Ubisoft delays Watch Dogs until Spring 2014

watch-dogs-header

Today Ubisoft has announced that it’s multi-platform open-world action game has been delayed on all platforms until Spring 2014. The title was supposed to launch on November 19th in North America, but now the title has been delayed. The official press release from Ubisoft states that they want to deliver an experience that embodies what the company considers next-gen gaming.

“Our ambition from the start with Watch_Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decision to delay the release until Spring 2014.”

“We know a lot of you are probably wondering ‘why now?’ We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality.

“As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.”

This is a surprising move from Ubisoft considering the game was only a month away from release, but this is not the first time we’ve seen such delays, as many Wii U fans will remember Rayman Legends. Just be thankful that all versions are being delayed, rather than just the Wii U version.

Damn it! That was the game I preordered for PS4!

But, on a more Nintendo note, this is another game people can’t get for Christmas…

    • http://about.me/overlordror Ashley King

Same here. I’m bummed because I only have AC4 pre-ordered for PS4 now, but it’s not like it’s the first time I will have bought a console at launch with one game.

      • John Andalora

Luckily I have a backup. I just preordered Knack, so I’ll at least have something while I’m waiting for other games in the launch window.

I might also get Killzone too.

Hope AC4 is a lot of fun!

        • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

i have my preorder for wii u

          • John Andalora

Cool. Hope you like it! Should be a really fun game!

    • wober2

a little curious what looks good for the ps4 launch nowadays?

      • John Andalora

On launch day I’m going for Knack. I might also get Killzone: Shadowfall sometime after, and I’ve been saving myself to get Madden 25 until PS4. I’m also interested in Warframe, Wat Thunder and PS+ Drive Club.

As for launch window, Deep Down, Flower, infamous: Second Son, Octodad, PlanetSide 2, and The Witness should hopefully prove to be a lot of fun.

        • wober2

oh octodad looks hilarious, i loved the first one…

          • John Andalora

Never played the first one, but the second one looks hilarious. Can’t wait to get it!

          • wober2

first one did not have much polish but the concept and the controls were just soo funny.

        • JB

You’re way ahead of me. I still haven’t really decided what I want on either system yet. With the XBOX One, more than likely Madden 25, Dead Rising 3 and Killer Instinct. For the PS4, Maybe Knack? Killzone Shadowfall looks good, but I’m getting burnt out on FPS. I haven’t decided on if I want AC4 on the U or PS4 yet.

          • wober2

I am with you on this i cannot decide on either ps4 and xbox one. I am excited for titan fall and witcher wild hunt, so i might be leaning slightly toward xbone. I just really cannot afford either this fall.

          • http://about.me/overlordror Ashley King

The Witcher 3 is coming to PS4, btw. I know the second game was exclusive to Xbox 360, but CD Projekt RED have confirmed it as a multi-plat title.

          • wober2

I had no idea, i thought it was xbone and pc… Well awesome one tick closer to ps4.

          • John Andalora

Titanfall looks awesome! Can’t wait for it on Xbox 360!

          • wober2

Well shit… I thought that was an exclusive for xbone. loco-cycle? seems like ps4 is the way to go until there is an amazing halo title…

          • John Andalora

The Titanfall website has preorders for it on Xbox 360. I hope they’re still making it!

          • JB

Titanfall was one that really caught my interest, and I forgot about The Witcher, is that one a launch title? I can’t remember, I might have to get that on the PS4. Though I’m talking about getting all these games and don’t have nearly enough time to play through them. I still need to finish Wind Waker, Pikmin and The Wonderful 101. LOL

          • John Andalora

I must say that Dead Rising 3 and Killer Instinct look very good.

As for Killzone: Shadowfall, I’m really hoping it’s like Mercenary on the Vita: very slow, methodical, and at your own pace was very well done. Hope that continues.

Can’t tell you if AC4 is better on either console. I don’t honestly know what AC does with the GamePad. Could be good. I’m sure other people might have a more stable argument for either.

          • JB

I may rent both, just to see which one I like better before committing. On one hand, I want to show Ubisoft that the Wii U has support, but I also want the definitive version of the game as well.

          • John Andalora

Understandable. I showed my support with Rayman Legends, but i’m just not a massive AC4 fan to get it.

Based on DLC and something about “wind and waves simulations,” it seems the most realistic would be the PS4 version.
            http://n4g.com/news/1310352/ubisoft-explains-ps4-version-of-assassins-creed-4-will-have-superior-waves-and-wind-simulation

Not sure of Wii U. All I know is that it’ll be out about 2 weeks earlier on Wii U.

  • DeedsGaming .

Kind of predictable, due to the lack of game footage updates they’ve released.

  • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

Well that sucks. This game was on my short list of games I really wanted to play this holiday season.

    • Jack5221

Same! 1st Donkey Kong, and now Watch Dogs. On the bright side… Im saving a little bit of money.

  • The Clockwork Being

There goes one of the most expected games of 2014. But sure why not get Watch Dogs in Spring. With Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 coming out in Spring, it will obviously not be forgotten and overshadowed on Wii U right? /sarcasm

Ubisoft shouldn’t be delaying this game really. People will loseinterest in this game on all consoles. PS4 gamers will be getting new gamesduring the whole year, same for XboxOne gamers. Smash Bros and Mario Kart will overshadow everything coming out in Spring. But ill still be interested it’s just that Smash Bros and Mario Kart have top priority for me and a lot of people.

But still a rushed game is forever bad but a delayed game can be good, something like that. -Miyamoto

    • babulibaba

it doesnt say anywhere that smash bros is coming out in spring
      im expecting a fall release

      • The Clockwork Being

During the Nintendo Direct it said it was Spring 2014 and the same for Mario Kart

        • babulibaba

they said mk8 would release spring of 2014
for smash bros they just said it would release in 2014

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Yeah, but that’s if there is no more delays, which is possible for Smash and MK8.

        • JB

I wouldn’t be surprised if they moved one of those games to the summer, if anything for spreading out their releases. With DK, being the late winter offering, MK, being a spring release and Smash being the summer release.

