The game is now available for pre-order for $49.96, with an additional $10 Amazon credit. This makes the purchase only $39.96 if you take the credit into account.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on Wii U on October 25th. Will you be picking it up?

Never really tried these batman games… how are they?

    • http://about.me/overlordror Ashley King

Really good actually, but the first two were developed by Rocksteady, this one is being developed by an entirely different studio.

      • Jon

hmm, maybe when I’ll take a look into them….but it will have to be after Christmas, need to say my money for other awesome games coming this fall and holiday :D

    • everyone

Prolly the best combat system I ever played in a game. Arkham City was a tad better due to the replay value it had. If you see a good price on it for any console I’d suggest you get it. Either Wii U edition or GOTY ed for a dif console. I know a lot of places have this version for under $20.

  • Stephen Davis

No I won’t be picking up. Why would I pay for only half a game? No multiplayer no buy!

    • http://about.me/overlordror Ashley King

It’s at half the cost. Your loss.

      • Stephen Davis

No I will just pick it up on PC. Would have loved to play this on my WIIU though… :(

        • http://about.me/overlordror Ashley King

That’s understandable then. I will be buying it on PC as well.

          • Arthur Jarret

I’m waiting for reviews and version comparissons.

If they properly optimize it, the wii u version might be the best looking console version… and in the long run, the version differences will be negated anyway, as they won’t keep servers online for more than a few years nowadays.

I’m especially waiting for reviews because of various other concerns, too – namely, the shorter development time, different scribe, different development team, different batman voice and different joker voice (though I’ve heard they have a good imitator)

  • ICHI

Still not really interested in this one, love the first two but am wondering if the New devs can capture that same magic the rocksteady ones pulled off so effortlessly.

  • Zuxs13

Well that’s how it should be, no multiplayer so it shouldn’t be full price.

    • Jared Garcia

Batman doesn’t need multiplayer so it feels pure on the Wii U version.

      • AAAkabob

That logic makes no sense, every version has the same single player experience. But this one is missing all the extras, and that makes it better than others?

        • Jared Garcia

Did Mass Effect need multiplayer? Did Dead Space need multiplayer? Tacking on multiplayer doesn’t make the game better and for a franchise built around one player, it most likely be like Assassin’s Creed’s.

          • Elem187

But its principle that matters … They are shipping a broken game and expecting you as a Nintendo gamer to pay full price because they think you don’t know any better (this is Amazon giving you $20 off, not WB)

Its insulting. I rather just rent it to send them a message that this isn’t OK…. And I’ll be lighting up its Miiverse board CONSTANTLY like I did with Sniper V2.

      • Derk

How much did they pay you to say crap like that?

  • sdmac200600

There we go. Now I’ll probably will end up buying it.

  • Archiq09

no multiplayer = low price xD

  • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

Hrm. I’d say preorder it now, just in case the price spikes back up. The pre-order price guarantee means you pay the lowest price that has been offered since your order was placed. That $10 promo credit can only be used on items shipped and sold by amazon though, so be warned. It is NOT an amazon gift card. It is promo credit which works differently.

  • jrob23

that’s a good deal. It’s cheaper than the other versions and you get a credit. If I owned a Wii U I would be on it.

  • everyone

I might have to bite on this deal. I never spent too much time outside of the story/open world mode in Arkham City. That credit will def go to my next Wii U purchase. I’m thinkon toward Sonic Lost World.

  • Jeffery02

Anyone notice that the PC version is also $50? And that is the MSRP. Also, the $10 credit is for any version as far as I can tell.

    • Baum 「ツリー」

PC games cost always less ;)

      • Jeffery02

Yeah, I know. I just think that it is a little unfair since PCs usually get every feature and the Wii U version, which is lacking a few select features, is more expensive.

