Famed Nintendo composer Hirokazu Tanaka has remixed two of the most iconic Nintendo theme songs in honor of the passing of Hiroshi Yamauchi, former president of Nintendo. Both Metroid and Super Mario Land were remixed as tributes to Yamauchi, as both are titles Tanaka worked on while Yamauchi was president of the company.
Tanaka worked as an audio producer for Nintendo between 1980 and 1999, producing both original soundtracks. He now works as a chiptune artist. Yamauchi served as president for Nintendo from 1949 to 2002, ushering in the video game revolution and is one of the people directly responsible for how wide-spread video games are today.
