GTA 5 for Wii U: would you buy it? [POLL]

Would you buy GTA V for Wii U? Take our poll and tell us why you think Rockstar consider the Wii U for all their games.

GTA-V-retail-render

Today marks one of the biggest game releases this year as Grand Theft Auto 5 finally launches, but what about GTA 5 for Wii U? Gamers have come to accept that Rockstar doesn’t bring their games to Nintendo consoles – this is nothing new – and there surely will not be a Wii U version of this latest installment.

If only for a moment, let’s set aside our differences with Rockstar. What if they did make GTA V for Wii U? There are plenty of mature titles on the platform to choose from, so it’s not something that should shock parents at the registers. Wii U owners I’ve spoken with say we shouldn’t beat a dead horse, meaning we’ve known it’s not coming so why talk about it- but I say why ignore it? Why pretend it’s not an issue or at least an irritation?

Wii U Daily readers are a hardcore bunch of honest Nintendo gamers, many of which own other platforms too and have expressed their interest in the Wii U version of multi-platform titles in the past. So I ask you this one simple yet deeply vexing question:

Would you buy GTA V for Wii U? Take the poll below and leave a comment below telling everyone why you voted the way you did.

  • Shota

yes totally. gamepad extra features and off tv play. come on rockstar

    • Igor

I really don’t know why you guys like this off tv play stuff. The good thing bout playing a big console is being able to enjoy the game in a big tv. Not in a low res tiny screen. Otherwise get a 3ds/vita

      • Shaise

This is the whole point of it!!!!!!! What if someone wants to watch TV, yes you can continue playing!!!!!!!! Oh &, he meant second screen, when playing on the TV, you could have a map on the gamepad

        • Baum 「ツリー」

          he said off-tv…

And it IS kinda dumb, that so many people prefer it to playing on the TV screen…I totally understand the whole “keep playing while someone else’s watching TV” talk and I actually use it from time to time, but since I’ve got my own TV (and I BET that a lot of the people, who are always coming up with this as “best” feature of the Wii U, do, too)

          • Shaise

Ok then, dont use it no ones forcing you, but you can still use the gamepad for a map on it or something

          • That dude

The wii u gamepad was supposed to do so much, but it seems that its only a big *** map for every game or a low res version of a game. I hope they start selling the console and controller separately cuz most people dont want to deal with it

          • Nathaniel Lopez

I keep wishing that devs would use it as a customizable quick access to inventory items/menu/stats, but unfortunatey it’s as you said. I get the whole idea of having a map on a bigger screen, but honestly the regular small mini-map works fine for most of the time.

          • Tim van Broekhoven

Yeah, like in AC3 they could’ve made it so that you don’t have to hold the L button for your weapons, but just display it on the gamepad. Now the only thing on there is a simple map…

          • Falcoxcalibur

You don’t play many Wii U games, do you?

          • Starfoxguy

If the console and controller were sold separate how would you play games?

          • Andrew Chambers

I’m guessing he’s expecting a overhaul of the OS.

          • val berger

I personally also think, the WiiU would have been far more successful if they would have just relied on the WiiMote and put more power into the System. The Wiimote and Nunchuk are still original enough to carry a whole console generation and in this case they could just have called it Wii2 and everyone would’ve understood what it is.
I personally really like the whole Gamepad integration, but I totally understand why many others don’t.

          • val berger

at first place it’s a map for 3rd party ports, which is totally logical. the more original WiiU games from 1st parties are being released, the better the use of the gamepad will get. If you would port a game like GTA, which just wasn’t being created with the WiiU in mind from scratch, you can only adapt features onto the gamepad afterwards and usually, the most natural thing to do is add off-tv and a map. sure, Pikmin also doesn’t do much more than that, but that game was originally planned to be a Wii-release, so the 2nd gen of WiiU games should bring more gamepad-fancyness. And if not, who cares. I guess, the Gamepad was never really supposed to be such a main element but some assistive Gadget for Inventory, Maps and so on like you saw it in ZombiU.
I can imagine that Wii Party U may come up with some nice fresh concepts straight from Nintendo.

          • devmiles

agree, we overestimated the gamepad features, only few games really make use of it and still more and more could be done. i think nintendo has been too quick with development and release, they should have spent proper time, like another year to develop and push the hardware and release it same time with sony and microsoft, the game would have been different but it would have given nintendo way more time to finalize their games, launch and actual hardware.

          • Shaise

Thats like saying sell Dualshock seperately, & theres other things that can be done with the Gamepad

          • Krypto Konon TehHedgehog

The tiny screen displays gameplay in HD…

          • NintendoNoob

It actually displays in 480p but the colors are so well saturated on the gamepad that it looks better than HD

          • RyuNoHadouken

            it does not

          • Truthteller

Yup. This is another reason the Wii U has flopped. Nintendo and their agents keep telling us what we should like but yet that gimmick controller has no useful gimmcks. We don’t need off-tv play nor the controller to begin with.

          • Marcus Navarro

It’s nice to have the option, shallow-minded one. Also, there’s another option for a controller, so stop crying.

          • Falcoxcalibur

Speak for yourself. It is obvious that you don’t own a Wii U, so your opinion is invalid.

          • david jarman

We don’t need video games period, but it’s a nice luxury to have.
The potential to things that can’t be done on other consoles is there and those aren’t my words that’s what slightly mad studios, ubisoft, criterion, capcom, activision, frozenbyte, crytek, platinum, sega and shin’ en have all stated and why? Cause of the controller thank you, good nite.

          • Truthteller

Sadly, those are not enough to keep that system alive. Nintendo will have to kill it.

          • david jarman

Nope, aside from gta v being big at stores so were the pre-orders for wind waker HD bundles.

          • Theiz Zzee

I can see why people like the off TV feature kind of like a tablet vs a computer. Sometimes you just want to lay back or lay down and play in a more relaxed manner without having to sit in front of the T.V. to continue to play.

          • val berger

it’s not because you can continue playing when some one is watching TV, it’s more that you aren’t forced to play on the TV. Off TV enables you to play in bed before going to sleep, play while taking a bath, maybe even play while sitting outside.

          • LonDonE247

while i like the feature of off tv play, no way do i use it as much as some claim they do, for me the whole point of enjoying a hd game is to play on a proper tv, plus these days a small hdtv is dirt cheap, i have my sony bravia in my living room along with my gaming monitor on my gaming pc, so i just switch to that, when the wife or kids wanna watch tv! off tv play is so overrated!

          • Arthur Jarret

I actually use it because I have two HDMI ports and am too lazy to get up and unplug my TV receiver or PS3 for my Wii U

        • Truthteller

That would only be a concerned for Nintendo’s prime audience – anyone under 11! Everyone else is likely to have their own TV!

          • Ace J

            and your still here…..

          • Falcoxcalibur

Yes, you just confirmed you don’t own a Wii U, therefore you are ignorant of it’s benefits, which are obvious and important to any Wii U user. Restrain from giving your opinion on a subject you obviously know nothing about.

          • Igor

We can read about the features of the videogame, watch videos of its gameplay, and magically we can play it even though if we don’t own one. So you’re the ignorant here.

          • NintendoNoob

So you’re like those people who think once they saw something they did it?

So if you saw an unboxing of a Ps4 on YouTube you’d claim you know all the features of the Ps4 and you can play it without even having one? What is your brain made of? Retard juice?

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

like me with 29 and my wife with 30?

          • NintendoNoob

So you’re saying that playing on the TV all the time everytime is better than having a portable screen able to carry around the house, take a shit with, and play in bed? You must really be a new level of retard

          • Truthteller

Of course. Do you plan on eating dinner while taking a shit too?

          • NintendoNoob

Nope, I don’t plan on doing what you do for a living

          • Shaise

GET FACTS RIGHT BEFORE YOU COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1.) Nintendo is not kiddie for the last time!!!!!!! Do some research
2.) Want to play on the TV, go ahead!!!!!! The gamepad can still be used to display additional information!!!
You type of people are really annoying me!

      • Suraj Alexander

I don’t have a TV in my room and living with younger siblings and nagging parents saying you can’t play violent games in front of the younger kids drove me to buy a wii u. I can sit in my room and play 18+ rated games in peace. It really depends on the person if a certain feature is useful.

        • Magnus Eriksson

Why didmt you just write ZombiU? Its the only 18+ rated game on Wii U.

Edit: oh, that one isnt Off-TV… But you can still stream porn on it :)

          • Superstick98

What? Did you completely forget about AC3, Splintercell Blacklist, Ninja Gaiden 3, etc?

          • Marcus Navarro

I guess he was referring to exclusives and not ports.

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

            :-)

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

            mass efect 3, cod…

      • Nintedward

I disagree, I play my Wiiu mostly with Off tv play , even though I have a 40” Sony LED 1080p tv…

        • napst0r

lol, better buy a real tv

          • Nathaniel Lopez

What constitutes as a “real tv” to you?

          • Deezy

to me, a real tv must be 45″ and above, and not those god damn CRT TVs either.

          • MetroidZero

At least lifting a CRT gives you a workout :P

          • Deezy

True dat. At least an AC unit is lighter than you would anticipated.

          • Stuart Thomas

Deezy, your an idiot. An absolute idiot.

          • Tim van Broekhoven

Nooooo this guy isn’t spoilt at all…

          • NintendoNoob

Bigger is almost never better, smaller the TV the more PPI there is making the lines and shapes smoother and less jagged than a 60” tv

          • Mitch Hall

CRTs are still the best choice for <480p games… assuming that your flatscreen doesn't have an unusually good upscaler.

          • Arthur Jarret

Pssh… I have a 3D beamer set to the entire height of my living room. Now THAT’s how big TV’s must be.

            Unfortunately, the PS4 and Xbox one don’t even support 4320p yet… don’t even mention 100Hz… it’s like they’re redoing a generation.

At least the Wii U is a leap forward compared to wii.

          • Nintedward

My TV is amazing. I live in a small apartment , any bigger would just look stupid, has less Pixels per inch and uses more power and is more expensive…

I couldn’t be any happier with my TV. I also have a 28” 720p tv in my bedroom!

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

some people buy big TVs for small apartment and that is incorrect.

          • Nintedward

this, just like a small tv is no good for a big apartment…

          • Magnus Eriksson

I have a big apartment with a fairly small TV. Works good for me. I never watch TV, use it only to play games or watch a movie.

          • napst0r

my tv is 46″ and my apartment is also not very big, still i’m thinking about a bigger one, since at the current status i already had to place the couch in the middle of the room to be in a reasonable distance to that tv. On a 40″ you must be sitting on the ground in front of it to be able to even remotely enjoy it, right?

      • AAAkabob

        1) Some people don’t live alone
        2) Some people enjoy using the TV for TV programming & the like
        3) Depending on how far you are from the TV & it’s size, the gamepad may be a better screen for gaming.

Off tv play can make a game more immersive. EX: ZombiU

        • e_rocket

and… if your wii u is close to the rest room, you can play in there…

          • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

            Boom

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

            like mehhh…

some (some) who say that don’t have a wii u. or have more than one tv.

        • Christopher Acuna

Or watch a movie or some tv while playing Next Gen non handheld games!

        • Adrian

I understand your arguments, but I argue that if you are multitasking while playing a game (i.e. watching t.v. while off-tv playing) then it is a pretty poor game if it doesn’t even deserve your full attention. Personally, I would only do this on a game that I have already beat, or a virtual console game.
Also, ZombiU was not Off tv play. ZombiU was an excellent use of the second screen.
Your first reason is pretty valid though. Sometimes you just have to take what you can get.

      • Mark

It depends on the person. If you multitask or if you have others in the room, Off-TV play is quite useful. However, if you alone and have big TV, Off-TV play isn’t that useful. I find the option to play off the TV was brilliant idea.

      • Marcus Navarro

What if the person doesn’t have a TV? :O

        • Deezy

          O.o

      • devmiles

agree, offscreen play..come on..buy a portable. we wanna see that sh*t in full res hd all the way

      • Nathaniel Lopez

Well, it’s nice to have the option and I can understand why. I’ve used it a couple times. That’s not the only thing the gamepad could be useful for, but unfortunately it seems to be the only feature devs are using it for…that and an off screen map.

      • THEMIGHTYDOOVDE

low res screen? Have you actually played on the gamepad?

      • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

It’s nice to not have to stop playing when my parents want the tv if I’m home from college though. Also it’s a lot cozier. AND since I have a room mate, it makes it so I can play after he goes to bed. Just pop in headphones and I’m set

      • Shota

i have big family. sometimes my mom watches tv sometimes my little brother or sisters. Im getting my own tv next month. But for now off-tv play is the best option.

      • Krzysztof

To be honest, I play most of the time using game pad, instead of TV. Even though, my TV isn’t occupied. There’s something really magical about it. Anyway, I think this is the only home console in history that doesn’t require TV or monitor to play games.

        • Andrew Chambers

Sometimes I just enjoy playing games without wearing my glasses.

      • Kevin Sepulveda

Sometimes I like to use it when I have to move to another room because someone wants to use that TV or if I want to play in my bedroom at night. Its just an option that makes my experience more enjoyable.

      • blindtiger

i didnt get it either… and then i got one.

(and i have 2 huge hdtvs in my living room)

      • Jon

I don’t get why you are so affected when they say that it can do off tv play. It is there as an option for people, Just because it has it, doesn’t mean you need to use it. They understand that people will want to play primarily on the big screen however there are times when one might want to play and that TV is not available so you can use the game pad if you wish. small screen is better than no screen. If you don’t believe that then you can just simply wait until the bigger TV is available.

