Off topic, but does anyone know how to get your Nintendo Network ID on the 3DS?

Edit: I just got a 3DS(used; already has a profile on it) and I have no idea what I’m doing. Help would be appreciated.

    • Mario

      That’s not possible yet.

      • Marcus Navarro

DAMNIT!!!! Well, is it at least possible that you can make another account on the 3DS?

        • Michael Pullar

          not possible either…

          • AlThor

Same boat, on the plus side, migrated mario kart 7 from original owners memory card to my own memory card!

          • Marcus Navarro

So, in a nutshell, you can’t make another account and each 3DS is tied to a certain friend code, right? Can you at least change your Mii?

Edit: Can you change the user name, avatar, and edit the profile?

          • Ducked

You can make more then one account, and change your Mii at anytime.

          • Marcus Navarro

            How?

          • Ducked

On Mii characters just touch “Hit Mii characters, then just edit.
To create a new Mii, just create one.

On account, you can’t create two, but you can edit the username.

          • AlThor

Sorry, haven’t explored those options on my 3ds. Have set it up on my WiiU but that was a new purchase…

        • Mario

          Yeah. I guess.

    • Maxwell Baumgarten

      Reset the device

    • Arthur Jarret

You can just edit the mii within the profile to your liking. Make sure to check the eshop for any games the previous owner bought, so you can download them for free.

  • aldo2410

Looks like tons of fun, but I’m saving my money for DK: Tropical freeze

    • Ducked

      All of it?

      • aldo2410

Most of my money is for DK, I´m also saving for a 3DS

        • Ducked

          Oh, gotcha. Which one?

          • aldo2410

3DS XL, I really wanted the pokemon X/Y bundle but I don´t know if it’s still avaliable, I will have to wait for another game bundle

          • Ducked

It comes out in North America on September 27th. Unless you live in the UK?

          • aldo2410

My friend told me that there are no more reserves avaliable, if there’s any left I will have to sell my dog just to get one.

          • Ducked

Last time I checked they were still available. I would strive to check every website possible for it, they really are gorgeous 3DS’s.

          • aldo2410

I hope I can get enough money

          • Ducked

Hopefully there be out until Pokemon X/Y comes out

  • Mike A

Wow 80 mini games plus Wii U remote bundle. what a deal compare to Game & Wario which only have 12 single player mini games…I had no intentions of buying Wii Party U but this is a deal I can’t refuse.

    • Ducked

Its a Wii remote, not a Wii U remote.

      • makkan

the same thing it would be unnecessary to make a wii u remote too

        • Ducked

Then why did Nintendo make Wii U remotes if they weren’t going to use them..

          • Chris Wells

All remotes sold now have motion plus in them now. Ever since the Wii U came out they started selling motion plus controllers with Wii U stamped on the bottom. Thats the only difference. Only way you should be able to get a remote without motion plus in it is online sites or used

          • Ducked

Oh, well that clears things up.

      • Lusunup

wii u remote are considered the motion plus in my opinion.

        • Ducked

Wii U remotes have motion plus, don’t really know the difference

          • Lusunup

I’m really confused.. you said it was not a Wii U remote it’s a wii remote unless you were try to state me then Im okay with that.. but I was justing saying that the motion plus remotes are basically considered wii u remotes because you can use them on any wiiu game the supports wiimotes while if you have a wiimote (orginal) you can’t use them in all the wii u games like for instance Nintendo land doesn’t really support wii remotes on some occasions like samus, and zelda attractions.

          • Arthur Jarret

But you cant use the normal wii remote in some wii games like skyward sword, wii sports resort, flingsmash and red steel either. Your argument is moot. Also, nintendo calls it a Wii remote themselves, and not a u remote – so the original commenters point of it not being called a wii u remote was entirely valid.

          • Ducked

You don’t understand, it comes with a wii remote with motion plus. Nintendo made a Wii U remote, when it’s basically the same as a Wii remote with motion plus. When I’m talking about wii remote, I mean motion plus in it. Don’t jump to an argument if you don’t know whats going on.

          • rp17

Nintendo didn’t make a Wii U remote. They just put a Wii U logo on some of the Wii Motion Plus controller boxes. The controllers still have just a Wii logo on them and are no different than the Wii Motion Plus.

          • Ducked

Thank you, but someone already told me that. lol

          • rp17

Yeah i know, but he said they had wii u on them. They don’t. It’s just the box

          • Ducked

I actually just noticed that when I looked at the picture.

          • Arthur Jarret

Erm… I commented based on your comment ‘Its a Wii remote, not a Wii U remote’. I agreed with this.