        • Baum 「ツリー」

          That’s a good point, but I doubt it’ll happen :/

But on the other hand the Arkham Trilogy’s singleplayer campaigns are pretty big. Always thought of them as a kind of “zelda’ish Batman” xDD (great story, lots of things to discover, and a good mix of action and puzzles)

        • Elem187

There is no platform tax on PC, so it should be $50.
When you purchase a game on a Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo platform, you are paying the $10 licensing fee to the platform holder. PC has no platform holder, so it should be $10 less than other versions.
If anyone is trying to charge $60, no PC gamer should ever buy from that publisher, thats just price gouging.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

“If anyone is trying to charge $60, no PC gamer should ever buy from that publisher, thats just price gouging.”

You should tell that to the 3 million gamers who bought Skyrim. While there is no platform holder, it doesn’t give PC games a pass. With all the content it has now, it’s worth the $60 price tag.

      • http://WWW.Undergroundraw.com/ Undergroundraw.com

They USED to cost less, now they are trying to charge the same prices as consoles for PC games, which makes me just get the console or wait.

      • Castamere

Ha, not unless it’s published by EA.

  • Baum 「ツリー」

Argh…totally forgot about Arkham Origins :/

Another awesome game I won’t be able to buy, because of the PS4 xD
I really hope I’ll get enough time to save more money before SSB and MK8 release next year ^.^

  • Levi Johansen

I will get this one, I didn’t get the last one because I didn’t have any money.
Now I will get this one instead, seems to be a very good game.

  • Johny

well its the only fair thing to do.. they shouldn’t expect people to pay full price for a half assed port with less features.
it should be this way with those old ports on wii u too -.-

    • Smartass2

The fair thing to do is add multiplayer.

  • AAAkabob

Ehh ill wait on the inevitable price drops

  • Nintendo_Rules

I haven’t pre-order a game from Amazon before. So do I pay for the full price right away or can I pay a couple days before the game is out? I’m just waiting to see how this game holds up to the first two games.

    • http://WWW.Undergroundraw.com/ Undergroundraw.com

You order, but they won’t charge until they ship. I pre-orded GTA V from Wal-Mart, which is a first for me.

  • Smartass2

No thanks. I’ll get CoD for multiplayer.

  • Andreas Sunde

    1. Still too much for a gimped port.
    2. Amazon UK still lists the Wii U version as the most expensive.

  • Michael Rowlands

you no what is going to happen here no one is going to buy batman arkham origins because of the no online………then warner bros will say…NOT MAKEING ANYMORE GAMES FOR THE WII U……….

    • Elem187

Thats WB’s fault for shipping an incomplete game to Nintendo owners. Trying to pawn off a broken game to a segment of gamers shows they only have contempt for us.

      We are consumers, not charities.

  • Phillip Fry

anyone else notice that amazon says the pre-order bonus is only for ps3 and xbox360? I thought WB confirmed it was heading to Wii U as well

  • Henry Hotspur

Nice for those getting it on Wii U! I’d probably jump on this if I didn’t already reserve the Collector’s Edition for PS3

    • Gotallofthem

Question, why do you waste your time on a website that you dont even own a system?

  • Gotallofthem

Just preordered you cant beat 40bucks. All I care about is the main story. I have arkham city, and I never played any of the other stuff in the game, just played and beat the story.

  • Mitch Hall

Is this only for the Wii U version, or are other systems getting the same deal? If it’s only Wii U, I might just pick up the Wii U version. If not… meh, I’ll just pick it up on PC.

  • Sharingan

I’m getting it. I’ll be buying it for the gameplay (with the Wii U gamepad) and story. I can care less about the multiplayer.

  • MississaugaMaverick

I will be getting this on my wii u. I don’t really care that it is missing the online multiplayer I rather have the extra screen with the wii u anyways.
Should be a great game just like the last two.

  • JVAN63

Not so amazing. Although the Wii U version is $10 cheaper, the versions for other platforms also get a $10 giftcard, and ALSO get free DLC, which the Wii U version does not. So yes, Amazon is recognizing it’s worth less. but across the board the value for all platforms is pretty equal.