      • Clairvius

I like the off screen sometimes it comes in handy i live only with my wife in our home (no kids yet) and where mainly living room based people i have a 72″ 3D tv in there and only have a 52″ LCD in my bed room so you know all my systems are on the 72″ but sometimes it’s nice to lay in my bedroom before i crash and play some VC games or a few levels on Rayman and there’s no way im moving the Wii U just for that so i play off tv its a nice feature it has a acceptable sized screen and has buttons witch is the main reason why i refuse to play any decent games on my ipad i have fat hands and they block most of the screen and touch buttons suck butt holes soo yea it might not matter but off tv play has my approval lol

      • Adrian

I agree Igor. I think off tv play is only good when
        1. It doesn’t compromise any features you would be getting otherwise. And
        2. It does not lower the resolution of the game.
(so it’s great for ports and virtual console)
–Aside from that, I would prefer if console games did what they originally did, give you an awesome experience playing on your television.

      • SkyStormXD

You can switch off you TV, go the bed and play, or to the rest room/bathroom, or switch the TV for power saving, and its not a tiny low res screen. Comparatively, the big 6-inch screen is better than some smartphones.

      • Twist

I can play while I poop. End of discussion.

      • Arthur Jarret

        Animal crossing.
Small arcade-ish eshop games during commercials
Playing a bit in bed before sleep.
SOME people I know still have an SD TV or even a tube… gamepad has much better screen quality for them

      • Saul Strange

I kind of agree. It’s a handy feature for when your TV is being used by others, that’s cool. But the screen is too small to play a lot of games as they’re not built or optimised for such a small display, things can be hard to see sometimes. Personally, I can take it or leave it.

However, Mario Wii U worked very well on the gamepad, probably due to it’s simple graphical style.

      • Igor

You guys should calm down. Fanboyism has a price, not being able to open your eyes. First, If you think this or that game looks good on the gamepad screen, great for you, but it doesn’t change the fact that the screen has a terrible resolution.
Saying that you have 30 siblings, 10 parents and 50 dogs, and you need to be able to play on the screen because you have to share the tv, no matter where the hell you live, you can get a 1080p res TV for not much.
Let me quote this not so smart person, Christopher Accuna:
“Or watch a movie or some tv while playing Next Gen non handheld games!”
Ain’t you Nintenboys the ones to always say, fun first, then graphics or whatever shit you can think about? Then if it’s “fun”, what’s the difference between Wii U (he’s not a next gen console for your information, stop eating nintendo bullshit) and a handheld if not the graphics?
You all need to sort out the tons of stupidity that seems to navigate through your minds.
But after saying it all, then I come to my senses here… they ain’t gonna listen a thing.
If somebody tells ya something, don’t go bitching around like the sissy pussy you are. Man up bitches.

    • FlashFan207

Ummmmmmm… May I please just copy your post exactly and put it down as my own?

    • Nintedward

Yep! That would make the game better for sure. If they could get a more stable Framerate and some anti-aliasing for a Wiiu version also, that would be nice.

Some nice gamepad features could definitely be thought of.. maybe you could have the I-fruit on your gamepad as well as the in game internet amongst other things. A map with the sat nav on the gamepad would work like a sat nav does in real life.

GTA V is immense on 360, but I keep wishing I was playing it with Off tv play on the gamepad…. :(

When you get into a plane and fly around in GTAV the scale of the world almost matches real life lol, it’s ridiculous.

      • Re4wii2008

yeah but I wounder if the Wii U can run it fine without the 8 gig install, but if it did need it I’m sure the Wii U’s Performance would be amazing like we saw in Most Wanted U!

        • Nintedward

They could put the 8GB install on the Wiiu. Just put a Warning on the front or back of the box, that an install is mandatory and an external HDD maybe needed. There is 4/8GB xbox 360′s out there also,

          • Dan Golan

actually just install it on your 16gb microsd :D
with a card reader on usb of course :) no need for extra-expensive hdd

          • Christopher Acuna

external hdd is no where near extra expensive.

          • Gotallofthem

1 T from amazon would cost you bout 60 bucks, not that expensive

          • Andrew Chambers

I wouldn’t advise doing that. If you only need a cheap and small solution, Staples has 16GB flash drives for $9.

I believe the one I got at Walmart was 32GB for $20.

          • Gotallofthem

Got a 16gig flash for 10 bucks from amazon

          • teknik1200

Have you priced HDDs to microSD cards? $50.00 for 500GB is hardly extra expensive. I’d think most people these days have an extra USB harddrive sitting around someplace.

          • makkan

but they aren’t so expensive anymore at least my 500 gb wasn’t it only cost 500 Swedish crowns which is about 78$

          • teknik1200

it would be nice if we could install games from disk. estore is the only way to play off a HDD.

        • Theiz Zzee

I am sure it can run it fine without the install but, don’t forget some PS3′s and Xbox 360′s have less than 20 gigs. It may lack textures though. There is nothing stopping an install on the Wii U. For basic users a 32 gig SD card would be fine.

          • Andrew Chambers

Is it even possible to install to the SD card? I’m pretty sure that’s only for the Wii mode. When I go to data management I can only access my HDD and USB drive.

          • ConCity Soldier

You can always get a USB SD Card Reader with a SD Card inside of it. The Wii U reads it as a HDD. :)

          • Andrew Chambers

I don’t see why you would though, the read speeds on SD cards is slow. Any decent flash drive will do 30-40 MB/s.

          • Theiz Zzee

Yeah I see that’s the case now.

          • teknik1200

Can you install a game outside of buying it on the eshop? I’ve not seen an option to do so.

          • Andrew Chambers

            Not yet.

          • Arthur Jarret

Actually – it can’t run fine without an install… it loads data from disc and harddrive simultaneously – clearly shown by the Xbox version when it installs completely to the hard drive; textures are missing and a lot of pop-up shows. Basically, the way the game dynamically loads textures and objects gets wonky.

            So an install is needed.

If it came to Wii U, this would also meanthere will be no digital version (likely no PC version on digital storefronts either for the same reasons – despite higher caching speeds, as they don’t generally do a lot of optimizing for PC)

          • Zombie_Andrew

The Wii U is designed to be disc only. Thus its super fast disc etc. It’d run fine

          • Arthur Jarret

The xbox version doesn’t run fine when fully installed to the hard disc. The digital playstation version is not even as good as the version on disc:

            Source: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-why-we-cant-recommend-GTA5-PSN

The wii U disc drive is NOT quicker than these harddisks. It’s not so much about speed – it’s about streaming data from two seperate data sources…

you know…. like I already explained in the email you answered.

A wii U version WILL require an install, just like both other versions.

          • Theiz Zzee

It can run fine without out one. Maybe minus the bells and whistles a bit but. How can you give an example of trying to prove something without showing the alternative??? I guess you don’t have the option in this case but still lol. It can install too so it’s not a real issue. There would be nothing preventing a digital version of PC or Wii U. They tailor games to each system so that it functions okay albeit not always optimally so it’s not an issue.

          • Arthur Jarret

I fail to see any real argument here – whilst my claim, being that GTA needs two sources to simultaneously load data, is well documented at various tech sites already. This is simply how their engine works, which only a full remake could change.
As I already stated below, with links…

Harddrives are faster than any optical media, and even the PSN release suffers from performance issues compared to the disc version (but not as much as Xbox fully installed).

As this is all proven already, as well as explained by rockstar – and no argument would change these facts – making a mandatory wii U install a no brainer if it came to wii U.

It’s a brilliant method to circumvent the bottleneck of reading data, though – you’ve got to hand it to rockstar – they know how to push boundries. I wouldn’t mind getting a 8GB 10 buck usb drive to play it on wii U.

          • Tails the Foxhound

PS3 discs are BluRay, they’re 25/50GB (single layer/dual layer) just like Wii U.

          • Theiz Zzee

Close enough. BluRay without the name lol.

        • LordiMcKill

The 8gb install is only a necessary thing for the X360 due to the limited space on the disc. The PS3 doesn’t have this issue due to the large sized disc’s and that would be the same for the Wii U as well due to its disc size being on par with a PS3.

          • LonDonE247

no the PS3 version does require you install a mandatory 8gb to the hard drive, i have it on PS3, trust me, you have to do the install or it wont work, it does it automatically the first time you boot up the game, so please don’t spread misinformation, if u made a honest mistake fair enough!

          • tomtank91

99% of PS3 games require a mandatory install. Plus the size of the install for the PS3 of GTA V is 17.2GB

          • devmiles

not true + not true.. gta5 is 8426mb installation

          • Ace J

no its not its 8486 MB on the ps3. iam installing it right now lol. which makes it 8GB

          • Arthur Jarret

PS3 has a mandatory install too, it’s because the game streams data from both HD and disc simultaneously to load the required textures on time. Proven by pop-in and missing textures when people install the disc on the xbox. The game can’t handle loading both from the same source.

It’s very smart use of current tech, actually…

        • Mohammad Badir

considering the fact that the WiiU discs have up to 50GBs of space, and the fact that the WiiU disc reader is faster than the PS3′s, I’m sure they wouldn’t even need a mandatory install.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Wii U Optical discs are 25 GB only, not 50. Far as I know, they haven’t had a dual layer disc for any game.

        • YogiGRB

I think i read somewhere (a while ago) they said that they had it up and running on WiiU.

      • RyuNoHadouken

if you have a white wii u then you’d be screwed on the mandatory install…hell, same with a black one for that matter

        • Stephen

I would just like to say that so far the other consoles are suffering from this mandatory install bad popup and frame rates so avoiding installation is the way to go for this game, the wiiu optical drive reads data at a faster rate than those consoles at 22m/sec and wouldnt need a 2 disc box just one, I would go as far as saying a wii u version wouldnt need to be installed or at least very little would need to be as the media type is more than capale of streaming the data to RAM, RAM that is more than double the 360 and ps3.

          • RyuNoHadouken

my homies PS3 version isnt suffering at all..and its only one disc…the reason for installs on large games are so that the action runs seamlessly instead of lengthy load screens…maybe xbox version is suffering…but so far, PS3 is running it like a champ

          • Stephen

Yes the disc version of GTA 5 is fine but the PSN download version is suffering from the same issue as the Xbox 360 full install…

            http://www.maxconsole.com/news/PLAYSTATION%203/GTA-V-PSN-version-has-same-problems-as-360–dual-disc-installed–version-RKLS00000023377.html

          • Arthur Jarret

Dang, I didn’t hear this… makes sense though, once you know how the game loads it’s data quick enough for the consoles to keep up.

Luckily I’m a collector and always get disc versions when available!

          • Arthur Jarret

Only Xbox version suffers, and only if you install the play disc AND the mandatory install disc. The data needs to come from two directions to work, so putting it on the same harddisk creates a bottleneck for the data stream.

A solution is already present to put the mandatory install on the main drive – and the optional play disc install on an external USB drive.

            (Source: Digital foundry)

Edit: saw your reply to someone else about the digital editions… nevermind!

Just paint it red, problem solved.

        • Nintedward

Indeed I do good sir! Amazing news! I always Wished for this exact thing to happen to Wii sports ;)

      • Manon DeFlorette

        EA could’ve influenced Rockstar somehow.

    • Truthteller

“Off TV” play? WHo needs that, and how would that make the game better to play?

      • Ace J

        ask Sony why bitch

      • Marcus Navarro

I hope your Vita gets water damage from your tears and crumbs from your paint chips in the crevices, you narrow-minded Neanderthal.

      • david jarman

Its not a need its a luxury. Which a lot of us love.

      • Marcus Navarro

That’s pretty much a moot point because no one NEEDS the bells-and-whistles. They’d like to have them. And having them is making people happy. Kindly fuck off.

      • Falcoxcalibur

Again, if you do not own a Wii U, it is impossible for your limited mind to imagine and understand. Shut up and get out.

        • greengecko007

Responding to obvious trolls with poor rhetoric and reasoning gives the trolls their lulz, and entices them to come back.

In other words, you are part of the problem.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

            True story.

      • Jon

you must have a closed mind. Off TV play is simply for someone who wants to play but can due to the TV in use, so they have another option if they wish. You don’t have to use it but then you won’t get to play then, you’ll have to wait which I know most people don’t like doing for the simple reason that we are human. But…. I don’t know if this is a concept you’ll every understand

    • Ducked
      • Daniel Gonzalez

        Good luck.

        • Ducked

          I’m willing to try anything

  • https://twitter.com/Onyzora Ony

I said yes but actually I don’t really know. It seems to be a great game (although I don’t like that serie), but Rockstar is a pretty awful company (did you heard about the recent polemy concerning game test & scores ?), and we all know they will NOT port their game to that “old lame unpowerfull piece of crap” that is the Wii U according to so many big dudes of the “industry”.

Yes I’m a bit angry about that, but if they REALLY wants to supports Wii U, I’ll gladely buy it on Wii U (for now I’m waiting the PC version).

  • Clel

    Well IGN says it’s a masterpiece, so… yea… naaaaaah

EDIT: Yo, chill out people. I wasn’t going to get the game whatever anyone said, I was just poking fun at IGN.

    • KosmoCrisis

IGN said it was the best game ever made.

      • Nintenjoe82

I reckon it might be (within its pretty broad genre) but IGN dish out 10s like gaming’s going out of fashion these days.

        • AAAkabob

          Not really.

          • Marcus Navarro

            Yes, really.

          • AAAkabob

            Give us proof.

          • Marcus Navarro

In this console generation alone, IGN gave 10s to 8 different games. GTA4, GTA5, Super Mario Galaxy 2, The Last of Us, MGS4, Uncharted 3, Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, and LoZ: Skyward Sword. No one has put out more 10s in a SINGLE console generation. Not even close.

Edit: There’s only 3 games that MAYBE deserve the 10 score on that list: Super Mario Galaxy, MGS4, and Skyward Sword.

          • AAAkabob

Keep in mind this console generation is going on about 60% longer than most, Also, most of those games are late in the console generation, after 7-8 years of optimization one expects amazing games.

          • Marcus Navarro

MGS4(2008)? Super Mario Galaxy 2(2010 NA)? Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare(Oct. 2010)? Skyward Sword(Nov. 2011 NA)? GTA4(Dec. 2008 NA)? No. Such a weak counter-argument. My point still stands.

          • Truthteller

Mario Galaxy is no 10. GTA IV is architectural masterpiece and the way they designed it, it lasted five years. Only yesterday did I finally get tired of it. I will play V in a minute.

