Nintendo hopes to reveal the new Wii U Zelda game soon

Wii U Zelda
Nintendo is hard at work on two Wii U Zelda games. The first one is an HD remake of the GameCube hit Wind Waker, while the other is the long awaited brand new Zelda game for the Wii U.

According to Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata, they’ve got a team working on the new Wii U Zelda game now, which doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone. And he added that they hope to make an official announcement and reveal the game in the “not too distant future”.

As you probably know, the term “not too distant future” in Nintendo-speak means anywhere between 6 months to 6 years.

It makes sense that Nintendo won’t announce the new Wii U Zelda game just yet, mainly because of Wind Waker HD. From a marketing perspective, it’s a tough one for Nintendo, as they have Wind Waker coming out this Fall. Announcing any other Wii U Zelda game at this point will take focus away from Wind Waker HD.

On the other hand, there are a lot of Zelda fans out there who are dying to see the new game, and it would no doubt give hope and optimism to current Wii U owners. For now, we’ll have Wind Waker HD, which is, after all, a remake of one of the most original and unique Zelda games ever made.

And when they do, I’ll get excited about it… In the meantime, I’ll be looking forward to the games that HAVE been revealed! My wallet is only so big, Nintendo…

    • Nintedward

My wallet passed away last night :( … R.I.P you will never be forgotten. x

    • Magnus Eriksson

Yup, this is actually hyping nothing. But Windwaker looks awesome, Im very glad I didnt play it before. Too me it feels like a new Zelda on the way :D

The other Zelda prolly E3 2016 at best.

      • Zombie Boy

I’ve never played Wind Waker either, so as far as I’m concerned, THAT’S the new Zelda for now. I can see ‘Zelda U’ being late 2014 (the holiday season) at the earliest.

        • Entropyguy

Me neither, and I’m really looking forward to this re-release. Since, well, it’s new for me! :)

      • Nintedward

        E3 2016 ? lol . try a Nintendo direct in about 3-5 months.

        • Magnus Eriksson

You know what Eddie, I would just love that to be true. But I hardly think so. According to mr. Anouma its still “up in the air”. That sounds more like drawing mindmaps and gathering new ideas than actually making the game. Other statements from Anouma have been in the same category. And when both you and I know it takes some while to make a new Zelda, both of us should know we wont see anything anytime soon. And for me thats just ok. I will play WW and I know I got my Zelda injection for a while then. So far this year I played through both OoT and MM aswell as Zelda and Zelda II. With a WW on top of that Im kind of full for a while. So thinking about it I might not care if I have to wait. I would like more to see a new Metroid, even in 2D as I had a rerun at both Metroid and Super Metroid the other day and realized that those are actually really great games in a very good format. Would love a new 2D Metroid :)

      • DragonSilths

Nope they are aiming for 2014. Miyamoto said they could have shown it at E3 this year. You really think it hasn’t been in the works since the Wii U system was in a prototype stage? Now unless we get the typical Zelda 1 year delay then 2015. But not 2016. More like Metroid in 2015-2016.

        • Magnus Eriksson

I dont think its true. They could have shown a tech demo, but nothing from the game as its not done yet.

          • Linksawakeningisazeldagame

“but nothing from the game as its not done yet.”
They almost showed it at E3…

          • Magnus Eriksson

Then who lies here? Iwata or Anouma?

          • Linksawakeningisazeldagame

Miyamoto said that they alnost showed it at E3, but they didn’t want it to outshine the other Zelda’s. So I’m guessing that they are forcing Aonuma to show the game after A Link Between Worlds comes out. I would guess that what Aonuma said is what he wishes would happen, but isn’t because people are forcing him to show the game shorly after A Link Between Worlds come out. But he could be correct because he said it is still up in the air, and things could change at anytime, which means they are planning to reveal it soon, but they could change their mind.

      • Yousif Alromaithi

I think you will enjoy it Magnus. Just take your time playing the game because I think you will sink more than 40 hours in a single play-through and still you will probably have many replay-ability on this game. This game maybe your best Wii U title yet.

        • Me Gusta

Me Gusta Zelda. Me Gusta Wii U.

          • Zombie Boy

I’ve sure we’ve met somewhere before, Me Gusta. I don’t want to give away your secret identity, but… Were you once a bee?

          • Me Gusta

Me Gusta zombie games. No Me Gusta bees. Me Gusta is Me Gusta and only account ever made is Me Gusta.

          • Zombie Boy

Ah, okay then. Well keep up the good work :)

      • kahn

What? Most likely a nintendo direct in just a few months, nintendos steering away from E3, but even if they where waiting for E3 it sure as hell wouldnt be 2016, the game is scheduled to be released loosely in 2014?

        • Magnus Eriksson

Read what they said themselves. Ive linked to it in a previous post.

    • DragonSilths

Go collect some gold skulutas (spelling?) then you can get a bigger wallet lol.

      • Zombie Boy

You know, I bought a rumble pack just so that I could collect them all on N64 Ocarina Of Time… Ah, memories :)

      • kahn

        Skulltulus i think hahaha

        • Nintendude

Close, but it is Skulltulas :)

          • MrDownvote

            Get downvoted son!

  • Pikboss

This is going to be huge…. I’m overly excited!

  • Yousif Alromaithi

I have no problem in buying Wind Waker. One of my favorite titles on gamecube can’t wait to revisit.

    • Entropyguy

And I never played Wind Waker, so it’ll be nice to experience it.

      • Nintedward

”nice” ? more like ”one of the best things ever” ;)

        • wiiudaily

Agree, one of my favorite Zelda games ever.

          • Nintedward

Yep! There’s nothing ”nice” about WW… it’s absolutey the £$^&ing dogs bolloks!

          • Me Gusta

            Me Gusta wiiudaily.

        • Magnus Eriksson

I thought you were more of a “Wand of Gamelon” guy Nintendawkward. :)

          • Nintedward

I own every single TRUE Zelda game and have finished them all more than once (except Zelda 2) Not those shitty CDi ones though.

And leave the name calling out, Fagnus Shitingson.

      • Yousif Alromaithi

Hope you enjoy it because the game is one of my all time favorites so I think you will enjoy the story. Caution don’t listen to critics that criticized the Game Cube version saying bad things about the cartoonist art style because believe me that is one of the best part of the game. Pardon me babbling because no critics said awful things about this version. So assume this one to be the definite version.

        • Entropyguy

Yeah, I actually quite like the art style.

          • Yousif Alromaithi

Then you will enjoy the game much like I did. So in about three months the game will come out for newcomers to enjoy. Can’t wait.

    • Michael Jurado

I love Wind Waker it changed how we fight in the zelda universe forever :D

    • Link Slayer

      I loved WW.

  • YayGs

I don’t mind not hearing any details about the next Zelda game until E3 rolls around, otherwise it’ll be all I think about day and night.

