Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams headed to Wii U eShop in August

giana-sisters

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams has been available on PC for almost a full year now, but according to the developer the title will be releasing on Wii U soon. Black Forest Games has stated that the game has been submitted to Nintendo and is currently awaiting feedback. If that process goes well, the game will see release on the Nintendo eShop in August.

The game is a retro-revival platformer of the 1987 release Giana Sisters. The game is currently on sale for $2.99 on Steam, while developer Black Forest Games has another Kickstarter going for a new game called Ravensdale. It’s currently $33k into its $500k goal with 25 days to go.

hope it won’t cost that much

  • Marcus Navarro

Game looks fantastic! Would love it on the Wii U! Just two things that bother me:

    A) It would feed into Nintendo haters’ perspective of the Wii U as a “kiddy console.”

    B) Will it cost more than it does on Steam? The developers need to make their money as well. It would do well if it costs less than it does on Steam.

    • http://about.me/overlordror Ashley King

It’s normal price is $14.99 on Steam. Right now it’s on flash sale for $2.99. I included that for people who have a gaming capable PC who might want to check it out for such a low price.

      • Shota

        $2,99 is a steal

        • Joey

          LOL thats sounds like $2,990,00.00 j/k you made a mistake in typo not a comma “,” but it’s a period “.” = $2.99 :)

          • Shota

            my bad XD

    • Magnus Eriksson

Wake up! Nintendo IS for childrens! But you as a grown up can have fun with it too. But it is made for children.

      • Zombie Boy

Most games consoles are made for children. I sure as hell know I’ve been playing them since I was a kid! Sure, some games are aimed at a more mature audience, but not the consoles themselves. And the Wii U has mature titles too, not just the Playstation and XBox.

        • Magnus Eriksson

Im 34 years old. I grew up with Nintendo. It was an important part of my childhood, and I like to relive that through both new and old games. New games to wonder of the development and evolution of games, old ones to relive through nostalgic experiences. Or have a great time with my childrens and girlfriend. Its made for childrens, but can be really fun for us adults too. I really dont understand why that should be a problem.

          • Zombie Boy

I agree with you completely, I was just clarifying a point that should’ve been made :)

          • Sidney Majurie

By your own assessment, and as Nintendo has stated and shown for decades, Nintendo is for everyone. SMH LOL.

          • Magnus Eriksson

            LOL, can you read? LOL

          • Sidney Majurie

You make it very hard to read and comprehend your comments when they are full of fractured, incomplete sentences, subject-verb disagreement (“…time with my childrens…” WTF, LOL), and so on.

You can’t say something is made for children and then say adults can enjoy it too. That would be an oxymoron. But hey, I have trouble reading -_-

          • Magnus Eriksson

Nope, thats not an oxymoron. You shouldnt use words you dont know the meaning of. Its not an oxymoron to say that my oldest kid likes to drive my car, although its not made for childrens. If a fourteen year old person likes beer, is beer then made for fourteen year old persons? An oxymoron is a contradictio in terminis. Like a clever stupid (what is actually exactly what oxy+moron means). Something that is a and is not a at the same place at the same time. You should read your Aristotle, he knows all of this. Look in the Categories at Metaphysics book 5. There you are my friend. :)

          • ranjeybaby

my favourite example is bitter sweet. and in Sidneys defence your comments are a bit difficult to read.

          • Magnus Eriksson

Im not a native english speaker.Bitter sweet is really not an oxymoron either. Something can be both bitter and sweet at the same time. Jägermeister and grapefruits for example.

          • ranjeybaby

            that’s sour not bitter.

          • Sidney Majurie

Derp derp, condescending barb, derp, false equivalent analogy, derp.
            Did I get that right?

            Paragraph response unnecessary.
Must have really got to you…

          • Magnus Eriksson

No not really. You should really not complain about other people writing when you use foreign words without knowing the logical meaning of it. I actually respect you as a fellow human being, and therefor takes time to teach you when you do wrong. Without calling you names and the like. If you get mad and angry because I taught you something you didnt knew, the fault is yours not mine.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Looks like the other way around to me. Otherwise, you wouldn’t need to prove anything. Looks like he really got to you. Comment back unnecessary, unless I really got to you.

          • Guest

            Keep dancing :)

          • Sidney Majurie
          • Daniel Gonzalez

Since when is the internet an english class? Lol. I understood him just fine despite a few mishaps.

