coming, but I’ll be more excited once Earthbound gets a release date!

  • Eric J. Cottle

    Can’t wait! CAN’T WAIT!!!! LOL

  • Fred

Really? Only talk about the update? What about Super Mario World??? That’s what I’m excited about!

    • Seth S. Scott

#1 game all time for me. Played it countless times. :) Will buy it in ever possible form to have it at every possible time.

  • http://weeklyrift.com/ Tim Biggs

I know this update isn’t even out yet, but the next one better support folders because I am going to have a shirt-load of virtual console games just floating around and being unorganized.

    • Johny

yup ._. seriously… idk what were they thinking to not include some kind or form of organizement… even 3ds has it… various icons are already flooding my wii u “desktop”

      • Adrian

I moved everything I don’t use every day to the 3rd or 4th page.

    • Andrew W Garttmeyer

Agreed here, but did they remark on WHAT games of Virtual Console will be available or anything? Will they be like, HERE, YOUR WAIT IS OVER FOR THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE, YOU CAN BUY AND PLAY….these three games.

      • Nintenjoe82

My predictions for the 3 are Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros and Super Tennis.

      • Bloop
      • http://weeklyrift.com/ Tim Biggs

At launch, I believe it will be F-Zero, Balloon Fight, Donkey Kong Jr, Excitebike, Punch Out, Super Mario World, Ice Climber and Kirby’s Adventure. These are the eight games Nintendo has put up trailers on their YouTube account, and the ones shown during Nintendo Direct.

    • barky

it “better”? they dont owe us anything. but it would be nice

    • Zuxs13

Update isn’t happening tonight 4/22 folks. It will likely happen tomorrow. Nintendo said on Facebook page., they will announce the VC “line up” tomorrow. !-#-2/

  • Brandon Betlej

There should be a wii u daily app on the wii u

    • Evang3los

No there should be a miiverse wii u daily channel.

      • Christopher Bass

no wii u daily should delete itself

        • Edward Thorpe

          The image explains it all:

  • MetroidZero

  • Agent X

    Has anyone updated yet?

  • tooby77

This is getting better and better. I am like a little child again. :)

  • Derty

Ya this update will really solidify how great the system is. It will show all the non wiiu owners y they should own it :)

  • Richie

cant wait to play old games Viva la Wii U

  • ICHI

Just got home and no joy for me in the UK. Here’s hoping its soon I dont want it cutting into monster hunter time tonight :P

  • Giovanni Di Frisco

No update available in canada yet. Eastern time here!

  • Giovanni Di Frisco

What I really need is those 6000 mAmp internal batteries from nyko for the wii u tablet, suppossesly will give us 9-12 hors charge. Suspiciously, nyko is not releasing it until nintendo releases its battery pack for the wii u tablet in august 2013.

    • Agent721

So that’s what’s going on with those!!!

      • Giovanni Di Frisco

August 2013 for nyko and for nintendo, that’s the sooner we are going to get it, I suspect a conspirancy here. I’m sick and tired to be charging this tablet every 2-3 hours, sometimes twice a day. nintendo is clearly Marketing the wii u tablet as a remote tv replacement as well, for that we need a larger battery.

  • Wayne Beck

Is it out yet? Is It out yet? Is It Out yet? Is It Out Yet? IS It Out Yet? ID IT Out Yet? IS IT OUT Yet? IS IT OUT YET!? (*~_~*)

  • Tecpedz94

Why has nintendo stated the GBA games will be coming to the WiiU but not mentioned on the 3ds. I know it will come to the 3ds but they talk more about it on the Wiiu. I have GBA games from the ambassador program but i want both the WiiU and 3ds to have a large virtual console library which should already be available…..

    • barky

      wondering the same

    • Moshugaani

It’s so beyond me! You’d think it’s an obvious thing to do to publish GBA on 3DS VC. And an obviously great thing! It’s not like there should be any technical issue to hold that back. The ambassador versions work just fine.

      • shaun

ya but they don’t work like normal vc games thay work the same as they do on the gba which i found anoying becasue i was hoping for a save state

    • Ice Climbers

I think they are waiting to put GBA games on the 3DS VC because of the Ambassador Program. They probably feel that they would piss Ambassadors off if GBA games were added right now.

      • Tecpedz94

No we got it for free and others woudl have to pay so why be pissed off…. Wtvr hopefully it comes soon.

  • http://www.facebook.com/bowser914 Miguel A. González

Has anyone noticed there is no announcement on Facebook?

    • HylianHero7227

its on the wii u page not the nintendo one

    • Felipe

      yeah

    • Zuxs13

Update isn’t happening tonight 4/22 folks. It will likely happen tomorrow. Nintendo said on Facebook page., they will announce the VC “line up” tomorrow.**$46

  • Ducked

Yes! I’ve been looking forward to this update for so long. Really glad virtual console is finally here. I’m really looking to the Nintendo 64 and GameCube virtual console soon.

    • jay

      Dreamcast!!

      Shemnue!! Sonic Adventure!

      • ICHI

The thought of how empty my bank would be with GC games is enough to know if Dreamcast and/or Saturn games were released, I’d lose my house and drop out of University :-(
God damn I want to play Panzer Dragoon!

      • Ducked

I’ve never played the original Sonic Adventure, but I played 2 battle on the GameCube when I was younger and loved it.

  • Beachy John

Gamecube virtual console games *drools and rolls in that drool hype*…!
I know, I know… not yet. But hey, at long last the time of a huge system update is upon us! Can’t wait for it to land here in northern Finland.

It’s amazing how Nintendo has been able to pull off still lasting hype (in my case at least). The E3 is going to be super smash awesome!

    • jay

I’m waiting for Gamecube, Sega Saturn and Dreamcast.

  • Møhåmmęd Jårmøn

    Anybody get it yet?

    • http://people.ign.com/challe232 challe232

      nope :(

    • Beachy John

Damn, I guess I must try to sleep with the anticipation. Luckily the thought of it being up FOR SURE tomorrow is very relieving… :P

    • Jeff

      Still nothing.

  • DragonSilths

Still gotta wait 2 and a half weeks to get my Wii U back from Nintendo…

  • David Kumapayi

    where is the update??

  • Squid

Yes this update is soooooo exciting! “Virtual console comes tomorrow”
    …..Fuuuu!

  • GoDoFThuDer

cool but are any new apps coming to the wii u anytime soon

    • ZeldaFan83

I know the Panorama View app is coming.

  • http://www.facebook.com/nathaniel.c.wright Nathaniel C. Wright

    what is the update number?

    • Kalai3

No idea, but the one that came in March was 2.1.3.

  • NintendoNoob

Now this means Nintendo will finally go beast mode and show off all of Wii U’s features in brand new games!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!

  • David Ben Agosta

I will download The Legend of Zelda

  • HotInEER

Still waiting on my update. I can’t wait, one of my main gripes outside of lack of games is the boot times.

  • HylianHero7227

Yea VC is gonna be good. Regardless if it is the discounted version or not i will be paying for like my 10th copy of certain games xD zelda *cough*

  • ZeldaFan83

I hope this update comes sooner this afternoon rather than later tonight because I can’t wait any longer as I’m kind of impatient since I’ve been waiting almost 6 months for this update.

I’m curious how many games will launch with the Virtual Console and which ones will launch with the service…

  • CCM

I wonder if the Wii U version of VC will have classic games from competitors systems like the Wii did? Or if individual publishers like Sega will just re-release their own games (like the Sega Vintage Collection on PS3/360) in the eShop rather than licensing the name “Genesis” to them so they have an entire section of the VC devoted to it? It’s looking like it may just be classic Nintendo systems only this time.

  • ByteManNeo

GOT IT! Mine came at 2:15, whilst I was getting ready to go into my browser. SOO freaking fast now. Now if Nintendo would make a non-Mario MLB sim for Wii U, I’d (almost) NEVER leave the house!