          • Ace J

here you go again talking about how gta is the greatest game in the world when its really not.

          • Marcus Navarro

Ask IGN about that 10 they gave Super Mario Galaxy 2 a 10, not me. I don’t think it’s a 10 either, but calm your tits, son. This is about how IGN gave it a 10, not me.

Edit: You must be the biggest GTA fanboy of all time. There are many games that many people are still playing to this day. Hell, Phantasy Star Online(Dreamcast) has its own privately-owned server! And before you say anything about GTA being THE architectual masterpiece, allow me to point you in the directions of Minecraft, Doom, Quake, and Counter Strike.

          • blindtiger

it does?!? i want my dreamcast back!

          • Jon

And what takes you 5 years to get tired of, only takes some people a few days to couple of weeks to get tired of.

        • Wayne Beck

IGN have only ever given out 50 or so 10s. About 10 of them are for Zelda. Unfortunately, they gave GTA IV a 10 despite the fact that it is more like a 7. But even they have said that was a mistake.

        • Truthteller

          Wonderful 101 did not get a 10…

          • Luna Moonfang

            Well, huh…excuse me, please.
Could you inform me what does this have to do with anything those guys commented?

          • Ace J

nobody even mentioned that game. stop trolling lol

          • Marcus Navarro

            And that’s relevant how?

          • david jarman

I still think it should have gotten a better score. It’s not broken it just has a steep learning curve just like the days when hardcore meant something completely different.
It’s funny cause I have no problems making whips and the hammer is a little tricky, but that adds to the intensity.

          • Jon

lol, what? where did this come from, he never said anything about that game….

          • Nintenjoe82

Yeah but they gave WW a 9.8 and WW had plenty of flaws in 2003. IGN gave more 9+ scores away in the last 12 months than any year I can remember. NSMBU, CoD:BO2 and Halo4 all got over 9 and all 3 were identikit sequels.

      • Nintedward

They said it was” one of the very best” which is probably fair. But i’m far into it and I can think of a good 10+ games that I prefer, that’s my taste though.

    • Marcus Navarro

IGN can fuck a cactus as far as I’m concerned.

  • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

I said no only because GTA has never appealed to me. I would not buy it here. I would not buy it there. I would not buy it anywhere.

If you dont catch my green eggs and ham reference I swear to God…

EDIT: Soooo… I normally don’t care about downvotes, but I think people downvoted me because I said GTA never appealed to me XD I can’t have an opinion?

Would you buy it with a Bro?

I wish this was coming out for WiiU I would buy it ASAP, plus the gamepad features would make it so much better than any version and to have the map on the gamepad omfg :(

  • Seth S. Scott

i would buy it for Wii U if it came out on launch day. Not if it came out a year later as a Directors Cut or something. I love my Wii U but yeah, it probably wouldn’t have the online part either so that would be annoying.

  • Derk

I’m sure the game is fun, but I don’t buy GTA games anymore…

    This game breeds psychos.

    • Saleh Sbeiti

      -_-

    • Marcus Navarro

      You’re an idiot.

    • AAAkabob

Discovery video on GTA’s effects on the mind

      • Derk
        • AAAkabob

Why is the kid playing GTA IV? Why was the kid able to access a gun? Sounds like shitty parenting to me.

          • Marcus Navarro

            THANK YOU!!!!!!

          • Derk

Hypothetical questions wont bring his granny back…

          • AAAkabob

What? None of those are ifs. They are straight flaws in the parenting of the kid.

          • Derk

It doesn’t matter if his parents were good parents or bad parents… Parents cannot monitor their children 24-7…

The cops didn’t blame the parents (they weren’t mentioned) and the cops didn’t blame the child… they blamed the game… How can you speculate? You don’t actually know how good of parents they were…

Even IGN’s youtube review said that the torture scene was difficult to watch and you couldn’t skip through it.

          • Marcus Navarro

For that kid to be playing an M-rated game should hint at irresponsibility on the parents’ parts

          • Derk

What is irresponsible is releasing a game like this at all… I think you guys are hung up on details…. Here is the bottom line…

Any game that makes a child want to shoot up his granny should be discontinued…

          • Marcus Navarro

You just graduated to “fucking idiot” for that one.

It’s the parents’ decisions to give their kid a game targeting adults, who can handle the graphic nature of the game. The kid’s malleable, and no one but the parents can get him the game.

          • Derk

Ok…. What if the kid stole the copy of the game from a store/parents and was playing it in secret????

            Who’s fault is it then?
Now that you cannot blame the parents, the only fault left is the game…

You guys are blaming the parents and they weren’t even mentioned in the article!! Its likely to assume they weren’t even home.

          • Marcus Navarro

Now who’s asking the “what if” questions?! He didn’t! his parents/granny bought him the game!

Edit: Also, that’s an inarguable point because IT DIDNT FUCKING HAPPEN!

          • Derk

The article doesn’t say where he got the game …

You cannot keep your teenager away from cigarettes or alcohol and you definitely cannot keep them away from a video game…

Kids are going to get their hands on games like this and its going to be bad if they keep making these games for psychos. I guess it wont matter until it happens to your children.

          • Nathaniel Lopez

Why would the kid have to steal and why would he be stealing in the first place. Seems to me that in that scenario the kid was already not being thought he difference between right and wrong.

          • Marcus Navarro

…so everyone above the age of 17 is a psycho?
Maybe someone’s had a rough day and they just wanna punch everybody in the face, steal cars, crash helicoptors into billboards, gun down a gathering, and shoot the cop that stopped-and-frisked him/her. Would you really want that?

The New Orleans Sniper never played a video game and GTA players don’t emulate that behavior if they know better.

          • AAAkabob

            Just stfu please

          • Nathaniel Lopez

Well, if that’s the case, why is the child playing the game in the first place and who allowed him AND gave him access to the game.

          • AAAkabob

He found a gun, and he played a rated M game. I will repeat: SOUNDS LIKE SHITTY PARENTING TO ME.

          • Nathaniel Lopez

Yes, they can’t monitor they’re child 24-7, but they can know what he’s is doing, where he is going, and who he’s with. Also, if he’s gaming in his house then the whole monitoring question goes straight out the window because they can watch him while playing the game and decided whether the material is indeed too mature for the boy.

          • Marcus Navarro

You’re an idiot. “What if” questions isn’t what he’s asking. He’s taking into account the factors that led to this diatribe. The M rating exists for a reason.

          • Derk

            Sure he is….

What if the dad had kept his gun out of the house?
What if his parents kept the game away from him?

All of these are irrelevant… What is relevant is that the kid gathered violent behavior from the video game, was impressed, and wanted to do the same thing (monkey see monkey do)…WHERE ELSE DO LITTLE KIDS LEARN THINGS LIKE THIS???

Now his grandma is dead bc he wanted to see her head explode. I bet it felt just like another “GTA mission” for him.

          • AAAkabob

Where else?? Movies, TV shows, PARENTS, FRIENDS. The grandma is dead which is sad, but the fact that the cops blame video games and video games only is ignorant.

          • Marcus Navarro

He shouldn’t have had an M-rated game. period. It’s all because of the stupid fucking stigmata that gaming is for kids and adult-children or adults capturing childhood. It’s not “what if”s. It’s taking factors and consequences into account. The child-no- no child is mature enough to handle such material.

Are you gonna say that Texas Chainsaw Massacre breeds serial killers? Taken breeds human trafficers? C’mon, son!

          • Derk

GTA rewards the behavior and promotes it as being “cool”.

          • david jarman

            Normally I agree with you.
But certain games do encourage people to do things that people normally wouldn’t do. It doesn’t matter if you’re a child or an adult, but you have to wonder what type of people do these types of games appeal to and why they are appealing. If your answer is because you can do things that you normally wouldn’t do in real life. You have to question why would you even want to simulate something you said you would never do in real life.
I would rather play a game where I stand for something or fight with valor then degrade women, or torture people. This game put the nail on the coffin for me and this type of entertainment. It’s going back to the store.
I rather be the Good who fights Evil in a game.
And that’s my home slice opinion for reals!
            Peace outside!

          • Marcus Navarro

“You have to question why would you even want to simulate something you said you would never do in real life.” <—- You see this statement? Take a good, hard look at it. Let this set the precedent for why I love video games, anime, and human creativity.

I don't play simulations that aren't racing games. I don't exactly appreciate the gritty, emotional stuff. I have enough of that in real life. GTA isn't even in my Top 20 favorite game franchises. Don't get me wrong though: I enjoy it. I just don't have as much fum with it as I would other games.
Games Do encourage humans to do things they wouldn't do. Some games improve brain circuitry. Others improve creativity. Even more can be used to relieve stress or vent. The latter of those 3 should not be played by a malleable person that can't exactly handle the content.

          • david jarman

Well, I appreciate your reply and do agree with it.

Thank you for not calling me idiot like the other guy.

          • Marcus Navarro

I’m not gonna call you an idiot for disagreeing with my opinion, dude! :D

    • Deezy

I agree and disagree with you. I agree because even though there is an ESRB rating, people think that its not for people under 18 cause they are immature but ironically there are adults that are way more immature than kids because they CAN do whatever they want.

Then I disagreed with your comment because there are people that knows the difference between right and wrong, moral and immoral, real and fiction but as I mentioned in the last paragraph, there are adults that are immature than kids because they can do whatever they want to.

    • Mitch Hall

It’s no more likely to “breed psychos” than violent movies and mature shows like Breaking Bad.

Kids may be impressionable, but the rating’s there for a reason.

  • LeoVutton Ballard

Yes, I been a nintendo fan forever, this is a bad mistake and a bad business move, now what us hardcore wiiu owners supposed to do?? Ok we got Watch Dogs comin soon I will be gettin it, but we were merely promised it at the beginnin, smh

    • Wayne Beck

      Hardcore does not mean 18+.

The Wonderful 101 is easily the most Hardcore game on the market right now and it’s practically a Saturday Morning Cartoon.

      • LeoVutton Ballard

man, i dont tgink u understand…yesterday i broke the rules of a true NES fan and went and bought a xbox 360 jus to play GTA5… now that sucks.. when i get bored of gta5 ima sell my 360 for little of nothin, all of that coulda been avoided if they jus did whqt they promised, and im not the only one.. ans w101 is a cool game, but cant compare to gta

        • Wayne Beck

You do know that Nintendo is not the one who decided GTA wasn’t coming to the Wii U right?

  • babulibaba

    only for the online multiplayer

  • Kaihaku

    I would not.

  • Marcus Navarro

The question should’ve been presented as, “For those interested in GTA5,…” The people not into the game would say, “No,” no matter what platform it’s on.

With that being said, GTA5 on the Wii U would be awesome!…unless Rockstar gimps the port…

  • Nintenjoe82

I’d buy it immediately if it was a decent port and had reasonable levels of gamepad integration like a map and off-tv play.

More should be done to stop kids playing it but the additional controversy would just make it more desirable to would-be delinquents.

    • Shota

you dont have to copy me what i wanted on the game

      • Nintenjoe82

Ok in that case I want motion controlled steering, the camera to put my face on wanted posters and Mario costumes

        • Shota

hahahaha mario costume is good one. Wanted poster of mario. XD now that would be awesome!

  • Starfoxguy

No because Nintendo would make Rockstar remove things like prostitution and drugs.
Oh I almost forgot about nudity.

    • Shaise

Umm….. Have you heard of conkers bad fur day, VERY MATURE, back in 2001 in came on the Nintendo 64, it was exclusive, Nintendo didn’t touch it, after Rare was sold to microsoft, they put conkers bad fur day on the Xbox, & Microsoft told Rare to censor the things!!! So no Nintendo wouldn’t make Rockstar do anything, they’d be alright with it

      • Starfoxguy

True but Nintendo was under a different CEO back then.

        • Shaise

Well now we have Bayonetta 2, Nintendo actually paid them to make this game!

  • Entropyguy

No, because despite owning other systems I’ve never purchased a GTA game on them either.

    • Shaise

I think this poll is for GTA/ Nintendo fans

  • Deezy

I am leaning more to the no side. Honestly, Rockstar on a Nintendo product? I remember Chinatown Wars for the DS but that look weak to me. All i am saying is that it will feel akward.

    • Shaise

How? Nintendo product, Nintendo’s has a mature history, Conkers bad fur day on the N64, Sony & Microsoft hasnt even dared make a game like that yet, when that game came to Xbox ,Microsoft had it censored. Even today, Nintendo has Bayonetta 2 for Wii U. Theres nothing wrong with Rockstar on a Nintendo product

      • Deezy

Yea I definitely didn’t know about that especially Conkers.

        • jay

          Apparently you don’t know much.

          • Deezy

yeah… was a nintendo fan at 5, moved to sony at 12 so yeah i really dont know alot about nintendo anymore. I am still planning to get the Wii U just to get that Wii U zelda game that is coming out in 2014 but only after i get a PS4.

As a matter of fact, I don’t know anything about current gen games, just a PS2 and a few nintendo 64 titles

      • geoffksu

        Watch_dogs?

That’s coming in November on Wii U…

        • Deezy

I understand watch dogs but what I really am saying is that this is GTA. we all know the history in that game. The only game that came close to the style of GTA was Scarface: The World Is Yours. but other open world games like True Crime, Watch Dogs, even Saint’s Row, they don’t have that insanity in their games. Those games gives us a craving differently from GTA’s crave addiction

          • Marcus Navarro

            Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem

And yes, Saint’s Row has insanity in it. And in high supply.

          • Deezy

OK, but only for eternal darkness, are there that many copies purchased as a GTA game like San Andreas or GTA IV? Also I am assuming that eternal is pretty much a Horror Genre and not many people are fans or was fans of a horror game.

          • Marcus Navarro

Sales don’t matter for the point you’re trying to make. Eternal Darkness has insanity in it. So does Saint’s Row. End of story.

    • Marcus Navarro

It really doesn’t matter. Nintendo products appeal to ALL ages.