          • Sidney Majurie

He asked me if I had a problem with reading. To your girls defense as usual I see :D

          • Magnus Eriksson

So mad just because someone told you the truth and you want to live with a lie. You should read Platos analogy of the cave.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Most people have a hard time admitting. It’s human nature.

          • Sidney Majurie

Awwww how cute. Defense reciprocation amongst anonymous men over the internet. And I’m the one who’s living a lie? LOL.

Spare me the pseudo-intellectual gobbly gook. I’m a student of Arnheim’s New Essays on the Psychology of Art and Art and Visual Perception. I wrote and elegant paper on it for my college thesis that earned me an A-

But WHO CARES?!? LOL. This is a Nintendo videogamer website :D

EDIT: I’m mad but you and your chappy D.G. give my comments emotional down votes? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Obviously you do since you cared to bring it up. For someone who claims to dabble in psychology, you do a horrible job at lying. For someone who is majoring in it, you can’t even diagnose your own issues. You try to lay them on others and excuse your own. :) LOL. Someone sounds really full of themselves.

Exactly, this is a Nintendo site, not psychology, so leave your poor perception of it out. :) Also, you are mad, that’s why you went as far as to brag about getting an A on your college thesis. You contradict yourself each and every time. Give it up.

You’re the one who is taking this far too serious. :)

          • Sidney Majurie

Man… You’re really hard up for this guy huh? Replying to comments for him lol. This is getting embarrassing. You have trouble with reading comprehension and understanding context. I’m majoring in something? My sarcasm exscapes you. I’m going to buy you some hand symbols and a cute hat to wear since you like dancing to my tune so much :D

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I love how he’s defending himself with insults. It just shows how it got to him and can’t handle it. Silly people over net. :)

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Sorry, I have a gf, but thanks for trying. :) You sound very homophobic? Or perhaps this is your way of coming out of the closet? :D I think so. Just remember, you brought in the insults, not me bro. :)

Besides, it’s quite clear that english is not his first language. That wasn’t hard to figure out, perhaps just for you. Next time, try commenting without the usual insults that always fail. Good day now. :)

          • Sidney Majurie

Now I’m a gay homophobe because I point out how you always feel the need to run to the defense of anonymous men over the internet who don’t ask for your assistance and are perfectly capable of defending themselves?

He may be your best friend, but I didn’t know English wasn’t his first language. If that’s the case, perhaps he should think twice about questioning other people’s reading capabilities.

You have a severe case of Trait Projection, as well as a streak of Passive-Aggressiveness. You need to get that looked at by a professional :)

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You seem to have a streak of something, but I’m sure it is Trait Projection. :) I’m not the one who insulted you, so that PA thing you throw on me defeats your arugment. Try harder my friend. If you don’t like the insults, then you shouldn’t throw them yourself in the first place.

Also, I’m not his best friend, but I can clearly see that English wasn’t his first language to begin with, it’s obvious to anyone who pays attention enough to notice. Not my problem you jump at people without a second thought.

As for running to defense of people, that one was more funnier than your Trait Projection claims. I comment on your posts cause well this is a public forum and if I think you’re being a douche, I will point that out. If you hate it that much, then social media isn’t for you. :)

Regardless, you’re a done deal and have nothing left that interests me. Next time, try leaving insults out, otherwise, you lose credibility at default. You’re not worth a response back after this, so don’t waste your time. :)

            Good day buddy. :)

          • Sidney Majurie

The guy insulted me first by saying “I have trouble reading,” and then he gets offended when I call him on his English. WTF?

But we both know why you’re here crying don’t we? I owned you so severely in our last tit for tat that you just had to say something else to me LOL. I own your mind now. Don’t worry you’re not the first or the last.

-again says I’m not with your time and writes an essay response. LOL. But I am extremely entertained :D

            Please…keep dancing…

          • Magnus Eriksson

Even if my english isnt flawless I probably understand more languages than that guy, so no problem. Swedish, norwegian, english, latin and greek for a start. But really, that doesnt either change the fact that Nintendo is made for children.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Whether it’s made for children or not you’re entitled to your opinion. :P Agreed though, he had no reason to pick on your english skills. People will try to use that to defend their argument which tends to fail often. I find that to be quite childish at best. :)

          • Daniel Gonzalez

            Obviously not.

          • bizzy gie

It’s made for all ages just like the other two consoles.