    • http://www.facebook.com/realdt David Tracey

What time zone at 2:15? Please say Eastern Daytime US!

      • ByteManNeo

Yes. I live in SW Ohio, and wasn’t expecting it at all! It’s been a good day!

    • tronic307

      Version number? Pics??

      Troll

      • ByteManNeo

Leave a message…You may call me a troll, good friend, if you wish. All I know is I had an update occur at 2:15 pm EDT. I Have been meticulous in keeping my system up to date. It runs faster than before. These are facts. WHY it happened when no one else seems to have had it, I don’t know. If I am wrong, as current info on Gonintendo seems to say, I am wrong. Well and true. They were doing system maintenance earlier, maybe THAT had something to do with it?

  • Peter Rogers

maintenance is underway. i cannot access the eshop.

  • Luke Wilson

what is the latest update number

    • Kalai3

2.1.3 is the one that came out in March. Don’t know what the new one is yet.

      • Luke Wilson

        Okay thanks

  • WIIUGDFFOI

posting from my wii u…. still waiting for my update……

    • Adrian

      Weird, this can be ignored.

Looks like I will be updating at 6:30am GMT with an autonatic shutdown after install whilst im at work :-/.

    Night

  • jjmesa14

Trying to update but Nintendo Network is down. I guess it’s time to play Kirby’s Adventure.

  • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Just checked and it says my console is up to date or gives an error code so I will wait a few more hours and try before I go to bed.

I am excited for the Virtual Console and hope GameCube games come soon too. I wish they would just release a GameCube App so that people that still
have GC games on disc could play them in the console. Based on the
chip architecture I would say that the console could play them natively
but I am not sure if the ROM drive has the mechanics for the smaller diameter
    discs.

    • tronic307

I think it spits out GC discs. They could make a USB Gamecube player, maybe.

If the motor will take them in all the way it could just be spitting them out because it cannot read them. If that is the case then it is a software limitation. Since it can play Wii games natively it can play GC games natively with a bit of software tweaking. It would just be cool if Nintendo released a $20 app or something so that it could play GC discs and then make the app remap the control buttons to the Wii Pro controller. If emulators can do it so can Nintendo.

  • Noel Canales

No one has the update yet. What’s the firmware version then. Prove it or shut up.

  • ilovegoogleglass

    Downloading it now

    • http://www.facebook.com/realdt David Tracey

I just checked and it said I was up-to-date. How did you get it download?

    • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Mine keeps saying my console is up to date on revision 2.1.3.U

    • scarlet

      Really!?

    • Cerus98

      Stop trolling.

    • Nathan Ostroski

Are you posting in your sleep again??? I don’t think the update will be live until at least 10:00 PM ET to account for the downed maintenance of the Nintendo Network.

    • bizzy gie

Are you really? And where do you live?

  • scarlet

Hey, has anyone experienced freezing in LEGO City: Undercover? Whenever I try to land on the Helipad in Brights Light Plaza, My Wii U freezes and makes a horn sound. Do you think this update will fix this? Also, has anyone else experienced this?

    • Nathan Ostroski

Yeah LCU is kind of buggy. That horn sound is typical to most games that freeze. I’ve had the same thing for the Wii U on NFS: Most Wanted & Batman Arkham City. I don’t think the update will fix things like this, although I could be wrong. Some bugs are a result of how the software uses the hardware, so a patch to fix it would in most cases have to come from the developer of the game.

  • barky

THE UPDATE JUST CAME OUT AND I DIAREAHED ALL OVER THE PLACE
just kidding i wish. i mean i wish the update was out. i dont want diareah. i realize my spelling is off. im high

  • Nicolas Dorion

    FINALLY

  • Nicolas Dorion

hope I can bring my wii virtual console game to mah wii u… I mean i did the transfer

    • Cerus98

You can by doing a transfer as you said you did. Launch the Wii Menu and voila.

    • http://www.facebook.com/realdt David Tracey

Did you really update your Wii U?

      • Nicolas Dorion

        well… yeah

        • http://www.facebook.com/realdt David Tracey

What’d you do? I’ve been hitting the Software Update button quite a bit.

    • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

They plan to allow for upgrades to Wii VC titles to play on the Wii U Menu and Gamepad. The cost will be a $1 for a NES game and $1.50 for a SNES game to do the upgrade. Not sure about the costs of the N64 games or games from other past consoles.

      • Nicolas Dorion

        cool

      • Cerus98

None have even been announced for the Wii U yet. Only a handful of NES and SNES games.

  • Squid

    Has the update gone live?

    • Cerus98

No. Maintenance is currently underway until 7pm Pacific.

  • http://www.facebook.com/UncannyCaleb Caleb Turner

If this was posted on Sunday said 2days that’s tomorrow it never said anything about an update today.

    • http://www.facebook.com/ryan.quatier Ryan Quatier

They said the virtual console would come out on tuesday, and before that they said the update would come out the day before VC

    • Cerus98

The VC (not the update) launches tomorrow as per the post. The update is said to launch the day before that. The countdown image is for the Virtual Console. Learn to read an article man, its in plain English.

      • Guest

Dammit you got there before me

  • http://www.facebook.com/Noxeniv John Francis Coates IV

I never got an update, unless it was automatic? :(

    • eli

      it isn’t live yet

  • Samuel Velasquez

If the eShop maintenance will finish at 7pm PST, then the update will be live at 9pm EST if the update goes live, of course…

    • Cerus98

You know 7pm pacific is 10pm eastern right? 9pm eastern would be 6pm pacific, an hour before the maintanece will finish.

Btw, its PDT, MDT, CDT, EDT now. We’re on daylight savings/summer time.

      • Samuel Velasquez

        My bad, you’re righ

        • Cerus98

          No worries, common mistake. :)

  • ps4ultimania

ok did it actually come out did my console download and install the software itself while it was off and i was gone or did it not ever come cuz i dont see it

    • Kalai3

If your version number is still 2.1.3, you haven’t updated yet.

  • Jacob Brown

When does the update come today?! I’ve been waiting for forever. Not that I really care.

    • Nathan Ostroski

      Minimum 10:00 PM EST

      • ChiwawaBoi

your shitting me right? nintendo said today. not tonight.

        • Cerus98

If it launches at the conclusion of the maintanece at 7pm PDT then that is considered today and not tonight. Most things run on a Pacifc time zone schedule. Today is also a generic term for the current day which ends at midnight local time.

They also never said the update was launching today. They said the VC launches tomorrow and the update will arrive the day before that.

          • Nathan Ostroski

            I agree

        • Ace J

          lol tonight is still today

  • TrueWiiMaster

The eshop maintenance is done, but still no update here.

  • hyrulianslayer

the fact that it takes you this long nintendo to relaease an update, is the reason why the other consoles are beating you!

    • Cerus98

Where did nintendo give an actual date and time for the update? They didn’t.

PS. You have it backwards. Nintendo owned last gen and is just getting started his gen but already is selling more Wii Us during launch than any other console other than the Wii.

      • hyrulianslayer

iwata said it would be released this week, and then virtual console would follow. then on wii U’s facebook page they posted a picture yesterday saying two days until virtual console, and since we already know hat the update is suppose to come before it, many people came to the conclusion that it would be released today.

      • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

How did Nintendo own last gen? Seriously? Wii vs 360 and PS3? Lets be honest man

        • TrueWiiMaster

The Wii was the best selling console, and it had the best selling games of any console. It also had the best scoring exclusives of any console. It won gen 5 in pretty much every way.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

incorrect. the Wii had a massively strong start, and died sooner than later. Virtual Console is WAY overpriced. AND the Wii was STILL graphically incapable to catch up with the 360 and PS3. Now that they made a system that catches up, its too late. And they arent even utilizing the graphic capability of the Wiiu for any games. Get rid of the cartoon look and use what the system is made for.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

Even adding themes or backgrounds or “Mii outfits” or things like that would save them. But instead they have their finger up their asses and keep re releasing old games on virtual console to attempt to keep them alive. The WiiU is a VERY powerful machine, and they aren’t taking it seriously. Bottom lone.