  • Lil J Moore

Making it good is a good thing

    • wober2

i hope they have time to add micro-transactions!

      • Lil J Moore

        ????

  • Michael DeVore

Good, these “Open World” games have been overly glitchy of late. Skyrim PS3 was unplayable without an SSD, and GTA V is glitchy based on how you install it, or if you downloaded it. These aren’t the standard ha ha funny glitches, but rather the game is unplayable glitches. If Ubisoft is taking additional time to work things out, great.

I had been considering buying it but waiting until after launch to see if it was unacceptably glitchey on some systems or not before buying. Now I have a bit more confidence in the product.

    • JBeauregard

I agree with you . Most recently my issues were with GTA 5. It’s a beautiful looking game, but one of the glitchiest I’ve ever played. I ended up selling it because I was frustrated. I’m all for Ubi taking the time so I can enjoy the game instead of focusing on fixes.

      • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

sorry, what you guys mean with glitchiest

        • Michael DeVore

Skyrim for the PS3 becomes literally unplayable, and for emphasis I’m not using literally incorrectly. After a few hours of play the game starts to rely on the PS3 hard drive for Virtual Memory. This starts to cause weird lag that progressively gets worse as you play. If you have a SSD instead of a HDD the game can be played without much of an issue until it hits the 2 Gig Virtual Memory limit and just hard crashes. You can find lots of example on youtube by just searching for ps3 skyrim unplayable lag but here is one example http://youtu.be/ADdRpw-_z6w

You’ll notice it’s not the Ha Ha Lady feel though the world, or Ha Ha Giant golfed me to the moon glitches, but rather, this game is unplayable and should be recalled.

GTA V is getting similar bugs but it’s due to it streaming from the Optical Drive and Hard Drive at the same time. It gives a better bandwidth to load textures, but if you fully install the game, or buy it digitally then it can’t get a performance boost by streaming off the disc. This causes weird pop-in issues, and ruins the game experience. The game should never have been offered via Digital, and should not have had the option to fully install the game. If you bought it digitally hopefully you upgraded the PS3 HDD to Solid State, or got the fastest HDD you could find because the stock HDD are the slow 5400 RPM models.

          • YogiGRB

now i understand why after a while my skyrim locks and freezes on my play3. thx for the info about that

      • Rich Garriques

you sold gta v wow fail

        • JBeauregard

It’s a fail only when you lack the information to understand why I got rid of it. I could deal with the small things, but it all came to a tipping point when I’m more than halfway through the game and all of a sudden story missions disappear. I wasn’t able to progress in the story at all. I even stopped being able to be any character besides Franklin. got in touch with Rockstar, and went through all of the troubleshooting suggestions. Nothing worked. Know what they told me to do next? Erase all game and save data and start from the beginning. Eh, no thanks! I sold my copy to a buddy and have been rocking WWHD ever since!

          • darkcreap

Are you serious? Was it so bad? I can’t believe it. I mean, I do, but it sounds incredible. Are more people having your same problems?

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Nah. Just some have it from what I know. Works fine on my PS3. I think his problem might of been a hardware issue. I know some people who have the problem, but noticed its due to them having an older ps3.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

You sold it cause of some glitches, which exist in just about every game? Lol. Might as well trade all your games in. GTA V didn’t really have many glitches far as I can see. Only major problem with it is GTA Online, but that will be sorted once things stablize online. Storymode din’t have that many. I think you’re exaggerating. :)

        • Michael DeVore

Given that Rockstar support confirms the issue it’s hardly a “minor” issue.

          https://twitter.com/RockstarSupport/status/379493174768439296

If you want the game to run correctly don’t buy the DLC version, or Fully install the game.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I have mine installed, and had no issue with it. It varies from person to person. What DLC version? There is none. Lol. I think you meant digital version.

        • Lil J Moore

I don’t blame him for it. I sold Fallout new Vegas and Skyrim the first two days I got it because of bugs.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Waste of money I call it. Though, I don’t see that with GTA V. Best game I’ve played this year.

          • Lil J Moore

I haven’t gotten into that much because of Tales of Xilla, and WWHD. (I’m a big RPG guy) Now With me getting X finally GTVA and the last of us MP are getting sat down for a while. I’ve only played about 2 hrs of GTAV so far.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Your loss is my gain in this case. RPG games aren’t for me.I never had the patience for them I guess. My brother is a bigger rpg fan than I.

          • Lil J Moore

For the games. If glitches and bugs like my game freezing all the time happens it takes me out of the game and I lose interest in it. No point of letting it sit there and I’m not gonna play it. Plus I got my money back.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I can never get bored with some games like GTA V. It sucks to suffer from glitches, however, they get fixed with patches. Only problem I had was GTA Online, but of course that was cause of millions trying to get online at once. I admit, that was frustrating.

          • JBeauregard

I was saying it was one if the best games is played this year, too, but when you soil the experience with issues that they claimed wouldn’t be patchable then I need to move on. Also, it’s only a waste of money if you’re on a budget lol

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Nah, budget or not, it’s a waste. Lol. You buy it, you lose money. It’s pretty much the same thing. :P

Also, there have been patches for it, so they gave you misinformation. As patches release, the game will stabilize. Even if it did happen to me, I have the patience to wait a little for patches to fix it.

          • JBeauregard

Whatever. I have enough money that losing 10 bucks isn’t an issue lol and I trust Rockstars phone conversations over your assumption that there would be a fix. The only thing left in the game for me to do was… Nothing lol I could only drive around. I did all of Franklins personal missions. To each their own. I’m glad you’re enjoying it, though. My brother has xbox and hasn’t had many issues at all. I was on PS3.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I have it on PS3. Lol. Never had one issue with it. Maybe it has to do with having an older ps3? Mine is a ps3 slim. Besides, there are patches to fix it now, so I guess that unfortunate for you. I am enjoying it and I’m glad I bought it and waited out Online as well. I do recommend revisiting it in the future, you’ll miss out on a great game. :)

        • Jacob D. Taylor

Wow. Again. He said glitchiest not ‘having a sole glitch’ Really Daniel stop badgering people about respecting YOUR OPINION when you are so far past incapable of doing the same.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Flirting with me will get you nowhere. I’m taken.