  • Rafael Saldana

I really hope it looks like the tech demo, I wonder if it will finally have voice acting since they’re trying new things in this new game

    • Justin McCarthy

i would be a bit erked if they had voice acting, that was always part of the charm of zelda games for me, they were able to express emotion and feeling just from simple animations and sounds, and i never minded reading text at all.

    • Pikachief

I’m almost positive they’ve already confirmed it wont. More than once too.

    • insomniac

oh i hope not…..nintendo leased TLoZ out in the 90s and gave him a voice…..and to be completely honest it was worse than awful

  • lozman1122

Part of me wants them to reveal it soon, but the other part of me wants to wait until after WWHD. I don’t want it to steal the light from WWHD. Maybe just a picture or artwork for now and a trailer a little later?…

  • Jack5221

Next years E3. Im predicting thats when they’ll show it.

    • Ducked

      Same here

  • JWHO

That Awkward moment when Nintendo steals all the money in my wallet. :)

    • Michael Jurado

I got my paycheck yesterday and it’s half gone

    • Ducked

There known for being criminals to us, but they keep making good games.

  • therealruben1

We are getting smash bros. With Mega Man.I think we can wait.

    • Michael Jurado

      Yeah fuck marvel vs capcom!!!

      • blindtiger

smash is obviously better but i wish they would port marvel vs capcom and street fighter… i miss those franchises as ive been exclusively nintendo for over a decade.

        • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

street fighter 4 was on 3DS and it was pretty friggin great

  • AlexWilgus

wGenius marketing: Bundle playable demo of new Zelda with Wind Waker HD

    • Andreas Sunde

No. Wait until E3. If they don’t give us a chance for another E3 04 moment, I’ll be sad…

    • Michael Ocampo

      You sir! Are a genius!

  • JBeauregard

The new Zelda is one of the main reasons why I still have my Wii U. I wish Nintendo would realize all of the money that they’re not getting thrown at them because of the lackluster releases. As the year progress, though, it’s looking like things are going to improve dramatically!

  • Alexander Kleinwechter

I have actually not played legend of zelda windwaker yet wich is a a shame, but i will buy the remake of course. Im very excited about windwaker a link between worlds and i cant wait for the new zelda u to be shown. Also some other awsome games from nintendo is coming. DK TF, mario world,Pokemon x and y, wich im very excited to get my hands on. So what are you guys looking forward too?

  • Michael Jurado

“Announcing any other Wii U Zelda game at this point will take focus away from Wind Waker HD.”

And pretty much every other game out there

  • Mitch Hall

I hope that it really pushes the graphical limits of the Wii U. Oh, and I’d love to see it have the same art style as this (from the Smash trailer):

    • 00EpicGamer00

I think it’s going to be. Cause, remember that Aonuma said that the new Zelda game won’t be ultra realistic or cartoony realistic. And the art style and graphics in that photo is basically right in the middle.

      • Nintendo Fan 4 Lif3

Aonuma also said though that they’re not aiming for the same art style as the Smash trailer and use a style never used in the Zelda franchise before so it’s beyond me what exactly the next one may look like though they’ve already said it may share similarities to the Skyward Sword and Wind Waker art styles. It would be cool though if the art style came something close to this though http://wiiudaily.com/2013/04/beautiful-zelda-wii-u-box-art-concept/ that would make my day if Nintendo did that for the Legend of Zelda Wii U….would also want them to set the game about the first hero of time and how he got his form in the Twilight Princess or do a sequel to Majora’s Mask that finished what happened in that game and Ocarina of Time, though Nintendo already said they will make it an original Zelda, supposedly not connected to previous games.

        • Magnus Eriksson

We will probably see a yarn styled Link this time. :)

          • Zombie Boy

            Lego Zelda?

          • Magnus Eriksson

Haha, I would love a Lego Zelda :) OoT Lego!

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson
          • Zombie Boy

I was actually joking, but the more I think about it, the more I’m sure it’d be amazing!

Shame all of the licensing details would be so hard to work out. Nintendo would never release Zelda for multi-platform and Traveller’s Tales probably wouldn’t want to do another Wii U exclusive.

            Still, you never know…

          • Magnus Eriksson

Check out Hyrule in minecraft. :)

          • Zombie Boy

I try to stay away from Minecraft, as I don’t want to get sucked in :O Monster Hunter 3 is bad enough for taking up all my spare time…

          • Linskarmo

Thanks for posting that! I followed that CUUSOO project for a while, but was kind of disheartened when the Mingles one got the attention. I really hope this one pulls through!

        • kahn

Aonuma’s been everywhere with this, first it was gonna be like skyward sword, then it was gonna be between SS and TP, and now its gonna be something completely new. I dont know how many graphics styles there are but hopefully he settles for something a little like the SSB trailer, it reminds me ALOT of OOT.

        • 00EpicGamer00

“they’ve already said it may share similarities to the Skyward Sword and Wind Waker art styles.”
Ummm have you actually SEEN what Link looks like in the new smash bros.? It’s basically Skyward Sword art style, with Twilight Princess graphics. Therefore, a mixture of realism and cartoony.
Once again, Aonuma said that it won’t be realistic or cartoony. And how Link looks like in SSB, is right in the middle. And going by this information, the game will not COMPLETLY look like SS or TP. It will, 9 times out of 10, be a mixture of the two, which the result of that is the picture you see above you.
Now, will the game look EXACTLY the same as that photo? Possible yes, possible no. BUT, I’m pretty sure what we see up there is something for Nintendo to go off of.

      • kahn

Even though i want a TP style again, this style is bad at all

    • Ducked

The trailer that they revealed at E3 2011 looks better than most PS4 and Xbox One games

      • TULFich

not trailer, but tech demo, and it looked somewhere far from current gen and a bit below from next gen

        • nin-10-doughfan

          correct!

        • Ducked

The tech demo looked right up there with next gen, look at infamous second son, then look at this.

          • TULFich

Still is a bit below it, not saying is a bad thing. Totally the opposite. Wii U is supposed to be in between a 40-50% below next-gen consoles tech specs, wish Wii U had at least 3 more cores, so then, it could compete with the PS4 or X1 directly, cuz according to the Expresso and latte chips the console has, it stills own the PS4 core by core, but ps4 has 5 more cores XD though the architecture of Wii U is supposed to be a super highly firmware updatable one meaning it could even boost it´s power somewere between a 100% more

            grpahics comparisson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etYsmuPxB2w

            upcloaking rumor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7-TLZ4dE8c

          • kahn

I disagree with you about the graphics of the tech demo, i personally think they where definately on par with games like knack. Ofcourse it cant be compared to graphics like killzone, just because the graphics style is so different. But the lighting effects where pretty beautiful. I dont know about you, bit i feel even with all this “specs” talk, these next gen graphics that sony and microsoft are peddeling really arent that different from this gen. Its definately nowhere near the leap from PS2 to PS3. A little better shading here, microscopic textures there, a bunch of stuff ill never be able to appreciate in the heat of the game. I think nintendos choice to stay a little less powerful again this gen wont be such a bad thing as it was last gen with SD vs HD. Now its HD vs (slightly better) HD. You might disagree but thats what i think

          • TULFich

I don´t disagree at all, I play games for what they are not for what they show-off, and comparison is merly subjective. What people care about new consoles, is about the online and entertainment things, which I only care about the first one, like why the fuck I want to see TV on the internet on a TV? that is why I have a PC to cover all those things regarding entertainment on internet. I just want games and an interface like Miiverse does things perfectly well done to share and comment and ask for help and that. So yep new Zelda game can actually look even better than the tech demo IF devs squeeze the Wii U caps.

