SmashMarioSkyloft610

Since the announcement of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS in the E3 Nintendo Direct, we’ve gotten a good look at many of the arenas that will be featured in the upcoming game. Some of them feature from new characters such as the Yoga Studio from Wii Fit and Smashville, based on the Animal Crossing villager character.

These are just a handful of the currently known stages that will be in the game. What do you think of the new stages? What would you like to see added? Let us know in the comments below!

I might get the Wii SSB

Welcome, long time SSB fan! I hope SSB Wii U rises above your expectations!

        • Ducked

I hope it rises above your expectations too!

    • Madmagican

Wait, first? How old are you?

      • QuizmasterBos

You shouldn’t assume that a person is very young if they never played a Super Smash Bros. game before. My first game was Super Smash Bros. Brawl and I was 16 when I got it on launch day back in 2008.
I already owned a GameCube before then, but never played (or got to play) Melee. So it’s possible NintendoNoob is even older than you, we don’t know.

        • Madmagican

Huh, I guess I was lucky in the respect that my older brother already had all the classics when I was growing up; he intro’d me to the N64 with Star Fox and F-Zero and OoT and from there I was hooked which led to me playing a crap-ton of 1st party nintendo titles

      Can’t wait for “Smash” Luigi’s face >:)

You’ll find Luigi’s face difficult to “Smash”. He’s more than player 2 and he’ll prove it again here! ;-)

        • TULFich

          I know…….still great song XD

    • ConCity Soldier

Technically it’ll be my first SSB game also. I played Smash Bros 64 at my cousins house, and with friends at my old house back on Nintendo 64. I loved the N64 and it’s my all time favorite game console, but no one ever bought me Smash Bros. So, I never owned a Smash Bros game to myself. It always belonged to someone else when I played it. But this time it’ll be my very own SSB game.

    • Tim van Broekhoven

Can’t wait for my second! !!

    Spring 2014 Y U NO Come Sooner

    • Billy_Perry

Might be wrong but isn’t it just 2014, Mario Kart 8 is Spring, but I’m pretty sure Super Smash Bros Wii U is simply 2014. Which I suspect will be fall 2014.

      • Link00

        or…..JANUARY 1st!

        • gimpcell

They wouldnt miss on holiday sales like that.

      • Shawn Spitler

For sure. We probably have over a year before we see this on the shelves. =[

  • Cube

I just want more stages like similar to PowerStone for DreamCast

  • http://www.mpt-online.eu/ Sylux

This is one of the games I’m looking forward to, next year as far as possible arena’s I would love to some random arenas maybe from Last Story, Xenoblade Chronicles, and extra mega man stage(s)
    Suggestions would be:
    1.Satori Marsh (Xenoblade chronicles)
    2. Elryth Sea (Xenoblade Chronicles)
    3. Bionis left shoulder (Xenoblade Chronicles) was cut from the final game but the map is in the game during a cutscene and someone went there on a rom check it yourself on YT.
    4. Maybe Fire man stage or some other stages from Mega Man.
    5. The Ballroom from the castle in Last Story.
    6. Lazulis Island itself perhaps? (Last story)
    That’s my two cents.

    • Pebbicle

Umm what’s the point of having stages from games who’s characters aren’t even in SSBU? :s

      • Pikachief

To reference other games even though the character might’ve not fit within the smash bros game or just wasn’t able to get added due to space, etc.

That being said, I’d rather not have Xenoblade and Last Story stages :P

      • sdmac200600

Did it with brawl with the animal crossing stage and the pictochat stage.

        • greengecko007

          There was also Hanenbow.

      • Ryan Carney

Smashville was in Brawl even though there was no Villager character

      • http://www.mpt-online.eu/ Sylux

Wow so many downvotes lol (my comment)

As for the answer give a good reason as of why no stages from chars not in the game, it has been done before so I see no reason as of why not care to explain perhaps? (not ment offensive, all I ask is a explanation as of why it would be such a bad idea) Or anyone care to explain for that matter, it’s been done before it could very well be a honor to specific games let’s say use an area and build a floating stage around it, brawl supported customized stages people could make, using bg’s that had little or nothing at all to do with all the chars in brawl, and also related to brawl chars.

