Oddworld developer praises Nintendo as a partner

odd-world

Stewart Gilray, the CEO for Just Add Water has stated that Nintendo has been a fantastic company to partner with. The developer is currently working on porting Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD to Wii U and Gilray says there have been no issues working with Nintendo in getting the port onto the console.

“Indeed, their developer relations man is a fan of the franchise so reached out to us to ask for that title specifically, that’s where the discussions started. In terms of what are they like to work with, they’re fantastic. I’ve NEVER had a problem with working with Nintendo in respect of their people and teams, it’s been a case of a problem in terms of the hardware and indeed the lack of a competent digital outlet, until now.”

It’s interesting to note that Gilray also praises Nintendo’s current digital offerings, admitting that previous consoles from Nintendo did not have a robust digital storefront until the Wii U.

I would praise nintendo if i was a developer.this is a great improvement from the wii specs. The wii u is capable of unimaginable power from what was capable when the wii was launced. Well done nintendo and bring on the developers!

    • Marcus Navarro

      ^This. So much this.^

    • Lusunup

I plan on working for Nintendo after I get my game designing and programming degree in AIS I will surely give them all the praise they need.

      • TheGamerGeek128

Best of luck when the time comes.

    • fireheartis1

Yah I love the Wii U too, but you know what the Wii will always be my favorite Nintendo console. Then it’s the Wii U, GameCube, SNES, N64, and then the NES. I don’t know why really but I’ve never had as much fun playing and gaming system in general that I’ve had playing the Wii. That’s why when I put in a Wii game I love that the Wii U goes into a Wii OS. I’m going to grow to love the Wii U just as much, but as of right now I play my Wii games more than the Wii U game I own. Hate me all you want for this comment I will always enjoy my Wii more than anything. This is coming from a Sega Saturn fanboy who gave up his Saturn to have Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story.

      • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

hey man, wii had great games. No hate here

  • Marcus Navarro

It’s funny how Nintendo’s constantly getting flak from many a fanboy/hater, but anyone who works in conjunction with them have NO complaints.

Corporations like EA and Microsoft let their big money do the talking and nothing more. Who needs good relations when you can BUY the companies you work with? Deadlines, strict guidelines set by investors and a council instead of the actual studio managers, and extra bullshit that corporations like Microsoft($50000 for a patch (-_-’) ) and EA(uses devs for their own vision, not the devs’) love to do. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if any of the corporations listed/similar to those 2 pay the devs to shut them up.

Nintendo needs much more than positive feedback from their partners, but based on the fact that they get it in the 1st place, 3rd party devs can see how it’s like to work with Nintendo. The only thing I’d like to see Nintendo do is hire more programmers to speed up the process of porting games to the Wii U. And advertising. Ads would be nice.

Edit: Ignore the springer85 twat. He hasn’t had his daily Mountain Dew and Doritos yet.

    • Brandon Gardner

Very well said… I feel you on Nintendo should hire more programmers to speed up the process of porting games and also advertising is a huge plus for them that needs to happen asap

    • Clel

I saw Pikmin 3 ads on YouTube the other day. On TV as well, even though I spend less than 5 minutes a month watching TV.

    • Steven_Segal

      Who is springer85?

      • Marcus Navarro

Some random person who’s trolling this page right now. People(myself included) are having a hard time ignoring his stupidity.

        • Steven_Segal

Remember, never feed the troll. People like him are full of stupidity and ignorance. This people take a bath 2 days a week since trolling has them very occupied. They don’t play video games, they watch IGNorants.com reviews and bash games without even playing them. So please understand this specimen.

      • Decker Shado

Troll. Believed to be one in the same as KnowledgeIsWhatsUp, possibly also Truthteller, Jarvis, likely more. Loves to come to Wii U Daily and bait people by flaming everything in every way. Uses the term “slurper” a lot.

        • Steven_Segal

Ohh, I know who he is!

      • NkoSekirei

u need to go kick his @$$ steven segal show him ur moves

        • Steven_Segal

LOL, I don’t want to bully him. I’m too much of a beast for him

    • kaygivs

what’s wrong with mountain dew and doritos?

    • PINJ

Ever Heard Of A Non Disclosure Agreement? No? Then STFU

  • Mark Thom

keep it up nintendo.. get more developer on your side :)

  • Brandon Gardner

I have a serious question and I am NOT bashing Nintendo so please do not down vote me for asking this just wanting to have a conversation but Do you think if the Wii U doesn’t sell like Nintendo wants it to during the holiday season or if they have another “bad year” with no true support from other developers do you think Nintendo will be forced to create a brand new console in the next two years or will they wait it out?