          • fireheartis1

The Killzone and X comparison didn’t make any since on this one bro. Plus I watched very closely and the Wii U’s graphics hold up quite nicely with the PS4. I didn’t see much difference except in the light, and to me that’s not really a big deal at all.

          • TULFich

            is a subjective comparison…..

          • Guest

You can’t compare two completely different artstyles, dude…
Deep Down tries to be as realistic as possible (y’know as realistic as dragons and such stuff can be) and the Zelda in general always had a comic-like Artstyle and never wanted to look super realistic. The only thing, that COULD be compared are things like the torches…

EDIT: Also…the Zelda techdemo wasn’t captured but filmed from an TV wich really flaws the video of it

          • jay

Terrible comparison. Off screen vs direct feed really?

            What a fucking joke

          • gamesplayswill

Dude… it’s Nintendo, look at pikmin 2 on the Gamecube.
That Game had gorgeous graphics for it’s time! =D

          • Adam Miller

Or look at Rogue Leader on the Gamecube. Looks better than a lot of current gen games, despite being SD and old as hell.

          • gamesplayswill

            Exactly! =)

        • ConCity Soldier

Graphics don’t make a console next gen. I get what you were saying but you shouldn’t say it in the context of next gen. But rather that the PS4 and Xbone has more graphical visuals. Wii U is very much next gen, and does surpass the 7th gen in graphics also. I’m so sick of people saying otherwise, but they will anyways to piss me off lol. Whatever…

        • val berger

No it didn’t. I really don’t get how people are always claiming stuff like that. Yeah, the tech demo looked gorgeous, like tech demos usually do. But it didn’t really look like something, you can’t imagine running on a PS3 or XB360. Everyone who played The Last of Us should be aware by now, how amazingly capable this generation still is. Of course it’s great news to know, that the WiiU can even go far beyond that, but it would also be enough if it wouldn’t. But comparing those graphics with the PS4-Generation, it’s just plain wrong and shows how people don’t really know what they are talking about. Games on the WiiU will always look like the PS360-generation, just better in some terms. Like Mario Kart 8 runs with 60fps and 1080p. Its always the same story. Games that are really pushing the WiiU to its limits won’t have to hide for PS4 games that aren’t. But games that are pushing the PS4 to its limits will play in a totally different league. In the end, everyone who buys a WiiU just to tell himself, it’s nearly as fast as the PS4 generation, haven’t really understood the system and should totally sell it. The WiiU is a system about Fun, not tech specs. It will deliver some great visuals, but not because of it’s techspecs, but because of some talented visual artists. Metroid Prime on the Gamecube looks better than most Wii games. Good of War on the PS2 also has amazing art direction that works better than some HD games. The WiiU will get some amazing looking games, like the PS3 has games like Journey, the Last of Us and so on. And people are gonna claim, it would be better than anything else. In a creative point of view, this could even be possible, as the PS4 generation doesn’t really make sense to me. It doesn’t really open too many posibilities gameplaywise and in terms of its visuals, you won’t see such a difference when playing a Need for Speed game on a PS4 to it’s PS3-version. In many games you can display enough relevant details with the actual technology, so the PS4generation will make more use of storytelling-actionadventure games as you can show the advanced facial animation techniques there which may lead to many games with similar mechanics… so it’s history repeating.

So in the end, WiiU owners should be glad to own a system that doesn’t go down that road. It’s a system where you are allowed to play games like Nintendoland which don’t look that amazing and are more reduced to it’s fun. and that’s a good thing. Pikmin 3 is also a nice looking game, but far beyond gorgeous.

      • nin-10-doughfan

        sir yes sir!

      • Yousif Alromaithi

I don’t know if it will maintain the same graphics but if they did then how profound that game would be just hope they finish the game.

        • Ducked

Hopefully it will, I have a good feeling about it

      • Jarvis

Ducked you are right. But you are wrong too. The trailer was awesome, but it was only a PC trailer, it wasn’t Wii U. :S :(

        • Ducked

It was running on Wii U…

        • DragonSilths

No that Tech Demo was running on the Wii U in real time.

          • Jarvis

            2011 E3 were’t Wii U available. It was a same joke like Xbox1 E3 2013.

          • ItzameyaToad

Umm I am almost 100% certain that the company developing a console has access to it years before everyone else haha moron.

          • 00EpicGamer00

            Oh my -_-
That Zelda thing was a TECH DEMO! It was running real time on the Wii U. It wasn’t meant to advertise any game. It was just to show the Wii U’s power. Miyamoto already said that the Zelda tech demo, was NOT to advertise any Zelda game. He said it was JUST to sowcase the Wii U’s power.

          • Adam Porter

don’t you kid yourself, that tech demo was to fool us all into thinking that a wiiU zelda would be released soon after launch. i fell for it, hell i think we all wanted to believe that a wiiU zelda was just around the corner so bad that we all fell for it. one year later barely 2 or 3 games on the console worth having. if only nintendo actually launched their launch games at launch then things might be different, but they didn’t.

oh yea and they still don’t have any fucking ads

            ASSES!!!

          • 00EpicGamer00

Umm, no. That Zelda tech demo was just to demonstrate the Wii U’s power. Maybe when we saw it for the first time, we THOUGHT it was advertising a new Zelda game, but that was OUR fault for thinking that, not Nintendo’s. Also, with logic like yours, what about the bird tech demo that was shown on the Wii U? Did Nintendo lie to us because that was never a game?

          • Adam Porter

Bird tech demo was not a video of our favourite franchise though, the zelda tech demo was there to create hype, make us all think that they were working on a new game. i know it was a tech demo, i knew it was a tech demo, but i thought a franchise worth using as our first introduction to WiiU would be one of the first major games to be released seeing as the console wasn’t releasing for another year, so say 12-18 months after console release was the window i was estimating, but then they hit us with WWHD like what the fuck is that about, that instantly mean there won’t be a wiiU zelda until 2015, they will give WWHD a year to sell and then a year for zelda hype to cool down and then within 6 months announce the new one.