    • Nintenjoe82

      Manhunt 2

      • Deezy

        ok I have been persuaded

        • jay

gta is made by a THIRD PARTY, meaning it is NOT made by neither sony/microsoft. the ps3 isn’t any more “mature” than the wii or a gameboy.

    • jay

Chinatown wars got rave reviews and “better than gta IV” was a common quote on review sites.

  • AAAkabob

I would, the humor is crude to a point of disgusting many. But I’m not bothered because it’s a video game and doesn’t reflect my interests anymore than playing BF4

  • Josh Samson

whoever voted no and maybe really need to get off of this site.

  • Rick Valenta

Just seeing the mockup gave me goose bumps… I love First Party IP but I also like my Big Boy AAA titles too….. If you bring it we will buy it!!

  • Sdudyoy

No, but not because I don’t like it I just don’t play games with Nudity in it.

    • Stoenk

You must be a fun person

      • beerkin

Or a well behaved 11 yr old.

        • 00EpicGamer00

          I’m 16 and I don’t like nudity. Problem?

          • beerkin

That’s not normal. by the time I was ur age I was banging chicks. oh well. congrats on being so pure. vampires must hate being around you.

          • 00EpicGamer00

Well, aren’t you just an immature child, hmm? Thank the lord that I’m not like the “normal” people.
Also…I highly doubt you’re over 16. Your spelling and grammar tell me that you’re BELOW 16.
What does vampires have to do with reality? Oh, and uhh, if you read the Cirque Du Freak books, you’d see that some vampires (Mr. Crepsley and some other vampires that are on Mr. Crepsley’s side in the book) likes PURE people. Brush up on your knowledge kid, before you say something that’ll embarrass you.

          • beerkin

Wow you are a complete dork. who gives a rats ass about grammar on a videogame site. My phone keypad blows and I don t feel the need to waste the time revising and editing my post. so there is one book out of countless vampire stories books and movies that has a couple of pussy ass pure vampires. what’s your point? njcfurikdesw, pgftrkixd! you really do need to get laid. II’m sure the fact that you are scared of women comes from the fact that you are either gay and haven’t accepted it yet or you are a physically hideous person that no girl would ever screw. either way coming at me like that because my post aren’t gramatically correct shows how much of a social reject you are. boobs boobs boobs.

          • 00EpicGamer00

Ha ha! You are hilarious :D….and it looks like you haven’t hit puberty yet.

First off, I (and lots of other people on here) do give a *ahem* “rats ass” about grammar on a video game site. Negleting to spell or punctuate correctly is just plain ignorant. I can understand a FEW mistakes here and there, but not like….in every sentence.

Oh, so you probably think vampires can change into bats, right? Well, you’re wrong. Oh, and is the vampires YOU like from those “gay” (the term is actually known as “homosexual.” But of course, rejects like you wouldn’t know that) books and movies, Twilight? Twilight made a DISGRASE to vampires.

I like the fact that you think I’m a “guy”, when in reality, I am not. But, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. With stupidity, comes sexism. I’m not looking for a relationship at this time, but thank you for your concern about MY life.

            Isn’t it your bedtime?

      • Sdudyoy

Nah, I’m pretty boring but yeah I just don’t think that kind of stuff belongs in video games.

  • Jack5221

I already own it on my PS3, and I freaking love it! Wii U hardware is superior to PS3 / Xbox 360 hardware so there is no reason why GTA 5 cant run it on Wii U.

  • beerkin

Hel yes!! can you imagine cutting up coke on the gamepad and simulating snorting a line. or a pov striptease where if you move the gamepad around it shows a close up view of knockers or crotch. you could do all kinds of debaucherous things with the gamepad.

  • Re4wii2008

I have a rule about game systems and that is when I get 40 games for a system I will not buy anymore and since I have 40 games for the PS3 I Will not get this unless it came to Wii U!

    • AAAkabob

      That’s a strange rule. What’s the reasoning?

      • Shaise

Maybe he wants to save room on his shelf

        • Yen

Maybe he builds a shelf that fits exactly 40 games for each system he owns…

          • Shaise

            Ya!

      • Re4wii2008

I am now 19 and I don’t want to spend more than 5 hours a day on games unless it’s great Like some of the previous games I’ve played Fallout 3, GTA IV, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. and more! I Feel if I own more than 40 games a system most of them would collect dust anyway! The only way I would break that rule is if I brought a game digitally which the PS3 and Wii U both offer!

        • AAAkabob

I have a suggestion for a new rule! Don’t buy a new game until you beat all the ones you have lol

          • Re4wii2008

That’s true too lol! especially if your hurting for money at times!

          • AAAkabob

I’m not hurting for money, but it’s a good way not to waste it. I’m currently resisting buying W101 until I finish Rayman and Splinter Cell

          • Re4wii2008

Thanks great to hear your supporting Third Party Wii U games right? or did you get those on different systems?

          • AAAkabob

Yep, downloaded them both on Wii U, so more cash straight to Ubisoft and Nintendo

          • Jon

i have a hard time with that one….. my steam list is horrible for this lol

        • jay

40 games is a high threshold if you don’t wanna waste time.

          • Re4wii2008

That’s not the way I really see it when you consider a console generation is about 5-6 years long I usually get about 5 – 7 games on a console a year and I’m usually able to beat them in a few month depending on the game with out spending all day playing so in an generation I find 40 Games to be the ideal amount but that’s just me!

  • Shaise

If this game is selling so well currently, then whos to say it wont on Wii U, on Wii U it might sell on the majority of install base

  • Rugmouse

There are some things I truly admire about the GTA franchise – the storytelling is actually quite good, and they always do a great job with casting voice actors for the roles. And the level of detail in the cities and the worlds they replicate (key word there – both positive and negative in my view)…pretty unreal if you ask me – exploring was always the most enjoyable aspect of the games.

What bothers me are the combat mechanics. Playing through GTA IV became monotonous far too quickly. It has been a long time since I’ve played it, but the shooting mechanics always felt clunky and unrealistic to me. Running over people with cars was by far my weapon of choice.

I’ve seen absolutely zero in terms of game play, as the actual game play mechanics were such a turn off, but perhaps GTA V remedied some of those concerns. But if they did offer a Wii U release, I would likely look into the game a bit more than the not at all that I’ve currently done.

    I’m a maybe

    • Marcus Navarro

The character presentation as true protagonists instead of antiheroes kinda turned me off.

      • Rugmouse

That’s actually a great point…they should really watch a little Breaking Bad if they want to know how to truly present a character type that would be amazing for this series.

        • Marcus Navarro

But they’ve presented their characters flawlessly in the past…sometimes. CJ in San Andreas was the best one imo. There are few antiheroes in games that I can think of right now that can match that quality.

  • Baum 「ツリー」

I don’t need a game as sexist and as full of (senseless) violence as GTA’s nowadays…

I like the open-world concept, but I hate the fact that you still have to play the exact character Rockstar “forces” us to play.
In that way Watch_Dogs seems to do the whole “GTA thing” better than GTA itself: You’ve got your open-world city, you’ve got a character, who can act as aggressive or as careful as YOU want him to be and you actually get to do things in your own way. Something, that’s essential to the whole sandbox concept …

    • AAAkabob

I don’t feel it’s essential. If they want to tell a certain story, it’s necessary for the key points to play out as they should. However I respect your preferences.

  • DeedsGaming .

Of course I would, supporting Nintendo and Rockstar – two great companies – for a great game. Why would you say no.

  • Rodger Jamjet

Absolutely! The Wii U needs more quality 3rd software and with all the gamepads mic and camera who knows what the R* guys could come up with. I’d buy it for sure and just as long as it wasn’t a bad port.

  • Marcus Navarro

For those of you objecting the idea of GTA on the Wii U, lemme give you a short list of violent video games released on Nintendo consoles to date:
    Resident Evil 4(GC, Wii)
    Conkers’ Bad Fur Day(N64)
    Manhunt 2(Wii)
    Driver: Parallel Lines(Wii)
House of the Dead 2 and 3 Returns(Wii)
No More Heroes 1 and 2(Wii)
    OneChanbara(Wii)
    Resident Evil Archives(Wii)
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes(GC)
    Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem(GC)
    Carmageddon 64(N64)
    Doom 64(N64)
    Quake 64(N64)
    Quake 2(N64)
    The Turok games(N64)
    Perfect Dark(N64)

    That’s the short list, anyway.

    • AAAkabob

      WHERE IS GOLDENEYE!!!=d

      • Marcus Navarro

        I said it’s a short list, damnit!

    • that guy

i still think that mad world is the most violent game ever made.

      • david jarman

Damn, I didn’t see that you already mentioned it.

    • david jarman

How can you forget about mad world?!?!?!?!

    • Andreas Sunde

      How about Mario? Zelda? Kirby?

  • Decker Shado

For the longest time I’ve been saying that I would either get this game for Wii U, or PC. Preferably on Wii U, if they do good/smart things with the gamepad. Otherwise, PC for graphics. Ahh, the incredible power of my 2 year old mid range PC. Still better than “next gen!”

  • Guest

I absolutely love my Wii U, but why would I buy a cross platform game for it when I can get trophies playing the same game on my PS3?

So far the gamepad/off TV play has not compelling enough for me to buy anything other than exclusives for the system. Besides, who would want to use the gamepad for the long play sessions demanded by GTAV? It gets too heavy and uncomfortable after extended play – although I’m sure if GTAV ever did come to the system, it’d support the pro controller (which is awesome).

  • BIG Franky

YUP… i have a PS3 as well as a Wii U and would pay full price for the Wii U version….. other than that, I’ll wait on it and buy it used in a few months for the PS3….. i generally try to support Nintendo consoles when possible for multiplatform titles.
and for what its worth, gamepad features arent even necessary for me…. I’ll just play it using a pro controller. i just think its better for the industry as a whole when a title that could easily port over to the Wii U is made available for it.

    • Nathaniel Lopez

      That’s very sound reasoning.

  • Adam Fox

We already know the Wii U is more powerful than Xbox360 and PS3….so there is no reason why the Wii U couldn’t run it….if RockStar would put GTA on the Wii U, maybe folks wouldn’t see the Wii U as a “kiddie console”

    • Robert Lawson

I doubt it, Nintendo has a couple rated M games released now and a few on the way and people still considering it a “kiddy console”. I doubt every M rated game present or future releasing on the console will change some peoples minds, us Nintendo fans either just have to A: Not care what other people think, or B: Keep telling these people they’re idiots.

    • oontz

Nintendo is seen as a “kiddie console” because Nintendo is a game system geared towards children. That IS their demographic.

As per the E.P.A (The Entertainment Software Association) whose job it is to research and find out the demographics of video game users…

“The average gamer is 30 years old and has been playing for 13 years. Sixty-eight percent of gamers are 18 or older.”

Research from Neilson of the last generation of video game systems found

“Wii: The best-selling of the three systems, appeals to boys age 6-11 and usage of Wii by the 18-30 age group, considered the core/hardcore gaming segment, is very low compared to the other two consoles.”

The data shows that the average gamer doesn’t own or play a nintendo home system. Also the actual facts and data clearly show that Nintendo is a kids console. I’ve always said that many adults grew up with Nintendo, but Nintendo never grew up with them. Nintendo has always targeted the younger demographic of gamers.

  • Daniel Carvalho

Read your stones and sticks, internet, for here comes a opinion!

No, I don’t like GTA games, so I wouldn’t buy it.

  • Alexandre

    I don’t have a PS3 or Xbox 360…

  • Shadriczo

This is what things go when fans fight and others plan games…
    http://images.gameskinny.com/gameskinny/7a81019d1831d2ee45740e7aba91602c.jpg

This is what trolling fans blab about hardcore gaming with maturity…
    http://bulk.destructoid.com/ul/user/6/66212-196471-HardcoreGamersjpg-620x.jpg

But does Nintendo give a fuck about the evolving world around them, when others say there “Doomed” or “There Finished??” HELL TO THE FUCKING NO!!!

    • Sean

lol that hardcore gamer one is priceless

    • Donaald

That movie was so awesome. As for the rest of the images ROFL.

  • thuggamer99

gamepad radar, off-tv play, HD graphics, pro controllers, local multiplayer could be possible because gamepad 2nd screen, gamepad mic built in, cross-platform play for GTAO, import music from sd card slot or usb storage device, and big ass miiverse community…yep rockstar this game would be awesome for the wii u.

    consider it.

  • devmiles

ain’t gonna happen with these wii-u sales, never..forget about it. even worse..i don’t see any of rockstars slamming titles coming to wii-u. nintendo just screwed that.

    • Jon

It was never going to happen anyway. Rockstar is similar to Bethesda where they have never released anything on Nintendo consoles and they never will regardless of how many people own the system.

  • Shadriczo
  • Krypto Konon TehHedgehog

Already sold my Gaybox 360….I was going to buy a PS3 for this but if its comes to PS4…or Wii U. No need.

    • Tim van Broekhoven

      Gaybox… Lol

      • Krypto Konon TehHedgehog

Lol thats why i sold it. Its a Gaybox xD

        • Tim van Broekhoven

          Why is it gay?

    • Andreas Sunde

Doubt it’ll come to PS4, but there is still a chance for a Wii U/PC release. I’d recommend getting a PS3 anyway though, loads of great games (although Uncharted is seriously overrated).

  • Epic Markell Joshua

I would get it for wiiU or pc.

  • Andy Johnson

I would much rater support Nintendo then the other supporting platforms. Also, i believe the ability to use the WIiU game pad will be perfect as a map and inventory reference for this game!

  • Ace J

I would have it was announced for the wii u. unfortunately if it does come out i wouldn’t get it. because I would already have the ps3 version, iam picking it this Thursday

  • Merrfn

I have to start a petition on change.org! We are gonna get GTA V guys! ლ(◕ω◕ლ)

    • Marcus Navarro

Dude, don’t even bother. Unless you’ve written a Master Thesis, online petitions are a joke.

Edit: That’s probably an overstatement, but you see my point.

      • Untrentide

        Therefore, Write a Master thesis.