        • JBeauregard

Daniel, you fail to understand that even if your game isn’t an issue for you, others may be having problems. You may also not notice them. It all came to a tipping point when I was more than halfway through the game and all of a sudden story missions disappear.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Or perhaps you’re picky. Lol. I always keep an eye on my games. I never saw anything that would make me sell my game for a game that I once played a decade ago. People told me to buy WWHD and I said no thanks! I have been rocking on GTA V ever since!

          • JBeauregard

Meh, you just sound like an opinionated ass who believes only their thoughts to be true. Good luck with that!

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Actually, I was only copycatting you if you took the time to notice that instead of getting upset over it. Never judge a book by its cover. Perhaps you take things too serious. If me having fun is being opinionated, then you have some issues or lack a sense of humor. Cheer up!

In all seriousness, the same can be said about you. Don’t call the kettle black Mr. Pot. We all are opinionated by nature, that’s why we are all on this site. :)

    • Rich Garriques

really gta v glitchy? i dont think so iv never had a single problem with gta v at all whatsoever since i got it for my ps3 i installed it and not one problem it might have something to do with my 500 gb hard drive i got earlier in the year. but it plays perfectly.

      • Michael DeVore

Any upgrade off of the 5400 rpm 1.5Gbps, or usually less, SATA stock drive would improve your experience. Your drive is most likely a 7200RPM 3.0Gbps drive at the minimum because finding the old 5400rpm 1.5 that usually comes with it is hard to buy at retail. Which means your drive can saturate the SATA connection without hitting it’s maximum performance.

Personally I wish the latest generation supported RAID 0 with 2 or 3 drives. Drive speed has been the latest bottle neck in gaming over the last few years and that’s one way to allow for improvements without a lot of upfront cost. 3 of the old drives stripped would blow 1 of the the newer drives out of the water. Heck, they’d be faster than most SSD because a single SSD can only saturate 1 connection.

    • Flamingoathere

Never had any problems with Skryim on the PS3 other than the backwards flying dragon of bonestrewn crest, which was something everyone encountered prior to the patch. I understand some people experienced several bugs and issues, but the game was unplayable on the PS3? That’s just an outright lie.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

The backwards flying dragon was awesome. I kinda wish that glitch stayed.

Also, yeah. I know some people suffered glitches and bugs from GTA V and Skyrim, but I think most are exaggerating about it.

      • Michael DeVore

Google it. There is plenty of evidence for you to see.

  • Veries Seals

This is not a problem for Wii U. We have tons of games coming out between now and Christmas. For the two new kids on the block PS4 and XBox One this is an issue. They already wont have many games at release and now there is one AAA title less. And we still get that game along with them when ever they do decide to release it. I think Xbox One is in a much better position on games on release than the PS4. So sony may have great preorder numbers but wont have a really good launch library. Shoe is on the other foot now.

  • JB

I wonder if some of that is a business decision because of how loaded the holiday season is with the launch of the rest of next gen? Particularly since they would’ve had competing products in AC4 and Watch_Dogs? I would imagine one would cannibalize the other.

I’m a little bummed, but I’d rather have a polished experience than something that’s rushed to market. Ubisoft is starting to remind me of Nintendo in this regard, and that’s a plus in my book.

    • Nathan DeFalco

I think you’re on to something here. It’s not only competing with the big guns, but with Ubi’s own stuff. I will get this game new no matter when it comes out as long as they don’t water down the Wii U version.

    • DragonSilths

I think PS4 takes the biggest hit from losing Watch Dogs till next year. Its not a HUGE hit but it is a noticeable one.

  • Sydney Ultrasyd

Oh noes :’( I’m sad. But OK, it was supposed to be released the same day as Assassin’s Creed IV, I would have bought them day one, but playing both at the same time would have been impossible.

  • David Kumapayi

B.S the only reason there not releasing it is because GTA 5 has got everyone attention right at this moment.

    • Lil J Moore

Not mine. I’m busy with Wonderful 101, WWHD, Tales of Xillia, and Earthbound as of this moment.

Edit: Now add Pokemon X to this bunch.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

Well, you’re not the majority. Though, I have to agree that GTA V right now is still and will be on a lot of gamers’ radar for a while. I would say it isn’t on yours cause it’s not on the Wii U or you genuinely don’t care for GTA V.

        • Fred

I’m with lil J Moore because I genuienly don’t care for GTA V. I own a PS3 and a Wii U and I haven’t even considered buying GTA V it’s not my kind of game.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

            Fair enough.

    • Petri

This news actually made me consider for a split second getting GTA V.

  • Petri

    Well, that’s a disappointment

  • Captinn2

This is like what happeneded with Rayman Legends kindaf. But when this comes out , this is going end up as wonderful and polished as Rayman Legends: Go WatchDogs!

    • Veries Seals

I agree. I think we have plenty of games coming for Wii U that may get a little more love this holiday season then we hit the beginning of the year with a killer watch dogs.

  • Miguel Angel Barrueta Hernánde

With all those Wii U games coming out, and the symphony of the godesses coming to mexico, my wallet is actually happy for the delay

  • Wayne Beck

Very very smart move. This game was setup to fail hard at its release. Ubisoft needs to do something dramatic to rehype this game in the next few months.

  • JeanPaul

    woah!

  • Eduardo

Its ok let them take there time..

    This game better be good.

  • Jack5221

A delayed game is eventually good, while a rushed game is bad forever – Miyamoto. Some people are speculating that the delay has to do with GTA V and AC4. While that could be a reason for the delay, them not wanting Watch Dogs to compete with those BIG titles. That might be true, but then again, wheres all the trailers + screen shots? Normally when a game is close to its release date, screenshots and trailers emerge. Hardly any from Watch Dogs. Anyone else notice that? Im sure the delay will be worth the wait.