          • 00EpicGamer00

I think you’re over exaggerating. Yeah, the Zelda tech demo was obviously there for hype reasons, but it’s kind of obvious that it wasn’t advertising an actual Zelda game. First of all, Nintendo would of said so before or after showing it. Second of all, you could ONLY control the camera and lighting. If Nintendo was advertising an actual Zelda game, then they probably would of made Link controllable.
Wind Waker HD is just to hold us over until the new one comes out. Just because they’re re-releasing a game for us to play in the meantime (which, you should be grateful that their being generous enough to even do that) doesn’t mean the new is completely far from being released. I still think a 2014 release is likely since their is signs here and there. Like Miyamoto wanting to show Zelda at E3 2013 because he stated that they were further along in development than they thought they would be. But they pulled it away because there’d probably be TOO much hype, if you know what I mean. Miaymoto also said, a while back that he plans for the new Zelda to release in 2014. Obviously that could be subject to change, BUT Miyamoto might get what he wants, if Nintendo stays on track, and puts all attention on Zelda, we could see Zelda out in 2014.

          • Adam Miller

Microsoft did tech demos for the 360 and Kinect of games that didn’t even exist. Nintendo used one of their mascots as the face of the tech demo. It doesn’t relate to the Zelda game, it just shows off the Wii U’s power.

          • Jon

it was to demonstrate power and that was said more than enough times for people to understand that, if you didn’t then you should listen more and not assume things because then you just make an ass of yourself.

          • Adam Porter

so you didn’t for one second think that a wiiU zelda release was due within say 18months of launch??

          • Jon

When I saw that and they said it was a tech demo, I thought to myself that we’d probably see a Zelda game somewhere around 2014-2015. I knew it wasn’t going to be soon because as they said, it was a tech demo to show the capabilities of the Wii U and there was no actual game play..

          • fireheartis1

Why would you think that dude. The only time a Zelda game ever launched with a system was Twilight Princess and that was a GameCube port to begin with. All brand new Zelda games take a least 2 to 3 years to complete. To think that was a game coming out in 18 months is just plain ignorance.

          • Adam Porter

ignorance to think a game was going to come out 6 months earlier than your earliest estimate?? sounds very plausible, especially how before that we had heard alot at that time how nintendo wanted to speed up game development.
plus i did say 18months after launch, which would mean 2 and a half years after the tech demo, which is slap bang in the middle of your estimate.

          • Linksawakeningisazeldagame

lol. I have 2 things to say to you.
            1. It wasn’t trying to trick us.

            2. You are an idiot for even THINKING that. They showed the tech demo BEFORE Skyward Sword came out. Also, Wii U only launched 1 year after Skyward Sword came out.

            What a troll…

          • 00EpicGamer00

Not trying to be rude, but it’s YOUR fault for falling for something like that. When they showed it the very first time at the end of that Wii U trailer, thing at E3 2012. I at first was like “oh wow, is that a new Zelda game?” But, after the trailer was over, they never talked about the Zelda part, so it didn’t take long for me to think that it wasn’t an actual Zelda game.

          • jay

The only ass is you for fooling yourself.

          • Stuart Thomas

I was at the movies the other day, just before the show started several wii u ads showed, one being pikmin 3. suprised me!

          • Adam Porter

            that’s pretty cool to hear

          • Rogelio

Not to burst your bubble, but Nintendo is advertising Pikmin 3…

          • DigitalBlawks

Guys they’ve done tech demos of Zelda to show the power of 3 Nintendo consoles (GCN, N64, and Wii U) so it isn’t too surprising they did it again. Here’s a video of all tech demos starting with early 1990′s Nintendo 64: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDZYAknq2Gc

          • 00EpicGamer00

Finally! An intelligent person! I don’t understand why Adam Porter is so upset over a tech demo.

          • DragonSilths

“werent Wii U available.” wtf does that mean. Wii U systems were not finalized yet but were up and running. However not a single game on the Xbox One at E3 was actually running on the Xbox One, so we havent seen any actual gameplay from any Xbox One game lol.

        • Me Gusta

          No Me Gusta troll.

        • Clel

          Source?

          • Jarvis

First Tech Demo was in 2012 E3. If you saw the first Wii U Press Conference in 2011, than you know Wii U wasn’t able run a tech demo in 2011 E3. E.g. Xbox1 2013 E3. (TechDemo run by PC)

          • Jarvis

Or 21.05.2013 Microsoft Press Conference, Xbox1 reveal. It wasn’t the Xbox1, because the operacion system wasn’t complite. http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Xbox-One-Games-E3-Were-Running-Windows-7-With-Nvidia-GTX-Cards-56737.html

          • Jarvis

Here is your tech demo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arHNcSMXaBk

Why were they used a big white cabinet for a small console like Wii U ? Because under the console was a running PC. GG Tech demo. I saw a lot of game show and I know what is real. 2011 was epic, super, new, but it was a PC.

          • Anubis

            Did you watch the video?

          • Jarvis

Do you have eyes ???? Read the Xbox1 link. It’s the same. It wasn’t a Wii U !

          • Anubis

            That’s Microsoft, this is Nintendo.

          • Jarvis

OFC XD You know nothing, and I say again, nothing about consoles. Nintendo made what Sony and Microsoft can not, but Nintendo can’t sell enough console. What a joke. XD

          • Anubis

Hey, I’m only 14 so I don’t care if I don’t know much about consoles. All I care is that they have great games to play.

          • Jarvis

Okay, than please trust me when I say something. I don’t want to lie for you. I have Wii U too. And I like it. It’s a good console with a bad developer. Maybe the best console I ever had. Only problem is the Nintendo. They are doing wrong.

          • Anubis

            I can respect that.

          • Jarvis

            Than good night for you.

          • Guest

            Whatever.

          • AeroTech

You could change the lighting during the tech demo. Can’t do that on a trailer. Seriously, a PC modeled as a Wii U? It’s ok to admit you’re wrong sometimes…

          • david jarman

Then you should trust what I’m saying. You know nothing about consoles. The wii u has been in development for awhile and went through many stages. Even the dev kits went through changes. You’re comparing nintendo’s demo to microsoft’s mess up. So since Microsoft lied means nintendo has to be lying too? There is not a single rational thought in your head is there? Well then Sony lied too cause they threw a demo out a few months before their reveal like Microsoft did.

Not to mention they had the gamepad working with it and the ability to have off tv gameplay. The gamepad is easy to hack and have the simple control functions be used to control the PC, but not the ability for pc to stream to gamepad with the ability to still have control. They had shows like this with lots of wii u’s and people playing them well before the wii u came out and the tech demo was there for people to check out.

          • Zombie Boy

Trust me, you know more about consoles than he does! He’s just talking rubbish in an attempt to convince you that you’re wrong. Don’t buy into it and don’t let him get to you.

          • Anubis

            Thank you.

And I definitely won’t buy into his ignorance :)

          • Zombie Boy

Do you have ears??? The guy even says on the video that it is running at 1080p on the Wii U – this is coming from a guy reporting for IGN, not Nintendo, and those guys are more biased toward the PS4 and XBox Done if anything! Lol

          • Jon

lol, you’re retarded, they were using a cabinet as a stand so you are looking at it at eye level. ROFL. The guy even says on the video that it is running at 1080p on the Wii U and that is coming from a guy from IGN and not Nintendo. lol

          • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

This guy gets it. EYE LEVEL

          • Zombie Boy

Unfortunately Jarvis doesn’t respond to facts, logic or common sense, as I discovered on a previous topic.

