Hometown Story for Nintendo 3DS is releasing on October 22, along with a cute plush for physical copies.

For those of you who enjoy classic Harvest Moon gameplay, you’ll be happy to know that series creator Yasuhiro Wada has a new game headed to Nintendo 3DS tomorrow called Hometown Story. Instead of running a farm and taking care of a small town of people, you’re given a run down shop where you must buy and sell items, similar to Recettear: An Item’s Shop Tale.

Of course there’s more to the story here and that’s something you’ll have to experience through playing the game, but for fans of JRPGs with underlying stories and quirky mechanics, your Nintendo 3DS library is about it get a bit fuller. The physical release for the game also includes the above plush, which is pretty cute in its own right.

Will you be picking this one up?

I’ve never heard of this game, but you already have me interested. Where can I learn more? How much is it?

    • Landesca

It’s $40 and if you search youtube for it, you can find videos.

Looks interesting, it’s no Final Fantasy or Fire Emblem, but plush toys are awesome!

so… as you said, it is similar to Recettear: An Item’s Shop Tale, Does that mean you also have a stupid deadline to make payments like that game did? If it doesn’t have that annoying bit, I may actually look into buying this :)

I’m not sure about any deadline like in Recettear, which was annoying. I’m going to pick this one up in a few days, so perhaps I’ll review it. :)