        • Marcus Navarro

For a port that *might* see a Wii U release?

          • Untrentide

The more the merrier imo. If every person on this board wrote one email to each developer they were bothered by i could see change.

      • Merrfn

        ﴾͡๏̯͡๏﴿ O’RLY?

  • Madmagican

Uh, of course I’d buy GTA V if it was on Wii U

    • Merrfn

It is a huge game! I just want to play it so bad…

  • Aleks

Not a great big fan of guns/ murder/criminality, but would jump at chance to play a HUGE game that doesn’t involve cartoony bobblehead characters collecting coins or jumping on toony enemies.

  • Ballzbeard

I prefer to have games like these on PC because of the crazy mods put out by the community

  • Eduardo

I didn’t buy it because its not on wii u and I do have all consoles.

    • John Andalora

They’re asking if you would if it was on Wii U.

      • Eduardo

I already gave them my answer.. I voted yes. What did you vote?

        • John Andalora

Voted Maybe. GTA V isn’t high on my list of games I want to get. I’m waiting for Watch Dogs.

      • Eduardo

Actually it’s a poll to vote on. and I voted yes. What are you like the wiiudaily police? Lol Jk.. What did you vote?

  • crocodileman94

No. I’m not a fan of realistic looking games. Which is why I prefer Nintendo.

  • DragonSilths

Nope. Dont care for the GTA franchise.

  • Toadlord

There are few gaming announcements that would make my year more than a GTA V announcement for Wii U. It’s titles like this that make me criticize Nintendo for lack of attracting third party support. I know it goes both ways, but this is a game that I feel like we’re missing out on.

  • darkcreap

I horribly want this game for Wii U. Honest.

  • MetroidZero

Take out the Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Drugs and Alcohol, and then perhaps I’ll THINK about it. I can deal with one or two curse words and a little blood but not all of that stuff; too vulgar for me. GTA 5 makes, like, Resident Evil: Revelations seem like E for Everyone. I could play Mature games like ZombiU and Resident Evil, but nothing like GTA 5.

    • 00EpicGamer00

Ha, ha! I agree with ya’ xD

I was bored one day and wanted to watch a let’s play of GTA (because I don’t own anything but Nintendo consoles, so I wanted to see what this “GTA” business was all about.) And, literally, just the first…10 seconds, I was completely flabbergasted by how much cursing there was. Good lord, it made games like Resident Evil and Assassin’s creed look like kid games O.O

I seriously hate games that think they need crap-tons of cursing to prove a point. That’s why I like Assassin’s Creed so much (3 on Wii U was my first :).) Assassin’s Creed only has a few curse words here and there, not like, literally every second.

Edit: This is why, at times, I think Nintendo is more mature than their competitors. Nintendo doesn’t need to put in tons of cursing, blood (Nintendo has some games that have blood, but it’s very little to where it’s JUST right), or nudity, to prove their point in their games. So, it just begs the question, is Nintendo the actual mature company here?

      • MetroidZero

I agree with you. I watched like 15 minutes of GTA V and I was cringing.

P.S. I haven’t played Assassin’s Creed yet…i know it’s cheap like on Amazon and Ebay. Might have to snatch that one in the near future.

    • Shawn White

I’m sorry, but without those aspects, GTA wouldnt be nearly as great. I honestly like these features because what I cant do in real life, I can do in the game. But I understand where you’re coming from.

    • Falcoxcalibur

GTA is not really about that stuff you pointed out. Those are just part of the experience, but not the main appeal.

      • david jarman

For most people it is. Otherwise, why have it?

    • Leo

Uhn but that’s the point really. GTA is an over the top game. Its just not meant to be serious. It is careless fun in an alternative world where everything is allowed. I can see why this game has such a massive appeal and i welcome those frivolous experiences like hardcore porn in a fantasy dream like world.

  • Jared Garcia

I’d fire a load if the words GTA 5 and Wii U came out of Rockstar’s mouth.

  • Mochlum

Rockstar said they’re only doing it on a current gen consoles (Wii U is next gen), so I can kind of understand that. But if GTA VI doesn’t come and their excuse is “too last gen”, I’ll be annoyed.

    • gusto

      “next gen”

      **tee hee snicker snicker**

    • oontz

ha ha, come on I OWN a wiiu. It’s not next gen tech. Only in the sense that it’s Nintendo’s next system.

      • Mochlum

Well, that’s the definition of “generation”. And developers are already having a lot of trouble with next gen technology (or so I’ve heard), at least according to this guy’s video (it’s long, but brings up some good points) . If the articles are right, then the Wii U may have an advantage.

  • Tim van Broekhoven

Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes!!!I neeeed GTA V and I don’t have a PS360 to play it on :( so yspesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes definately!!!

  • Truthteller

I was wondering how long they were going to try and stop from reporting on this mega sensation! Too bad you have to hope, pray and conjure up what it would be like for the Wii U to have the game. If it does make an appearance on the Wii U, then you can bet Nintendo paid for it.

    • mojack411

If by “they” you mean the Wii U Daily staff, Nick isn’t a resident author for Wii U Daily. His home is actually PS4 Daily. And what he says is right, it would be interesting to see what people who own many consoles think . No reason to avoid the question.

    • Marcus Navarro

Like Sony pays for most of their exclusives and MS their exclusives and exclusive content and PC ports.

    • Marcus Navarro

Yeah. Fanboy. *sigh* I guess I’m from the outside-looking-in. I wonder if this feeling I have is the same feeling non-Pokemon fans get when Pokemon fanboys go beserk over a next-generation release…

    • howling_wolf1334:[

Hahaha!!! Dont make me laugh!!! We can buy as well for our PS3 or Xbox 360… If some of us have it…. I maybe try it in my ps3…

Keep up the good work!!! U R doing a very good work assuming that we all R fanboys like U!!!

      • jay

        I can’t. my 360 got the RROD :(

    • jay

      “mega sensation” lol

Wii Sports would outsell your “mega sensation” if it were released on ps3.

      • oontz

you’re comparing GTA with wiisports… HA HA HA, seriously? that’s all you got?

  • Gabriel Dowdy

Of course. Big GTA also huge Nintendo fan. Probably won’t buy for a few months, with all the Wii U titles I’m going to be playing. But if it came to the Wii U next year, hell yeah I’d buy it. Why not?

  • mojack411

Assuming there are no bugs or glitches that are exclusive to the Wii U version, I hardly see any reason not to buy Wii U versions of multi-platform games currently. This will change when the PS4 and XBone come out of course, but the graphics are essentially the same, if not a little better, and you get GamePad specific features like a constant large map or off-TV play. Nintendo doesn’t have the best online? Ok, you have a point but that means nothing for a single player experience like GTA V. So yes, I would buy GTA V for Wii U when I already have a 360. It would simply be the superior version, albeit only very slightly.

    • Truthteller

The online is what we are really waiting for, damn the main game!

  • MississaugaMaverick

It looks like a great game and i’m sure it would sell great on the wii u, but its just not for me so i voted no.

  • Nintendude

I don’t really care for GTAV. If it came to the Wii U then maybe. But at the moment I’m not interested.

    • Truthteller

Well go stand in your corner with the other sore losers! As you can read, even this games makes the usual crowd suspend their propaganda in order to get to it!

      • Jon

I knew you’d be here. Any thing about GTA with you and it like a kid hyped up on caffeine at Christmas. You seem to forget that not everyone cares for GTA games

this article could be about how the game programs of gta take shits and truthteller will be all over this article

        • Truthteller

Yeah, but most people do, that’s why it’s mention on a Nintendo site even though it is not on a Nintendo system!

          • jay

More people care about Wii Fit than GTA but you won’t see me trolling ps sites about it….

      • Nintendude

Well excuse me for having in opinion, lol.

      • david jarman

If its so great then why are you here instead of playing it? How is it that a fan site has that much power over you that it tears you away from only thing you live for? I give gtaV an 8.9 and wiiudaily a 10

        • Truthteller

I just got off of it. It was spectacular as expected. The ONLY thing I did not like were the cops staying on you and they are hard to shake, the cars come to a complete stop when you crash and the fact that I cannot hit or kill people indoors. Maybe that latter will change as I progress, but other than that – it is a masterpiece! I also have never been to L.A. so this is my virtual tour. I always thought that city was lacking for the 2nd largest, but it looks OK in the game. You Wii U people might as well call it a system and sell the Wii U and buy GTA V! Who needs a new system with these graphics?

          • howling_wolf1334:[

Okay, Okay… calm down dude!!! Maybe we can try it in order to find out the kind of xperiences u get from it!!!

“If its so great then why are you here instead of playing it?”

unfortunately my place of employment wouldn’t be happy if I showed up with a tv, ps3 and GTA V. I can however freely use the internet.

          • david jarman

Wow, you completely missed the point.
Then if its that good he/you would be more interested in being on a forum talking about the game and not wasting his time trolling a wiiu fan site.

          • oontz

Ummm, how is it trolling when this is a GTA article on a Wiiu site? So people can’t talk about GTA V here, even though the article is about GTA V? Also I post on many forums all day long because I have direct internet access at work. When I get home I play games.

          • david jarman

Because that is all he does and constantly does. Did you not read his first comment? Calling us losers for not getting the game and he is always badgering people here that nintendo is dead. So you know what he abused his welcome here.
The point of what I said was pure sarcasm.
So are you here to pick a fight and white knight for a person that IS troll and likes to start fights for his simple mind enjoyment?

  • e_rocket

Yes I would, because I don´t have nor want to buy other consoles and the game looks fun…

  • W!1

GTA V allows Wii U, just alike all of the titles currently on the console, be a first performance for the Wii U. What will make it better is the off tv play and possibly multiplayer, in the living room and online.

I did the same thing with Manhunt 2, which was epic for Wii, why not GTA V?

  • xjb17

No, I’ll just play it on my 360..

  • Lil J Moore

    No questions asked. Hell yeah

  • Xavier Lopez Chabelo

    Absolutely. Still Im waiting…. and waiting…. and waiting for a PC release…. o hummanity…

    • oontz

      It’s coming… soon

  • Theiz Zzee

Yes. I think it’s great for the console. Last gen other mature third party games like the Godfather, Mad World and No More Heroes were released. All sold decent and some times better than other consoles. Bully sold descent compared to other consoles and Manhunt 2 sold almost as many as any other console. GTA Chinatown sold over a million worldwide for the DS. Nintendo owners have spoken with their wallets by supporting Rockstar games released. Nintendo now has a more powerful console, better media and drive storage as well as a better online infrastructure. The gamepad could be very useful. Maybe even as a local two player co-op. I think it is quite possible it can come to the Wii U. The game has been rumored to have have been tested for the Wii U and Reggie talked about bringing it to the Wii U about a year ago. It will make Nintendo money and it will make Rockstar money. A great business decision
for both. That’s what you call a win win.

  • JJ

Its frustrating as not only would I buy on the Wii U, the off-TV play means its the ONLY SYSTEM I’d buy it on. I’m an adult and I can’t commandeer the TV for hours and just ignore the missus. She gets her TV, I play my game. There’s no other way it can happen, and that’s the same for huge numbers of people who would be gamers but for their relationships. Assuming the WiiU is technically capable, all it needs is the right marketing.

There’s legions of “can’t be gamers” rather than “won’t be gamers” and off-TV play unlocks it for all of them.

Sometimes I feel I’m taking happy pills – why isn’t the WiiU being marketed this way?

    • oontz

or you could buy your lady her own tv.

      • JJ

funny but not going to happen – I’m not a student anymore! wii was so successful as it made it into living rooms that didn’t have to belong to dedicated gamers. i realise most “normal joes” don’t come onto sites like this, but fact is many people’s lives are too busy for traditional gaming due to way lives and living room use is set up. Wii U had/has potential to tap into that – one game large numbers would like to play but can’t would be a genuine system seller.

      • JJ

    • Jason

I didn’t really find saints row that good. Am I missing something in those? Just seems way to over the top for me personally. I played the first really didn’t care for it the 2nd was better than the first and the 3 and 4th just didn’t catch my attention. Not trying to troll on anyone’s preference they just seem similar in many ways GTA just isn’t as off the wall as saints row has become.

If I was Nintendo I would look at this as a missed opportunity. A game that took over 200 million to make and that they say in sells could reach a billion. I would definitely want that on my system and have no idea why Nintendo never seems to fight for anything, they just let it be. GTA V for Wii U probably would of been a surprise and brought a lot more interest to the system, especially if it were to be released at the same time as other platforms…

How is Sony robbing you? Instead of ramming a new gamepad/tablet controller down your throat. They give you the option for off screen play if you CHOOSE to pursue it. Also just FYI vita doesn’t require a vita box. They are separate devices that work independently from each other.

I said no… mostly because I just… don’t have that high opinion of Rockstar games. I think most of what Rockstar publishes are overhyped mediocre products… and what’s left are projects that should have never gotten off the ground; and yes I am referring to Manhunt.

Rather, much like any Bethesda game, the greater play value typically comes from outside of any actual Rockstar release in the form of player-driven modifications. While consoles are getting to the point where player-driven modifications are a possibility; and while I harbor no doubt that the WiiU’s Gamepad could be a killer feature for letting players get that content produced; I just can’t see Rockstar having the creativity or the willingness to support such a development path.

Deep Silver and Saints Row 4 on the other hand…

    • Truthteller

      Jealous

      • Jon

how…. does his comment make him jealous?

    • oontz

“I think most of what Rockstar publishes are overhyped mediocre products…”

Well you’re entitled to your opinion. Even though it’s the complete opposite of the rest of the gaming world. Even more so if you think Saints row is a better gaming experience than GTA.

      • ICHI

Saints row 2 when it was released was so much more fun than gta4 which took itself way too seriously. The game itself was a massive technical achievement but boring to boot and I want my games to be fun. SR2 and Crackdown 2 were brilliantly fun little sandboxes I’d happily go back to. That being said I do like rockstar games, Midnight Club has always been great fun, L.A. Noir I got completely absorbed into and nothing on this earth quite captures the genius of red dead redemptions online. You and your posse riding buffalo into an enemy controlled fort amidst cannon fire, shooting snipers off church roofs and looking snazzy in massive sombrero’s. When one team is crowned victor, we’ll all go the bar for a round of poker.