Seeing the negativity towards it I could just as well say: forget I suggested anything at all, even though it makes more sense then adding chars like Bayonetta to ssbu or scorpion for that matter.

  • Juan Benitez

SKY SANCTUARY ZONE! If Nintendo puts that as a stage This would be an instant buy!

  • Juan Benitez

Doesn’t the wrestling arena hint that little Mac might be playable character?

    • Christopher Acuna

I wouldn’t think so since Little Mac is a Boxer. ;)

    • sdmac200600

Well there was an animal crossing stage in brawl but he wasn’t in the game.

    • Darkmetroidomega

      I certainly hope so! :3

    • Jeffery02

If they keep the assist trophies, then I doubt it.

  • Srpg2ishere

Can’t wait to beat the crap out of my brother in this game. XD

  • Mochlum

Yay, I’ve been hoping somebody would do this. You just raised my hype 9000% more, which I didn’t know was possible.

  • Christopher Acuna

Shut up and take my money!

  • XroyD
    • Kmac

      lol nice

  • greengecko007

Having different stages between the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game is absolutely great, as it means that the 3DS version will be a viable game, rather than an inferior handheld version. DLC stages would probably work well too, if Nintendo feels like implementing that sort of thing.

  • Antar Rodríguez

guess it´ll be available till holidays 2014 :(

  • Jon

they all seem to be platforms over a pit of death…… the backgrounds look great but I’d rather fight on the stage itself, not a couple of platforms with the stage in the background. I was expecting an epic Zelda Stage like they usually are :( Now.. the backgrounds and stuff looks great, I just hope they give us some really fun stages that are not just platforms.

    • Antar Rodríguez

well maybe itll be like mario sunshine stage on brawl wher you travel in those platforms to different parts of the stage stoping at one and youll be able to play in that part of the stage then again travel to another part

      • Jon

yeah, maybe. I hope it is at least like that :) I just don’t like a whole lot of levels that would be like the battlefield stage

    • CEObrainz

That’s the thing. The more competitive playing fan-base for Smash Bros loves the platform style stages. So hopefully there is a balance between the platform and more unique style stages.

    • greengecko007

I would assume there would be more than one Zelda stage in the game. The first game had one, Melee had two, Brawl had two new and one old, so I’m going to assume that unless Nintendo takes a big step backwards with the series, that there will be more than one Zelda stage.

  • lozman1122

for the 3DS version, i’d like to have a fire emblem stage where you fight on the back of Grima. That’d be legit. For the Wii U, I’d like a Mario Galaxy themed stage.

    • Pikachief

I’d be shocked if there wasn’t! But would be able to fight “upside down” underneath the stage as well? :o

      • lozman1122

Absolutely! I need to pick up that game. Good times had while playing that. Good times.

    • Kike Lucis Caelum

There’s a Fire Emblem stage in the 3DS :) Arena Ferox, something like that…

      • lozman1122

Huh. I didn’t even think of that as a stage, but it makes sense. Maybe they’ll have both!:O

  • Link00

    10 out of 10…..beautiful

  • Ducked

The game that everyone will be over at your house for new years playing it for 5 competitive hours!

    Can’t wait! :)

  • Brandon Betlej

    These stages look horrible

    • Starfoxguy

It is still early in development. Im sure they are gonna polish up the graphics.

      • sillybajillies

Not just the graphics, the designs too.

  • Starfoxguy

This is the game that will boost Wii U sales.

    • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Which is why I wish it was coming out this fall

      • XroyD

        I Can’t wait!

      • Shawn Spitler

Or at least by Christmas. Sheesh!

        • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Well Seeing as Christmas is December 24th/25th and winter does not technically start until December 21st saying out by this fall covers up until Christmas.

Not trying to be a smart ass, just clarifying my statement of “Coming out this fall”

      • Starfoxguy

I’d rather wait cause “a rushed game will be forever bad.” -Shigeru Myamoto.

        • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

          Oh I agree… Just excited I guess

    • Jeffery02

This, Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, and Pikmin 3 IMO.

  • discuss

FFS Nintendo why a Wii fit Trainer stage.

    • sdmac200600

      Well…she’s in the game sooooo……..