    • Daniel Gonzalez

So by that logic, Duke Nukem Forever was eventually a good game? The quote is true for most but not all cases.

      • D.M.T

In Nintendo’s case and Ubisoft’s case its always true. When was the last time you played a Nintendo game that was delayed and was bad? The answer is never. I wish Ubisoft delayed ZombiU like they delayed Rayman Legends because it would have been a better game and it would have sold better than it did.

        • Daniel Gonzalez

          “Always true”

Wii Music, Wii Play, Mario Party Advance, Pokemon Dash weren’t really great games. Of course what you said DMT is subjective and only your opinion, don’t try to make it sound like what you say is a fact. Lol. Cause then you’d obiviously be wrong. Ubisoft has had plenty of bad games as well. Red Steel being a good example.

Nintendo doesn’t often make a mistake, but to say they don’t at all, is only your opinion, not fact. Always true? Let’s not exaggerate. :)

          P.S. Wii Music was horrible.

          • D.M.T

Dude…we are talking about DELAYED GAMES am I right? Are you telling me that Wii Music was delayed? Wii Play was delayed? Mario Party Advance was delayed? Pokemon Dash was delayed? I didn’t know those games were delayed. Red Steel wasn’t delayed either.

I never said Nintendo only makes good games and I never said Ubisoft only makes good games. My point is that when they DELAY a game is because they want to make the game better.

Stop putting words in my mouth and make sure you understand my comment before you reply to it.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Glad you agree with me. I know it’s hard apologize.

          • Jacob D. Taylor

Well Wii Music was supposed to be a launch title orginally. It was delayed about 5 years

          • Daniel Gonzalez

            Thanks for proving my point.

          • D.M.T

And what about the other games he mentioned? Were those delayed too? I know for a fact that Red Steel wasnt

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You missed the point D.M.T. Lol. You said no games that were delayed by Nintendo were bad. You can talk about all the other games, but you are clearly wrong on what you said. Also, I wasn’t talking about delayed games, i was talking about all games whether they were delayed or not. Perhaps, you need to read comments before replying.

You act like this is some kinda war. Chill out. :)

          • gtosheex

Daniel Gonzalez how can you call someone out for trying to make their opinion a fact when that is exactly what you did in your posts??? EXAMPLE “don’t try to make it sound like what you say is a fact. Lol. Cause then you’d obiviously be wrong. Ubisoft has had plenty of bad games as well. Red Steel being a good example.”

Maybe YOU should read YOUR OWN comments before replying.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I do. They are so brilliant and amaze me each time I read them. Don’t be upset cause I’m an artist who is passionate for his work. Don’t worry, I’ll teach you the ways of commentating.

It’s okay Mega Man, you’ll always be loved even though you’re so 1980′s. Someday, your day to shine again will be fully realized.

          • gtosheex

yes i see you are adept in the art of changing the subject and saying snide remarks after realizing you’ve been owned on a forum. congrats.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Mega Man, Megaman….I sense such disdain in your words. You know you’ll never be as good as such an artist. I will take you under my wing and teach you how to have a sense of humor. You are so grumpy and upset. Capcom has done a number on you I can see. No worries, I’m here to save you from such evil and corruption.
In all seriousness though, I’m in the art of not caring what people think of me over the internet nor real life. I don’t take it to heart, but I see you do since you need to feel like you owned me.

As I once heard, attempting to own over the internet is like the special olympics, even if you win, you’re still retarded. It’s okay Mega Man, don’t feel so down, winning isn’t everything.

All in all. Lighten up. :)

          • gtosheex

No i didnt “attempt” to own you, i DID own you. And much like megaman does in his games – all I do is win too, even if it is owning hypocrites like you online. You say lighten up to me but you are clearly fueling the fire by attacking me yourself – if this were football you’d definitely get a spot on C’MON MAN!!!

          • LightupmyLife

Isnt that what youre doing to him right now? Lol. The mere fact that he keeps gettin you to respond means he owns you. I know Mega Man was bad ass and still is, but even Im sure he would admit defeat too.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

            My thoughts exactly.

          • gtosheex

yes it is what im doing – and so what? i never told him to lighten up so it in no way makes me a hypocrite does it? i love debating and i will keep coming back if he posts how does that make him own me?

          • LightupmyLife

How does that make you own him? Lol. If you two are respondin back at each other then I dont see how you own either. That make you just as bad. You call people a bully when you are doing the same thing bro. You claim to be a teacher, even teachers have more sense than that. Lol.

          • gtosheex

my FIRST post owned him. reread from the beginning please. he clearly did not address what i said to him at all and kept changing the subject. because he knew he was beat – i even provided proof from his own comment. end of discussion.

          • LightupmyLife

“Daniel Gonzalez how can you call someone out for trying to make their
opinion a fact when that is exactly what you did in your posts???
EXAMPLE “don’t try to make it sound like what you say is a fact. Lol.
Cause then you’d obiviously be wrong. Ubisoft has had plenty of bad
games as well. Red Steel being a good example.”

Yeah I read that and I dont see whats wrong with it. He DMT was implying it as a fact and Daniel just told him that it is only an opinion which would make him right. I think youre the one who needs to reread bro. Lol. Give it up.

            “my FIRST post owned him”

You act more like a teen than a teacher bro. I sure hope you dont teach kids to behave like this.

          • gtosheex

are you serious? you obviously read it but didn’t know what he was saying – much like the dumbass kids i teach. Daniel G himself was trying to make it sound like what HE was saying is a fact and he criticized someone else for doing just that… it’s called hypocrisy. look it up.

can i not be an immature teacher? lol i’m 24 BRO i still feel like a teen. get off your fucking high horse and stop acting all high and mighty – this is a site for FUCKING VIDEO GAMES. you are supposed to be immature jesus christ.