        • oontz

Well you NEED to play GTA V.
It takes the best of Midnight Club, Max Payne, Red Dead, and LA Noire… and puts it into the insane scope of the GTA world. It is an amazing gaming experience.

I feel bad for any gamer who doesn’t get to experience it. It’s that great.

          • ICHI

I’m sure at some point I will get to play it but it’s not making me go out and buy it just yet. A friend of mine has picked up a copy yesterday at a midnight store opening and has told his Mrs she is effectively single for the rest of the month, I will probably hear nothing but gtaV talk from him for a while which will eventually break me down lol.

    • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

what “all games”? i think only splinter cell have issues.

    • Merrfn

Care to elaborate about this horrible online experience?

    • Felix

well, have you guys ever played NFS most wanted? is laggy and faulty. FPS drops everytime. And it takes time to get into a online group.

have you tried call of duty? there are some modes unplayables because there is not enough people to fill them, and also some maps take half hour to fill a group. I know this is not nintendo fault at all, just that the playerbase is so low.

What about new Batman online? Oh wait, not included.

Etc. And i almost have cover every games with online which is sad xD

      • oontz

Wiiu online is not that great.

        • Petri

Some youtuber claimed CoD on Wii U has less lag online than other platforms.
          I think it was reviewtechUSA?
Every online game I have played, works fine, if I manage to get a game on less populated games.
Really liked Resident Evil Revelations online.

      • Arthur Jarret

Did you port-forward your router? That solves a lot of problems.

For references – I don’t have many problems with NFS – had the best online experience this gen with Monster Hunter, had some nice games after some waiting in D&D: Chronicles of Mystara, Leaderboards in Rayman are fun (beating my friends), I always find a fight quickly in Assassins creed after the first month (first month was bad), Tekken or Injustice.

Sonic racers also works fine… some lag at times, though – which is annoying, but this happens on every platform.

The only thing that consistently doesn’t work on my end are Zen /Star wars pinball’s leaderboards.

        • Felix

yep, the wii U is on DMZ.

the problem is that “nobody” play wii u… just get call of duty and see it. some maps doesnt even start never because no one is playing them.

i mean wii u online is “ok”, but i wouldnt buy GTA V of course, because the online experience is 100% ruined in the wii u at this point. wii U should grow so much before this could happen

          • Arthur Jarret

Do you play Monster Hunter 3? That game’s online is consistently occupied and a lot of fun, too.

I can’t really attest to Call of Duty, as I never liked military shooters much (I do like doom, wolfenstein, bioshock and the like… just the whole military thing is not for me) – but I have no problem finding a game on Need for Speed or Assassins creed, even though I do keep seeing the same names every week.

Injustice is a 5-minute long wait, but manageable. Tekken is still near-instant, but I don’t like playing online as I’m very much outclassed when I play with any fighter but that blonde french chick whose name I forgot. D&D is a 15-minute long wait, but you can play as it’s drop in/drop out so not an issue.

Edit: My point being is, most issues are caused by a lack of people who own a wii U. So it’s not the Wii U online that suck per se, there are just not enough people using it.

The lag can be explained by that as well: due to not enough available players in a location nearby with optimal connections, the game connects you with the best available player – either on another continent or with a poor internet connection, resulting in laggy online play.

          • Felix

have the game but didnt play it yet. so cant say anything xD.

i dont have many problems finding games in NFS, maybe at some hours is better than others. but the game is laggy and fps drops too much. cars that dissapear, etc.

im agree that the problems are related to player base too. but come on… the nintendo online thing is lame.

nintendo never had a good online features or integration with the system

          • Arthur Jarret

I really disagree with you here – as better populated games prove the online structure is very robust. Lag and connection issues only seem to occur on poorly populated servers. If I play Burnout Paradise online on PS3 today I see a similar lag, for the same reasons.

  • M.Bison

    OF COURSE!

  • Henry Hotspur

Yes, just so everyone that sees that I have it for Wii U go “What the fuck, are you serious with this?!”

  • BL4CKSH33P

gta is not the game it used to be.

    • Leo

      How so?

      • Arthur Jarret

It’s 3D, not top-down perspective, characters talk instead of the muted phone rabble, the game looks great and non-pixely, there is an actual story, it’s on blu-ray instead of CD…

      • BL4CKSH33P

Well let me rephrase that, gta is exactly the same game it just doesn’t hold the same value, because of its lack of growth. Its the same game every 2 years, just more realistic, and a new dude to run around as. It has no place in my library. you guys can play it to your hearts content but it is annoying how popluar the franchise still is after gta 4 sucked so much ass, and gta 5 looks no different. Saints row the third was refreshingly original at least.

    • oontz

      Yeah it’s much better.

  • Twist

Game pad features and off tv play ftw! Plus, I’m not to keen on buying any games for ps3 or Xbox 360 with both platforms due for a new release while wii u is the newest console out. So yeah, not only would I buy it on wii u, I’m not buying it all on the soon to be outdated other platforms.

Past GTA games on Nintendo systems always rock… in more that one way. They are good games, but fall like hard rocks right to the bottom. For one reason or another, Nintendo’s public don’t buy a lot of third parties even excellent ones as GTA.

Might sell it in future, since I don’t watch blu-ray movies.

          • Arthur Jarret

Which 1 game do you occassionaly play?

I play Journey all the time. Also Hotline Miami (also available for PC, but still), Gran turismo 5, Demon’s souls, 3D Dot game heroes, Creating levels that abuse the object spawner in little big planet to crash the game… good fun to be had!

I play the wii U more since I got it though – at first I thought it was due to it being the new thing, but now I think it’s because that big controller is a bit more comfortable for an adult to hold & the miiverse is a fantastic addition that really enriches my sessions on it: from chatting to posting pictures together with some joke text…

I’ll get GTA 5 for PS3 sometime next week (I hate waiting for paychecks) – but I’d certainly double-dip if it was announced for Wii U later.

          • Petri

            Bayonetta.

But currently I have been playing a lot of Dark Souls on my PC.
That is the reason I’m falling behind on my Wii U games.

Tried to get in to Splinter Cell, but since no offline coop, and online coop doesn’t seem to work or there just simply isn’t anyone playing it.
            Could ask around miiverse though.

Demon’s Souls was a great game, played that a lot back in a day.
Cant really tell why, but Dark Souls doesn’t feel as good, but still a good game.
I hope Dark Souls 2 will surpass both of them.

          • Arthur Jarret

Bayonetta is great – but the Xbox version was superior – better framerate. I own the PS3 version too, as I don’t have an Xbox.

I really recommend getting Lollipop chainsaw too – had a lot of fun with that one. And Vanquish and Madwo… erm, anarchy reigns.

I won’t even mention great games like Catherine, Tales of Graces, Tales of Xillia or Ni no Kuni…
            (okay, I lied… I mentioned them)

          • Petri

Well, I think PS3 version is just fine, nothing on it has never bothered me, and only see the graphical difference on thos side by side comparisons.

There’s literally thousands of games worth getting between all the platforms.
But because of time constraints, I’m limiting my physical/retail collection for Wii U for now.

I was about to exit console gaming, since Microsoft or Sony wasn’t really offering anything I couldn’t get on PC.
Then Nintendo resurrected Bayonetta, so figured I’d give them a change.

Also games I had for PS3 were 99% not family friendly.
So if Nintendo and my gaming PC can offer all the variety I need, and games to play with my family, I’ll be content.

          • Arthur Jarret

I respectfully disagree about the PS3 having no family friendly games – as I own quite a lot of them, as well as plenty of games and experiences that just aren’t offered on PC – these range from imaginative games like little big planet and the puppeteer to non-game content like wonderbook.

            Ah well, opinions.
I’m lucky to not have any social life whatsoever, so I can enjoy all my devices without having to worry about time constraints.

          • Petri

I meant, I didnt have, I know there are different varieties of games on PS3, I had LBP and mod nation racers, also I had some PS Move games which we enjoyed.
But my library was 99% family unfriendly games.

          • Arthur Jarret

You really should mind the kids man… if Nintendo’s 3rd party plan paid off, you would’ve had a sad, sad home.

          • Petri

            Lost me there.
            What plans?
You mean more third party would mean less first party?
            Third party = Mature games?

My child is not yet of age to play games.
But I have had fun with games of all variety of rated PEGI 3 to 18.

I don’t really mind the current shortage of third party on Wii U, since I have PC to play with, if I get bored enough.

          • Arthur Jarret

Plans to get the core gamer back, draw back third party developers, unprecedented partnerships with EA… those plans. (as stated on E3 when they revealed the console)

It would mean more (not limited to) mature games would have come to this platform together with the line-up of family friendly titles – a bit more similar to playstations offering of mixed mature and family oriented titles.

As you stated most games you own on ps3 are mature content – I took a liberal assumption of your purchases in the case the wii u offered more content to directly compete with this type of content on competing consoles.

But don’t worry. Most of the time, I don’t know what I’m talking about either.

          • Petri

I’m happy if the console has variety in all sort of games, I don’t have to play them, I don’t have to like them, but someone might want them.
My taste in games is more for mature, but I do enjoy playing games in all variety.

I rationalize my purchase as being family friendly, and something my son can play,
but overall, I bought Wii U only because of Bayonetta 2, other games Nintendo offers are just nice change from usual games I play.
I haven’t bought a game on Wii U yet, that I have hated.

          • Arthur Jarret

I’ve never bought a game that I hated… well, except to complete a series (for instance: I own all sonic games in some form, with the exception of sonic riders kinect – all of them are good, some great – except ’06)

I do like variety though… I play Splatterhouse one minute, Kirby’s epic yarn the next. So I don’t like a particular aesthetic, explicity of content or genre – but whatever intangible quality I look for in my games, I always manage to lift from reviews wether my intended wish list entry has that ‘it’ factor.

          • Petri

I buy games on impulse, and if there is even one aspect I like about them I buy them.
I even used to buy systems on impulse.
I dont watch reviews, because I dont really care what others think about the game.
If games commercials, demos, betas, trailers or hype is not enough for me to buy the game, I don’t bother to look for a reason to get that game.

          • Arthur Jarret

I do research my games… especially if I pay 60 bucks for them.
But I read reviews a bit differently from other people – I guess… I have quite a few games that got sub-4.0 scores across the board that I really enjoyed. I feel reviewers are a bit jaded considering playing games… and rushing through a game to catch a deadline makes for an entirely different experience than playing at home, with friends etc.

I actually read the reviews for details about how the game plays and what the story is like – I don’t pay much attention to the personal experience of a reviewer or the score.
Commercials, trailers and hype don’t have a thing to do with gameplay… I might watch a movie because of these, but none of it will make me buy a game.

Demo’s… well, I’ve often seen demo’s give a bad impression of the overall game. Either the demo/beta contains all the best set-pieces (like Sonic Unleashed’s demo… it wasn’t bad but the demo level was the best thing about the game) and the rest of the game is boring – or the demo/beta is botched but the game is excellent (like SOCOM 4, Lords of shadow, the Wonderful 101 demo that fails to teach the players the depth of the combo system or show the extremely diverse gameplay. Or Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, which fails to show any of the character-building aspects and only showed the limits of your character vs. monsters – prompting silly ‘controls suck’ complaints)… so I only let that be a deciding factor when I’m on the fence of buying a game.

          • Arthur Jarret

            By the way:
As I got Dark souls: PTDE just a week ago – I can say I preferred the start of Dark souls. (especially fall-slashing the prison demon – it felt like my first Goomba all over again) – but the main game just feels more… cheery, bright and less atmospheric than demon’s souls.

I also killed the guy that talks to you in the beginning after I heard him speak… that reminded me how to shield bash & counter well – as he killed me over 12 times until I managed to slay him. As a result, Dark souls seems a little easier.

Mainly playing as undead though, to avoid invasions at inoppertune times.

          • Petri

I like to wear cat covenants ring, its funny when people who goes to the area on sole purpose of pvp, then they get killed and get mad.
I would be alive a lot more, if summoning system worked properly.
As I wait to get a summon for a boss, someone invades and kills me, and if I don’t have any humanities left, I have to run for my corpse and then run back to bonfire to restore.
And usually those who invades, are not beginners, or even near your level.

But overall, great game, as it keeps me playing it even when nothing else motivates me at the moment.

          • oontz

You should play 3d Dot Game Heroes!! Awesome game. Also you should really give GTA V a chance.

  • ICHI

I have only ever really liked two games in the series (the very first and vice city), but I bet the multiplayer is good in gtaV as good at least as red dead redemption, and if it came to Wii U I’d have to buy it to support their decision to do so.

  • Rabbi Bongstien

This game would be the $h!t and I would buy the crap out of it!

  • Arthur Jarret

Gamers have come to accept that Rockstar doesn’t bring their games to Nintendo consoles…

3, vice city and san andreas weren’t on xbox either – on the other hand:

    They did make

Earthworm jim and monster truck madness on N64
    Smugglers run: Warzones on gamecube

Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2 and Austin powers games on GBC
Max Payne and Grand theft auto advance on GBA
    GTA chinatown wars on DS
Bully, Manhunt 2 and Table tennis on Wii

If the wii had the same install base and also the same capability as the Xbox360, they would have made the effort for Red Dead Redemption, GTA 4, Max Payne 3 and LA noire too.

They (Rockstar) don’t have something against nintendo – the sales number just wouldn’t justify the cost of optimizing the game for the wii U right now – maybe Wii U sales will be up to par around the time they release a PC version, and else the publisher most likely feel like they missed the window for a port.

  • Levi Johansen

I would ONLY buy it for Wii U.

If it doesn’t come to the Wii U, I’ll download it for PC.
If it doesn’t come to PC, I won’t be playing it.

    Simple as that.