      • Marcus Navarro

Nintendo is for everyone to enjoy. Nintendo wants to appeal to everyone and they do so with the Wii U with games for children, “hardcore” gamers, and violence lovers.

        • Magnus Eriksson

Its for childrens, but you can enjoy it too. Its like Disney. Who doesnt like Donald Duck&Co? Everyone does. But they are made for childrens. :)

          • Marcus Navarro

Erm…today’s Disney is on the same level as EA. I hope you know that.
But as of Disney of yesteryear, completely agree! Who wouldn’t enjoy watching Aladdin with the family?

          • bizzy gie

            It’s made for all ages.

What children can play Zombi U?

          • Magnus Eriksson

Thats a game, im talking about the console.

          • bizzy gie

The game is exclusive to the Wii U meaning that they’re clearly not only targeting children, but genuinely ALL ages.

          • Magnus Eriksson

No, it doesnt mean that. Really.

          • bizzy gie

So Ubisoft released a 17+ game exclusively on a console targeted for little children?

Bayonetta 2 is for little children?

            Makes no sense.

          • Magnus Eriksson

Oh now you tricky little boy, see what you did there… I didnt say Nintendo is made for little children, I said it was made for children. Little children sounds like 0-6 years. They are not primary audience, and no one but you ever mentioned that young kids. I said only children, and thats roughly kids between 4 to 13 as primary group and 13-17 as secondary group. That makes it first and foremost a childrens console.

          • bizzy gie

17 year olds are minors, but not children.

The Pegi rating system says Zombi U is for 18 and up.

            18-year-olds are technically considered ADULTS.

          • Adrian

            all.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Those with bad parents who don’t watch what their kids play or give in to their whiny behavior?

      • Guest

Nintendo consoles are not intended for a target market of “children” but are targeted to be accessible/enjoyable for children. Example Zombie U, Assassins Creed 3, Ninja Gaiden 3,Resident Evil,Sniper Elite,Mass Effect 3,Darksiders 2 and Black Ops 2 also not even counting Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed Black-Flag, Call of Duty Ghosts,Splinter Cell and Dues Ex, clearly when we look at these games we can come to the conclusion that the Wii U is an adult console with some games that both adults and children can access.

        • Magnus Eriksson

Have you looked at Mario or Peach? Donkey Kong, Diddy and Dixie? Even Zelda, maybe with the exception of TP (still had elements appealing mainly for childrens), is styled in what you could call childish way. And this is what Nintendo do, they makes their consoles with children as target group. Nothing bad with that.

      • Michael Jurado

lmao consoles are toys just expensive toys that adults can play so saying Nintendo is for children is a statement that can be said about every console

    • ItzameyaToad

Really who cares if it feeds in to haters perspective of the Wii U being “kiddy”, obviously they are such morons that they can’t do any research and see that there are more mature titles on the system. Also if they are dead set that the Wii U is a “kiddy” console chances are they will look to another game to call “kiddy”, I say just ignore them they will always try and find something wrong with Nintendo consoles.

      • Guest

I never said it was wrong. But its still made for childrens. Look at Mario, DK, Pikmin etc. Clearly made for children. :)

        • ItzameyaToad

Made to be accessable for children, they are not directly aimed at children. Little Big Planet is a game made for everyone without a specific age group targeted, the same applies with Mario, DK, Pikmin. Nintendo does a good job making it to where both adults/teens and children are able to play there games. Just because a child can access Mario easyier doesn’t make him targeted towards children.

  • Ben Ifits

To Nintendo haters who consider them “kiddie” “Critics who treat ‘adult’ as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. C.S Lewis.

    • Marcus Navarro

      ^This!
You forgot the closing quote, so PLAGIARISM!!! jk

      • Jon

it’s only plagiarism is he takes the credit as his own so really, it’s not plagiarism even more so, he did reference the author

        • Marcus Navarro

I was poorly emulating a hard-ass professor. Calm your nipples. See MetroidZero’s post for reference.

          • Michael Jurado

            “Calm your nipples” lmfao!!!

          • Jon

but I like my nipples :)

      • MetroidZero

Tell that to my Psychology professor who called me to her office because I used a direct quote with the correct citations (which she admitted to too)….and she said it was plagiarism…-_-

        • Magnus Eriksson

It depends on the context. But correct citations is not plagarism per se. But it can be.

    • Ducked

Are you saying you want a new Narnia game on the Wii U?