    • Clel

      DOWNVOTE BWARHAHARHAR!!!

I kid, I kid. I think that, if all else fails, Nintendo will most likely try to hang on until Smash Bros comes out, and go completely bonkers with advertising for the game.

      • Matthew Stapleton

Agreed, they’ll advertise the hell out of Smash Bros, and Mario Kart

      • Brandon Gardner

I agree I wish they will go bonkers with advertising now but I think the ads will really start rolling out mid October early November for DK and Mario 3d World

    • Matthew Stapleton

I think they’ll wait. They’re quite proud of the system as it is. I just wish it had more online support. I only have about 5 games, and the only one I play online is Sonic Racing.

    • Will.F. Martinez

No i dont think Nintendo would make a a new console this early. Tho wiiu sells are bad right now nintendo is still making profit not out of this console but from other directions (3ds, software). they’ve been switching focus on the wiiu now so it’ll pick up. plus i think everyone else that owns a wiiu would agree. but there’s nothing wrong with the wiiu itself that they’ll need to start working on a new console just yet. everything will change once those first party games release

    • Zombie Boy

I think they’ll take action, but I’m not entirely sure what it’ll be yet. Wii Fit U comes out in December, again with a new Wii Fit board and other accessories, which may show a boost in casual gamers (like it did for the Wii). With that in mind, I think Nintendo would work on a new add-on for their existing console. This is the thing with Nintendo, they always think of ideas that other companies don’t. Maybe it’ll be another motion-based product. Maybe it’ll simply be a Nintendo hard drive to expand the Wii U’s memory. Who knows?

They need to step up their advertising a bit, though from what I’ve heard, they’ve already started doing that. They also need to start making it clear that the Wii U is a whole new console and not just a new gamepad, as it seems that’s all everybody focuses on. And finally, they need to get more devs on board, as it’s those exclusive titles (like Sonic Lost World and Bayonetta 2) that draw the crowds.

      • Truthteller

Casual gamers like CHEAP too! Causal gamers won’t spend too much on a system. They also would not see any benefits of getting a new Wii Fit. How many ways do they need to be fit? That was the lazy person’s way of acting like they were getting exercise. The Wii fad is over, never to be repeated again. Too many Wii owner realized that real gamers did not opt to play a Wii nor did they own one. They realized that there must have been a reason for that.

        • NkoSekirei

          shut up meg

    • RARE

I think the next Nintendo console won’t be out for at least 5 more years. However if they were smart, they would try to go all out with it in terms of power. That way, 3rd party support would increase since developers tend to not like making multiplatform games for WiiU because it can’t handle as much fidelity as the PS4 or XB1. As far as gameplay experiences go, I think the WiiU has a definite creative edge. But it seems devs are trying to push graphics more than better gameplay/storytelling, which makes them shy away from the WiiU.

      • Brandon Gardner

Yeah I am all about gameplay and could care less sometimes about graphics but that’s what sells now people want a console now where they can do everything ie watch movies, fix sandwiches etc lol but that’s the great thing about Nintendo is that they are always thinking outside the box… PS4 and XBox One always copy off of Nintendo some way… That’s why I wish sometimes Nintendo was last releasing their new system

        • Will.F. Martinez

i agree with you all the way. if nintendo was last releasing everything wouldve been different with the wiiu in terms of sells.

        • Ducked

They did survive the disaster sales of the GameCube, and I’m sure the Wii U will sell more then 23 million units in it’s life, so there probably wait it out to work more on the next console like they did with the GameCube.

          Hopefully that doesn’t happen though.

          • Farad Hassan

I loved my gamecube. I’m sure whoever owned one didn’t think it was a disaster. How many units was it supposed to sell?

And P.s… I only traded it in because the Wii was backward compatible with my Wavebird wireless controllers and all of my gamecube games.

          • Ducked

The GameCube was a great console, but sales wise it was a bit of a disaster. It only sold 23 million units, less then the original Xbox, and PS2.

I love the console design, and it has my favorite controller. It had some solid games to, and was very affordable. But to many people over looked it. It’s a shame because it was a nice console.

The GameCube actually had better graphics then PS2 did. (which a lot of people don’t know) The only reason they missed out on big games that the PS2 got is because the small disc didn’t have enough memory to support long open world games like Okami, Kingdom Hearts, Shadow of Colossus and a few others.