          • http://www.facebook.com/realdt David Tracey

Stephen, just sell your Wii and go play with the graphical consoles. Seriously. Just do it! You clearly don’t like the way Nintendo is differentiating itself from the competition.
There are still MORE Wii units out there vs the other guys combined. It did sputter out of gas and it took the rest of the industry with it. Game sales are still down from 25-50% from previous years in each quarter.

Nintendo is slowly developing the Wii U. It’s a complete DS development repeat in its case. The DS wasn’t a runaway success until the Lite came out.

People are slamming it because it wasn’t like the Wii. Investors are looking for hard to find product that creates the crazy demand they saw for the Wii. It’s not going to happen this time. The Wii U has sold more than its competition in its respective launch windows means they’re doing fine. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nextbox and PS4 struggle to beat their predecessors in their launch windows, especially if it renders their past catalogs and products useless with the lack of backwards compatibility.

Regardless of what console you own, its full power is NEVER unleashed on Day One. No one has had sufficient time, investigating the product, audience and other factors that go into making a game to take advantage of it.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

Bottom line – they’re making simple mistakes. And IF Nintendo was graphically ahead – would you think that was a bad thing? Bashing them for having better graphics? No way. You’ll defend anything they do cause of your fangirl attitude. You aren’t seeing the mistakes.

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

I would comment on the graphics but gaming has never been about the graphics for me. They just need to be good enough to play the game and if the game plays like crap the pretty shaders, lighting effects and backgrounds mean nothing.

          • http://www.facebook.com/realdt David Tracey

I saw their mistakes. They still make some from time to time. Graphically superior doesn’t always translate to high sales. Wii proved people just want to play games, not sit and watch them and play in confined walls (a la Uncharted). I’m not saying PS4 and Nextbox won’t sell well, they will, but they’re going to be slow starters. People are burnt out by “amazing graphics.” People want to play games and that’s why Nintendo is in business for playable games. So yes, I will defend Nintendo because they’re at least listening to its customers. Making improvements from suggestions of gamers on their products. Sony and Microsoft doesn’t really take notes from its customers.

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Graphics graphics graphics. Did you ever hear of the phrase that beauty is only skin deep? If all you focus on is graphics then you are missing the whole point of gaming. Sure very few games are showing off the graphical power of the Wii U but it took a while for the graphics to improve on both the XBOX 360 and PS3 too as some of the early titles were not all that graphically great compared to what is produced now.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

they would have had a stronger start had they jumped on that. Is is all about graphics? NO. But dont boast about an amazing new console if you arent going to show its potential from the get go. Zombi U got it right.

          • Ace J

developers will get the hang of developing for the wii u and you will see the graphics capability being utilize. it just got out of the launch period jeez. its just like every other console during launch

          • Cerus98

Do you think a Japanese company who has been around forever simply didn’t know about hardware or how to use the latest and greatest? Try letting this sink into your thick skull….Nintendo has NEVER been in the business of competing when it comes to hardware specs. They dont give a rats ass how much unneeded RAM Sony and MS want to throw in their consoles. They are not trying to catch up with anyone. Period.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

and that is what will ultimately cost them. They are not unlocking the full capability of Wii U. It CAN be graphically better, it CAN play blu ray movies. It CAN have the ability to have a fun photo program. But instead they dont think outside the box. Its not about competing, Its about USING THE FULL POTENTIAL

          • Cerus98

So the PS3/360 were used to their full potential at launch? I think not, that didn’t happen until pretty recently. Nintendo is known for thinking outside the box ya moron. And who gives a shit if it won’t play Blu-Rays. Take $50 and go buy a standalone.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

HAH! Thinking outside the box? Yeah, im a moron cause they cant even handle the system they released. And as for a standalone, im all set. I have my all in one. Its called a PS3.

And as for the system not playing blu-rays, you’d think Nintendo would want a Wii U in every living room for that reason. But i guess not eh? Looks like they’re the morons.

          • Cerus98

So you have what’s considered to be the best Blu Ray player on the market and you’re bitching because Nintendo chose to keep the cost of the Wii U down by not enabling BR playback which costs money? Troll.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

Costs a MINUSCULE amount of money they can handle. If the system launched with that capability, EVERY home would have a Wii U. Even non gamers.

          • hyrulianslayer

but the fact that the WIIU can play blu rays means nintendo spent the money on the specs to enable it, but then locked it from people using it.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

Correct, a hacked system WILL play blu rays. The same as a hacked Wii will play dvds. Its not about cost. Its simply a code lock.

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Key word there is hacked, hence illegal code lock.

          • Cerus98

They spent the money to have a BR drive so they wouldnt be limited to DVD capacity. Standard BRs are 50 gigs – a hell of a lot more room for games in their new HD console.

          • hyrulianslayer

the point is that why have to go buy a blu ray player, when the wii u is capable of doing it but nintendo wont unlock the potential. its the same with the wii, it was able to play dvds but nintendo wouldnt allow it. the fact that the PS3 can play blu rays and 3D gives it that much more potential to stay in peoples homes while the wii and wii u get packed away.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

            What a smart man

          • Cerus98

It isn’t that they wouldn’t allow it. They simply chose to not add to the cost of the Wii/U by including DVD/BR playback by paying the licensing fees required which would be passed on to consumers. If you didn’t already own a DVD player when the Wii launched then you’re probably not a movie fan or couldn’t afford the $20 for one.

Blu-Ray isn’t as widespread as you think either and 3D isn’t by a longshot. People still walk into a video store and rent BRs thinking they can play on their DVD player.

          • hyrulianslayer

it would have been a nice thought that it could have been a future update to the system to play blu rays once they had the money to invest in it, but getting rid of the idea once and for all feels like a mistake

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

That is so true… My aunt in law got a BluRay of her son’s wedding and called me in a panic that it would not play in her DVD player. I told her she needs a bluray player and her response was “But the disc fits in the tray”

          • Cerus98

I’ve had to tell my mother-in-law a dozen times that a BR player would play all her DVDs. She like so many other people just don’t get it. They’re thinking along the lines of cassette to CD where it phsically wouldn’t fit. Burnable BR discs are also hard to find in retail stores. My local Best Buys don’t carry them. You have to go online to sites like Amazon but the discs are still very pricey compared to burnable DVDs around the same time frame.

A friend of mine who works for Family Video told me their employees are all trained to ask customers if they have a Blu Ray player when renting them because so many would come back and bitch because the movies wouldn’t play in their DVD player. Sad but true. The majority of the worlds population is technologically illiterate.

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

There are licensing costs involved in playing BluRay and DVDs.. Sony has the luxury of not having that cost since they are one of the owners of the technology but I am pretty sure statistics showed that a very small percentage used their consoles for a movie player. Also many homes have more than one console and that functionality may be redundant for some and why pay for it if you do not need it. Maybe it should be an add on app or something for those that want it. I use my custom HTPC/Gaming PC connected to my TV for a BluRay player and Media streaming device for things like Netflix actually as it is more versatile than what any console can offer. In fact since PS4 is not going backwards compatible and rumors say Microsoft is doing the same I am planning on abandoning their consoles for PC gaming. Their exclusive games do not interest me enough to invest hundreds into their console and their lock ins.

          • hyrulianslayer

i’m just saying as someone who doesn’t own a blu ray player, it would have been nice to have an all in one system with the WIIU, or would have been nice that they would give the option as a future update to the system to play blu rays, once they had the money to invest in it. and i will agree that the fact that the ps4 and 720 and rumored to not be backwards compatible is really off putting to a lot of people.

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

I am not disagreeing with you which is why I thought maybe a downloadable option for a small cost to cover the licensing for those that want it. I think they had the Wii able to play DVDs in other countries but some licensing regulations prohibited them from doing that in the US and other areas.