I know quite well what’s going on. I just simply commented on people calling the Wii remote with motion plus a Wii U remote.

You know, to avoid further confusion…

            I’m confused now, though.

          • Ducked

            You just confused me

          • Arthur Jarret

I have that effect on people. Don’t worry – you’ll get used to it.

          • Ducked

            Okay lol

          • Ducked

I was saying it includes a wii remote. I was wondering why Nintendo made a Wii U remote, when like you said, it basically is a wii remote with motion plus. Because I don’t know the difference. I probably just confused myself as well. I guess we agree on the motion thing? I guess as long as it has motion its good enough for wii u

      • http://www.facebook.com/ericazure Azure

        Your ducked up…

        • Ducked

Have to admit, that’s a clever insult

    • Ernie Sanguyo

Yeah plus that wiimote plus cost like 40 usd so yeah pretty good deal for sure.

    • Magnus Eriksson

I could see myself getting this for the fam. At least if its good. The problem is that most party games of this kind often sucks. Mario Party 8 was really shit for example.

      • BIG Franky

FWIW, i have the original Wii Party and it is a HUGE hit at my house….. we have a 7 & 9 year old and my wife hates video games (and anythign that has to do with video games, LOL)…. yet even she still loves Wii Party and the four of us play it often…. lots of laughs and lots of fun. I highly recommend for families… we’re all over this.

      • Mike A

I have Mario Party 9 and it’s also the shits but my son loves it. Rabbids Land is another game of this kind that sucks. However, I also agree with BIG Franky that like the original wii party this one will also be lots of laughs and fun for the whole family; which is the main target audience for this game.

        • Magnus Eriksson

Ah, MP9 was bad too? Heard it was way better than the 8. Never tried this series though, but it looks fun :)

          • Mike A

MP9 was garbage and I have to sit and play the boring game because my 5 yr old son loves it. I don’t know your situation but if you’re a single adult and have no kids than there are few reasons if any to buy games that consist of mini games.

Another reason I like them is my wife is not a gamer but she loves titles such as Wii Sports Resort. There’re great for causal gamers because they require little if any skills and a few titles are pretty fun. Anyways, I’m sure you know all this and I’m just preaching to the choir.

          • Magnus Eriksson

Yeah, im a dad of two and got a semi gaming wife. But she is mostly into Zombie games and Zelda. :)

          • Arthur Jarret

This guy named link is mostly into zelda too…
(insert ‘link or it didn’t happen’ type joke here)

By the way, which games aren’t zombie games nowadays?

    • aldo2410

And a Wii U gamepad stand for some of the new games

  • Jack5221

Buying this because Nintendo always comes out with the best mini games. Plus free remote!

    • Magnus Eriksson

Mario Party 8? Actually had some discs wit showelware minigames for my Wii. The only good one was really Wii Sports when I think of it.

      • Jack5221

Wii Party, Wii Sports / sports resorts were all really good. I enjoyed them all. All the Mario party games are really good too, except number 9. Being forced to move together as a group in a car was just plain stupid.

        • Magnus Eriksson

9 is worse than 8? Kind of heard the opposite.

      • Josiah Parsons

I actually though MP8 was great!

        • 00EpicGamer00

          I as well :)

MP8 isn’t the absolute BEST Mario Party game, but it’s not the worst either. I had lots of fun with 8. I think MP9 is the worst :P

The only thing I liked about 9 was the boss fights, those were VERY unique and cool. But other than that, the game was pretty bad. It seemed like Nintendo rushed a bit to get that game out to the public. I don’t know, at certain times, it felt unfinished.

          • Josiah Parsons

I really don’t know why they made another wii mario party.

  • Ducked

It’s not Mario Party 10, but it should be a pretty awesome party game.

    • Ken Seymour

they haven’t made a good Mario party since part 5 in my opinion. They need to do a Mario party compilation of all boards and mini games from Nintendo 64 and gamecube or go back to old style Mario party. 8 and 9 were horrible.

      • Lusunup

No doubts, They will bring back the games we want, just look at everything they done till this point, wii was casual some games that were suppose to be good got boring fast, now wiiu is a juristical change! to hardcore Super Mario bros U,plus Luigi U very frustratingly good :) ,Super smash bros is much more faster than brawl mechanics,Bayonetta 2, Wonderful101, WindWakerHD was brought back from the gamecube with an even harder mode (hero mode),Monolith soft X,Nintendo land mutiplayer courses frustrating and harder the further in you go, Pikmin 3 Minigames very challenging. So bring back the old mario party is very likely to happen Nintendo is back and stronger than ever!