      • Marcus Navarro

Graphics and gameplay don’t go hand-in-hand. At least not most of the time.

        • RARE

I completely agree. I have more fun playing Nintendo games than any other 1st party title’s offerings. It’s not about the graphics, but big brand developers keep throwing pretty looking games at people and consumers keep buying them even if they aren’t as fun or compelling. I feel if Nintendo had a system that could produce graphics at the same level as competitors, they’d attract more interest, but then ALSO hold that interest with the better game experiences only Nintendo can offer.

          • Zombie Boy

Not trolling, but that approach didn’t work with the Gamecube. I think Nintendo went in the right direction with the Wii and Wii U, offering something different to the competition.

          • Linskarmo

I wonder why it didn’t work for the GameCube? Maybe the “best graphics” craze hadn’t caught on yet, I guess.

          • Zombie Boy

I’m just going from what I remember of the time here… I think a lot of people saw Nintendo as ‘stuck in the past’ when it came to the N64/Playstation era, because of the use of cartridges, and everybody wanted what they saw as the next evolutionary step in console technology – disc based games – and as we all know, the original Playstation did VERY well because of it. So when the PS2 came out (with it’s backwards compatibility), Playstation fans just upgraded.
The Gamecube wasn’t backwards compatible, so that was one problem (that Nintendo have since learnt from), and because of the previous generation, Nintendo already had to fight an uphill battle when it came to winning over new fans with the Gamecube, and they weren’t really offering anything drastically different to what the more popular console had.
Fortunately, Sony completely messed up the launch of the PS3, Nintendo offered something new with the Wii, and the rest is history.
Nobody can predict how this next generation will go yet because the other consoles lack things such as backwards compatibility, which has proven so popular in the past, but offer different things. The question is, will gamers want those things? Only time will tell (they may have high numbers of pre-orders, but there will inevitably be a lull after launch, while people weigh up the pros and cons of each console and decide which way to jump, and then we’ll see what’s what). Nintendo is in a good position, because of the success of the Wii (look at the Playstation – PS2 upgrade I mentioned), and hopefully they’ll take full advantage of it.

          • Linskarmo

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. :) I hope all of the 8 gen consoles do well, actually. I wouldn’t like to see any blown out of the water.

      • Steven_Segal

I disagree, clearly the problem is that Wii U has not sell well (mainly because if lack 1st party out, delays and what not) As you saw on the original Wii we even got NBA 2k13, Madden 13 and WWE 13. So the problem is not the power that the console has, it’s how it sells
        .

        • RARE

The WiiU not selling well is obviously the problem. I’m addressing a big reason WHY its not selling. WiiU isn’t getting the 3rd party support it wants and needs yet because developers don’t want to tap into its creative potential. Ubisoft’s blind support of WiiU has yielded so many great ways to play and they’re quick to point out they can do things with the WiiU that they can’t do on other systems. We need 3rd parties to really dive into WiiU, and we need some 1st party games to show what the WiiU can do. All my friends love my WiiU after they try it just once. It’s gonna do just fine, its just something that needs to be experienced to understand. You can’t watch a commercial like you could for the original Wii and totally get it. The ultimate struggle is making people understand why the console is great and it seems that the best way to do that is let consumers try it for themselves, which is not that easy to do.

    • Fred

If it was me (assuming sales don’t pick up like you said) I’d continue full bore and when I was ready to end the 3DS life I’d make a new portable version of the Wii U where everything was in the GamePad and give it an HDMI output so that people that want the new Nintendo Portable will buy a Wii U.

      • Brandon Gardner

I know this going to waaaayyyy out there for saying this but I wish that Nintendo had some way teamed up with Apple on making the Gamepad…. Steve Jobs said that if Apple ever made a gaming console than Nintendo would be their competition

        • Fred

Really? I didn’t know he said that. They certainly make THE BEST GAMES.

        • Marcus Navarro

Apple’s the worst possible choice, man.

      • Fred

There are a few upsides to this.
1-This new portable console won’t start out with the lack of games that the 3DS and Wii U did as they will have a decent number of Wii U games by then.
2-They already combined their portable console and home console divisions they might as well have them start working as 1.
3-Every time they come out with a new game they have the potential to sell it to all their Home players AND all their portable players instead of just one or the other.
4-We would start seeing much more frequent releases as all their developers would be developing for this system.
5-Maybe they would then have the man power to support the sytem by themselves (even if none of the 3rd parties want to make games for them)

        • Truthteller

The down side is no 3D.