          • hyrulianslayer

well we can all hope that someday they will unleash the option to do so, i would pay a small price to have the option unlocked on my system, and im sure others would to

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Did you contact NIntendo about that as a feature request? They may never do it but it doesn’t hurt to try. In fact I will give that feedback on your behalf since I have no use for it but I am sure there are some that would. The NextBox is supposed to play blurays I believe and even though I didn’t hear that it did I assume the PS4 will too since Sony is one of the primary companies that own the BluRay patents.

          • hyrulianslayer

perhaps if enough people contact nintendo about the feature they will put a crew together to work on getting it to home consoles. though i think there biggest concern is getting a new zelda game out, because lets face it, thats what all us nintendo fans really want lol

          • Jeff Stonegraber

Nintendo will not go under just based on the majority of games aimed toward the entire family experience. I’m a lifetime Nintendo fan but love my xbox far more, based on Kinect and collecting Gamerscore. Obviously I love the hardcore games Xbox has to offer but its always fun playing any Nintendo product with my children.

          • Nathaniel Lopez

Actually, it’s just about making some really fun games.

          • TrueWiiMaster

Doesn’t matter. The Wii has sold more units than either the PS3 or 360, so it wins in hardware sales. It also has the best selling software, and the best scoring exclusives. Prices on the VC aren’t too high (though who wouldn’t want things cheaper?), because of what you’re getting. Power doesn’t matter that much, as shown by the best scoring exclusives being on the Wii. A good game’s a good game. And really? Get rid of the cartoon look? Besides the fact that that doesn’t take anything away from the games that use it, and in some cases even adds to them, keep in mind that Nintendo’s not the only company with stylized graphics. Take a look at LBP, Modnation, Sly, Ratchet and Clank, Borderlands, Street Fighter, and Tekken. And the list could keep going from there.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

Wii may have sold more, but most were sold back to a gamestop cause it got old real quick

          • Cerus98

Source or STFU and quit talking out your ass. Assumptions just make you look like a dumbass.

          • TrueWiiMaster

How many 360′s were bought to replace fried units? How many PS3s and 360s were bought just to upgrade to the new models or special editions (which the Wii never really had)?

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

at least they were REPLACED. Not sold back to abandon!

          • TrueWiiMaster

No, Gamestop buys broken systems too, which they refurbish and resell. And I’m sure there were more than a few people who traded in their systems to buy the new upgraded models too. All of that just inflates sales numbers.

          • hyrulianslayer

im pretty sure the wii had quiet a few new models or special editions just like xbox and PS3. but thats really just a merketing strategy.

          • TrueWiiMaster

The Wii had two remodels, but neither were improvements or upgrades at all, so neither would encourage people who already bought Wii’s to buy another. That’s not the case with the PS3 Slim and the new PS3 super slim (I’m not sure what the official names are) or the 360 Elite and the 360 slim.

          • hyrulianslayer

with the slim and super slim, it just meant a smaller system, i don’t believe there was any software upgrades that came with them

          • TrueWiiMaster

The systems were smaller and used less power, but I don’t know about the software. I do know that some games have issues if played on the original model though. I’m talking more about people who rush out and buy the new models just to have the newest models though.

          • hyrulianslayer

i do know that the newer upgrade models didnt play ps2 games but the first ps3 did, but i will agree that most people will go out and buy the latest model of a system just to have the newest and latest thing. though with the new ps3 that just came out, a lot of people have been having tons of problems with that model. kinda seems like each one keeps getting worse.

          • TrueWiiMaster

Really? I hadn’t heard that… I was planning on getting that model at some point (I never bought a PS3). I might have to look into that before getting one.

          • hyrulianslayer

yea, im friends with some people from gamestop, and they say the system falls apart, the tray that holds the disc gets stuck, the system itself is made out of old refurbished systems so the whole thing just feels like its going to fall apart in a second. if you plan on buying one i would go for the PS3 slim, its the best model, my friend has had it for a couple of years with no problems

          • Ace J

            gen 7.
            n64 and ps1 was gen 5

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

            Bam.

          • TrueWiiMaster

Depends on who you’re talking to. Most people start the generations with the NES. Out of curiosity, what are you starting at?

          • Ace J

with the Nintendo Color Tv Game and the Atari

          • TrueWiiMaster

Huh, I hadn’t seen the Nintendo thing before. Anyway, weren’t there like 5 Atari systems, not to mention the various other systems that were out there? I think that’s why most people start with the NES.

          • Ace J

yeah it can get a little messy but i know for sure that wii,ps3,and xbox 360 are gen 7

        • Guest

          99m Wii’s sold

800m Wii software sold (that works out just under 8 games per Wii)

And that’s before I even get on to DS and 3DS!

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

            3DS is considered current gen

          • Cerus98

This guy said it for me. AKA they owned.

A hell of a lot more game shave been sold for the other systems. Halo? Uncharted? The ONLY thing Nintendo has for them is Zelda and Mario – which is becoming a disappointment. Mario games are all the same. Its getting tired, just like Nintendo’s attempt to stay hip

          • Cerus98

Um – 360 total game sales are NOWHERE near the Wii, PS3, PS2 or 3DS.

          • http://twitter.com/SeroReviews SeroReviews

Speak for yourself. I don’t think Zelda or Mario are becoming a disappointment AT ALL. Really. Zelda is just amazing and has a bizillion fans that will always love it. Come on, man.

        • Jeff Stonegraber

I’ve been checking these comments since this morning to find out info on the update, not Stephen Furlong trolling.

      • Jeff Stonegraber

Wikipedia stated earlier that it would be released April 22 at 5 pm (no time zone) then later edited time, just that it’d be released the 22nd.

WP isn’t 100% accurate/correct. I certainly wouldn’t use it for anything other than educational entertainment purposes.

User edited with the same sources we have based on some N statements and a Facebook page.

    • THEMIGHTYDOOVDE

      explain?

      • hyrulianslayer

now dont get me wrong, i love nintendo and will support until to my grave. but with third party companies saying they wont make any new games for it, and the fact that the Wii U will be behind in specs when the PS4 and 720 come out and has the graphic capability of PS3 and 360, nintendo has some catching up to do if they wanna stay in the running

        • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

In terms of what?? Graphical Capability? Nintendo is leaps and bounds ahead of Sony and Microsoft in gameplay and innovation.

          • hyrulianslayer

yes they are, but without support from third party companies, being leaps and bounds ahead does it no good if it doesnt have any games coming into it

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

            agreed

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

I agree there too. 3rd party support is improving and indie game support is going to skyrocket. Of course EA and a couple other publishers/developers will still be pouting in the corner but I suspect they will change their tune once E3 hits and Nintendo shows off some of it’s killer 1st party titles.

          • THEMIGHTYDOOVDE

Nintendo will kick start 3rd parties after they release a load of killer IP’s.

    • zerooooo

Your a idiot and I don’t think anyone gets your stupid comparison

      • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

Uh, YOU’RE an idiot. Nothing is false in his previous statement. Nintendo making the WiiU is awesome, but purposely making it a generation BEHIND the PS4 and 720 will cost them. On many different levels. So before you go throwing out the term “idiot” why dont you do some research first and realize that although Nintendo is a good iconic company, they’re inevitably in trouble. Get over it, and get over yourself. BTW, learn how to spell YOU’RE

        • TrueWiiMaster

Nintendo was in trouble with the DS, Wii and 3DS. At least, that’s what a lot of people said. Case in point.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

that doesnt change the fact they they should know by now HOW to step it up and do it right. They’re clueless

          • TrueWiiMaster

I think you missed my point. Nintendo knows what they’re doing, hence the massive success of the Wii and DS, and the current success of the 3DS.