      • Ducked

I agree, last good Mario Party game was 5. But I think Nintendo will get it right with it on the Wii U

  • SonicLucario

Ill have to see how this game is befor I buy it because theres so many games coming out its awesome :)

  • Lusunup

Preorder hands down comes with over 80 mini games that uses the gamepad like never before, comes with a stand, and a wiimote plus, only 50 bucks!, does microsoft and sony every do that!?! oh Nintendo how you spoil us!:)

    • TULFich

Was that sarcasm? these days on the internet one never knows

      • Lusunup

        No, no it was not.

        • gamesplayswill

          It… really… really… isn’t.

    • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

This game looks even better than the original! :D

      • Arthur Jarret

I remember visiting family and as a ‘gamer’ being forced to play that game where someone must hide the wiiremote and other players must find it with my 5-year old nephew and 6-year old niece…

The reason why I wait until it’s marked down to a tenner before buying the original XD

        I wish nintendo would stop it… :P

  • The Clockwork Being

This seems like the replacement for Mario Party for the time being.

    • Yousif Alromaithi

Unless they make the new Mario Party games which introduces new ideas for the game pad uses. This is in turn makes the game pad more than just a map.

  • A SNES Day Off

Jeebers – WHY wasn’t this title made available for the Wii U’s launch? It puts Nintendo Land to shame, and actually demonstrates what makes the Game Pad unique.

  • only god can judge me

Look s like tons of fun however,i will be buying ghosts, mario 3dworld,tropical freeze ,watchdog, and assassins creed.I have a feeling in 2014 the wii u will have its best year .

  • Merrfn

I just hope they sell it as a game… rather then the approach they took with Wii sports club.

    • Marcus Navarro

Maybe they’re testing the waters for the purchase of Capcom?

      • Merrfn

If Nintendo buy Capcom it would be fantastic! Of course upper management would have to get fired, and Capcom would need to ditch the DLC money obsession.

        Capcom restored to beauty!

        • Marcus Navarro

Exactly. Not to mention Nintendo putting out more of Capcom’s IPs that they don’t use. WE NEED A POWER STONE 3, DAMNIT!!!!

          • Petri

Maybe good Resident Evil game for a change?
By that I mean returning the game to its survival horror roots.
If they want to make 3rd person action shooter, they can, and it could be great every once in a while, but not as a main game.

Having played Resident Evil 6 and “the return of the regular zombies”, I realized it was not the zombies that were missing, but actually the survivor horror element, which Revelations kinda got right.

          • Marcus Navarro

Yes, yes and more yes. Take my upvote!

The 1st time I’ve legitimately been scared at a video game was Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Such a great game. I just want that game with RE4 controls and play it with the Wii Remote+Nunchuck. Perfection.

          • Yousif Alromaithi

RE4 hands down best game Resident Evil. The best game ever came on Gamecube once part 5 was made the series went down hill. Part 4 was innovative and an adventure. The game was a bit scary but awesome.

          • Marcus Navarro

I preferred RE3:N, but only because I prefer the more complex games. RE4 is simplicity done well, but RE3:N was much more of a challenge.

          • Yousif Alromaithi

            Three was a challenge indeed.

          • aldo2410

Those where the good old times

          • Yousif Alromaithi

Nintendo can bring it back for sure. They revived many dead JRPG and defunct companies if Nintendo wanted to revive Chrono they could but the problem is that the game is under Square jurisdictions.

        • Daniel Gonzalez

It’s always nice to dream. I’d rather they not buy them off cause I’d prefer most of Capcom’s games be multi plat with the exception of some exclusives.

          • Merrfn

SEGA then. I just want a company to restore Capcom to there pre penny pinching DLC ways.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Sega is fine. They have a good relationship with all three console manufacturers so I can live with that.

          • Merrfn

I really don’t want to see Capcom die, but unless a company buy them, they are dead. I would also like the money hungry idiots at Capcom to be fired.

      • Veries Seals

ummm did I miss something is there talk of Capcom selling itself?

        • Marcus Navarro

          Speculation on my part.

          • Veries Seals

I like that kind of speculation. i hope nintendo would buy them.

  • Clel

I swear, the only things J.K. reports on are Wii (insert something here) U and Wind Waker HD, sprinkled with a few ‘NINTENDO IS DOOMED!!!’ articles here and there.

  • jreed3842

My family cannot wait for this. They LOVE Wii Party… So this is a must buy!

  • Boss Hoss

I don’t want another worthless wii series title I WANT F-ZERO DAMNIT!

    • MetroidZero

      F-Zero in HD = EPIC!