          • ZeldaFan86

You have some serious issues. Being 24 doesn’t excuse you for your behavior, especially being a teacher. I think you’re the one who is on a high horse, sweetie. Of course you are young, but that doesn’t excuse your tantrums and bad antics. Being on a video game site doesn’t mean to start acting like a fool. That’s very stereotypical. Did you seriously call kids you teach a dumbass? I pray that you find a new profession dear. :-)

          • gtosheex

You don’t even know what teacher’s go through – we call kids dumbasses all the time. trust me SWEETIE. How am i on a high horse and i admitted I’m immature at the same time? you need to look up the word “contradiction” DEAR.

          • LightupmyLife

It might be because youre reading something that isnt there. Ever thought about that bro? I think you just dont like being told otherwise or in truth are just doing this for the trolling. Lol. You did say you were immature after all. Dumbass kids huh? Lol. Damn bro, you mustve had a bad upbringing or hate your job. I cant be a hypocrite if Im not the one who is throwing a fit over this. I get it bro, you are still a teen at heart and thats your only defence in all this. I would get some anger management class on the side they do wonders. Lol. Good night bro.

          • gtosheex

dude cmon now, you copy and pasted what he said – and then i told you AGAIN what he said. how do you not get that? how is it not there?
also you are the one making things personal here calling me out for being a a “bad teacher”. you can think what ever you want about me that doesnt mean you have to say it and get off task of the debate at hand – you attack me i will defend myself. oh and again if i’m “trolling” then you are doing the same thing bud. YOU commented on my stuff first technically making you the troll – im just defending myself which i certainly have the right to do. keep it coming bud.

and btw i love my job and my nintendo background/upbringing =]

          • LightupmyLife

I would do the same thing if someone over the net is acting like they know everything. Plus being a teacher as you should know better than to fuel conflict. You are a poor one IMO. Owning is for teens bro.

I read his comments and I read yours too. Far as I see it you’re both childish in your own ways and need to learn to play nice. I’m not defending him nor you. Truth is you’re both in the wrong, somethin I can see you have a hard time admitting. You can think what you wish, but you are just as bad as any troll for acting immature. Lol. End of discussion dude. You know you lost this one even though you wont admit it. Peace bro.

          • gtosheex

you are a fucking joke kid. me fueling conflict? i’m pointing out someone thinking they are smart but are being a hypocrite. i am NOT smart and that’s why i don’t try to act like it – i just make sure people get put in their place when they deserve it – he wanted to make someone look dumb so i made him look dumb.

you can have your opinion that we are both childish but you are doing the same thing… acting immature just like ME and arguing over the internet. i will definitely admit that there is nothing to win or lose because i wasn’t trying to win anything – just saying what i want. you are the one making it a competition trying to “win”. and btw you are a fool if you think acting immature makes you a troll – everyone acts immature – read ALL the comments lol C’MON MAN! go ahead keep arguing and being immature BRO. you fucking tool.

          • LightupmyLife

The more you post, the more desperate you become. Im just telling it lik it is. I dont have to win anything bro, cause the internet isnt about wins or losses. Only difference between us man is Im not the one throwing out insults. Yes, that makes me smarter I guess. Also, you arent making anyone look dumb, youre doing that just fine on your own. Lol.

          • gtosheex

“Plus being a teacher as you should know better than to fuel conflict. You are a poor one IMO. ”

            oh you didnt insult me????

            hypocrisy at it’s finest

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You’re also guilty of doing the same things as you came into a conversation that had nothing to do with you. So therefore, you’re just as much of a hypocrite if you wanna go by that logic. :)

I don’t know everything in the world, but I can see someone who is full of himself from miles away.

“No i didnt “attempt” to own you, i DID own you.”

Another insecure gamer. The more you try to prove ownage, the more it shows. Good day, Mega Man. :)

          • gtosheex

Guilty of what? Did i ever tell you to lighten up??? no i dont think i did, so how does that make me a hypocrite? READ MY POST BEFORE REPLYING PLEASE.

And i didnt see any rule that i cant post on people’s conversation? did i miss the memo? because i think that’s what this whole process is used for – commenting on other people’s comment/conversations… seriously man you defy logic

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Or perhaps you can’t stand it when it’s thrown on you? :)

Yes, you are welcomed to reply to other peoples comments, however, at the same time, by saying that I’m trying to force opinions on another is nothing more than funny, since you’re basically trying that with me.

Did you miss a memo? Yes, you did actually. We were suppose to have dinner together and you were a no show. You broke my heart, dear. :(

Also, Gamerfreak said it best, the more you reply back, the more you contradict your “owning’ argument. So….about defying logic? Wanna run that by me again?

If I give you a headache, then probably best to move along, otherwise, or at the very least, go back to the topic at hand. Or we can see that movie together that you’ve been boasting about? How about it? :)

          • gtosheex

trololol asking me on a date? you are really pathetic man – it’s almost sad

          • Zorlac79

This guy is a top notch loser, he meets all the criteria!

He is always the first to post in a topic, sitting at home in his parents house while they work and tell all their friends what a loser son they have….

One day, he will be gone. Hopefully he takes his other profile gamerfreak81 with him. Would be nice!

I am glad to have never had many people tell me these things and that they want me to leave, and still not. Must be a really empty feeling….

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Who said a date? You don’t eat dinner with your guy friends? I mean unless you’re…..you know. It’s cool, I’m fine if you are. I won’t judge you.

          • Zorlac79

A starving artist, that’s for sure.

It’s okay pathetic man, you were never loved and still your hanging around here like people want you too. Our day to shine will be realized when we stop seeing your posts.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You’ll love me when I make pro Nintendo posts from the get go. Sorry, I’m not here to make Nintendo the holy grail of gaming. Besides, it is you who trolls me with constant comments aimed to try to bring me down, when all you do is prove my point about silly fanboys who can’t take criticism.

People like me will be on this site no matter what. Cause we’re middle-ground people who will give it straight. Also, I do give positive posts, but not my problem if you fail to see them. That just makes you quick to judge. That’s fine, you at least give me amusement.