    • Nintedward

And this is exactly what seperates Nintendo fans/Multiplat gamers from the narrow minded twits who call themselves ”mature games”…. assholes.

I’m 22 and I play all sorts of games! Pikmin 3 and Pokemon X and Y are my most anticipated games this year, closesl followed by GTAv

      • Magnus Eriksson

I think you spelled 12 wrong there my friend :)

        • Nintedward

Says the washed up middle aged troll, lol.

          • Sidney Majurie

            LOL!

      • Michael Jurado

I know how you feel I’m 23 and I can’t wait for Wonderful 101 and Pokemon x/y but as for GTA V …. yeah well I rather play Saints Row IV simply b/c GTA V just looks crappy.

        • Daniel Gonzalez

I beg to differ. Personally, I hate Saint’s Row. It’s an okay franchise and got a few laughs out of it. GTA V looks great and whether it looks crapy or not will sell like hotcakes. Just my two cents. It’s not for everyone so no big deal.

          • Nintedward

Agreed. GTA shits on Saints row :)

          • Daniel Gonzalez

            I’m looking foward to V. :)

        • Agent721

Saints Row absolutly sucks. I loved the first one, but the latter ones are utterly stupid. Im 37 & its just too jr. high stupid for me. GTA does social commentary well….Saints Row…not so much.

          • Michael Jurado

all I want is the Giant Mech lol i’m a huge robot fan I can’t wait for X that game is going to be awesome!!!

      • Andrew W Garttmeyer

32 here and play NES and ps3.

    • slade6alpha

I’ve posted this on IGN and on youtube, great quote. Really shuts up the haters.

    • Adrian

This quote is incorrect, because there are childish themes in our culture as well as adult themes. I agree there is no reason that an adult can’t enjoy the childish themed toys, but that doesn’t mean the toy is not childish. I don’t necessarilly think Nintendo is childish, but I do think certain games are (such as scribblenaughts). If your opinion is different, so be it, but I do think you are fooling yourself.

That being said, I think the line between adult and child shouldn’t be fine. It should be a big blurry mess. I, for one, will go on for the rest of my life loving video games, anime, silly things, and laughing at …well everything. I’m 25 now, but don’t feel too different than I did 15 years ago. Sure now I know the world is a terrible place, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be happy and have some fun! Pahaha. :D

  • Magnus Eriksson

Cool! Had the original on my Amiga500. Great game then, probably a great game now too. :)

  • Jon

I really like the art style of this game, I’ll be sure to check it out :)

  • http://www.w-o-n.org/ GoldDreams

      • Adrian

It isn’t, but not because of anything you just said. :)

  • Zakariyya Al-Quran

    hello

  • Arthur Jarret

Played the ps3 demo – it looks amazing… it’s a very pretty game.

I didn’t care much for the actual gameplay, though… might be worth a purchase for me when it’s on sale for the current steam-price.

  • Adrian

3 dollars on steam, 15+ dollars on Nintendo eshop :( I bet.

    • Michael Jurado

well it’s 2.99 while it’s on sale but, that’s only for PC and for a limited time, after that sale it’ll probably go back up to 14.99.

      • Adrian

        Ah, Still Sadness.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

Steam has sales quite often, so you’d get it for cheap if you wait. I bought mine for $7.49 last year. This years summer sale was a lot better than the last.

  • Michael Jurado

what’s this game about I demand a review make it happen Ashley I want commentary too lol

  • greengecko007

Oh look, yet another colorful 2D platformer… Looked up the trailer and gameplay videos, and unless you’re the type of gamer that simply has to have every platformer game, the only thing this game has going for it is the pretty graphics. Nothing special about this game at all.

  • https://soundcloud.com/rauschenmaschine Kristian Kouvo

Am gonna buy this on day 1.

  • Grulnork

Just bought it on steam from the money i made from selling cards :) First level was fun.

  • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

Definitely picking this up. have it on steam but can’t run it :3

  • Ryan

I downloaded the demo of this on PS3. Graphics were really nice but there was a lot of screen tearing which really ruined it.

Also the swapping of worlds happens a lot, you have to jump, swap worlds to collect something, then swap back before you land. The entire screen colours shift in this time. A cool idea and looks good, but I think it would make me be sick after a while.

Also love the irony of this making it to a Nintendo machine, after the original on the A500 was a blatant copy of SMB1 causing Nintendo to shut it down :)