          • Fred

I can’t argue with that, but if people are wanting the 3D they could just add 3D and do like they did with the GameBoy Color It will play ALL the Wii U games in 2D and all the Wii U 3D games in 2D&3D

      • Deadpool U

Weird I had the same idea with the 360 when I used to be a Micro$oft fanboy.

        • Fred

Don’t get me wrong I’m no expert and I’m not claiming that is what Nintendo is going to do, but with my limited knowledge on the situation that is what makes the most sense to me.

If you’re implying that I’m a fanboy you might be right I guess it would depend on your definition of fanboy I’ve heard several definitions and I meet some of them, but not all of them.

          • Deadpool U

No I’m not saying you’re a fanboy I was just saying how weird it was that we had the same idea but when I had it I was a Micro$oft fanboy.

    • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

I don’t think the hardware is the problem so making a new console would not be the solution.

    • incoherent1

I think even if the Wii U completely bombs and loses all 3rd party support (which even the biggest haters would probably agree is unlikely — at least some will stick around for major releases like CoD), that Nintendo will have to continue to support it for at least another 3 years.

Why? Who is going to buy another console if they stopped supporting their most recent one after a year or two? No one. Video game consoles are an investment, and no one is going to invest in another console if they’ve abandoned their last. Just my $0.02

      • fireheartis1

This is very true. It’s the reason why Sega had to go 3rd party. They had too many consoles and not enough game to play them all. Although I was a Sega fanboy back then(before the word even was around lol) I can admit that was their main flaw. Nintendo has never made this mistake which is why it’s stupid for people to say they should go 3rd party.

        • incoherent1

Agreed! Thankfully the closest Nintendo has come to it is the Virtual Boy, that didn’t even sell a million units, and I think they learned their lesson to only release consoles they can stand by long term.

          • Deadpool U

You know with the virtual boy I feel it was a good idea but needed more development.

  • Yousif Alromaithi

The guys that speak bad things about Nintendo were bribed because of the 3DS and Wii.

  • SonicLucario

    Well this is interesting

  • Sperling

I still don’t really get the “underpower” statment about the WiiU. I know the specs and I’ve seen a lot of discussions about not confirming that the WiiU is really that underpowered compared to the PS4 and the Xbone. The games I’ve seen so far, on the WiiU, looks a lot better then the current generation in terms of graphics (correct me if I’m wrong). The main discussion it’s about if WiiU can handle next gen graphics, some people say It can, even if there’s only 3 cores (comparing to the 8 cores of the PS4 and Xbone) nowadays PC games only use 2 cores. By the way, the espresso CPU it’s a lot better unit than any of the others cores. The problem would be that the WiiU would not be able to do as much work as the other consoles, but would be able to handle the grephics if the softwares were well optimized (those are not my words, I’ve just heard it).
Well, specs are not as simple as it used to be back in the old days (16bits, “blastprocessing”, 64bit…)

    • Matthew Stapleton

The only real reason you should need multi cored processors is so the system can multi task. downloading in the background and the like. The U with its 3 core processor is just right the way it is. The 8 cored processors on the PS4 and X1 are just sheer overkill compared to what you really need. Kind of like putting an engine from a P-51 Mustang into a Piper Cub. I’m an aviation nut can ya tell lol.

      • Mark

Or the fricking beast of an engine from the Boeing 777 (the plane with the largest turbofan engines in history) on an Airbus A320.

    • NkoSekirei

wii u is running on 2011 specs while ps3 and 360 are running on outdated specs from mid 2000s so wii u is capable of running powerful game engines like unreal engine 4,frostbite and several others as well

  • mr.Goodbar

Didn’t even read half way through your shitty story lol. You comparing Wii with Wii U is based on looks of the console. I bet you don’t even own one. So I suggest you just stay sitting down and stfu.

  • Marcus Navarro

You lost credibility after “ridiculous price tag.”Believe what you want, but the fact of the matter is this:
    A) power doesn’t win console races(PS2, anyone?)

    B) Wii U sales are slow because the GAMES aren’t out, NOT the power
    C) PS4 and XboxDone will have the EXACT same growing pains as the Wii U, especially the latter. They will also have a boost in sales when the big titles come out for them.