      • discuss

Putting that abomination into the game was the first mistake.

        • Andrew Chambers

          Why the hate?

        • Jeffery02

Every character has fans and haters. Just accept that other people love her already and wait to actually try her out before you judge. Everyone was shocked to find R.O.B. in Brawl, Mr. Game & Watch in Melee, and Ness in the original, but they were all done pretty well. I will personally see how they implement her moves before I can justify any hate or love for her. I just think she’s a funny addition.

  • sillybajillies

Honestly, I could go for some more interactive stages. All of the stages they’ve shown here (and quite a few from Brawl, some from Melee, and one or two from N64) seem to be just magical platforms floating in front of interesting backgrounds.

Why can’t we fight on Skyloft? I mean, if Skyloft is a series of floating islands, wouldn’t it be perfect to actually fight on them rather than some wooden planks floating in the sky above it?

Stages like Hyrule Temple, Hyrule Castle, Rainbow Cruis, and Onett kept players on their toes because they have to actively battle against the terrain as well as other characters. These stages are despised by some because they consider these gimmicks “unfair”, but they present a challenge that seperates Smash from other fighting series.

On that note, I’d love to see more stages that we interact with. Maybe stages with interesting backgrounds: maybe people watch you battle and cheer for different players, maybe objects shake and fall over when someone gets knocked down. And for the love of God, please no more floating platforms.

    • Luffy

i’m with you on that. i much prefer the interactive stage. But from what I heard from the internet and from the people i know, i’m one of the only one… well me and you!

    • The Libyan

I’m pretty sure in the trailer it showed Link running on actual Skyloft. So I think Skyloft might be like the sunshine stage in Brawl. Where a floating platform takes you to different areas in the stage and then lets you run around on the ground.

    • greengecko007

“Honestly, I could go for some more interactive stages. All of the stages they’ve shown here (and quite a few from Brawl, some from Melee, and one or two from N64) seem to be just magical platforms floating in front of interesting backgrounds.”

Have you played Brawl? The only non interactive stages in Brawl are the standard Battlefield and Final Desination stages because they are just that, the standard stages. All of the other stages in Brawl are interactive.

“Why can’t we fight on Skyloft? I mean, if Skyloft is a series of floating islands, wouldn’t it be perfect to actually fight on them rather than some wooden planks floating in the sky above it?”

Skyloft IS an interactive stage. The trailer showed players fighting while riding on the platforms, as well as when they had landed in the city grounds.

No offense, but your comment makes me think you didn’t even fully watch the trailer, and haven’t played Super Smash Bros. since the N64…

      • Andrew Chambers

Even the N64 game had interactive stages…

What I think the OP meant was that they wanted more natural stages.

        • Jeffery02

Am I the only one that misses the old Peach’s Castle stage from the N64 one? :-P That one was hectic 4 players!

    • Jeffery02

I’d love to see the path shown on Wily’s Castle just like the Mega Man games and every minute or so it moves to the next node on the path and the stage changes.

  • Lusunup

Ive already got a taste of Skyward (Project M) so it doesn’t seem new to me and Animal crossing is just a ramped up version of the brawl same goes with the new battlefield, but im really looking forward to the wrestling arena, wii fit training room but not so sure on the megaman stage.

  • CEObrainz

I’m interested in what the new final destination looks like….

  • Jack5221

I wonder what the story mode will be like. I really enjoyed Sub-Space Emissary, Im curious as to how they will top that in the next SSB game!

    • Yousif Alromaithi

The game won best game for Wii U at e3 so Nintendo felt positive about their product. Also nominated as game of the show means still they can improve and come up with better ideas to to brawl.

  • 00EpicGamer00

Wait everyone…Maybe we can find out the release date ourselves, if we travel back…in TIME! But no, seriously, let’s see what the release dates for all the smash bros were, and maybe we can predict when SSB4 will come out.
    Super Smash Bros. (N64): April 27, 1999
Super Smash Bros. Melee (GameCube): December 3, 2001
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii): March 9, 2008

Hmm…these aren’t exactly going in a pattern BUT if I were to guess. I’d say SSB4 will come out somewhere in Fall or Winter. Cause, if you look at the release dates, they’re in a somewhat pattern. It goes April (Spring), then December (Winter), then March (back to Spring again). So, even if it isn’t a very reliable pattern, it’s still something. IF SSB4 is going in the same pattern, then it will most likely release in Fall or winter. BUT that’s considering it’s going in the same pattern.