Have you noticed yet that he doesn’t reply to the people that actually prove him wrong? And also that, when the people he’s talking to make a good point that he can’t argue against, he just skips over it or resorts to threats and name-calling?

How about the fact that every up-vote on his comments is from ‘Mr Downvote’, which is most likely his other account?

It’s like he just singles out one person and bullies them into submission and pretty much ignores everyone else (you can see it on this page – he has singled out Anubis and is ignoring everybody else’s replies to his comments). And then he thinks he’s won the argument (or ‘fight’ as he calls it), but the truth is, people have just gotten bored of his shit and wandered away from the conversation.

Debating with Jarvis is like playing chess with a pigeon… no matter how good you are at chess, the pigeon will knock the pieces over, crap all over the board and strut around like it’s victorious.

Worst troll ever. Fortunately, I predict he’ll be gone soon.

          • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

yeah, he’ll be gone soon. WiiUdaily has some good mods.

I mean, it’d at least be a little more fun if he was a GOOD troll. But seriously its like he’s waving a flag that says “HERE I AM! I’M A TROLL! COME GET ME!”

          • Zombie Boy

Yeah, he just ruins it for the other trolls. At least they try! Lol

          • Anubis

Dude it was running on Wii U.

          • Jarvis

Why were they used a big white cabinet for a small console like Wii U ? Man under the console was a running PC. Wii U OS wasn’t complite in 2011. Wii U was in Alpha Phase in 2011. Wasn’t able run a tech demo. First tech demos were in 2012 E3. GG

          • Anubis

            There are two reasons:
            1: It holds the TV

2:Maybe because they didn’t want the console to get stolen?

          • Jarvis

Wall can hold the TV too and much easier, you dont need a big cabinet to save your console. Like E3 2013. And sorry m8, but you know nothing about consoles. Teche Dome 1,5 year before the release ? Are you kidding me ? We saw the first PS4/Xbox1 TechDemos in E3 2013. 6 month before release. And you say, Nintendo made a real Tech Demo for Wii U in 2011 ? :D

          • Anubis

When we first saw the Wii U in 2011, it was the prototype not the finished product. What we saw from Microsoft and Sony was their finished product so…

Believe what you want I don’t care. I’m just saying that Zelda HD was in fact running on Wii U. Case closed.

          • Jarvis

Well okay I understand you. You belive in a dream, it’s not bad but the landing will be hard like a skydiving without parachute. Prototype can not run a tech demo. TechDemo means the real engine demo, if it was a prototype than it wasn’t able to run a real engine demo. Just open your eyes and read about consoles.

          • Adam Porter

what the fuck are you on about, are you trying to tell me that xbox1 and ps4 devs didn’t have a working dev kit that could run their games until a month ago?? who the fuck cares when sony and MS revealed their console that doesn’t matter one fucking bit, the basics of their consoles have been around as dev kits for years, same as nintendo wiiU was. how else could anyone develop a fucking game for the launch of a console if they didn’t. jesus christ but i just can’t stand how stupid some people are, like how can someones genetic make-up leave them so ill equipped to even think logically, jesus it isn’t rocket science to know that the basic makeup of the console has beenm around for years before release………………….naw you know what fuck it, you sir i deem to stupid to waste my fucking time on GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR!!!

          • Joey

calm down, if it wasted your time why then share your thoughts on this, instead keep it to yourself idiot

          • Joey

get a life thats not what you said about tech demo

          • kahn

Are these conspiracy theories or facts? Cause it wouldnt have been called a “Wii U tech demo 2011″ unless it ran on the wii u’s hardware

          • david jarman

The reason they were in a huge cabinet was because that was not the final product as you can see just by looking at gamepad. If anything it’s more then likely a dev kit in there, just like Sony use their dev kits for their demos. Microsoft was caught cause their demo crashed with windows 7 running in the background.
I’m not 14. I’m 36 and I have been gaming since the commodore era and use to backup games and programs on cassette tapes. I’ve been to many shows and have played a lot of demos.

          • jay

Why did microsoft use an APPLE computer to showcase the 360?

          • kahn

            Thank you.

        • Destructonator101

I thought Jarvis was more intelligent.

          • Jarvis

Jarvis was a 13 years old boy, who died in a war. I’m not so stupid to name myself after an A.I. I respect the real heros, and James C. Jarvis was a real hero with his 13 years.

        • kahn

It was on Wii U? Did you even watch the youtube video?

      • kahn

Thats true. Everyone says the wii u gamepad is a gimmick. But super smash bros HD makes these “next gen graphics” from PS4 and X1 look like an actual gimmick

        • ItzameyaToad

People said Wii motion controls where a gimmick(Sony) then quickly supported PS Move and Kinect.Motion Controlls and the Wii U gamepad add a layer of depth that makes the gaming experience better. I remember before I got a Wii U I wondered how the gamepad would benefit gameplay and now that I own one I cant imagine not having a second screen with adventure games or games like Call of Duty where you don’t have to go to a menu every time you want to equip something or have a big map on your screen that distracts you from the game.

          • Krzysztof

I use the game pad for off-TV play, mostly. Anyone who plays in his living room on the TV which is used by more then one person, will appreciate it.

    • Immallama22

That art style fits the Zelda series so well :D I’m so excited for a trailer or anything!

    • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Would love to find a higher resolution picture of this in 1280×720 or higher for my computer desktop background.

    • Douglas McCunn

I would love to see this style.

    • Magnus Eriksson

“-First I want to apolologize that I want to announce that we hopefully will announce a new Zelda maybe in not to long. Please understand!” – Saturo Iwata

    • Linskarmo

I agree. I hope it has a similar color rendering, leaning towards primary colors as was said. I’d like bright looking and highly detailed visuals.

    • Magnus Eriksson

More likely we will have a return to the classic style. Probably a semi cartoonish style like this:

      • Zombie Boy

I could see it being cartoonish too. Not like Wind Waker, but a bit more mature. Think of a cross between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess and that’s what I can imagine it being like.

        • Zombie Boy

          Sorta like this…

    • val berger

hm I’m a fan of the more characteristic graphic styles and Nintendo already said that the WiiU game will go in that direction (if i remember correctly).
The graphicstyle of the picture above is kinda uninspired. It’s no real achievement to just display something technical good looking. But its something different if you create a unique art style and that’s what Nintendo often tries with Zelda. I’d prefer if they would stick to one style for once, but in general, I like to be surprised and with something that’s just looking how everybody would imagine it, there’s nothing fresh there.

That was the problem with the Twilight Princess art style for me. It looked really good, very beautiful and so on. But it was just what players asked for after Wind waker. It lacked some unique identity.

    • David Noble

It’s supposed to have a similar art style as Skyward Sword. The original inside look for this site explains that.

  • Ducked

    E3 2014?