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

So Microsoft and Sony always get it right all the time… I think not. They have had updates that have bricked consoles, features full of bugs, and complete failures in games and hardware. If you think the 720 and PS4 are going to have a perfect launch just because the current consoles from those companies are stable after years in production you are sorely mistaken. Both those consoles were very rough out of the gate for the first 6 months to a year.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

Incorrect. PS3 and 360 had a strong start, and stay strong. And updates that brick consoles? Yeah lets bring that up when Nintendo released the first WiiU update that bricked a TON of them. User error? yes. but same with 360 and PS3

          • Ace J

it only bricked if you unplugged the console WHILE it was updating.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

like i said, user error. The same with 360 and PS3. Half of the bricks that happened was because they had a hacked system and it messed it up. Also user error.

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

You got some facts to back that up?? I have never had a RROD on my 360 either probably because it is a later generation that did not have the massive heat issues the original did but way more hardware failures on the Sony/Microsoft end not the fault of the user.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

I wouldnt know, i didnt hack my 360 or ps3, and ive never had an issue either.

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Like I said neither have I aside from the KInect issue after a major update. I know several that are on their 2nd or 3rd 360 or PS3 due to failures which I think inflates those sales numbers a bit don’t you?

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

people dont take care of their stuff. they dont give it room to breathe or they push the drawer closed instead of using the button or they leave it on when not in use etc. If its not properly taken care of, it will give problems. I have heavily used and played systems FIRST GEN for ps3 and 360 and i have no issues

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Not always the same.. I had an update that bricked my kinect. No user error there. Microsoft replaced it even though it was out of warranty so I am not angry. If people unplug or power off their console during an update then it is not the fault of the manufacturer. Out of the bricked Nintendo consoles that was the problem of the vast majority of them if not all of them.

I do not have the numbers but the 360 first year sales were really not much higher than what the Wii U is now.

          • Cerus98

Wii U launch sales are higher than the PS3/360.

          • Cerus98

The lights of death say otherwise my friend.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

            Never had one

          • Kyle Crozier

I have to agree with the fact that they are a step behind when it comes to what 3rd party developers want for console hardware. The biggest problem with nintendo is that they like to rest on their laurels and feel that innovation will win customers. Unfortunately that just doesn’t work in the home console market. It’s all about power. While I applaud 3rd party developers like Ubisoft by bringing just about every game they’re working on to the Wii U, I just don’t see any others doing the same thing when you have consoles like the PS4 and Xbox 720 being far superior hardware wise. I’m a loyal Nintendo fan since 1988 but even I see the writing on the wall.

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Nintendo has been reported as going out of the gaming business since the N64. Not true then and not true now.

        • zerooooo

Alright bud before you hop on his dick and go on your grammar period read his comment and tell me it isnt a stupid assumption… its the fucking internet not english class so hop off me to. Dont go smart ass on me because in reality you look like a dumbass infront of the wii u daily community we dont need any grammar nazis. Go ahead tell me how i didnt use proper grammar because you know what i said is true and you have nothing else to say, go ahead

    • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

It did take them a while.. The problem was addressed in January I believe publicly by NIntendo and a few months later we have the update. The console was still functional and impact was minimal overall. I mean it is not like their network was hacked due to incompetence and a complete lack of security and down completely for over 2 weeks like one of their competitors that you speak of that is allegedly winning.

      • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

Nintendo is a mess with online multiplayer. And no, their network wasn’t hacked. Which gives them all the more reason to have zero excuses

        • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

There are some growing pains to be had for sure that I will not deny. I will admit that I do not play online as much as some and rarely play with strangers as my experiences with XBOX live left me disappointed with the rudeness of the other players. I have played some online with the Wii U with my brother and couple friends and found it worked OK. Needs some improvement though.

          • http://www.facebook.com/stephen.furlong Stephen Furlong

and it also is a pain in the ass to set it up…i had to call nintendo support they they could log into my router to allow their system to use special ports for wiiu chat. Ridiculous. They try to overcomplicate things and it bites them in the ass.

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Special ports?? Funny… I plugged mine in and walla.. Maybe it is a problem of your router settings and not Nintendo.

Update isn’t happening tonight 4/22 folks. It will likely happen tomorrow. Nintendo said on Facebook page., they will announce the VC “line up” tomorrow.%*64$

        • TrueWiiMaster

They said the VC would come out tomorrow.

          • AAAkabob

Nope Nintendo said nothing of the sort. Wii U daily just put words in their mouth.

Look at the photo, does it say VC firmware will be released in 2 days? Nope just says 2 days.

          • TrueWiiMaster

Seriously? It says “2 Days, Virtual Console” and was posted on Sunday. That means Tuesday, two days after Sunday, and the update will come before the VC. That is, unless someone at Nintendo posted incorrectly, but we don’t have much reason to think that. Not until Tuesday ends and the VC isn’t there.

          • AAAkabob

Look at the source…Ie: Facebook page. They were only announcing VC launch titles

EDIT: so you (TrueWiiMaster) can’t delete the rest of the convo.

Nintendo just released a pic that had the words Virtual Console on it and 2 Days. Which could mean anything. In this case WiiUDaily made a huge assumption and was wrong.

          • TrueWiiMaster

They didn’t say that… They added a second picture saying to come back tomorrow to see the launch line-up, which we already know to some degree from the Nintendo Direct. It didn’t infer that them listing the games was what the first picture was referring to.

          • AAAkabob

The original didn’t infer that the VC was going to launch in two days though, just said 2 days which could mean a lot of things

          • TrueWiiMaster

            Delete?

Most people would think the VC is coming in two days if, the week it was slated to come out, Nintendo released such a picture. It wasn’t a huge assumption (I saw the picture on facebook before I saw it here and thought the same thing). I have to think that either someone made a mistake and put up the picture too soon, or was kinda just being a jerk. Of course, it’s still technically possible that the VC will come today, or if not the VC then the update, with the VC tomorrow.

          • AAAkabob

Not a huge assumption but an assumption nonetheless. The fact that they said this is “confirmed” makes the article liable for the assumption.

    • Zuxs13

  • panic atyourmoms

apparently this jumps us to version 3.0 confirm?

  • JamesJose

is this update just for speeding the system up or does it have new features too? besides from the virtual console

    • AAAkabob

      It has several features.

      • JamesJose

anybody knows what kind of features are they?

        • AAAkabob

I posted it, filter the posts to “new” to find it

          • JamesJose

            already did thanks

    • TrueWiiMaster

It allows you to go straight to Wii mode by holding “b” as the system turns on, and it will allow for auto updates, downloading and installing in the background, and downloading and installing while in standby.

      • JamesJose

aww right, i remember now, thanks.

  • AAAkabob

For those who think this is just a load time update…there is more to it

“The Wii U System Update we heard about earlier this year will be released next week, it’s been announced.

Among a host of improvements, loading times when switching software or returning to the menu have been improved, while new features like copying and moving data between two USB drives will also be available for the first time.

You’ll be able to auto-install software in the background while playing another title after the update, as well as auto-receive updates without having to start up software.

Pressing B when turning your Wii U on will also send it directly to Wii mode, while a new standby function will let the Wii U continue to download and install software even after you’ve turned it off in a bid to save time.”

Taken directly from IGN, and I’m assuming this will make the system more stable.

    • shaun

nintendo said last week that the system update would be this week dumb ass

      • Haize

And he took this from an IGN article that was published last week after the Nintendo Direct…

        …dumb ass.

        • Revolution5268

its times like these is why people can’t even read?

      • AAAkabob

You are too ignorant to flesh out a coherent argument with that insult, I feel bad for you.

  • Zuxs13

Update isn’t happening tonight 4/22 folks. It will likely happen tomorrow. Nintendo said on Facebook page., they will announce the VC “line up” tomorrow.

    • THEMIGHTYDOOVDE

      Sounds legit.

    • TrueWiiMaster

They also said the VC will arrive in 2 days yesterday, and Nintendo said the VC will only arrive after the update.

      • Zuxs13

That could have just meant the VC line up is coming in two days. There is another round of scheduled maintenance tomorrow as well.