All Smash Bros. release dates were found at this site: http://www.ign.com/.

    • Pikachief

I could be wrong, but i believe melee was pretty rushed. If true, Spring would actually be what fits the closest to a “pattern”. Also I’m pretty sure Sakurai said he didnt want to even show the game unless a good amount of the game was done, so hopefully the date isnt too far. I mean the basics seem pretty much done, now its just content. And the DS and Wii U ones are getting released at different times, so who knows.

Regardless, Spring would be nice, but with the large amount of Wii U games that will be available by the end of this year, (NSMBU, NSLU, ZombiU, Nintendo Land, 2 sonic games, Deus EX, Monster Hunter, Resident Evil Revelations, W-101, Pikmin 3, Rayman, Donkeykong, Mario World, and Wind Waker HD) and Mario Kart next Spring, I can wait till Fall if need be :)

      • 00EpicGamer00

Yeah, maybe I overlooked it a little bit, but I can’t see the game coming out in Spring of 2014. Honestly, the absolute soonest time that I see is Summer. You have to remember that Sakurai has to work on all the other characters that havent been shown yet, PLUS the adventure mode, PLUS the balance of the game, AND the extra features like being able to take photos and other stuff.
BUT on the other hand, maybe you are right about a Spring release. If i’m recalling correctly, I believe Nintendo stated that they began working on SSB4 when Kid Icarus Uprising was finished. And that game was released in 2012. SO going by this information, SSB4 has been in development for about one year. So maybe a spring release isn’t too far off. But all this aside, I hope this game comes out as soon as possible.

  • Cutcopy

I hope there aren’t a lot of stages that are just three or four platforms floating above a moving background

  • Klashin

how about a mario kart 8 stage taking over the old one and introduces a gravity flip. Like sometime during the stage it would flip the gravity.

  • john

They all look like battlefield with a different background. I guess that’s good for tournament players, but I love being able to interact with a stages and see them change.

  • Kmac

    Sweet

  • 00EpicGamer00

(I can’t help myself replying to you, it’s so sad to see so many things you don’t know)
You do realize that EVERY Nintendo game IS violent in some sort of way. If you think about certain things you do in the game logically, you’ll see that Nintendo has some pretty violent stuff in their games. Like for instance, with Mario. At the end of almost ever game, you knock Bowser (a mutated animal, might I add) into boiling lava, in which his skin, muscle and bones get incinerated, and he dies a slow painful death. Also, if you’ve ever seen the big blooper boss in Super Mario sunshine. You have to literally, rip it’s arms off. Although it IS just a squid, and an enemy, try imagining YOU in that situation. How would you feel getting both your arms and legs, painfully ripped off.
Let’s look at Zelda, in every game you’re fighting loads of enemies, now like I said, if you think about how you fight them logically, it’s kind of violent. you stab enemies, some you can cut in half, some have some sort of blood coming from them. Like in Ocarina of Time. When you fight Ganondorf, blood comes from him whenever you hit him. In Zelda Twilight Princess, when you’re fighting “Beast Ganon” when you attack his scar on his stomach, blood drips from it.
Don’t even get me started on Majoras Mask. I think it’s even been said that if it wasn’t for the rating system at the time, it would of been rated T. Even Ocarina of Time has some creepy moments that would make it T rated. You know, Zombies that wanna suck your life out. Even their design is creepy enough to make you have nightmares.

  • Andrew Chambers

Did you know that there are actually third party titles on Nintendo consoles? I didn’t think so. Well, you do now.

  • 00EpicGamer00

Wow…I don’t know if you actually have the ability to read. When in my post did I say “you’re trying to be funny”? What on Earth do you mean by shut down and discredited? Do you mean that i’m hated or something? Well sorry to disappoint you, but it appears i’m not the one everyone hates. Especially if you, uh, look at my comment. I have only 1 downvote…And i’m pretty sure the downvote is from you, correct?