  • Super Buu

    And I hope too

  • Paul

Link should remain a silent protagonist, but everyone else should be voice acted. We can still respond and answer questions like how we did in skyward sword.

  • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Being a huge Legend of Zelda fan since the beginning I am trying to be patient and I know if I am they will do the game justice. I am excited to see what Nintendo can do with the storage capacity of 25GB and HD graphic capability with this game. I would love to see an art style similar to Twilight Princess as I liked the darker side of the series.

    • Magnus Eriksson

Yes! The style in TP should be develope further upon. I would love to see how dark they can make it without breaking the boundaries of Zelda franchise. Think about a Zelda game in the dark wars before SS. In a dark and almost melancholic style.

      • RoyRelapse

        nerdgasm

    • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

      25GB storage capacity?

I heard my hard drive chuckle from downstairs.

      • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

The Wii U game discs have 25GB of storage that can be used for the game. Was that what you were questioning?

Not that they will use all that but if the information that has been presented so far that this will be the biggest Zelda game ever I can see the game taking 10 – 16GB easily

        • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

oops. My bad. I thought you were talking about the storage needed for the game because it’d be so big and epic, and 25GB is about what you have left ona deluxe after the update. Sorry!

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

I was talking about the storage capacity but not what is needed on the Wii U unless the game is downloaded digitally. I already have a 2TB hard drive hooked to my Wii U.. I was going to keep the built in storage for game updates and patches and all my games are on the hard drive which I disconnect and back up periodically.

          • AlThor

            Bob,
Just curious, what hard drive did you purchase for your Wii U?

          • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

I actually bought a new 4TB USB drive for my desktop computer and replaced a Western Digital USB 2.0 2TB drive I had. Then I formatted that drive and used it on the Wii U. I do not remember the exact model number

          • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

yeah, that’s what I’m doing too. Although I haven’t backed it up. Should probably get that done…

      • oontz

        Face palm.

He meant the disc capacity. Seriously some people have the brain power of a pile of dirt.

        • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

          gee thanks -.-

I’m sure you’ve never made a mistake in your life

  • bakedapplepie

E3 2014 Nintendo will definitely show us something. I’m patient, can’t rush greatness. I’m really just hoping for a Wii U / Wind Waker Bundle, I think I would buy two.

  • Mark Thom

    WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO YEAH! CAN’T WAIT

  • Luna Moonfang

Am I the only one here who’s curious as hell to what Aonuma will do with online interactions?

    • Squid

No. I don’t want the game to have Multiplayer all over it, a multiplayer mode would be cool.

      • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

kinda like what they did for the DS games, but on a larger scale

    • Me Gusta

      Me Gusta multiplayer.

  • Joey

the term “not too distant future” in Nintendo-speak means anywhere between 6 months to 6 years.

You really think not too distant future 6 years is really a long time i would say 1-2 years is not a far distant future but 6 years is too long, just my thoughts.

  • Only a few are true gamers

They will show it after the wind waker is released

    • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

I am thinking sometime in the Spring of 2014 we will get some hints. By that time Mario Kart 8 will be out and maybe even Super Smash Bros U and they can move onto the next blockbuster title.

  • Schultz38

I’m calling for a November announcement for a summer 2014 release. Then a delay until November of 2014.

November announcement to try and not overshadow Wind Waker HD. Pre-December to try and sell some systems.

Delay to have a bit more time to polish.

It’s a bit bold to say a 2014 release, but Nintendo is going to be pushing to get this out on the market. It’s a system seller. They already have a Mario coming, the next big thing would be Zelda.

Nintendo isn’t one to rush their games onto the market (Pikmin 3, anyone?), but desperate times call for desperate measures.

    • Schultz38

      Just my 2-cents :b

    • Nintendo Fan 4 Lif3

don’t count on a 2014 release. Nintendo already said they’re still in the experimental phase of development, which means they’re not even in the alpha stage yet for actual development… plus Nintendo has delayed nearly every Zelda title ever released. The delay will most likely kick them back a year like Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, so I’m counting on a 2015 release the earliest since they will want Wind Waker HD and A Link Between Worlds to have their time in the spotlight..so most likely when sales slow down for those titles or January 2014 we might see something given how Nintendo likes to keep details about its Zelda franchise in secrecy. It’s the inevitable truth.

      • JB

“Zelda U! Fall. 2018!” Actually, Fall 2015 wouldn’t surprise me in the least. My hope is a 2014 release, but if it’s not, hopefully they’ll have an open world Mario ready for us next year… if not that, then maybe a Star Fox, Metroid or F-Zero.. Or the new IP Miyamoto is working on.

Either way, the sooner we get a new Zelda, perhaps the greater the chance well get two brand new Zeldas this generation, much like the last.

        • Nintendo Fan 4 Lif3

yeah I want a single player 3D Mario game that follows Sunshine or 64..Galaxy wouldn’t exactly fit Wii U. And I also would want those titles and wonder what genre Miyamoto is tackling this time.. also given that the next Zelda won’t release until Wii U is like halfway through its life cycle, it’s highly unlikely at this point that we’ll see two Zelda games this generation and will probably get the Zelda that comes afterwards on the console after Wii U as that console’s launch title or on the next handheld Nintendo does or even on 3DS, unless Wii U is as easy to develop for as Miyamoto said and we see two Zeldas like you said.

          • JB

I suppose my line of thinking is that if this console generation lasts 10 years like most are thinking, then maybe 2 new Zeldas… Though that would mean they’d have to start almost right after they wrap up on the current one. Naturally this is just wishful thinking on my part. Twilight Princess fell on fortunate set of circumstances that allowed it to be a cross-generational title.

      • Schultz38

Ah. I forgot about A Link Between Worlds. That makes the improbable 2013 announcement nearly impossible.

However I still don’t see a late 2014 release out of the question. Zelda U has been in production for around 3 years now. So a 2014 release isn’t as crazy as it may seem.

Anyone else remember this article? http://wiiudaily.com/2012/09/wii-u-zelda-game-coming-2014/ Granted it’s mostly rumors. But people seemed to have a lot more hope for a 2014 release a year ago.

  • The Libyan

I think they might do what they did with Wind Waker HD. During a Nintendo Direct, they show one or two screenshots from the game. Then at E3 2014 they show a sweet trailer with gameplay footage and everyone watching gets massive boners……even the ladies

    • JB

Oh crap. Had I read the comments. I would’ve saw yours that said the exact same thing I just said! (well the same, just in a different way) I’ve been saying for a couple months now that Zelda will get a big showing next year or the following. You just don’t announce a new Zelda out of the blue. LOL

    • Squid

      Read my mind.

  • Link Slayer

I love the art style on the e3 2011 trailer also

  • discuss

Zelda should have been a release game. If it would have been the console probably would have been sold many more times.

  • JB

Nintendo… Why do you want to take all my money??

It wouldn’t suprise me if we get a very small teaser, (i.e. screenshots) That way they could say that they showed us the new Zelda. They’ll leave us hungry for more and then BAM! E3 2014 give us a full-on trailer at a press conference. Everyone will cry. Rejoice. Nintendo will win E3 2014.