    D) PS4 and XboxDone are both glorified mini-PCs, the latter charging PLENTY extra for a feature set that comes FREE on a PC. Hell, you can get the Xbox LIVE feature set on a damn smartphone! I can watch live TV on my AT&T phone! I guess I have a portable Xbox!

    E) PS4′s HDD will hold more than just games/game saves. In fact, based on its feature set alone, most of its capacity won’t be used for games(although that depends on whether or not one buys digital).
    F) Blu-ray’s ultra-glorified and damn near DEAD due to the digital age. Netflix and Hulu will ensure its demise. It will only be used for a medium for games and games only(which the Wii U’s Blu-ray drive is used for)

    • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

      that is correct:

      F) Blu-ray’s ultra-glorified and damn near DEAD due to the digital age.
Netflix and Hulu will ensure its demise. It will only be used for a
medium for games and games only(which the Wii U’s Blu-ray drive is used
      for)

  • Marcus Navarro

Denial? Clarify the fallacies(if any) in my argument. Go ahead. I’ll wait. Maybe I’ll take a piss while I’m at it. Oh, wait…
    You’re doing it for me!

    • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

i don’t like xbox and PS, but i don’t to xboxdaily or ps4 web to talk sht.
      i just don’t buy them.

      • Petri

Reasoning with the internet is pretty futile and complete waste of time, rather just get few laughs off it.

  • mr.Goodbar

You obviously don’t understand economics. LOL!!!

    • NkoSekirei

      cause hes retarded

  • Lassassino

I can play smash bros on ps4

    • Matthew Stapleton

And I would LOVE to find out how you can accomplish that lol.

  • Zack Elam

So based on your argument you could say the exact same thing about COD. Every COD is exactly the same as the previous one with slightly shinier graphics. But I bet you wouldn’t agree because you are probably a COD fan boy which means only games and companies you don’t like recycle graphics and textures in games.

    • oontz

Why does every Nintendo fanboy always bring up COD? COD is not some holy grail that all other game software is compared to. Give it up! You sound like a lame, immature loser when you mention COD. Just stop, please. Just because someone doesn’t support your system of choice doesn’t mean they only play COD, seriously… stop.

  • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

WHO BUY blu ray movies this year?
    come on!

  • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

    why so serious?
you’re the one that come here crying.

What’re you doing in a Wii u web if you don’t like it?

  • mr.Goodbar

Wii didn’t come with Zelda at launch you troll.. trololol!!
Bet youre on this site bcuz you got kicked out of ign.

    • Ice Climbers

      Twilight Princess.

      • mr.Goodbar

Nope. Had to buy that seperate. I bought a Wii at launch. Or did It come with twilight.. man I forgot its been years lol.

        • springer85

LMFAO yes it was available at launch you lame Nintendo slurper!!!!!!
You call urself a Ninty lover yet u do not even know thw Wii launch games!!!!

          • Matthew Stapleton

For the most part it doesn’t matter, or maybe in your perfect world we should also know the launch titles for ALL past consoles as well. Do you troll? I’d be VERY interested in hearing them.

          • mr.Goodbar

YOU called me that. Its really embarrassing how retarded you are. Whatever console you’re into please count me out! Because it sure looks like it aint helping your education very much. Oh well.. we do love trolls here, keeps the conversations heated! Carry on peon!

          • NkoSekirei

ur becoming more retarded every stupid comment u make against everyone here u douche

        • 00EpicGamer00

Zelda Twilight Princess didn’t come in the box, with the Wii. It was a separate game that released when the Wii launched.

  • mr.Goodbar

I rather have a “Cack” on that game than getting a 15 dollar blue ray LOL

  • Zack Elam

Obviously your system of choice must not be that entertaining as you are spending sooo much time on a nintendo site trying to downplay and discredit a nintendo console that you claim is dead and that you obviously dont own. Try harder next time troll. In our free time we actually enjoy playing our console of choice, we dont spend our time trying to make ourselves feel better by going on an xbox site and bashing the xbone. We all know the xbone is a joke, we dont need to bash it to make ourselves feel better like you obviously have to do by posting comments on this site.

    • oontz

“We all know the xbone is a joke”

No one knows how the xbox one will do since it hasn’t been released yet. Truth is it will probably sell millions and do well in the market. By you saying it’s a joke before it’s released, is just as bad as someone saying the wiiu is doomed. You’re no different and just as bad as other haters.

  • Zack Elam

Should I list out for you all the times patcher has been wrong about things relating to nintendo? Lmao! Epic fail troll

    • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

List all the times Patcher has been wrong??