Now go along with your typical comments. Your people count on you. :P

          • D.M.T

You was talking about delayed games and I replied to you saying that in Nintendo’s case and Ubisoft’s case, all delayed games are good. So how can you tell me that you wasn’t talking about delayed games? You were indeed talking about delayed games but you changed the subject when I proved you wrong.

Why talk about all games when we were originally talking about delayed games? You know i’m right but of course you won’t admit it.

And I am chill, I don’t waste my time getting mad or stressed out on the internet.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You were talking about delayed games my friend, that thought wasn’t on my mind. No, I won’t admit something that was never the case, but you’re more than welcomed to feel that it is.

As for you being chill, that is questionable, but I digress. I’ll at least say you take things like a champ. I can respect that. That’s as far as I go with you.

          • D.M.T

Not only are you a liar but you are unable to admit that someone is making more sense than you.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Again, pot calling the kettle black. That’s about all I saw with this post. You still fail to see that I don’t see what you see. Also…

“And I am chill, I don’t waste my time getting mad or stressed out on the internet.”

You’re not really showing that right now. Maybe it’s because I’m making more sense than you. Can’t have it one way my friend. You’re stern, and I have fun. We will never see eye to eye, so why do you continue to rant? If you feel you’re more sensible, then why do you continue to respond? I smell contradiction and insecurity.

Anyways, it was fun talking with you, but I have other important things to do right now. Take care now. :)

          • gtosheex

You are such a fucking joke man – you try and act all smart and calm but YOU are the one that is insecure. Once you know you are wrong and the other person is making more sense, you change the subject and try to make a personal stab at the other person.
And then add some witty ending to make it seem like you don’t really care or arent trying to be mean but you do really care otherwise you wouldn’t be coming back over and over again. (and yes I DO care too thats why i keep coming back sir)

dont care for my opinion? look at all your downvotes – other people feel the same way – even though you’re going to say you don’t care what other people think, just thought I’d give you another perspective.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Isn’t that exactly what you’ve been doing? I was never wrong, cause he was talking about delayed games, which was his argument, I made it clear to him that I was talking about Nintendo games in general. So, I would say that you didn’t read my comments that well. You seem to wanna continue to fight and express ownage, when there is neither of that, other than in your mind.

You can think what you like about me, I’m all for that, but it doesn’t change the reality of the situation. :)

Btw, does this mean that I don’t get flowers after work tomorrow? Also, give my regards to Dr. Light, he hasn’t returned my last phone call.

          • gtosheex

pathetic troll – get a life

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Got one, but thanks for the offer.

          • jrob23

lol, welcome to Danny boy’s world. Where all it takes is a moronic remark to touch off a debate. Then when he gets owned in said debate, he and a couple of his buddies (or his other usernames I suspect) pile on detractors and change the subject to avoid admitting they are wrong. Then to top it off they end it with a weak attempt at sarcasm. Don’t feed the troll. It is a waste of your time.

          • gtosheex

yeah this guy is ridiculous – i just cant take it when people are hypocrites and bully others. (i teach and see it all the time)

          • Daniel Gonzalez

So being a bully means a person who has a different opinion than your own, qualifies as one? That was pretty much what you did too, adding in your two cents. I guess that makes you a bully as well I suppose. Oh thank god, for a second there I thought that made sense. Whew. Thanks for the good humor.

All seriousness, you only think I’m a bully cause you don’t like when people talk down your comments or take them that serious as you do.

I’m all for a debate, but only when said person isn’t acting like a know it all, such as saying “Nintendo never makes bad delayed games.” That one has already been debunked.

You’re welcomed to keep going. From here, it’s just entertainment. Unless you wanna debate, then perhaps change the subject. I’m not that difficult. Choice is yours. :)

          • Zorlac79

No, it is when you give condescending remarks that are fictitious, and then defend them like they have a bit of truth to them, all just for fun.

That is being a bully, and exactly what you are doing.

Oh, and that nobody likes what you are saying, since it is just useless ignorance, yet you still insist.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

That’s cause there is truth in them. :)

Also, it’s not my problem if people continue to respond back with hateful comments that didn’t need to be done in the first place. Annnnnnd…I never insulted you nor anyone else. You did that and gto. :P

Don’t contradict your own posts dude, it doesn’t work with me. If you wanna call out on bullying, then what do you call what others do? Two wrongs don’t make a right. I’m sure you were taught that. Sure, it’s what I did too, but at least be honest instead of defending one side.

If you’re not gonna be middle ground about it, then you’re no better than I. Makes perfect sense. Want me to stop? Then talk respectful to me and perhaps I’ll do the same in return. If you follow what I do, then you’d know that.

            The choice is yours.

          • Super Mario

Wooooow….so much drama on here. I think I’ll give my two cents on it, however.

It’s true that Daniel did take it far with comments, but to be honest, most of them weren’t that bad with the humor. I get people don’t like him, and I don’t like how he talks about games I like, but it is free speech. Even if he doesn’t admit things, it shouldn’t be a concern to anyone. It’s his choice to be that way.

Secondly, you are doing a banged up job of adding fuel to the fire Zorlac, so he is right in some comments, you and I won’t mention the other two are ganging up causing a ruckus. I can’t say I call what he did bullying since it sort of started when other people came in with insults, which never helps mind you. To be fair for all sides, you’re all wrong for different reasons, and none of you are better than the other. I would say move along and grow up. This site doesn’t need people causing problems. I love this site, and hope people can get along for a change. I’m a Nintendo fan at heart, but I don’t mind what other people have to say about me or games I like. Bullying each other gets none of us anywhere.

Sorry for the long post. I’m not against anyone. You all make good points(including Daniel, gtosheex and others, but you all also are all guilty of causing drama.