Though it would be cool if they bundled a special sneek peek for those who purchase the Wind Waker HD.

    • Andreas Sunde

A special sneek peek won’t work nowadays, it will be on YouTube within minutes of discovery. They should keep it a secret to everybody until E3.

      • JB

        Haha you’re absolutely right!

  • Johny

its just common sense not to reveal the next zelda, before the CURRENT one they announced isn’t even released. its a no-brainer. it would most likely impact the sales of Windwaker in a very negative way.
I say they will announce it somewhere between 3-4 months after the windwaker is released.
Same would of course apply for the highly requested and abit teased Majoras Mask remake for 3ds. If they indeed ARE working on it, its again common sense that they won’t announce/reveal it before the current 3ds zelda (a link between worlds) gets properly released.

Awesome yeah. We know Nintendo take their time in developing of new Zelda game. So we have The Wind Waker HD. Really look forward to it. I loved GameCube version of it in past.

Look at many HD remake games like God of War HD collection, Ratchet & Clank HD collection, Metal Gear Solid 3 HD, Silent Hill HD collection, Resident Evil 4 HD and other games that got HD collection and they not got big changes just beside graphics improves, add few twists for gameplay, change few or better or even remove for reasons.

So The Wind Waker HD is same reasons to those many HD games.

I am so happy that The Wind Waker HD get improve faster boat travel and graphics look lots different this time with beautiful looking. That is fine and understandable that no need big changes because original is what great were so make sense just add few, removes few and change better for something etc…

So some people complaints about HD games is not enough changes. Just quit it and accept that fact original is brilliant and publishers bring HD for all of you to play one of best games once more again. :D

  • starwars360

Preorder this game along with many Wii U games coming later this year and 2014. Pikmin 3 is next week YAY!!!!!

  • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

I hope they reveal it soon too ;)

  • Douglas McCunn

I understand the theory, but I really don’t believe releasing some info would have any impact on Wind Waker. Those of us who have played it are incredibly anxious to get our hands on it again (at least I am). Those who haven’t played it are surely just as anxious. I just really hope they made the final Ganon battle a bit more difficult, that was the only part of the original I was disappointed with.

  • Andreas Sunde

Please, wait until E3 2014 and give us another E3 04 moment.

  • A SNES Day Off

I’m guessing that by E3 2014, they’ll have a playable demo ready to show off. For now though, let’s just get Wind Waker out of the way as that in it’s self should be a great title for the Wii U, and the last thing Nintendo should do to themselves is over-shadow it.

  • GuardiansFan

i hope the HD remake does well…it might lead the way to get other classics redone in HD. Really hopping to see Super Mario Bros 3 in full HD someday.

  • Alejandro Ramírez Bejarano

hahahahaha i don´t believe you Iwata; new zelda is at least coming out in 2015. You Know what i love Nintendo but the guys are so full of shit, kinda remind me of myself when the teacher asks me when am i going to bring my homework; i always answer; soon.

    • 3dsman

      maybe

  • UHREmperor

I think WWHD would crush sales if they just include a top secret playable demo with it and make that the only demo available for 6 months or so. I’m getting WWHD anyway, but I think a demo bonus would make a lot of other people consider it too.

  • DragonSilths

It will get revealed in the November or December Nintendo Direct.

  • Shelim Uddin

Im going for a guess that the next zelda wii u title is going to have art style similar to oot n tp.

  • Tallfry

What they are going to do is announce it (and give a trailer) in a Christmas Day Nintendo Direct
“Our Christmas present, Direct to U”
And then we have world peace for a day, because everyone loves Zelda.
    Expect North Korea.(Please no flaming)

  • Destructonator101

Next year. this is nintendo. Christmas onwards for a direct.

  • Alvaro Castañeda

Some of you may hate me, but I would really love to see the art style of twilight princess (of course with better graphics). I like it way more than skyward sword. But just my opinion.

    • Anthony K Aurelia

I agree with you…TP had the best look IMO. WW was the worst but I’ll buy the WiiU version and give it another chance.

    • TULFich

TP works just great!!, And regarding Skyward Sword, it was a great art style, and had better engine over all, but it neede that TP obscureness

    • Linskarmo

I think a graphical style like TP’s needs better graphics than GC/Wii to look really good, and Wii U would definitely be able to do that. I would love such a style.

  • Mason742

    So 2 years away?

  • Saul Rivera

I don’t think it’ll distract much from the Windwaker game…showing footage from the new Zelda would just help sell more units…hell…I bought a Wii U after seeing the first footage of X and that’s still far away

  • Madmagican

I’m expecting to hear about the new Zelda after Wind Waker HD releases (probably Q4 of 2013 or Q1 of 2014)
I’ll be happy to anxiously await as long as it’s worth it

  • Linskarmo

I saw “soon,” and thought awesome! But then I saw “not too distant future.” Bah. I hope it’s revealed, or at least teased, relatively soon, at least by the end of the year. As far as the game itself, I hope it looks stellar and is a blast to play.

  • Steven_Segal
  • TaintedXGamer

If you remember, at one point, they said it shouldn’t take too long to make after having done skyward sword, then again they’re developing for the wii U. So yeah gonna take some time.

Can someone help me prove my cousin wrong? He says Nintendo only makes remakes and everything is the same, he claims Pikmin isn’t very deep and doesn’t provide much of a good game and wants a new IP, (even though Miyamoto is at work) he also claims that someone leaves Nintendo at the age of 15. What should I tell this opinionated person? :/

    • Luffy

they leave at 15 and come back at 20
also, there is a bunch of new ip on 3ds eshop like pushmo and dillion. they often make new ip, but they simply get overshadow by there big ip like mario.
also, doesnt mean because they use a character that already exist that its not a new ip.for example: luigi mansion. it doesnt play anything like a mario game and could have been a totally new ip if they had put another character instead of luigi. but t they put luigi because it as mpore chance a t sucess.
problem is, there ip are so great that ita very hard to make a new one and get it to be recognize.

    • Elem187

Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandora’s Tower are all new IP’s.
Nintendo has the biggest and richest history in all of gaming. They would absoltuely NUTS not try bring back their franchises for every console.
The reason why Sony and Microsoft don’t follow suit, is because they can’t. Their IP’s just don’t have the history and love… But you know for a fact, that if they did have any IP that sells like Mario/Zelda, they would abuse it far more than Nintendo…. Nintendo only releases 1 or 2 games in a series per console. IF Sony or Microsoft had the same stable of IP’s you would see a new remake every year, sometimes twice a year.

Besides, Battlefield, CoD, Madden, Fifa, Assassins Creed have yearly refreshes… if he doesn’t like remakes, then maybe he should skip the playstation and xbox, as they will have far more remakes than any other company on their system.

