Wii U Daily’s E3 2013 Nintendo Booth Tour [VIDEO]

Nintendo’s booth is always the best of the big three and this year there was no exception. We took a quick walk around the booth to give you an idea of what it looks like this year, including all the great games you can play. Every single kiosk that is available is a brand new game that hasn’t been released yet and they’re all Wii U games.

Booth girls babes walk around with two 3DSes attached to their belt to let you play some of the new 3DS games, but all the kiosks are devoted to Wii U games. Check it out and let us know what you think and stay tuned for our photo post of all the best of Nintendo’s E3 booth.

Nintendo may not have announced what a lot of the fans had wanted, but they still did very, with circumstances in mind. The booth seemed like it was buzzing pretty well.

    • Denvy

They really did announce a lot of cool games and I’ll probably end up getting most. you’re right, not what a lot of fans wanted, but a good offering nonetheless.

      • Elem187

I was super happy and satisified with the Nintendo direct on Tuesday… I think some Nintendo “fans” are just self entitled gamers who think a company shouldn’t try to make money and instead should try to please them specifically and nobody else.

From a business perspective, it makes alot more sense to release the titles that sell, and hold off on those fun niche and experimental titles that Nintendo loves to do until a few years later when there is a larger userbase to introduce to the niche games.

    • D.M.T

I wanted to slap people who were disappointed with Nintendo’s E3 Direct.

I know they wanted a Metroid game but Donkey Kong is cool too and it’s coming this November. I wanted a DK game on Wii U and I’m happy that we’re getting it

I know we all expected a huge Mario game like Mario Galaxy but Nintendo wanted a Mario game to be released this year, not in 2014 which is why they chose Mario 3D World. This game will be a lot of fun so people should stop complaining.

I truly believe that we will get a new Metroid, Star Fox and even F-Zero game on Wii U. People just need to be patient. It wouldn’t be smart of Nintendo to give us all the cool games at once, they need to give us some cool games in 2013, some cool games in 2014, some cool games in 2015 etc.

      • Pikachief

I just wanted another fresh take at mario and mario kart like theyve done for new consoles for the past 30 years. Even just one of them. And even just a mention of the new zelda wouldve been nice.

I already own these games on 3DS so i know they’ll be tons of fun and day one purchases, but compared to sony and microsoft and the fact that the ps4 is only $50 more, im largely disappointed. Still excited for these games, but I still felt very underwhelmed.

        • D.M.T

Actually the Wii U itself is $300 so that’s $100 less than PS4. if you add Nintendo Land and other accessories than yes it’s $350. We will still get a huge Mario game in the future but right now Mario 3D World was the smart thing to do. Mario Kart is not very different from the 3DS and Wii versions but Mario Kart 8 will still be better in my opinion.

Microsoft is no competition for Nintendo this next gen so don’t even compare Wii U with Xbox One. I know i shouldn’t judge so soon but I don’t expect a lot of people to buy that anti-consumer console for $500.

          • Pikachief

Thats all true, I’ve just been really impressed with the Wii U so far (my 3rd favorite nintendo console so far) and since theyre falling behind in wowing people with new games I was expecting a lot more. Theyre obviously just working strategically.

Also if you took the camera away from the XB1 like sony’s doing it would probably be $350-$400. But I guess thats also part of their anti-consumer issue hahaha. Like I said I’m excited about it, but considering the circumstances I think most people just expected something more or new.

          • Elem187

my opinion is it is very business savvy to try to put out as many high selling games as possible first to build an audience.
As much as I love metroid, it just doesn’t make business sense to release it right now when the system desperately needs sales… Metroid sold 500k last gen. DKCR sold 5 million.
Releasing a new DK will sell ALOT more systems than a new Metroid game would.. So from a business perspective, expect the high volume selling games to come first

          • RockGod

NOPE! Sony will be packaging a cam and mic device w/ every PS4, calling it the PS4EYE or something like that. The reason? So ALL 3rd party games will come w/ same restrictions (or as close as they can get it) as XBONE games. I never paid much attention to this before but look at the pics of PS4, you can clearly see the console, the controller, and what is that camera looking thing? exactly!

          • Pikachief

            http://www.gametrailers.com/side-mission/54359/ps4-comes-with-a-500-gb-hdd-hdmi-cable-headset-camera-sold-seperately

Sadly it doesn’t. Its $60 as are the controllers. I can easily see Kinect being a more high-tech device costing more and thus bringing the 2 consoles themselves to about the same value, without a camera. But the ps4 has a bit better hardware I believe, so i really think it just comes down to how you feel about the restrictions and the games. I’m more excited about Titanfall, Halo, and the 3rd party games more than what sony has and the anti-consumer stuff doesnt bother me one bit so I can’t wait for XB1 personally.