        • TrueWiiMaster

          It says

          “2 Days
          Virtual Console”

Besides, the newer picture doesn’t say they’ll announce what’s coming to the VC so much as they’ll share what comes out. At least, that’s what I get from “check back tomorrow for the full launch line up”. I certainly could be wrong.

          • Zuxs13

Well its almost tomorrow here already and still no update. So I’m not expecting it till tomorrow at the earliest.

          • Cerus98

Wherever here is, is irrelevant. It’s only 8:20pm PDT which is the standard time zone for this sort of thing.

          • Zuxs13

I guess its relevant enough since it didn’t come out. Won’t be out until Thursday.

The info you’re looking for can’t be found. You might want to try searching again, going back to the homepage, or exploring one of the pages below:

I get this when I click on excitebike on the nintendo website…..

    • jjmesa14

That’s funny. I am watching the Wii U Facebook page too and I see this exact same comment under the Mario World Picture.

      • Jon

yeah, that comment is me, notice how it is the same name

    • panic atyourmoms

same here. maybe the website is getting an update too?

  • Christopher Bass

still nothing… wtf? people in CMT got it according to my friends in iowa

    • http://www.facebook.com/ryan.quatier Ryan Quatier

I’m in Missouri, and I still haven’t got it, I don’t know whats going on.

      • Jon

the VC stuff has disappeared off the nintendo website…….. this concerns me

        • http://www.facebook.com/ryan.quatier Ryan Quatier

          Yeah, something is wrong

          • Christopher Bass

            what could it mean?

          • http://www.facebook.com/ryan.quatier Ryan Quatier

I think we will just have to see what happens, Nintendo should at least acknowledge what’s going on.

          • whisk

they would probably just say it has something to do with “maintenance”..

          • Christopher Bass

true, but still they should say something at least on there fb page after realizing how many ppl are going nuts lol

          • http://www.facebook.com/ryan.quatier Ryan Quatier

I am very disappointed in Nintendo right now

          • jjmesa14

That would be something Nintendo would say. However they can’t cover it up because the maintenance ended at 5:45 PT according to their website.

        • jjmesa14

True. About 10 minutes ago I searched Nintendo’s website for Excitebike and t was listed under Wii U games. I clicked on the link and it took me to an error page like you said. Then I searched for Excitebike again and I couldn’t find it for the Wii U. I searched for all of the other Virtual Console games that were supposed to be coming out tomorrow and none of them exist on Nintendo’s website anywhere.

      • Christopher Bass

maybe only a select few get it? WHYYYY NINTENDO WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

    • whisk

      i’m from iowa… no update

      • Christopher Bass

weird… my friend funkym0nkey got it

    • Cerus98

CMT is Country Music Television. I think you mean CDT/CST which is Iowas time zone.

  • Christopher Bass

Getting sick of seeing ppl saying they got it.. maybe im delusional

    • Mc Robins

      Mad bro?

      • Christopher Bass

no im just jumping with joy

    • Revolution5268

yeah i though Europe has it but i was wrong, and where is the proof that Nintendo said Monday?

  • Antar Rodríguez

how come everyone gets it, but mine just doesnt show up?

    • Nathaniel Lopez

I’m guessing they’re doing controlled downloading to not crash servers or something. It’s the only thing I can think of at this point. May not make sense…but whatevs.

      • Christopher Bass

Educated guess. Maybe that’s what it is. Whatever it is I wont sleep over this silly update. I need it just to know my Wii U is up to date lol.

        • Nathaniel Lopez

Yeah, I know what you mean. Regardless, I won’t hold it against them if they’re just making some last minute adjustments.

          • Christopher Bass

No its not that I’m upset with them either, I figure it’s not released as it’s not 100% yet… just wish it was

        • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

That educated guess is probably spot on. All major tech companies phase out updates to their clients based on what their servers can handle. When there is a major update to Windows, MacOS, Xbox live or PSN they do not all go live at the same time.

Reading all these angry comments about the update not being there yet makes me wish people were as diligent in updating their home PCs and Macs. Working in IT I see so many so far behind in updates and service packs some of which the customer denies because they claim they do not want to wait for the updates.

    • Christopher Bass

      same here, smh

  • Pikachief

Guys, Nintendo never gave a release date for this. And they said that the virtual console “line-up” will be announced tomorrow. No release dates for anything.

    • Christopher Bass

it was stated that it was coming out the day prior to the vc

      • Pikachief

And we havent been given a solid date on the VC either, just that the “launch line-up” of the VC is announced tomorrow.

        • Christopher Bass

Yes, FB picture on their profile shows VC in 2 days posted yesterday = Tuesday

          • Pikachief

and their latest post says the launch line up is tuesday

          • Christopher Bass

yeah… exactly, meaning the update that’s to be a day prior would be today

          • Pikachief

or meaning it was counting down to when the launch line up was being announced? Or maybe its being delayed a day and they’re trying to be sneaky about it since they didnt actually announce it to begin with?

          • Christopher Bass

I believe it was said in the Nintendo Direct + the amount of people who also said it was today + the maintenance we had today. Idk but sounds like it was supposed to be today. If not then ill waste the night I guess waiting for it lol

          • Pikachief

Well this website is pretty much the only place on the internet saying its confirmed. Sony and Microsoft always do maintenance at least a few days before an update arrives. I think it’ll happen tomorrow or even wednesday to be honest. And the Nintendo Direct just said sometime this week. There’s still 5 days left of this week.

        • Christopher Bass

if you have a FB look up the Wii U profile

    • Nathaniel Lopez

They said the update was being released today.

    • Jon

Excitebike was set to be released on April 23rd, it was on their site with that date which is tomorrow and they said the update comes out the day before the update. Now the game is completely off the site and the link to it does not work anymore.

    • Antar Rodríguez

but guys at miiverse have said that already got it, maybe they were trolling

  • SinkyChan

Confirmed? Every other source I’ve seen says it’ll be this week… Who the shit is running this God awful site?

    • Pikachief

That’s what I’m trying to say. idk why a picture saying “2 days” confirms anything.

  • Michael

The update will allow system updates to occur automatically……so maybe it happened and we don’t even know it? lol

but for real, i was in the “download management” app earlier today and the system update had a red x with an error. i walked away for awhile and then when i got back the error was gone and it said no new updates….so maybe it happened?

    • Christopher Bass

You would know because you would go to ur system settings, If it says 2.1.3 in the upper right then you didn’t update, that’s the version from march. This update will bring you to version 3.0.1 or whatev

    • jjmesa14

Probably it wasn’t connected to the Internet for a short time. To check if it updated you can go into settings and at the top right it’ll say your version number. If it says 2.1.3 then it hasn’t updated.

      • Christopher Bass

damn I thought I beat u to it lol

        • jjmesa14

My iPhone doesn’t refresh the comments continuously so I didn’t see your comment when I posted. But you beat me by 3 minutes.

  • Linskarmo

I don’t think its today. Not that I mind, since Nintendo didn’t actually say it would be today. I was excited for a bit though. Sometime soon!

    • Antar Rodríguez

yeha, im starting to think this site is just run by rumors

  • whisk

i’m just hoping the eventual update will fix my error code when i try to use eshop… if that doesnt get fixed, the vc is useless to me..

  • jjmesa14

Countdown Nintendo! Less than 5 minutes until you fail to keep your promises once again.

    • Christopher Bass

Im starting to doubt it was promised to be today.

    • Antar Rodríguez

intendo never gave an exact day

    • Doctors Tardis

This website is the only one that ever said today and they inferred it.

    • Nathaniel Lopez

It technically wasn’t a promise…but yeah it’s not here yet.

    • Sdudyoy

      For me it’s an hour.

  • Rob Lucci

    I’m updating as we speak.

    • Mc Robins

      Pics or GTFO :D

    • Christopher Bass

      Troll? Please say no

    • http://www.facebook.com/ryan.quatier Ryan Quatier

      I don’t believe you

    • Nathaniel Lopez

Don’t you think you should update your resume during the day?