Ain’t Nobody got time fo dat!!!

  • Marcus Navarro

I told everyone to ignore you, but this level of stupidity cannot pass.
Pachter is a reverse sage: every prediction he makes, the opposite occurs. The ONE GUY that said the PS3 was on-par with PCs IN THE SAME TIMEFRAME! Who the fuck does that?! PCs in 2010 were basically the XboxDone and PS4…but with 4 cores.
Get the fuck out of here. Right. Now.

    • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Don’t let him get you down. We know the Wii U is struggling but nothing you or anyone says will change his attitude. He will continue to call people names along with his buddy “truthteller” (that is if they are not the same person already”.

The same stuff was said about the Wii and 3DS before this by Patcher and haters such as springer. The fact is no one really knows for sure if the Wii U will be successful but using information from recent history about a new console the ones with a brain realize that sometimes it takes time. The main thing Nintendo failed on is delivery of the games which is being remedied now.

So I will ignore this troll and when I get home from work today I will play some Pikmin 3 since I am getting the game two days early thanks to the game being released on Sunday and Best Buy having this guarantee to get the game on or before launch day if you are a GamersClub reward zone member with silver status.

        ‘Grats on getting Pikmin 3!
I was ignoring him. It’s just that there are some things that cannot pass, blatent stupidity and selective ignorance being two of them. I’m not sobbing in a corner over it and my PC’s still healthy, but it’s one of those peeves.
And don’t even remind me about the Wii and DS. I was on the PSP wagon since ’04, and I STILL think I should’ve kept my DS. So many games I missed out on, including The World Ends With You… As for the Wii, I didn’t like it, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t have a plethora of kick-ass games.

        • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

That’s the thing about trolls… They are always “blatantly” stupid, they always claim they are just spreading the truth, they always have some (not so) clever names to call others, and if you use facts and/or common sense then you are a paid agent for the company they are here to spread hate for.

  • RoboticLink

Tune in next week when EA admits that Nintendo is the best gaming company ever!

  • Matthew Stapleton

    Wii U always

  • Archiq09

If more compagny heard it. :3

  • Fred

Honestly The Best games is a preference/opinion thing, but overall I enjoy their games more then any other company’s games.
I recognize that there are other people that aren’t fans of Nintendo’s games, but to me they are the most fun

  • Fred

If you’re right then we’ve hit a 180 from last GEN when the cheap Wii sold like nobody’s business.

  • Andrew Chambers

You’re right, it’s a rip off. Let’s go spend $400-500 on a mid-range gaming pc from two years ago instead.

  • Wayne Beck

It has never had anything to do with cheap. The Wii sold so outstandingly well because it was simply fun. The Casual Base that Nintendo found with the Wii will not adopt any new console until they see raw fun. Graphics mean nothing to the 100 million Wii players. When Wii U starts releasing the kind of fun easy access party games that made the Wii so popular, people will start to upgrade. They will never get 100% of the last gen because a lot of them do do not care about upgrading. They will get enough of them to turn a profit. In the end, that’s all that matters.

  • Wayne Beck

A Console cannot fail in a single year. That is not how this industry works.

  • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

With comments like this then you wonder why you are classified as a troll. Of course you think this to be the truth right?

    • Zombie Boy

With comments like this, I wonder if he’s classified as ‘mentally disturbed’? Seriously, what he’s saying is not normal…

      • fireheartis1

Looks like ignoranceteller gave you a thumbs down. It’s alright the rest of us will thumbs it up lol.

        • Zombie Boy

He always does because I won’t respond to him, so its the only thing he can do to make him feel like he has some power.

  • Marcus Navarro

Agents hired to type good things about Nintendo…seems legit -_-
    Take the tinfoil hat off.

    • Truthteller

I hate that excuse – the tin foil hat thing. It is common knowledge that most posters on sites are not real people, but hired guns to hype things up be it a product, celeb, show, politics, racism, gayness or anything else. You must be one of them since you use that tired old line.

      • Decker Shado

By that logic, most likely you are a hired gun yourself.

      • Marcus Navarro

Hired to speak good things about Nintendo on a Nintendo product site. That literally makes no sense. Literally. That theory would be barely plausible on a site that has NOTHING TO DO WITH NINTENDO and even that’s questionable, but why the hell would anyone give people cash to say good things about Nintendo…on a site that’s based on a Nintendo console?

        Logic fails thee.
Edit: Nah, bro. The excuse hates you.