  • joey t

My answer, no. Simply for the fact that the majority of my friends all have it on ps3. And whenever I check my friends list there’s always between 2 – 8 people logged on playing it. So basically no because I’m looking forward to the multiplayer, and knowing the Wii U, it probably wouldn’t of ever have got online :/ The only thing that would persuade me would be if graphically it was significantly better. Which again Wii U hasn’t proved itself to be that crash hot with ports. And yes I am aware of splintercell and the better textures in most wanted but still there’s no ports on the Wii U which simply stand out above the other systems.

  • jay

    NO.

Because My money will be going to Pikmin 3, NSMB U/Luigi U, Resident Evil Revelations, Scribblenauts, Game And Wario….

and AMNESIA: A MACHINE FOR PIGS (FINALLY!!!!!!!)

    • Arthur Jarret

You still didn’t get those games?

Sheesh, you’re falling behind. The next thing you tell me is that you’re still saving up for Monster Hunter, Toki Tori 2 and Nintendoland…

      :P

      • NatT96™

Our free to play game is coming its coooming.

      • jay

I don’t own a Wii U yet I’m waiting for the Price drop baby!!

Plus it would be unfair to talk about FUTURE games since GTA is out already.

P.S. I would LOVE to see GTA V on Wii U. BUT the poll said would I BUY it. NO unless the Wii U had no games then I’d definitely buy GTA V but it wouldn’t be on my radar.

        • Arthur Jarret

Well, the only game I’d get over GTA V would be Monster hunter 3/4 or Pokemon X/Y. All of them are games you can easily spend up to 300 hours in – that’s a lot of value for your money.

Also, that crazy GTA humour. These are busy and expensive times for a gamer… Watchdogs and AC IV also incoming, not to mention Sonic and windwaker revisited… I still haven’t managed to pick up game n wario, spiderman or lego batman 2 for wii u either.

Where’s a winning lottery ticket when you need one?

  • XBASS KINGTING

I’ve skipped ,I’ve never skipped a g t a, I’m not buying it for my 360 I rather it come to the wii u, not buying on some outdated. Tec when I’m picking up ps4 soon

    • Jason

Sad thing is current gen may be outdated tech soon but GTA 5 looks pretty damn good as good as next gen IMO. Rock star always seems to nail it on hardware. It’s one of the best looking games out there. Good thing is it has the GTA feel but is almost a completely different game. It’s not your usually go here for a cutscene mission. Your added into the mission plots. theres hardly any load times unless your switching between characters off mission. the ability to change characters within a mission give a different perspective it’s really a game of its own. It’s one of the best GTAs is a long time.

  • XBASS KINGTING

Rockstar wat the fuck are they doing the gamepad would of smashed it

  • LordiMcKill

GTA V on Wii U FTW

  • Nico_D

Probably not since it’s not my kind of game anymore. But that doesn’t mean that Rockstar shouldn’t give others the option to buy it on Wii U.

  • https://soundcloud.com/rauschenmaschine Kristian Kouvo

Popularity of Grand Theft Auto series is based on the open world; the freedom of doing almost anything possible. Many people purge their frustrations in GTA and does all kinds of bad/shitty things, which they couldn’t/or want to do IRL ~ “the dark side”. Maybe therapeutic experience, dunno, maybe even bad thing. Anyway am not judging any GTA player here even myself I don’t enjoy the plots, constant swearing and killing.

But am saying, give us more OPEN WORLD games – and they will sell like nuts.

  • Angelo Ricardo

This game would be totally awesome on gamepad, using it as map or off tv play.

    • NatT96™

Thank You for thinking about the Wii U’s true potential.

  • Grulnork

Not interested in GTA games and if I was I would wait for the PC version. Wii U is only for Nintendo exclusives to me.

  • NatT96™

    The poll says all.

  • Saul Rivera

  • Scott Duperree

It would be nice to see the game companies take the Wii U seriously, but a big no to the GTA series. Better ways to spend my time than with the junk in that game.

    • oontz

So you don’t watch R rated movies either?

      • Scott Duperree

Not for a few years – but thats a different topic altogether. The glorification of strip clubs (contributing the whole pornographic and sexual trafficking scene) and the rewarding of senseless violence (without plot – for fun) is pretty startling. Jesus has better for you man.

        • oontz

Jesus has better for me? Tell me more.

          • Scott Duperree

Life everlasting – cant beat that

          • oontz

Is that like some sort of regenerative health pack?

  • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

As a fan of the series in the past and even though I personally found GTA IV to be a disappointment I think I would get this if it came to Wii U. I do not have a PS3 and I am trying to do my best to avoid getting new games for the XB360 so as of now this is on my Maybe list for the PC if it comes out but would change that to Wii U in a heartbeat if it was available.

  • Spencer Manigat

I would buy it for the Wii U even if it was missing features. I don’t care. Just gimme GTA V.

  • $26491484

I bought the game for the 360 yesterday and played it a lot.
Although great, the game’s riddled with problems, mainly in regard to controls. Holding the D-pad to bring up a menu and select character or radio station is a chore. Having these things on the touch screen would be great.
The cellphone is a true pain because I sit far away from the TV. The minigame where you had to remove popup-windows on an in-game computer was a chore because everyone by now knows that moving a mouse using an analogue stick is bad.
Not to mention the Wii U is more powerful, so hopefully NPC’s can spawn farther away so that when you fly a plane, you have something to shoot at.

In essence, this could actually be the game that shows everyone that the Wii U pad makes sense.

    • oontz

“Holding the D-pad to bring up a menu and select character or radio station is a chore. Having these things on the touch screen would be great.”

Couldn’t disagree more. It’s a great control scheme and would be ruined if I needed to look away from the tv and down at my gamepad. This is why the gamepad fails in a sense, because it pulls you out of the experience. On GTAV I can quickly and intuitively switch things on the fly, without ever being pulled put of the experience by looking at my controller.

  • teknik1200

I’ve never actually played a GTA game. I tried red dead and hated it. I just want to hear about some localized monster hunter 4 and I’ll be good.

Red dead scared me away from GTA, fetch

    • Leo

Thats funny because i think Red Dead is a much better game than GTA… interesting how people feel about those games in a extreme way “hate it” or “love it”. I would rather have Red Dead on my WiiU anyday than GTA though.

  • springer85

LMFAO!!!When will you Nintendo SLURPERS wake up?NO 3RD party would bother making a game for the Wii U when it only has a user base of 3.7 Million would be SUICIDE and a waste of time just as Wonderful 101 proved with epic fail sales!!!
PS3 and Xbox 360 have a combined user base of 160 Million and is why 3rd party are still making games for them.
The Wii U will at least have to get its user base to over 20 Million before any serious 3rd party hop on board!!
The Wii U is dead and has been dead since Last November.
Gonna be hillarious when the next gen arrive and OBLITERATE it!!!

    • Marcus Navarro

      …this isn’t even worth a rebuttal…

      • TaintedXGamer

As we say before……… down vote and Move along, this troll need to be spitroasted by our downvotes.

        • springer85

LMFAO this rehash pile of tripe is gonna GET OBLITERATED by GTA V!!!

          • TaintedXGamer

            Just great……..
this SOAB is a fucking ninja Troll >_>

          • springer85

Aww just as The Wii U did not get GTA V as Rockstar said it would be a waste of time do not cry!!
            LOL

  • springer85

    GTA V reviews……EVERYONE saying it is a masterpiece 10/10!!!
Rehash Zelda Wii U average reviews…..8.8-9/10!!!
    LMFAO!!!!!!!!!
The Wii U so needed GTA V more than Rehash 85th time Zelda!!!
    BWAHAHAHAHA

    • Jimmy D. Fugate

Oh my god, a 9/10….that’s just horrible.

  • springer85

GTA V cost 170 Million to make and 4 years and will shatter sales records!!
Windwaker HD Rehash is the EXACT same game as the Gamecube version but with just HD,a few new bridges here and there and probably cost Nintendo about 1.5 Million to make!!
    LMFAO!!!

    • Jimmy D. Fugate

An HD remake is just the original in HD???!!! Oh my god, I thought it was supposed to be a whole new game! But seriously, comparing an HD remake to a new game is like comparing a flip phone to an iPhone. There’s a 10 year difference there.

    • oontz

GTAV cost 260 Million to make and 5 years in development.

  • ludist210

It’s not my kind of game, so no. I’ve played every Grand Theft Auto game (not all the way through the story, but enough to make a call on whether it’s worth my money) and I haven’t enjoyed the game since…II. On PC.

  • Jimmy D. Fugate
  • Phillip Fauble

Funny how it was announced for Wii U so long ago.. then everyone just kinda forgot about it.

    • Moshugaani

      It was never announced! Source?

      • Jason

It was never announced they just said they weren’t against it being on wii u. I was excited thinking that it might be on wii u. That’s the system I was going to buy it for.

      • Phillip Fauble

It was talked about like crazy for a while.. I can’t find anything now though. Of course! Right when I need something!

Regardless, I don’t see it happening.

Developers won’t make games for it because it isn’t selling well..
Consumers won’t buy it because developers won’t make games… ehhhhhhhh I don’t understand.

    • oontz

It was never announced by Rockstar, ever.

  • Moshugaani

So GTA V would sell for at least 5000 copies on Wii U. Der her her.

  • FaTih

    Of fucking course

  • Guest

    Yea why not…

  • Arizvega

    I would buy it…
    Nintendo is to Cool Dude…

  • http://www.mpt-online.eu/ Sylux

I honestly wouldn’t buy it, I like the sandbox style of the game though, but it’s also a lot of racing in stolen cars, I never cared for racing games anyway, the only few I played in the past besides Mario Kart (Which I also hardly play) are Match Rider (Nes) and Rock ‘n Roll racing (Snes) I much rather buy Watchdogs instead.

  • Agent721

I would. I have it on the PS3 & its awesome. However, I own a Wii U for Nintendo’s games… and I played Pikmin 3 right after GTAV yesterday. Both are great games. The Wii U fans should not be jealous, they have their own great games, with a ton more in the way. In the end, if you want to play all games, you have to own all systems now-a-days…sad but true.

  • BL4CKSH33P

Is everyone pretending to be hyped over this game because its gta and it is cool, or because they seriously care about this piece of shit game?

    • Agent721

The hype is real. I called in sick to work yesterday just to play it. And I was not disappointed…and I work for a private equity firm, I am no kid! But I loved GTAIV & Red Dead, and this game brings more of the same.

      • BL4CKSH33P

Read dead redemption was fresh though, there aren’t to many western games around. The same game over and over re-branded with a new fucking number and people go crazy for it, not to mention the same people would criticize a game of its quality had it been something other than gta. Especially the graphics. Being an adult or child has nothing to do with it. Some kids have better taste in things than adults.

        • oontz

“The same game over and over re-branded with a new fucking number and people go crazy for it”

ha ha, sounds like a description of many Nintendo IPs. Same game over and over again.

GTAV is better than any GTA before it. This is the best of every rockstar game molded into one. It’s amazing and the graphics are beautiful for 8 year old tech. Who are you kidding. Stop being pathetic. You’ve obviously never even played it.

  • oregano

Off TV play- 1. My wife wants to watch T.V. 2. I bring Gamepad to bed. 3. Had a bonfire with 3 buddies while drinking and play MH3U with 3 3ds’s and my Gamepad.

2nd screen play- 1. Play NintendoLand 2. SuperMarioBros. boost mode. 3. Pikmin 3 Mutitask leaders rts style, camera. 4. MH3U well done screen managment and quick buttons. 5. SonicAllStarRacing/COD Multiplayer offers 2nd player own screen. 6. MiiVerse + Browser both great but enhanced by up close and personal with stylus. 7. Couch potatoes dream with laying down and playing.

Cons- Some find it cumbersome. Solution: Pro Controller 2. Triggers aren’t analog. 3. Most 3rd parties fall short.

I’d say there are some good reasons out there. And still much untapped potential.

  • Petri

    I really liked Sleeping Dogs

  • blindtiger

isnt there a petition for a wii u version? wii u daily should post a link so more people can sign…

  • http://akimoto.co.vu/ ilovegoogleglass

That’s a dumb question(pun intended) of course yes!!!

  • Larry Howell

Yes, I definitely would. However, Rockstar doesn’t think enough folks such as myself, and apparently many of the others who voted yes on this poll exist to warrant such a release.

  • xTrucho3

Fuck it, it didn’t release on the Wii U so be it. I hear Watch Dogs is gonna be good.

  • Daniel Mc’Conville

    Yes!! I would love to!

  • Gotallofthem

I thought I read on another site, that prior to the release of GTAV, there was a petition going on to bring it to the U. Seems it got only about 4000 votes, so I guess no one really cared enough to want it on the U. Else they would have signed it and perhaps we wouldn’t be talking about “if” it were on the U, we would be saying “Yes” it is on the U.

  • Michael Jurado

I’ll take watch dogs over gta v any day …. heck i’ll take lego city undercover over gta v :P

    • ChariotMan7

      Yea I might too.

    • oontz

Ha ha, lego city isn’t even on the same level as GTA V. Not even close.

  • ChariotMan7

Hell yea I would get this game no qestion. I still believe in my heart. the Wii U might get this game. no matter what!

  • Ryebread

my brother just said they didn’t release for wii u because its too weak compared to xbox360 and PS3…. im still laughing at him XD

    • oontz

This is a valid point. Rockstar has been working with the 360 and ps3 for 8 years. This is why GTA V looks so amazing. They have been able to squeeze every last drop of performance out of the old systems. It is very possible that the port to wiiu would look bad.

  • Saul Strange

I’m playing the damn thing right now… on my (barely-working) Xbox 360. So yeah, I would have bought it, definitely, without a moments hesitation.

I so badly wanted a (good) port of GTA V for my Wii U, but alas, I had to go elsewhere in the end.

Even folks who aren’t into GTA must have to admit that it would have been really good for the console to get a port. Millions of people are playing it, and none of them on a Nintendo console. I would have added relevancy to the Wii U at a time when it kinda needs it, not to mention the fact the I’d rather be playing it on my Wii U than on other consoles!