    • Adrian

      The CP9 plays Wii U?

  • Ryan House

I am unable to download update. Wii U Keeps Saying System Up to Date

  • Mc Robins

ha ha I feel like this is the only site saying it may happen today

  • Ryan House

Did the Original Wii have a way to Boot Directly into Gamecube mode by holding B?

    • Cerus98

Didn’t need it. You just put in the game and off ya went. There was no separate mode needed.

  • jjmesa14

    Let down once again. :(

  • Nathaniel Lopez

Is anyone else having problems accessing the E-Shop?

    • Christopher Bass

      ill check

      • Nathaniel Lopez

Nevermind, just got in, might have just been my connection.

        • Christopher Bass

oh ok… thanks tho cuz for some reason I decided to just start dl-ing wii street u lol

          • Nathaniel Lopez

            lol, you’re welcome.

    • whisk

yeah…. since january… what error code?

      • Nathaniel Lopez

dang since january sorry to hear that, but mines just started working again…

        • whisk

ah.. right on… apparently i have stumped 4 advanced networking specialist haha

          • Christopher Bass

            did u call Nintendo?

          • whisk

yep… i think i have a portfolio with them… it was 4 of their specialists that i stumped… we tried everything.. its as if the router times out, but, everything else works fine… it slightly works when i power cycle the router, and after a bit i get error code 111-9001

          • Christopher Bass

what kind of router you got and what kind of devices does it run

          • whisk

zyxel pk5001, ps3, laptop, directv, smartphone

          • Christopher Bass

well then it shouldn’t be the router… I don’t know I guess I’ll stand in line with the people you have stumped lol sorry

          • whisk

its cool.. i hope it gets figured out by the time the nsmbu dlc comes out..

          • Nathaniel Lopez

It might be something with your nat type…I had some problems with that when I had a 360 a while back.

          • ICHI

I bet, can you play online okay?

          • whisk

yep.. every other online aspect works just fine..

          • ICHI

I had trouble even though I could play online but it wasn’t just confined to the eshop, I couldn’t access netflix either. Had to assign static ip’s and allow port forwarding for the device. I imagine you’ve already tried that though…….. Other than that I would be stumped too lol.

          • whisk

did the static and port forwarding work? i have century link and apparently they dont allow that without purchasing another package…every time the nintendo support tried to set it up, he got kicked out..

          • ICHI

It worked for me, though that’s not to say it would work for everyone. I had to port forward Black Ops 2 as well. I had strict NAT settings which means you can only connect to hosts with OPEN nat settings making getting a game harder (most people have Moderate NAT’s) I now have open settings, am the host more often……. and win a lot more :)
Its a pain you have to pay extra for it, I hope it’s not much because I’d hate to say definitely try it and then it didn’t work, but for the best possible online experience for any console over WiFi port forwarding is usually the answer. This isn’t just a Nintendo thing either, I had to do the same for my 360 otherwise Gears of War 2 (when it was released) wouldn’t find me a game I just got a spinning cog. You could always try a wired connection they usually aren’t so bad, but again it could be expensive as the adapters seem to cost more than they really should?

          • whisk

the gamestop near me has a nyko wii lan adapter… im not much into 3rd party accessories, but, its only 12 bucks.. i asked centurylink how much it would be extra for the port forwarding, the advanced networking package is 20 bucks… although, i tried the wii u with a different router at a different location, worked perfectly,,, it was an old qwest router through century link.

    • Doctors Tardis

it took a while but it got there.

    • Sdudyoy

It was down earlier but it’s up for me now.

    • Christopher Bass

      no

  • Antar Rodríguez

ok nintendo never revealed the exact day for the update, i think this was just a rumor taken from a profile picture, the should start posting real facts here

    • Christopher Bass

ya im really beginning to hate this website… I can get more reliable news from a meteorologist

    • jjmesa14

If you don’t think that they’re posting facts on this website then why do you even bother to look?

      • Antar Rodríguez

just to see how many people got to believe the rumor

  • Rob Lucci

Omg! They put Mario SunShine in the eShop.

    • Rob Lucci

I’m guessing cause of Earth Day.

      • Christopher Bass

        lol nice promo there

      • Christopher Bass

did u really get the update yet?

    • Pikachief

omg you’re so right! I’m so glad you’re as believable and as reliable as this website!

      • jjmesa14

If you don’t think that this website is reliable then why are you even looking at this website and posting comments?

        • Pikachief

okay… as reliable as this one post on this website then?

And who’s to say I didnt think this site was reliable?? loljk

  • http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=UUYKptJ3wOiYnsvA5tNOT2TQ Blu_J

Just left Facebook myself & the above pic has been up since Sunday so there was no real confirmation that the update was for Monday. All the people commenting says its just more hype to get people excited about VC. It’s ashamed if Nintendo had to lie & hype up a update & VC. But wii will all be waiting to get the update when it’s available. No need to hype stuff like this Nintendo, it just makes mii more angry. >:(

    • Christopher Bass

lol I had to do a double take. I guess Im such a Nintendo fan that I thought wii and mii was spelled correctly.

    • TrueWiiMaster

Yes, Sunday, 2 days from Tuesday, which just started 20 minutes ago by EST. Until Tuesday ends with no update, which would also mean no VC, don’t say anyone’s lying here.

      • http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=UUYKptJ3wOiYnsvA5tNOT2TQ Blu_J

Never said anyone was lying here I just know what I read & what I heard in the direct. I agree 2 days from Sunday is Tuesday but the direct said vc a day after update. That sign then should have said 3days if we get the update on Tuesday. But like I originally said never called anyone a liar those words came from your mouth. I’m just waiting like you all are. Just leave it @ that.

  • Møhåmmęd Jårmøn

It’s April 23 and still no updates… Awkwarrrrrrd

    • Cerus98

It’s April 22nd, 9:27pm PDT for their US headquarters. Come on people, time zones aren’t hard.

      • Møhåmmęd Jårmøn

Oh hey smart ass what time is it now? Do you have an update yet? Yeah didn’t think so

  • Christopher Bass

Thanks. Now I gotta call out tomorrow from work just so I can keep clicking the update console button to no avail. Just because.

  • Knguro

It’s really stupid that all of you guys are angry because of the update… there has been no official announcement that says “the update will be release today”… this is the only site where people is talking about it. Whats wrong with you people… don’t be impatient

    • Christopher Bass

2 other sources.. there in this comment section

      • Cerus98

No official sources. All based on a Facebook picture for the VC and a comment a while back about the update coming the day before the VC launch.

    • http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=UUYKptJ3wOiYnsvA5tNOT2TQ Blu_J

thats pretty much what i was trying to say, exactly what u said.

    • Jon

the announcement was that the VC would come out a day after the update, Nintendo had VC games listed as releasing on April 23rd which technically today. Then those games just seem to vanish off of their website.

  • Jonathan Dogey

There was never any update today so this article was total bull

    • Cerus98

Not that I think it’s coming but the day isn’t over yet. It’s still only 10:30pm out on the west coast.

  • jeffp3456

    Wiiudaily FAIL!!

  • GermGerm

It doesn’t say the virtual Console is coming in 2 days… maybe it means Ice Climbers in 2 days?

  • ChiwawaBoi

screw it. its now 1am, and im tired as hell. PLEASE come tomorrow!!!! ;(

  • [CMD] DEATH

Um… Did the update even come out today? I’ve been checking and don’t see anything yet.

  • Cerus98

It’s officially tomorrow (April 23rd) on the west coast and no update. It’s official – Wii U Daily fail. “Confirmed”…..haha.

    • ICHI

Yup no update here in the UK, its not just wii u daily though, joystiq and CVG reported the same story. Maybe its today but I would have thought the VC would release Thursday in the UK when new games usually appear on the eshop. That would mean weds update at the latest. :’(

      • Cerus98

Oh I know. I was just mocking everyone who were so pissy over the update not launching. Though the confirmed part has to be at least a little embarrassing since it implies something official from a real source.