      • Veries Seals

This is true, I still want Wii Party U too though, but F-Zero and a New Starfox and Metroid would be epic. Believe it or not I think we will see them.

        • Arthur Jarret

They already stated in 2012 there will be a metroid for wii u. I’d prefer F-zero, though. Get SEGA involved again, because GX/AX was the best one.

I’d also like a new 1080 and Waverace… not to mention a new chibi robo, which could use the touchscreen well.

          • Wiiluigi

A new Chibi-robo would be awesome but only like the first one.

          • ICHI

1080, FZero and Waverace are 3 of my top 5 Nintendo games and none of them got any wii love. I’m dying for new games in their series, but hearing people at Nintendo say things like there is nothing new they can bring to the games, so they don’t know how to make a sequel, makes me a bit baffled and disappointed. Just add new tracks, new visuals and physics and competitive online and your sorted!

          • Arthur Jarret

I agree with this – competitive online races would be a major addition to these series. Enough to warrant sequels.

1080 Multiplayer racing – giving whoever is first a yodel move under one of the buttons that can cause avalanches to bury anyone lagging behind (or give them a speed boost if they can stay ahead of them – making the move a double-edged sword)

Waverace would be awesome online… and the wiiU’s power could create proceduraly generated waves to really ensure no race is even remotely alike. I’m afraid that if this gets a sequel it’ll get the pilotwings resort treatment, though… no miis in this franchise please! (unless it’s an unlockable like in mario kart… that’d be ok…)

F-zero: Bring back the track editor (this would rock on the touch screen) and give us online sharing & racing on tracks – as well as custom cups that people can make – combining home-made and unlocked-by-playing cups tracks.

They could also add a point system that adds 100 points each month – allowing you to either pay a fee for custom-made cups of others as well as time trials and compete to win first place (and points – depending on place). Of course, time trial leaderboards and total point leaderboards should be present.

The point system could also be used to bet on online races of others – with the profit % depending on that players amount of wins & losses. that way, on a lazy day – you can just spend your time watching races instead of playing them.

erm… sorry for ranting. As I came up with this from the top of my head – I call BS on their statement that they can’t add anything to these series.

          • ICHI

Totally agree dude! It’s total bull! Loving some of the ideas too and like you said these are just off the top of your head. If ninty made a bloody team, then who knows what they could do.

          • Veries Seals

            Totally agree!

    • CMB

I like wii party but I only thumb up because of F ZERO!!

  • Antar Rodríguez

this might be a negative comment but nintendo should really focus their efforts in new ip´s not this kinda games, xenoblade worked, pikmin worked, they should do more elaborated games like these ones , not to mention they should bring back nintendos hitters like metroid, starfox or f-zero

    • ICHI

Well Myamoto said Retro was high up the list of possible devs for a metroid wii u game this week. And it’s been previously noted shigsy is working on a new IP as well as obviously the new xenoblade being on the way. All you have to complain about is star fox and FZero, which both really do need sequels but out of both I think we will see star fox before FZero :-(

      • Antar Rodríguez

yeha, well i meant to have some new ip´s like watch dogs or some kind of realistic game, there is no harm on venturing into that, besides it would start attracting all that people that stupidly think nintendo is just for kids

        • ICHI

I know what you mean, I know retro were working on an rpg when they began on metroid prime, apparently it was a bit middle of the road but it was very early in development and looked like it showed promise. It’s these kinds of ideas that never got made which could be turned into something new and fresh. I would love another disaster day of crisis too!

  • david jarman

I am so getting this. I love games I can have fun with my whole family!!!!!

  • Adrian

I am not a fan of the naming schemes Nintendo comes up with. I’d prefer “Wii U Party”…but oh well.

  • Wiiluigi

Already preordered mine way before they announced it would come with wiimote and stand. Can’t wait. Does this come with a sleeve?

  • TrueWiiMaster

Since the retail version of Wii Party U is $50 with a Wii Remote Plus, will it be cheaper on the eshop?

  • david jarman

I can’t wait to play this with my family during the holidays!!!!!!

  • Shaise

I know this is off topic! But would you guys like to sign this petition for Pikmin 3 to have a DLC! Think about it! For some of you, story mode was short. There could be more missions, more enemies & bosses! Along with more areas of PNF-404 to explore!

    Heres the link!

    http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/nintendo-make-a-pikmin-3-dlc-with-more-story-mode-bingo-battle

  • e_rocket

this one looks really good, I want it!!!!

  • Josiah Parsons

Who else would rather have Wii Play U? Or was that Nintendoland?

  • fish A.I