          • oontz

Ps4 doesn’t include the eye cam

          • RockGod

It gets worse with the recent admission by Sony that only 1st party games will be free of restrictions. Sony’s dirty little secret is ALL 3rd parties can cram ALL the restrictive DRM in their games on PS4 EXACTLY like they have on their XBONE counterparts. In short 95% of PS4 games will be the same as 100% of XBONE games. ONLY 1st party Sony? that’s NOT how they made it sound at E3! A real bitch move by Sony, It’s nearly a COMPLETE LIE!

          • D.M.T

I’m not surprised at all RockGod. The only company that I trust is Nintendo. I don’t remember when was the last time Nintendo lied to us. They are honest people and they apologize for their mistakes. Nintendo 4 life!!!

          • oontz

It’s the same policy they have with ps3… how many ps3 games have restrictive drm? ZERO

        • Elem187

Super Mario 3D World is on 3DS? MAn I wish I knew that before I purchased Super Mario 3D Land… does it have the HD textures on the 3DS too? Does it run in 720p and 60fps ?

          • Pikachief

If what you just stated were the only differences then yes they would be the same game and that would make it an HD remake lol

Good thing i know it isn’t the same game and what I said was just a dumb sarcastic comment that I like to make. I know it’ll have new characters, power ups, areas, abilities, 4-player co-op (a first in 3D mario! Very excited for that!) and im sure new areas and more. I already said i’ll buy it day one and im excited for it :P

Its just hard to say that nintendo doesnt do re-hashes now and this E3 will definitely sell to those so said “i’ll buy a wii u as soon as something really good / mario / mario kart is on it.” But I cant see this selling much passed that crowd.

          • John Raybell

well its not far from being a 3ds title, its a sequel to a 3ds game, graphics are very close, yeah the wiiu is much more detailed but the art style and engine seem very close to that of the 3ds version. most mario titles push the console, really show off what nintendo can do with a system, this showed they can pretty much port 3ds titles and make them look a bit better. nothing WOW about 3d mario world, will be fun and all, but not really impressive AT ALL.

        • John Raybell

yeah very underwhelmed as well. maybe nintendo should have started making games earlyer, the way i see it the nintendo 64 launched with mario 64, at least the wiiu could of had “that new title by now, not a more simple one that took less time, they had time, either that or they rushed the wii u.

Will still play these games and enjoy them but pretty meh about the whole thing as of right now.

    • bizzy gie

They had the most playable games. People think the press conference is the most important part of E3. It’s not. The press conference only lasts an hour (give or take). The demo booths are why E3 lasts days. It’s what you do Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Hey Ashley, did you get some quality time with Wind Waker HD?!!

    • http://about.me/overlordror Ashley King

I did! Expect a video up soon. The wifi in our hotel is crap so uploading videos is a real pain.

      • bizzy gie

Let me guess. You’re staying in a hotel close to the E3 building?

  • SH*TBLOCK

I am happy with all the games coming to the U and with what trailers I have seen hands down good job Nintendo…BUT I wanted more, something outside the box for once, some new partnership with some cool game, some new adult Western adventure or RPG style IP, anything along those lines. Like I wrote in Miiverse and on the forums here before, even if it bombs, at least they try something new….show the world they tried something new.

    • Stuart Thomas

Was the “coming soon” there before, and why is it tetris themed.

    • Elem187

I swear I think gamers have the most narrow view of business in general. They really cannot see the forest through the trees. Case in point the meltdowns that happened because Nintendo didn’t announce an epic 3d Mario successor to Galaxy. Meltdowns because Ninty didn’t announce metroid… Meltdowns because Nintendo didn’t introduce a new IP yet…. Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, SSB sells systems…. after the userbase is built up, then they can experiment and have fun releasing the niche titles that the core Nintendo fans want to see.

    • RockGod

To be fair SH*TBLOCK, Nintendo releases new IPs every gen… just off top of my head Eternal Darkness on GCN and TWO Endless Ocean games on Wii. These games were excellent, but didn’t sell nearly as many units as they should have. Ironically the reason they didn’t sell so great… because they were new IPs.

  • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Wait… you mean Nintendo WAS at E3? And people were crowding around to see what they had offered and interacting with the system. Not just listening to some speech on stage.

    • RockGod

MIND BLOWING isn’t it? Who would’ve ever guessed?