  • PacoJerte

Ok guys the countdown wasnt for the Virtual Console debut but for the official line up to for the lauch

    • Cerus98

The official lineup has been known for a while.

  • Magnus Eriksson

Didnt happen yesterday? Not that Im suprised, its Nintendo after all.

  • Michael Taylor Hawthorne

Maybe this story is from the future?

  • freden

    Its out!!!

    • ICHI

Don’t get my hopes up sonny jim :(

  • Your Mum

Nintendo have really messed up here. Not because the update and VC both still aren’t out, but by not saying when they are coming instead posting ambiguous images on their FB page instead of actual information. Also, new Wii U games are way too expensive, I’ll be getting mine second hand.

    • LopsidedPasta

Wii U games cost the same as PS3 games. You fail

      • Your Mum

Not really, I don’t own a PS3 because they are also too expensive.

        • Your Mum

Actually I’ve just had a quick look on the GAME website and they seem to have come down a bit since I bought mine. The shops wanted £55 for Mario bros then, but they are still overpriced in the Wii-U e-Shop. £55 for Zombie U I think.. too much for me.

      • Your Mum

I own a NES, SNES, PS1, PS2, Wii, X-box 360 and a Wii U. Out of those the Wii U has the most expensive games by far.

        • LopsidedPasta

Dafuq? 360 games cost 60 dollars. Unless you play Viva piñata, you’re paying 60. If the “high price” of a sixty dollar game makes you buy them second hand, you may want to reconsider your # of consoles.

          • Your Mum

The difference appears to be that you and I are in different regions. Most Xbox games are about £40 here, and Wii-U games are about £55.

          • Name

            Use Shopto.net

          • Your Mum

Thanks a lot for this one. It’s difficult to find Wii U games at reasonable prices in England.

          • Name

No problem, shopto has the best prices i’ve seen, and they put on regular offers. plus the delivery is free and next day!

          • LopsidedPasta

oh, you’re not american. OK, then I can’t really speak for you then. Sorry for my rudeness. I just thought you were an oblivious American.

          • Your Mum

            Btw at today’s rates £55 is $83.70.

        • Doctors Tardis

Are you kidding me? Games have ALWAYS been in the $60 range, even back on the NES-N64 days. So with inflation, today’s games are the CHEAPEST they’ve ever been

    • ZeldaFan83

You can get most Wii U games on Amazon for around $40-$45, so go check it out.

  • liamdawe

I guess this won’t hit for another few days then…poor show nintendo!

  • Noel Canales

What going on here. Who launched this story that it was coming out yesterday. Has computer game journalism gotten to the point that its like some Liberal Network like MSNBC doctoring tapes…..what gives Wii U Daily? Get your facts straight. There is probably no virtual console update today as well. Its like letting an 7 year old by behind the wheel but in this case its this freak-n website.

    • DemonRoach

Nintendo posted it, then rescinded it.

      • Zuxs13

No they posted VC 2 days. I know that can imply it was coming out on Tuesday therefore the update would be the day before. But that could have just meant VC news in 2 days. They never took the post down or rescinded it.

  • THEMIGHTYDOOVDE

Why are peeps getting wound up?

Nintendo have clearly stated the update is coming this week and it’s only Tuesday!

  • jjmesa14

Turns out there will be another round of maintenance on Thursday.

    From Thursday, April 25, 2013 5:00 PM
    - Thursday, April 25, 2013 7:00 PM Pacific Time
    Affected Services:
    Wii U
    -Nintendo eShop

This could POSSIBLY be the Virtual Console release on the eShop. POSSIBLY!!!

  • whisk

It looks like nintendo will be on overload thursday.. just read an article on destructoid that rayman legends challange level gets released also…

  • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Now the rumor mill is saying the update will not come until Thursday. Wish someone could post truthfully if they got the update or not.

    • Zuxs13

Oh they probably did get an update. The last one from February that they hadn’t downloaded yet.lol

  • John Andalora

Dd anyone get the update? It didn’t come for me.

    • panic atyourmoms

its not out, miscommunications. hopefuly thursday at the latest

  • scarlet

What he heck!? Where is the update? I stayed up all night and still nothing! It better be here today!

  • http://www.facebook.com/emilee.elizabeth.7 Emilee Elizabeth

Ugh… what’s going on? Besides the update being pushed back till who knows when, that probably means VIrtual Console will be delayed as well. Has anyone tweeted anything?

  • fireheartis1

Has anyone received the Update yet? When I went to the eShop and looked up news it said latest system update is now available, how ever, I left my Wii U on for at least 45 min this morning and then checked the Download Management and there still wasn’t any progress. I was tired so I turned it off because it said to do so would be ok. The support.nintendo.com website also said it will continue when I turn my Wii U back on. So hopefully I will get the update running when I have the chance to turn my Wii U back on.

  • ExtremeAzure98

Looks like the day is Thursday.

That’s too bad, but it’s only the day after tomorrow.

    • Alienfish

I just checked today too and it isn’t up yet. Oh, well, we’ve waited this long for the update that makes it so we don’t have to wait so long, so what’s a few more days of waiting?

  • Giovanni Di Frisco

False rumor, wiiudaily let us down, it’s been 2 days and nothing, nada, not update whatsoever.

  • Giovanni Di Frisco

no update yet wiiudaily!, what happened! 2 days waiting and nothing…

  • David Kumapayi

Why did i listen to this stupid update it got me anticipating the update all week? Mr Iwata said this the update will be out this week so i will wait until Monday so there will be no excuses :). #Or eles :)

  • Alex

    The update is live!

  • metalo

    Updating!!!!!

  • Paul

    The update is finally live!

  • HylianHero7227

    Downloading now!!

  • Noel Canales

3.0.0.U everybody! its here and we have it

  • Madu

    Nice good news.
I really want Super Mario World on Virtual Console

  • Nathaniel Lopez

I rather have them work out the bugs and release it when it’s ready rather than to hastily push out a buggy app just to meet deadlines. You really can’t relax a day or two doing something else?

  • Alex

Hey Buddy relax or take a chill pill, Nintendo is hard at world releasing this updat all over the world, and stop saying stupid things over a few hours tardy.

Worse than EA…wow I think you might need to take a breather…just calm down…things happen, I’m sure you can relate. We all can’t be perfect.

  • Pikachief

They never said the update was today. This website did, but Nintendo didn’t.

  • panic atyourmoms

Now that is just throwing a tantrum

  • Nathaniel Lopez

Actually other websites have said the same.

  • Haize

Toddlers should be in bed by now.

  • Nathaniel Lopez

What I meant is that I’m sure you can relate to not being perfect and technically the update is free, so…yeah…

  • Alex

Sorry I meant “hard at work” man hate my IPad.

  • Christopher Bass

There’s 26 min left today if ur on the east coast so they didn’t lie yet

  • Nathaniel Lopez

Why, I’m not being charged for it and they haven’t announced any VC titles I’m looking forward to other than Earthbound but I can wait for that. I got MH3U and that’s taking over my life, had to put it down for a little while, lol.

  • Nathaniel Lopez

I find that somehow hard to believe, not that I’m discrediting you.

  • Haize

No. If you had a billion dollars you would be rich, but you would still be an ignorant fool and that’s far from perfect.

  • Nathaniel Lopez

    Why are posts disappearing..?

  • Nathaniel Lopez

    Lol, nvm there they are.

  • Antar Rodríguez

and may i ask who clearly post it?

  • Nathaniel Lopez
  • Antar Rodríguez

i dont think thats an official nintendo source, but anyways they just posted that the update its not coming tonight

  • Nathaniel Lopez

Yeah, I know it’s not an official Nintendo source but they did use sources. So it’s the next best thing.

  • TrueWiiMaster

They said the VC would come by the end of Tuesday. If they were lying, we wouldn’t know yet.

  • Haize

Oh okay. Your wise words have made me see the error in my ways. Thank you.