  • Akatosh

I’ve never really been into the GTA series.

  • oontz

WOW… $800+ Million USD in the first day! THAT is impressive. Almost double that of the recorded biggest opening day for a movie. It’s a pity Nintendo couldn’t have done more to secure this release for the wiiu.

    • BL4CKSH33P

I know it makes me look somewhat pathetic but I hate to see them do so well. I hate watching people, who don’t deserve to succeed, succeed. Perhaps the game isn’t total shit but its not worth all that compared to good games that deserve this much attention, and prestige. Just goes to show that the things that are popular are so popular because the majority of the world is so stupid.

      • oontz

        Wow you’re a jealous loser.

“I hate watching people, who don’t deserve to succeed, succeed.”

Rockstar has spent the last 5 years and over $260 Million dollars on producing GTA V. Their entire team has worked their asses off to release one of the best gaming experiences ever. They even delayed it almost a year to make sure that it was polished and perfect. Their is the reason they are getting perfect scores from almost every single review around the world. GTA V really is THAT great.

“Perhaps the game isn’t total shit but its not worth all that compared to good games that deserve this much attention, and prestige.”

Total Shit?!? HA HA HA. The game is amazing, from all aspects of game design. Having direct access to 3 protagonists throughout the duration of the main story is revolutionary. The reason it gets this much attention is because it is that great. Maybe if Nintendo chose to break the mold on some of their IPs they wouldn’t be in the situation they’re in now.

Sorry you seem to be personally hurt that people are enjoying this amazing gaming experience right now. True Gamers play and enjoy games on ANY platform, maybe you should try it some time.

        • BL4CKSH33P

You think hard work and money spent means you deserve anything, naive.Under that logic Final Fantasy XV would destroy the sales charts, but we all know how that will go even though its bound to be a fantastic game. Hitler spent millions and worked his ass off. Nuff said.
It’s not jealousy because I don’t want to be a successful game developer. I genuinely think the game doesn’t deserve half the attention its getting. Also the fact that they sold that many copies on the first day, with no gameplay demo throws your argument out the window, people bought it from pure hype not experience. They got exactly what they should have expected, gta 4, with better graphics, a new dude, and a crappy linear shitastic story. 3 MAIN CHARACTERS!!! WHAT A TWIST!! Get real. I don’t know what made you think I was some kind of nintendo exclusive gamer, but I am not. I Love great games, no matter what platform they are on. But I will say if pokemon x and y dont break all the records set by this shitty game there truly is no hope for humanity. Lets compare this game to the last of us, The last of us had a dynamic story that was fresh. It had good gameplay, fantastic characters and outstanding graphics. It destroys gta V in everysingle possible way, except for content. but it didn’t need content about 17 hours of gameplay and it is still better than this piece of shit!

          • oontz

You’re really comparing Pokemon, or Finial Fantasy to GTA V?

You’re a fucking loser mate. Be hateful all you want towards a companies success. Obviously you’re of the VERY SMALL minority who thinks GTA V is not an amazing game experience. Even other very big name developers (like Hideo Kojima) have praised GTA and Rockstar for what they have achieved with the living, breathing world of Los Santos. Also The Last of us was amazing but is a completely different game then GTA V. It also did extremely well for being a PS3 exclusive.

You’re more than welcome to believe what you want and have your own opinion. But do not for the slightest second feel your opinion is the same way other gamers, developers, media feel. There is a big reason that GTA V is getting the fame and sales it deserves. Why not curb your ego for a minute and play it and enjoy it.)

          • BL4CKSH33P

I compared the sales figures not the games but you can try and curve it which ever way you want. I’m the loser? Have fun pretending to fuck prostitutes, murder, and steal cars, haha. You are a fucking joke.

I never said I thought my opinion was common with anyone, I don’t need to feel like it is either I am not insecure. The minority is small because we don’t follow overrated garbage around hoping to have something in common with someone, we form our own opinion, you can tell when we speak our mind and get nothing but shit from you fucking followers. Like we stepped on your mother fucking toes. I mean you had to confirm your own belief (checking to see if others and important figures agreed) just to feel like your opinion is greater in comparison, when really it doesn’t mean shit.

The game is so worthless you couldn’t even answer me.
You are so fucking dumb you can’t compare two things unless they are exactly the same so lets compare it to openworld third person 3d action games. okay. What does GTA V have to offer that is a unique quality gaming experience compared to watch dogs, saints row the third, sleeping dogs ,Fallout, or red dead redemption even? FUCKING NOTHING!! worthless regurgitated crap.

          • oontz

Ha ha, rage on loser. You’re obviously insecure or you wouldn’t be trying to perpetuate your delusional view about A GAME. It’s not overrated, it’s easily the best game of this generation. If you don’t feel that way… fine, that’s your opinion. But don’t be a pathetic loser and come down on other people for enjoying the experience. I like to see you tell one of the developers from Rockstar (or their family members)… that after putting 5 years of their life into this game they don’t deserve the success from it.

“I know it makes me look somewhat pathetic but I hate to see them do so well. I hate watching people, who don’t deserve to succeed, succeed.”

This is why you FAIL AT LIFE. You think for some reason GTA doesn’t deserve to succeed, when it’s one of the best game experiences. But if one of the franchises you enjoy (like Pokemon) was to do well, then that developer all of a sudden DESERVES the success? What kind of clouded train of thought is that?

I would love to see you put 5 years of your life into something, and after it becomes successful have someone tell you that YOU don’t deserve it. GET OVER YOURSELF.

          • BL4CKSH33P

Once again dodged the questions, and failed to make any valid argument. Only personal attacks. If I was insecure I’d give a shit but guess what. I fucking don’t. It just proves you don’t know shit and you look plain stupid. I wont continue to argue because clearly there is no argument here. Just me being right and you being an idiot. Btw rockstar expected to do less than half as well as they did. They know they don’t deserve it.

          • oontz

Wow you’re still here? The ONLY question you even managed to ask in your verbal explosion was…

“What does GTA V have to offer that is a unique quality gaming experience compared to watch dogs, saints row the third, sleeping dogs ,Fallout, or red dead redemption even?”

            You want an answer?

First Fallout is a FP RPG, not a 3rd person action game. Watch Dogs doesn’t even exist for anyone to play so we can’t exactly compare it with anything can we? Saints row the 3rd and sleeping dogs are budget attempts at trying to recreate the GTA experience (and success), yes they copy the GTA formula (poorly). Red Dead Redemption? You’re going to compare another Rockstar game to a Rockstar game?

I am not going to get sucked into an argument just because you want to quarrel. Like I said if GTA isn’t for you that’s fine. But don’t for the slightest suggest that 5 years of hard work doesn’t deserve to have success. The way you talk undermines the last 5 years of their entire team’s lives. You’re the type of person that’ll bad mouth another employee that gets promoted instead of you, right? You’re a loser and with that attitude always will be.

          • BL4CKSH33P

Yes I am still here, I was here first and I’m not sure if you noticed but you are the one who wanted to “quarrel”.
Okay I fail for adding fallout lol ( not sure what I was thinking) but you still answered just as expected. Saints row one and two were ripoffs of gta, but the third was new and unique and would has nothing to do with gta. Sleeping dogs is far from being a rip of gta, it is a much better game, great combat and action, talented cast of voice actors (including lucy liu, emma stone, tom wilkinson, and will yun lee, and the setting is new to the world of games how many games take place in hong kong? This is gta’s second (or more) time in san andreas!! It was made by united front who has talented people from volition, (Saints row the third), and Rockstar (GTA). It was also in works for 5 years. and published by square fucking enix (united front + square enix) THEY MADE TOMB RAIDER!! nuff said. Great games came out this year that all deserve better sales than gta. Rockstar is a good stuido, but not the best by far, I loved red dead. But they dont deserve shit for regurgitated gta games, tell me when they do something new with that franchise, other than add 2 more main characters. you are so ignorant and insecure its ridiculous.

          • oontz

“Yes I am still here, I was here first and I’m not sure if you noticed but you are the one who wanted to “quarrel”.”

Are you a fucking moron? I originally started this thread and all you’ve ever done was spew hatred towards Rockstar and the success of GTA V. I didn’t ask for you to respond nor did I ask for your shitty opinion, YOU did that on your own and you have the nerve to call me ignorant. Ha ha, get a life.

“Saints row one and two were ripoffs of gta, but the third was new and unique and would has nothing to do with gta.”

They ALL have something to do with GTA because rockstar created the open world sandbox concept with the original GTA series.

“Sleeping dogs is far from being a rip of gta, it is a much better game”

IT IS A COMPLETE RIP OFF OF GTA. It’s about a protagonist that needs to work and complete criminal missions to work his way up the criminal underworld. Sleeping dogs was good (not great), and I enjoyed playing it till the end. But it completely pales in comparison to GTA V. It was buggy as hell and in terms of design, from the scope of the world itself to the NPCs that inhabit it, it’s nothing like GTA. The only thing that was great in Sleeping dogs was the combat, which funny enough was ripped off straight from the Batman Arkham series. Going back to play Sleeping Dog’s now and its world feels completely lifeless after playing GTAV. Simply no comparison.

“This is gta’s second (or more) time in san andreas!!”

That’s an argument? So how many other games take place in similar environments? A LOT. Also look at the shear scope of GTAV compared to the San Andreas of GTA III.3. Here you go… yep clearly just a cut and paste of the San Andreas from PS2.

            http://www.tradeindetectives.com/imagesMCE/GTA_MAP_comparison_sidebyside80percent.jpg

“It was made by united front who has talented people from volition, (Saints row the third), and Rockstar (GTA). It was also in works for 5 years.”

The reason the game (Sleeping Dogs) took so long in development was because it started as an original title, but was announced in 2009 as True Crime: Hong Kong. As a result of the game’s high development budget and delays, it was canceled by Activision Blizzard in 2011. Six months later, it was announced that Square Enix had picked up the publishing rights to the game, renamed Sleeping Dogs, without a relation to True Crime. It’s a surprise it even made it to be released.

“published by square fucking enix (united front + square enix) THEY MADE TOMB RAIDER!! nuff said.”

Ha ha, Tomb Raider which WAS a complete rip off of the Uncharted Series by Naughty Dog.

“Great games came out this year that all deserve better sales than gta.”

Who are you to dictate what materialistic products deserve better sales than others? Obviously you’re of the minority.

“Rockstar is a good stuido, but not the best by far, I loved red dead.”

Their games are some of THE best in the industry. So yeah they’re a bit better than just good.

“But they dont deserve shit for regurgitated gta games”

Yep, that is all GTAV is regurgitated. You can tell what games are regurgitated, they’re games that come out EVERY year with a few new features. Your maddens, and CODs… THOSE are regurgitated. NOT a game that is developed for 5 years and polished into a master piece.

“tell me when they do something new with that franchise, other than add 2 more main characters”

Obviously you haven’t even played the game yet so we’ll leave it at that. It is completely unlike any GTA that came before it.

          • BL4CKSH33P

Commenting on a post opposing opinion or not doesn’t start a “quarrel”. You started it the moment you attacked me for my “shitty opinion”.

Are you serious. Grand theft auto made sandbox popular I agree, rockstar didn’t make shit, they didn’t make the first sandbox game. And even if they did how does that make it a “rip”. are you telling me that every multiplier shooter is a rip of, not the first online shooter, but the most popular, call of duty? Seriously man… wow you made the most obvious connection, but if you do that eventually you could make any unlike thing look similar, The quality of the characters, the story, and the setting are all more authentic, the feature that pops for the game is the action, great mma/kung fu mix, slow motion, environmental attacks its thorough. they even got gsp!! Once again batman was not the first game with a counter system, only made it popular.
And i know the story of true crimes hong kong, how does that take away that it was in development for 5 years??

Tomb raider is a rip of uncharted hahahaha omg, this will probably be the last time i talk to you …oontz? you are dense. Though uncharted is better than gta lol

Is unoriginality not a valid argument to make here? using the same setting twice (bigger and better or not) is unoriginal unless its a direct sequel spin off,or revisit. rockstar made up cities why would they go back to a city its not like they were out of options…

you like that minority word, you must like fitting in and being part ofthe majority huh. makes you feel bigger than you are?? lol, You don’t agree that the team that made the last of us deserves more than the team that made gta v? or the team that made skyrim? or the team hat made bioshock, or animal crossing, or fire emblem, or tales of xillia, or ni no kuni, monster hunter 3 ultimate, tomb raider etc…

I have played it, some of my friends are just as dumb as you. the characters suck, the graphics are kinda good, the world is large but guess what i do, i go around shooting folks just like all the other ones. It’s all anyone really does because we all know the game is shit, but it is fun to be a psycho sometimes.

I’ll tell you this… when fire emblem came out… i wasn’t buzzing around forums all day because I was to into the game, work, game, school, game (hanging out with friends was a drag) so the game can’t be that good, because clearly you have no life and yet here you are instead of in front of your tv set.

      • gusto

“I hate watching people, who don’t deserve to succeed, succeed”.

Holy shit you’re a douche. What makes Rockstar so undeserving of this well earned success? The fact that they worked hard at it? That they delivered a stellar gaming experience and set new standards in the gaming world?

        • BL4CKSH33P

What the fuck are you talking about, tell me of all the standards its setting? Of the innovation? Its undeserving and you’re just a god damn sheep following the heard. you don’t know shit, but continue to pretend that you do.

We can always try with petitions: https://www.change.org/petitions/grand-theft-auto-v-for-wii-u , I already signed

  • Tails the Foxhound

I’ve personally never been able to get into the GTA series, the last game I played extensively was Vice City. So no I wouldn’t buy it. That being said, it would be great for a good chunk of people if it was available.

    • BL4CKSH33P

Same, well vice city was the last I enjoyed, I did play GTA IV, I think it would be good for nintendo but I personally dont give a shit about the game so I voted no.

  • Gabe Storms

I am still holding out for a Wii U announcement, maybe along with PC.