        • Truthteller

Using the old reverse psychology tactic huh? Would you think that a Nintendo site or a site about one of their products would be OK for them to have mostly negatives on the product of BS positives? All you use the same excuses, taken from a script like call centers. Stop lying to us buddy, we know the deal. You just need to do your jobs better instead of bullying.

          • Marcus Navarro

Just think about it for a sec instead of embellishing my ideas with your “product-pushing employee” toss, okay?
Wouldn’t one’s services in that department be of more use on a site that had nothing to do with Nintendo? I believe it would. Maybe your ideology conflicts with mine and you believe that they’re here to push a product on a site pushing a product. Microsoft actually did what you think the fans/fanboys here are doing, and you seem to think that people expressing their love for Nintendo, whether understandable or not…is on the same level as reps advertising the XboxDone near Wii U kiosks. LOGIC! IT’S NOT VERY EFFECTIVE!

I can see the overly-optimistic people CLEARLY! Just like Xbox fanboys willing to get fleeced by Microsoft and EA yearly or technologically-challenged Sony fanboys that are NOT getting actual gaming PCs, it’s REALLY hard to miss. But they’re here, so what’cha gonna do, hassle them all?

Edit: Calling one out on their bullshit is not bullying. It’s calling one out on their own bullshit. / If you don’t like your plastic shell being pointed out as such, I can understand why you’re so butthurt. The life of a troll must be quite bland.(I was so nice that I even put a / between the statements so you can differentiate between what you’d consider a counter-argument(former) and bullying(latter))

      • fireheartis1

Yep it’s actually you Ignoranceteller who is the “hired gun” on this sight. No one hear gets paid by Nintendo fool. I play Nintendo because I’ve played their systems since I was 7. I’ve always been a big Nintendo, Sega, and even Sony fanboy. The only Microsoft Xbox I liked was the first one. Wii will always be my favorite system because it was fun to play with my wife and kids. I think your the “hired gun” because only an idiot paid to put that stuff up would actually do it. I’m tired of feeding you troll enough replying to you. It’s time to stop even reading your stupid comments.

      • Erik

Hired? Look at ESPN.. they hire “expert analysts” to predict the out come of a game and just give biased opinions and never give love to the other underrated teams. They (ESPN) just want to hype things up for a game, hell even the stupid Red Sox vs Yankees game is getting a bit old, just for ratings. We, as people (get the word “PEOPLE”), give our opinions based on whats given to us and we make it honest as it is without being biased. So if i were you, I’d think twice before even commenting about how Nintendo is part of the “propaganda” and such. You have no knowledge. Get a PhD of Busniess at an Ivy League and then we will talk.

    • fireheartis1

LOL now that’s funny, but I don’t think Ignoranceteller will ever take the tinfoil hat off. He’s probably waiting to be abducted right now, while he thinks of more stupid things to put on this sight.

  • Marcus Navarro

And TV/Sports/every PC amenity/80% multiplatform game library/2010 PC/ $60/yr is what people wanted from the XboxDone as well? Riiight.

  • Marcus Navarro

Completely subjective. Want the 12s it took for you to write that vain comment back yet?

  • springer85

A Sega Nintendo console would be so Epic!!
Have Mario,Zelda,F Zero,Metroid, Sonic,Shenmue,Virtua Fighter,Panza Dragon as AAA launch games that would blow away the competiton!!!

    • 00EpicGamer00

Did you know that the Wii U is getting Sonic games?

  • Steven_Segal

You need some nice music to relax and think better…

    Here…

  • NintendoNoob

Then why is the Xbox One selling pre orders then?

  • CMB

Please get of this website and never come back. For the sake of all of us.

    • Adderell

Dude, you cannot feed the trolls, they come back when you do

      • CMB

I felt sorry for it, it looked so hungry. A big mistake I made, no more feeding him.

  • ItzameyaToad

I find it odd that Nintendo is spitting his dummy’s out… seems a bit strange. Well im sure he is happy to know where all his dummy’s went.. hahaha

Side note I find it funny how you keep coming on here saying stuff just to get a rise out of people. You obviously know Wii U is about to turn out successful so you feel you must come here and get people to comment back. Anyone with a brain knows that every console has it’s up’s and downs and yet people like you exist.

  • Ducked

Lay off the crack before posting.

    -Thank You

    • Srpg2ishere

      XD

    • RARE

Don’t you mean, lay off the quack?