Just to get back on topic, I’m not too upset that Watch Dogs will be delayed. I have Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3 to play. So Ubisoft can take their time polishing it. I know this holiday is a great one for Nintendo. ^_^

          • gtosheex

Nah I just enjoy seeing you type paragraphs to make you feel good about yourself – keep it up man you are doing a good job there.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Then that means you’re purposely encouraging conflict. It’s okay, I enjoy reading your contradicting posts, too. I do feel good about myself, why wouldn’t I? I’m not the one getting uppity over it. :P

Just don’t say I never gave a truce attempt. :)

          • Daniel Gonzalez

All because of an opinion you didn’t agree with. Being a fool is easy isn’t it? :)

You must really love me dude. It’s okay, i love you too. You’re awesome and make me feel so confident and welcomed. Thank you good sir for showing me how narrow-minded people like you are. I rest my case.

Don’t be mad cause I don’t love everything Nintendo does, cause they aren’t gods of gaming. Don’t like what I have to say, don’t respond. Good day. :)

          • Super Mario

You’re not helping much by continuing to respond to their posts. Just let it go man. You’re being a douche, and so is anyone else who was involved in this crazy comment war.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I don’t feel I was, but I digress. I’m done with it, no worries. It got out of hand, but I’m not taking full responsibility for it. It’s like I said before, don’t like what I say, then don’t respond. By responding to me with insults and hate, you’re no better than a troll that people like to claim I am. I just think people can’t handle criticism towards Nintendo.

          • Super Mario

Well, not everyone will like it on this site. I do agree that there are Yes men and extreme fandom from individuals on this site. I don’t see any point in trying to reason with fans like that. I do think you do troll sometimes, and a few others, but you aren’t that bad to me. I do credit you for taking quite a hit and refraining from insults.

Even so, you are very argumentive. Not that it’s that bad of a thing, but you should really tone it down. I do agree that people can act like they know it all. If you feel you’re right, just say so and leave it at that. If they get upset and start being troublesome then leave it be. To change topic, why don’t you have a Wii U yet? There is a lot of great games for it.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

There isn’t anything really that I like at this very moment, so I don’t see a reason to get one right now. I do have every intention of doing so for the right games. Only games that entice me are Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8. I still love Nintendo since they were apart of me growing up, but I’m not too much into their games as much as I used to.

I’m more with Sony these days, but still will get a Xbox One and Wii U down the line.

          • Super Mario

I prefer Nintendo, but I do have a PS3 to go along with it. I like God of War 3, The Last of Us and Diablo 3.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

If I cared about downvotes, then I’d give the usual pro Nintendo comment to get upvotes. That usually means that I don’t follow them nor take them seriously. Thanks for bringing it to my attention that you do. Also, you’re on a Nintendo driven site with more fanboys than fans or the average middle ground individual. I expect you to get them silly. :P

          • Zorlac79

You went on the subject of Miyamoto’s quote!

Stop trying to weasel your way out of ignorance, it is embarrassing.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

            Thanks for proving my point.

          • Jacob D. Taylor

Right because you’re so much better in that regard

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You don’t have to compliment me, Jacob. The look in your eye says it all. I’m flattered but it’s not necessary.

          • Jacob D. Taylor

Haha, well I do have to give you an A for funny replies.

          • Arthur Jarret

Wii music was more entertaining than Doshin the Giant, though. I liked the idea of the game… but it was very boring.

And pokemon Dash is still infinitely better than Pokemon channel

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I’ll give you that one. Though Wii Music just bored me to death. There was so much they could’ve done with that.

        • nexxus6

ZombiU was a great game, in my opinion. I am interested to hear what aspects of the game you didn’t enjoy.

      • Nintendofreak

duke nukem wasnt bad i actually enjoyed the game, but the loading time was horrible

        • Daniel Gonzalez

It was horrible. Had too many bugs and glitches. Hell, even the demo suffered the same issues. The game itself was out of touch with today’s culture. Duke is lost in time. I do hope that Gearbox can do something good with him.

          • david jarman

That game was delayed for years just like aliens. By the time they released them the graphics were dated. It’s ashame that publishers and developers allow for that and makes you question the level of quality control or if those companies even care at all.

          • Crillan

There were a lot of legal issues involved with companies closing and the product changing hands etc. That was a big part of the delay, on top of the fact they changed engines a couple times. The final release was pretty good if you consider the timeframe it should have been released. Even among today’s FPS games, it was a lot more fun to play than most of the modern games out now.
Your question about whether the companies cared is pretty far off the mark. I guarantee that 3DRealms and everyone else involved cared deeply about the game which is why they kept working to improve it.

          • david jarman

Actually it wasn’t received well by a lot of people and a lot of fans were let down including myself. It was in development for a really looooooong time(15yrs). It was shelved for awhile. It was fun, but still a let down. The original team was let go and good ol’ gearbox takes over.

          • Crillan

It wasn’t in full development for 15 years. Even when Gearbox got it, they pretty much got a mostly finished product that just needed some polishing. They published it basically the way it was because they didn’t want to alter it from what the original developers created. They basically released a (roughly)2004 game in 2011. Yes, they were working on it through the years before Gearbox stepped in, but it was still on old technology. It’s essentially an old modified version of Unreal Engine from around 2002. It looks pretty good when you actually consider the context. That said, the game is tons of fun if you’re not stuck on minor superficial aspects.

          • Crillan

The game was not horrible. I had more fun playing that game than any COD or Halo game I’ve played. I’m not sure what you mean by too many bugs and glitches because I can’t think of a single one. If they exist, they were so minor that they didn’t inhibit me from completing the campaign and spending a lot of time on multiplayer in the slightest.
Talking about being out of touch with today’s culture, I’m not sure what you were expecting to be honest. Duke was the same as he always was and that’s a good thing. He’s not supposed to be politically correct and if you were hoping for a fluffy version of the Duke, then you don’t really seem to get the whole Duke world and the game was not really meant for you.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I get the Duke world. I played all the Duke games in the past. Lol. He’s out of touch for today’s generation. His one liners are also old and no longer are funny. Just as other games adapt, so do Duke Nukem games.

Glad you had fun with it, but I saw little in it.

      • Jack5221

Mmmm… I never played Duke Nukem Forever. When I think of good games that got delayed this year, Rayman Legends, Pikmin 3, and Wonderful 101 all comes to mind.

