Here’s the most recent week’s worth of Super Smash Bros. screenshots

Here's a look at the most recent batch of screenshots from Super Smash Bros. Wii U development.

peach-link-smash

Every day Super Smash Bros. producer Masahiro Sakurai releases a new screenshot either from the Wii U version or the 3DS version of the game. We’ve taken the time to collect all the most recent screenshots released for the past week for you to check out here. Some of them are highly interesting, such as Princess Peach giving a ring to someone, and Peach, Samus and the Wii Fit Trainer standing together to compare heights.

What do you think of this most recent batch of screenshots? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Marcus Navarro

What’s Princess Peach tryna do? Mario would be the reddest of plumbers if he saw this.

    • http://about.me/overlordror Ashley King

Right? I was highly amused by that screenshot, and the one of Samus, Peach and the Wii Fit trainer lined up doing the mamba.

  • Will (ishigum)

Peach, I don’t think Zelda would appreciate that look you’re giving Link.

  • NextChannelGames

Man Smash Bros. is looking amazing! I would bet it well come out in Fall 2014 or Spring 2015

  • Zeldatrek

Peach: So Link it looks like your princess is in another castle right now, so what you want to do until she’s invited;).

  • Wren Justin Umlauf

Im really excited for this and will probably buy it day 1, but does anyone else thing they could push the graphics a little bit. There’s a lot of jagged edges and a few textures that i think need work. It’s pretty clear that Nintendo is new to HD

    • MetroidZero

I am sure that finishing-touches on the graphics is probably the last thing on their to-do list.

    • Metal_Man_v2

The graphics look great for an anime fighting game, which aren’t typically the same games that players stop and marvel at the beautiful scenery for. Sure the textures on things like Link’s shield and the various characters’ costumes could be improved, but doing so wouldn’t add that much to the visual appeal anyway.

Also keep in mind many of these screenshots are much closer to the characters than what you would experience through normal playing.

      • Wren Justin Umlauf

Your definitly right about it being closer to the characters than normal. I just know the Wii U is capable of more and I’d like to show haters what the Wii U is able to do.

  • Daniel Carvalho

Peach: “So, I heard you like rescuing princesses…”

Then she sees Luigi:”DAMN! DID HE SEE ME HITTING ON LINK?!”

    • Merrfn

Luigi: “No. So you were hitting on link?”

      Peach: “SON OF A BITCH!”

  • MetroidZero

Can’t wait for the next character reveal. The pics this past week were comical but not jaw-dropping.

  • Keyser

As much as I’d like to know what’s going on between Peach and Link, I think the real question is this: What the fuck is she doing to the Wii Fit Trainer?

    • Deadpool U

      I wouldn’t know.

  • http://twitch.tv/dve2k DVE

I can’t wait to see this in motion on my TV Next YEAR :O

  • Deadpool U

As much as I love screenshots I wish we could get news about Megaman’s final smash or if Sonic is coming back or not.
    Or a release date.

HAHA! As others already said, peach looks very much in love with link and link reacts like in OoT WHAAAAAAHHHH! *Runs away* but when I get the game I know for sure Peach while get a whopping from me playing Zelda (assuming Zelda is also playable)

  • Alex

this console is ready for nextgen ? LOL

    • TULFich

the scenario from below is the same model used as in skyward sword, so I´m not that surprised to see some low Q textures in some of the stages

    • Will (ishigum)

You need to talk to the mipmap guy about that. That has nothing to do with the console.

    • 00EpicGamer00

You ready for English class? LOL!

And uhh….the point you’re trying to make here, doesn’t make much sense. First of all, you didn’t take in consideration what game the stage is based off of!

Second of all, that’s just ONE stage that has a “texture issue.” I honestly have no idea what the problem is, it looks fine to me. I think you might need some new glasses. You’re starting to see things that aren’t there.

Third of all, if you’re trying to fight over “nextgen,” then why put Xbox footage here? Why not Xbox one? Seems you forgot the main point of your argument.

And to answer your question, “yes.” The Wii U is ready for “next gen.” Please refer to Pikmin 3 (to me, it appears to be the most powerful game, graphically, on the Wii U so far) if you think the Wii U is not a powerful console.

      • Merrfn

I doubt he understood any of that. He is learning English as his second language I believe, as he mainly posts on IGN Italia fluently.

Now as for your argument itself, it is flawed. You are arguing against a troll here. You took the bait, therefore your argument is invalid by default.

        Have a nice day ;)

        • 00EpicGamer00

          It’s still fun :P

          • Merrfn

Still, don’t waste your time with logical, well thought out and written arguments.

The trolls want you to rage, or leave an intellectual response.

    • Fuzunga

That’s like saying the Textures in Wind Waker HD are bad. They’re supposed to look like that. It’s the style of the game.

    • MetroidZero

I do not know about that. Nintendo might be generations ahead:

    • Jacob D. Taylor

Yeah… the spot you circled in Smash Bros is about 1/4 the size of that gals foot. It may not look like a huge jump but take into consideration the xbox photo is actual size and the smash bros photo is about 5-8 times zoomed in from actual gameplay.

    • Sealed by the Holy Spirit

If the keep keeps outselling every next gen CoD and Battlefield game, they are doing something right.

  • Zuxs13

I hope these are just early early screen shots. I know they can do better just look at the fruit in pikmin 3

    • MetroidZero

That is exactly what it is: early, early screen shots.

      • Zuxs13

unfortunately I doubt they will change much.

  • Merrfn

I am stuck in a vicious cycle of hype I cant break. I see the screenshots and am hyped. I forget about it in a couple of days. Then at the end of the week I get hyped again.

I don’t like this mind control smash bros has over me…

  • Moreck

    The close-up details are great!

  • MetroidZero

    Inb4 Ashley makes the post:

  • Deezy

Does this mean that Peach is the main star of the latest SSB game? Watch out Peach, Zelda wants your crown, and her man back! =O

  • Deezy

Really tho, Princess Peach got earrings that are the size of Uranus (>O_o)>

  • Deezy

I have to do one more:

  • Aleks

Kinda gettin’ burned out being teased with pics EVERYDAY, of a game we wont be playing for, im betting, 6+ monthes! Its almost offensive. “Hey!, look what we wont release until we have nothing else going on”.

  • Skelterz

Princess Peach Is The Worst FEMALE In Smash Bros Period…

    • 00EpicGamer00

      No, I’d say jigglypuff is.

  • Jacob D. Taylor

I didn’t care for these pics. I love the introduction for Toon Link but all of those before were a little blahzeh for me. I like relevant posts like showing quirks and differences in the game. The height one was ok. I LOVED Luigi’s new jump being similar to NSLU and other such posts. Details on characters and stages, not just ‘funny’ pictures.

  • Sealed by the Holy Spirit

Peach giving Link that come hither look!