      • Ducked

        What? Who’s quacking?

  • Srpg2ishere

Customer: Hm.. Let’s see.. should I get Wii U deluxe with Nintendo Land and Lego City Undercover for $400? Or.. PS4 basic with nothing for $400? XD

    • jrob23

by PS4 launch it will be “should I get a Wii U deluxe with NintendoLand, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze AND The Wonderful 101 or a PS4 Basic for $400? Because by then, the Wii U most likely drops $50. That is an easy decision for me!!

      • oontz

If you’re an uneducated consumer and don’t do your research first then maybe it’s an easy decision.

People don’t mind spending some extra money if the difference is great, such as the hardware difference between wiiu and ps4

        • jrob23

please…there isn’t going to be much difference between 1080p 60fps and 1080p 60fps. Keep telling yourself that lol. There IS a difference though. Wii U gets a gamepad and has offscreen play, 5 player local, backwards compatibility, and is less expensive. Nobody makes a more quality piece of hardware than Nintendo. Enjoy your PS4 games, that you can also play on PS3 because there will be negligible difference in graphics between the two (at least initially). BTW, I plan on getting a PS4. Software is all that truly separates these consoles. If you are a Halo fan you have to have Xbox. If you like the multitude of stellar Nintendo franchises you buy a Wii U, if like a plethora of high quality games you get Sony. Quality over quantity? ha ha ha. Try same quality, more games….easy decision

          • oontz

“Try same quality, more games….easy decision”

Sorry you’re wrong. Sony has 30 PS4 exclusives in development, with 20 coming in the first year and 12 of which are new IPs… looks like SONY listens to IT’s fans and is making sure there are a ton of GAMES and no droughts on the PS4. This doesn’t even include ALL the 3rd party content that simply wont come to the wiiu (regardless of why).

Look I bought my wiiu at launch and get some enjoyment from it. I bought it cause I don’t mind paying just to play Nintendo software. I knew buying it that I’d also need to buy a ps4 (just like last generation) and I am okay with that… But if I had to pick just ONE console this christmas (due to financial reasons) it wouldn’t be the wiiu. Nintendo has dropped the ball on this console.

Thankfully I can easily afford any system I want. So I’ll be playing PS4/Wiiu this generation. Never been a fan of xbox.

  • DragonSilths

It was at 4.5 Million awhile ago…

  • 00EpicGamer00

Isn’t there a running and jumping mechanic in almost every game?

So, what you’re saying is, side-scrolling, platform games are not good for the present? Only the past? So, does that mean Ubisoft is stuck in the past? Is Sony stuck in the past as well? Cause, guess what? Nintendo isn’t the only company that has platforming games.

    • Truthteller

You hardly see jumping in every game. Maybe I should have spelled it out for you since you could not understand in the context that we were speaking. Running and jumping from platform to platform is old and played out.

      • 00EpicGamer00

If it was played out, then they wouldn’t be making those type of games anymore, a der her! It’s these magically things called, “sales”, and “popularity.” You should look them up :)
Lol “I should have spelled it out for you.” Umm…you already spelled it out. That’s basically the only way to communicate with a computer xD

Why do you think I said “in almost every game?” Also, you never answered if Sony and Ubisoft is behind in times. They make side-scrolling, platforming games too. So they must be behind, correct?

  • Jeovany

Well at least indie companies like nintendo. Now If only indie games sold consoles.

  • starwars360

I huge fans of Xbox consoles and achievements who spent it more then Nintendo and Sony consoles but I still loved Wii U and PS3 so far. Soon will be own Xbox One by launch and in 2014, I will get PS4.

I totally respect each type of famous Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony consoles.

I must said gimmicky is Wii, PS3′s Move and Xbox 360′s Kinect and soon next will be Xbox One’s Kinect

Wii U is not gimmicky. But the fact is Wii U is problem because of console high price, sale poor and not much games come out for Wii U between January and June 2013 before Pikmin 3 released in July (4th Aug for US) then this month see lots of Wii U games come out and throughout to Christmas 2013 and into 2014. Sale will improves by Christmas 2013. My believe since lots of Wii U games in retail stores and online stores by then. :P

You need to respect to all type of gamers. Not come here and search to bashing. You look like cave of trolls. :/

Fuck you, Fuck off and Fuck fill of CoD troll. Bye troll!!!

  • WellWisher

Can’t wait for Stranger’s Wrath. That and Halo made me jealous of my friend with an Xbox around 10 years ago.
