Will there be a youtube version of this too??

  • Yes! Another Podcast! 🙂

  • YouTube version is up for those of you who are listening on your Wii U.

    • Nintendofreak

ty ashley i can finally lay comfortably in bed and hear it on the pad, instead of the bulky laptop 🙂

    • smithjases

wonder if links could be included in article for youtube

    • smithjases

u said u played project p 100. have u downloaded the demo of wonderful 101

    • Zuxs13

That’s awesome. Maybe sometime you can do a video of you guys playing a game you recently reviewed or record your podcast with web cams (since you dont live in the same locations, although that might a big mess with e 1 year old running around in the back ground)

      • Tim Chaten

Yea video is a must if a YouTube version is out there … kinda a waste

        • Zuxs13

No the YouTube version allows Wii U listeners to play it. It is the easiest format for these guys to put their cast on and make it playable on the Wii U.

Now if only the WIi U could multitask and play this in the back ground while playing EarthBound or something, that would be perfect.

          • Tim Chaten

I get that but REALLY – the Wii U is for playing video games – grab your iPhone, Android phone, iPod or whatever and listen to it on an appropriate device – seems ridiculous to be listening to a podcast on the Wii U – I am saying that as a very happy Wii U owner – very crazy thing to do – but hey that’s just me …

          • Yeah the YouTube video is purely for people who were complaining they can’t listen to it on the Wii U. I tried various HTML5 players to make sure it was compatible with the Wii U, but the Wii U doesn’t have the appropriate support for HTML5 sound code in the browser.

Until that’s added, I can only merge the audio file with the gamefans image and put them on YouTube.

          • Zuxs13

Maybe you need to look into the WIi U’s web development kit. I hear that its pretty cool, and who knows maybe there could be a WiiU (Ashley K) app for the Wii U in the near future.

          • Zuxs13

Sure and my Android phone is for making phone calls. They all have multiple capabilities and if I am in my house I can turn this on on my Wii U and crank it through my Home theater system and Listen to it in every room in my house since i have a 4 Zone sound system. Works out pretty great no need for head phones and Mark’s voice can piss off my neighbors lol.

          • Tim Chaten

fair enough – glad that you can do that, but YouTube is a medium designed for video and its annoying that there isn’t video there – Android phones are designed for apps – and one of those is the phone app – a Wii U is designed for playing video games and sure it does some other things, but really …

If you like this podcast there are other great podcasts you’ll only find by using you know a podcast app … you are missing out if you depend on YouTube for all things audio entertainment

          • Zuxs13

You do know this site is called WIIUDaily! so it only makes sense for Ashley to put out something so WiiU users can listen to it on the WiiU. They also have a normal podcast format for listening to it on all the other devices out there as well. I am not sure what is so hard to understand about that?

          • Tim Chaten

Didn’t mean to start something – don’t take things so personally I just think its a weird thing, but I’m cool that it works for you.

NintendoWorldReport doesn’t do this and well that would be the only way to listen on a 3DS or Wii U …

  • Non_Specific_Action_Figure

I remember back when people didn’t have disqus accounts on site and there were no Gamefans Podcasts. Buut… for this NOT to count as spam, I have to say something more on topic. So, what I want to know is, why did this happen? Where did Gamefans come from? Was it an accident? A dare? WHAT MADE THIS HAPPEN?

    • KosmoCrisis

GameFans is a site, a part of the Neverstill family of sites. At one time it had 10 contributors and was a promising place to get all your gaming news, but without a dedicated full time writer/editor the contribs quicker sputtered off, leaving only me. It has since become the place where we post the podcasts and various other Gaming Lifestyle topics. For example, I found Smooth McGroove and posted a couple of his videos on the site. I’m now looking for cool easter eggs in new-ish games and cool knick-knacks people make out of videogame related stuff.

  • Derk

I mean no disrespect, but these things are really long.

The human attention span is only 15 min at best.

    • Thomas Vienna

To those modern viewers not trained in patience, I’m afraid that’s the best you’ll do. However, my attention span is at least a good 3 hours!

      • Tim Chaten

Disagree podcasts are great at an hour – love Giant Bombcast’s mega 3-hour shows

      • Derk

The average human attention span dropped from 12 min to 5 min.
The human mind cannot hold on that long, Its a fact.
        3hrs would be freakish.

        • Thomas Vienna

Well, it all depends on what your definition of attention span is. If you mean ‘the amount of time one can focus on something without being distracted once,’ it’s more like 10 seconds. If you mean ‘the amount of time one can do something before moving on to something else (or feeling the need to),’ then it can be 3 hours easily. That’s how one can sit through a lecture at school, concentrate on a project, or attend a long concert.

    • wober2

A good hour of video game chat is great while your working on something else. I do the same with supholmes and podtoid…

    • These podcasts are perfect to listen to while I’m at work. I don’t think there’s a problem with the length of them as long as they get their point across. Plus I like listening to Ashley, she puts those guys in their place lol

  • wober2

Lol, we all can be significant tippers!

    • misterhearn

Thanks for listening. Now where do I send the $10?

  • Zuxs13

This is a great Sizzle reel to get hyped up for the Wii U.

  • Interloper

I like reading the highest scoring and lowest scoring reviews to set my expectations for a new game. It’ll tell me the parts of the game that might be annoying to me and those that I’ll really enjoy, and 9 times out of 10 if you read the entire review you can tell what kind of games the reviewer likes and compare yourself to see how much you’ll like it. And guess what? Most of the time I disagree with a lot of what the reviews say.
tl;dr version: Reviews are simple guidelines, play what you think you’ll enjoy.

  • smithjases

keza from ign does not impress me with her scores. 7.4 for 101 seems rediculous. i loved the demo. maybe i will feel differently about the full version. metacritic score is slightly higher as the average. famitsu uses 4 reviewers with a 10-10-10-9. i believe this is higher than what they gave pikmin 3. nintendolife gave it a 9 of 10.

    • Derk

W101 is compared to other games that scored a 10 in retrospect….. You can’t give W101 a 9/10….. Do you really think W101 is nearly a perfect game?

Is it as good as skyward sword? Not even Nintendo would agree on that.

  • Tim Chaten

Tried to give it a listen – seemed for me at least the XBox guy was peaking out his microphone and causing distortion 🙁 – otherwise good audio

    • Yeah I need to work with him on getting that fixed. The problem is I’m familiar with Windows machines and he has a Macbook Air, so resolving it for him takes some learning on my part, too.

      • Zuxs13

        Damn Mac’s !!

      • Apple! Ewwwwwwww. (and this from the ‘xbox’ guy! :p)

    • misterhearn

Turns out my mic’s settings were up to the max. Should be good to go on the next round. Thanks for listening.