  • Adam Porter

“not too distant future” yea yea nintendo, pikmin 3 was supposed to be a launch title like nearly a year ago, and so was wonderful101. you guys are asses, you show a tech demo of the game everyone wants in 2011, make a balse of e3 2012, announce a HD remake of a gamecube game who’s graphics were timeless anyway in 2013, delay all other games we want to see on the console from launch until the end of 2013/start of 2014, still no mention of a plausible release date of the game which you used to first introduce us to wiiU and we are 2 years down the line with very likely another 2 years wait till the game releases.

Oh yea and you still don’t have any fucking ads

    ASSES!!!!

    • Matt

I hate to say this but he makes a good point!

    • 00EpicGamer00

Look, I understand your point that Nintendo has been a bit…”slow” as of late. But you need to remember that Nintendo was having a hard time figuring out HD development, that’s why there was so many delays. But I think Nintendo has gotten past that, understands how it works, and will have games out much more quickly in the future.
Oh, and Nintendo has a Pikmin 3 ad out. I haven’t seen it on TV yet (probably because I don’t watch TV all that much.) But I’ve seen it on a YouTube video, if that counts xD

      • Adam Porter

come on, they are a games development company, it’s there job to do these things right, that would be an ok excuse if say a film company were moving into making games and were having a hard time getting to grips with it, but not nintendo.
and no the youtube ad shouldn’t count, but i like it so much it does T_T <3

      • Daniel Gonzalez

HD is something they should have figured out 6 years ago while they were developing the Wii U in the first place, not figuring it out now. As much as I love Nintendo, they are like you said, slow. Technology changes fast, and Nintendo needs to keep up with it, not fall behind.

        • 00EpicGamer00

Yes, I agree with you. Nintendo, I think, was being too careless with their console, and should of released it at later time so they could work more on HD development. I think Nintendo said that they underestimated the difficulty of HD development. Which is why, it would of been better for them, if they had waited and released the Wii U THIS November. That way Nintendo, I guess would “fully” understand HD, and we’d have all the good games. But, you know, life isn’t always fair.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

It never is fair all the time. Nintendo needs to learn to not jump the gun and think people will just buy a Wii U because of the Wii’s success. Shame on them for even thinking their own fans were gulliable enough to do so. I do hope they get their act together and master HD developing soon.

That Zelda tech demo at e3 2011 was nothing less than awesome. If they can push out some games like that, I’m sure they’ll sell, but even the consumers will only wait so long for games. Now that they know where they went wrong, let’s see if they can learn from it. Time will tell.

    • sd

Not much different to any other console release. The only thing they did wrong was make promises they couldnt keep, but again this is often done. The games are coming now with Pikmin 3 this week (for some). I am happy with their exclusive game line up this year, more than enough for me to choose from.

But I understand your annoyance we have all been there. I nearly sold the console for a 3DS, the only thing stopping me was the wonderful 101 trailers.

    • starwars360

I do fall in love with you!! Come to my home and have nice sex then play load of Nintendo games together for great time!!! LMFAO!!!! Hhahahahahaha :P

    • http://MacroManJr.blogspot.com/ Brian Lockett

There’s a difference between mismanagement and being an ass. Being an ass is when someone’s having an arrogant crass attitude. Being an ass is creating a game based 95% on Super Smash Bros. and then acting like it’s original and “innovative.” Having poor management of a product, however, is another issue.

  • sd

I predict a december 2014 release with a reveal early next year, maybe January.

You should note I am an optimist and I also predict great Nintendo sales in the lead up to christmas. All the die hard fans will flock to the finally released games. Plus in addition all of the parents looking for a console will be picking up the Wii U for their kids as they finally realise it is a new console and as they see the new price drop Zelda bundle. It is by far the best console for children, the games as well as being fun have universal appeal. But do not take this to mean it is for kids, it is not, its simply for everyone.

    • Elem187

If they just started on development, we shouldn’t expect to see it until 2015 at the earliest.. Zelda games in particular take ALOT longer than any other game at Nintendo.

      • sd

Yeah it really depends on when they started to work on it. If they really only just started working on this then they are very foolish. Especially since they have been talking about Zelda WiiU for some time. But like I said I will be optimistic.

  • Vladislav Zimin

    yes… game…

  • gamesplayswill

I’m waiting for a Mario and Link crossover, where some stages you play as link but in a Mario styled stage

    • dinos24

You could play Subspace, or the sidescrolling parts of Link’s Awakening :P

  • Elitepwnsface

If they reveal something by the end of this year i would be surprised.

    • Elem187

I agree.. This type of news is something to be saved for a big event like E3…. IF they were to do it before then, the best possible time would be early December to get people excited about the Wii U going into Christmas, as this is the time when children are requesting specific presents from family.

      • Elitepwnsface

Ahhh the good old days. Sams Club one Day: MOM! MOM! Since our Sega died can you buy us this nintendo 64 and look it comes with a game(Ocarina of Time) and an extra controller. Talk about a hell of a day that was. We did get Mom to get us an Xbox the year it came out for Christmas. Must not be like these days since she was able to get it from a gamestop lol. Dam it sucks growing up lol

  • THEMIGHTYDOOVDE

Hope to??? Don’t f**k with us Ninty! This s**t is serious!!!

  • sharlo galmo

Wii u got enough games, jus look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnjoovkX6ro

    • Stoenk

      Nintendo and/or Ubisoft blocked it

  • noel

Just give us a preview of the “ZELDA U” and a release window for old times sake!!!!

  • William Cole

I can’t wait for the new Zelda. I guess Wind Waker HD and A Link Between Worlds will hold me off until then. I know they will find some way to blow us away.

  • C.S. Bailey

Won’t be surprised if there are vids on the WW HD disc, even if they are just old E3 trailers/demos.

  • DigitalBlawks

This needs 3D TV mode. Wii U has 3D TV compatibility :)

    • 00EpicGamer00

Umm….why? Making a “3D TV mode” would probably require more development costs, and probably a feature no one would ever use. Do you keep the 3D turned on, on your 3DS (if you have one)? Probably not, so why should Nintendo make a 3D option for Wii U when, like I said, no one is probably ever going to use it.
And besides, most people don’t have a 3D TV. Cause, you know, nausea and stuff.

      • Stoenk

        I always have the 3DS’ 3D on

        • 00EpicGamer00

How? You don’t get sick from it, after a while?

          • Stoenk

I never have problems with 3D. Not in Cinemas either. I think it differs from person to person. I can watch 3D for hours without problems.

  • https://soundcloud.com/rauschenmaschine Kristian Kouvo

Here’s a chance for Wii U to show what it’s worth! Nintendo, don’t miss that chance.

  • zajac1661

It could not be more perfect. As a huge Zelda fan, I actually never played windwaker. With the remake comming, and news on a new Zelda, my addiction is satisfied for now. Buying a 3ds for the next Zelda release there, is a possibility as well.

i love the directs, but i really wanna see them do an E3 next year. I wanna see them reveal the new Zelda there, and I wanna see a reaction like Twilight Princess had: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE2Dc1sx71U