  • MTGSWE

Awesome :D Almost all of those games will be mine >:D

    • Nintedward

The only problem with Nintendo atm , is overwhelming us innocent fans with too many games. Right now I’m trying to Juggle : Revelations HD , Fire emblem (UK just launched) , Luigi’s Mansion 2 , DKCR3D (got free as part of promotion) and more old games…. it’s hard , I don’t know where to jump in!

And Animal crossing comes out tomorow and I have the perfect credit note to buy it with -_-

      • MTGSWE

The animal crossing game made the 3ds jump 4 times in sale last week :O What an impact from that game alone. There is so many games from Nintendo, I fear I will not have money for it.

      • Shaise Mughal

Thats a good thing in my opinion! The console has a good library!

      • RockGod

I feel your pain man, it must be even harder on you having a 3DS as well though. I just upgraded my Wii to the Wii U, so I only need to focus on that. That said I’ve only beaten about half of my Wii U games w/ lots of regular Wii games still to beat too.. like Pandora’s Tower which was released here in the US after the Wii U launch. I’ve no complaints whatsoever on lack of games…

  • Nintedward

Well … that doesn’t look like the funnest thing ever.

    Said absolutely no one.

  • JWHO

They should do a both like that every year!!

    • http://people.ign.com/kevinxdxd kevinxDxD

Or… A booth for every gaming convention out there!

  • D.M.T

I will own most of the games that Nintendo is giving us. The only ones I won’t buy are Wii Party U and Wii Fit U but I’m buying everything else.

I have a feeling that I will be a Wii U-only gamer this gen. I’m not a big fan of shooting games so I won’t buy a PS4 for those type of games. I’ll buy the few available for Wii U like Splinter Cell, Watch Dogs, Metroid etc.

    • Guest

Me too! I’m definitely be a WiiU only gamer! Nothing that Sony or Microsoft presented interested me the least! I completely detest shooters, fighting or movie-wannabe game drama!

      • John Raybell

that’s a sad gamer, only a wiiu gamer, so your telling me that you wont be gaming much at all these next few years?

At least buy a Pc, the wiiu needs either another console beside it or a gaming computer, no way in hell is it a stand alone console. NOT ENOUGH GAMES

Or at least have a 3ds, now days, if we want nintendo games we need both the handheld and console, they are starting to mix titles, putting console games on 3ds and 3ds games on wiiu.

So yeah a WiiU only just wont cut it.

        • Leo

I have a 3DS but for home consoles i chose WiiU. Problem?

          • John Raybell

nope, like i said at least a wiiu and a 3ds, but not only a wiiu, a gamer just wouldnt have much to play with this single console, as of right now, but having a 3ds as well with a wiiu is a great combo.

I my come off as a hater, talk crap, what ever, the games they showed off were not bad, just not really what people thought they were going to be or be like.

I will get almost everything they showed off at E3 and enjoy the hell out of it, im just disappointed we have to wait years for another full mario title as well as a full retro title.

Would have loved to see some reboots as well, adventure island reboot as well as some other nessnes, or at least put the effort they are into the wiiU as they do with the 3ds right now, its got tons of great games out and a bunch more coming, was almost more impressed with what the 3ds will have to offer :(.

But im no nintendo hater, i just hope they do better so they can stay around, if i had it my way i would be 90 and still playing a new nintendo console. grew up with them, latly they have just been a little disappointing is all, and i may over react at times i know.

      • oontz

        so no smashbros?

        • Leo

I never really liked Smashbros so i don’t care for it. The fighting genre never appealed to me.

    • Shaise Mughal

me too, I dont plan on getting a ps4 or xbox one

    • RockGod

The Rock will also be playing as a Wii U only gamer this gen. I like your style, as I will be getting (and passing) on a lot of the same games. Happy gaming my friend.

      • D.M.T

        Thanks man you too :D

  • Jack5221

What does a regular guy like me have to do to get into E3. :( They always look like so much fun, I really want to go to one.

    • Pikachief

      $900 last i checked lol

    • oontz

create a simple site like wiiudaily?

  • TheImaj

    “Don’t…….attack my eyes!” – Miyamoto

  • Elem187

why not? Nintendo was the only of the 3 companies that showed games in 60 fps… Sony and Microsoft showcased their slideshow of 30fps games.

Seriously, why do you put up with inferior, subpar experiences and gaming in less than 30fps?? its 2013, why is Sony and Microsoft living in the past of game design?

  • RockGod

LOL.. I saw what you did there, beat him at his own game. Nicely done!

  • John Raybell

Hate to say it but your wrong, ps4 and xbox one showed more then a few games running in 60fps.

You must be one of those ignorant fanboys.

  • oontz

    You are wrong… bottom line.