        • Daniel Gonzalez

Probably cause it wasn’t released this year. Rayman Legends is the only thing that interests me on that list, but I already have it for PC. I enjoy the music levels.

      • Cesar Barroso

it is only true for Nintendo developed games

        • Daniel Gonzalez

          I beg to differ.

      • Skelterz

        Your a baldy little wanker

        • Daniel Gonzalez

Did I mention I’m taken? Quit trying to hit on me. I’m not impressed.

      • Mario

Maybe. Maybe not. We won’t know until you play it.

      • yienwae

Duke Nukem Forever was a bad game from inception. I don’t think the Miyamoto quote applies to that.

        • Daniel Gonzalez

It certainly does. If it looks like a game, plays like one, it’s a game. He’s talking about games in general, so I don’t know how that logic makes sense.

          • Guest

You said: “The quote is true for most but not all cases.”

Miyamoto’s statement does not apply to Duke Nukem Forever.

            We are in agreement.

Duke Nukem Forever was a bad game. So from your own quote, you have proven that Miyamoto’s statement does not apply to it.

So why are you saying now that “It certainly does”? :D

          • yienwae

sorry about that. This was my initial reply but it posted as a Guest. Tried to delete this so I could post the above statement instead. My bad.

          • yienwae

You said “The quote is true for most but not all cases.”

I agree with that. Duke Nukem Forever was a bad game. Miyamoto’s statement was false regarding this game. It clearly does not apply to it.

I think you are taking his quote and making it as a blanket statement for ‘all games in general’. We can’t do that. That’s how quotes get taken out of context. The fault here is that someone else (not you) took this quote out of context to begin with and made the assumption that a 3rd party game like Watchdogs is a great game. We do not know if Watchdogs is great yet until we play it.

The issue here is that we do not know what Miyamoto said before and after this initial quote and what game(s) he was personally referring to when he made this.

      • Michael Ocampo

I think what miyamoto meant by that was that if we decide to delay a game, we are trying to make the game better. Not just delaying for no reason. But if we release the game how it is now, it won’t meet that level of quality and it will have been a wasted idea and opportunity. Just what I think

      • Rinslowe

Not to mention Aliens: Colonial Marines… lol. Will we be waiting much longer to see if better on Wii U ? :P

Actually I tend to agree with Randy Pitchfork here… Wii U was definitely the definitive version of that game… Being non-existent….

    • DragonSilths

Now it will have to compete with Mario Kart 8.

      • The True Gamer

Their not really competing. Many gamers want Watch Dogs, while only Nintendo fans want Mario Kart. Most people aren’t going to not buy the other just because they bought one.

        • DragonSilths

The Wii U version of Watch Dogs will have to compete with Mario Kart 8. Then Ubifail will say didn’t have great sales on Wii U, even though I am getting both (Have Watch Dogs for Wii U Pre-ordered and payed off) it wont stand a chance against Mario Kart 8 when it comes to the Nintendo fanbase.

          • The True Gamer

For all gamers watch dogs will gain more attention, and most companies focus on sales, not appealing to one system

    • Ducked

Okay the delayed game is eventually good myamoto thing is starting to get old, we all Wii U dailyers know now lol

      • Daniel Gonzalez

        +1 for the Duck

      • Clel

And it’s often misquoted, I don’t think that’s the original quote.

        • Ducked

Probably not, it’s been spread so much lol

    • Dez

People need to stop with that Miyamoto quote. It is really obnoxious and frankly that isn’t entirely true. As I pointed out in a prior article, Nintendo doesn’t consider patching an option and they don’t release expansions, they are delving into DLC and hinted at F2P, but a game can go from bad to great via patching/expansions.

It is a bit of good news for me though, I don’t have any money to spare. However, 2014 is really looking to be quite stellar with a great lineup of titles. Still Nintendo, Ubisoft, and the rest need to stop this delaying games for months on end bullshit, just don’t give a release date if you can’t keep to it. I still remember how Nintendo delayed Twilight Princess repeatedly and still wish they’d make an HD version of it, that would really show off to the graphics whores what the Wii U is capable of that and there is X. I don’t think anything but the 3DS will do anything record breaking this holiday season, the new consoles have a lot of work needing to go into them, lots of kinks to work out, not exactly great lineups, and they are expensive.

The Wii U should actually be doing very well this holiday season at least that is the way I see it. It is much more affordable and will have a wider catalog of titles available. I believe a great deal of the sales still not being so fantastic is the hype around the new consoles and hesitant consumers, after the holiday season I expect a big reversal for Nintendo.

    • Flamingoathere

A delayed game is eventually good, while a bad game is bad forever – Miyamoto.

This was before Nintendo knew about patches. Don’t get me wrong, I love that Nintendo demands high quality products with lots of testing (at least for first party titles). But sometimes I think they take TOO long getting stuff out their. Skyward Sword was in development for how long? Got delayed how many times? And STILL had a gamebreaking glitch that had to be fixed after release. Same thing with Super Smash Bros Brawl. Delayed how many times? Yet online play was still buggy, messy, and generally unplayable.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

Agree 100% I don’t mind some delays, but Nintendo has too many of them going on of late. If Nintendo diehards are fine with it, that’s cool, but not all of us are. If anything, Nintendo needs to speed up development a bit without sacrificing quality.

      • yienwae

The quote is “A delayed game is eventually good, while a RUSHED game is forever bad.”

Let’s make sure we are quoting Miyamoto correctly at least.

    • Levi Johansen

the quote is: “…while a rushed game is bad forever”.

    • yienwae

The quote says “A delayed game is eventually good, while a RUSHED game is forever bad.”

Now because of a misquote, we’ve all blown the interpretation out of the stadium. The word RUSHED does make a difference doesn’t it?

Let’s get the quote correct before discussing it. :D

  • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

    noooooooooooooooooooooooo…
at last the game will come better.

  • Jon

Probably delayed so they can make their day one DLC like they did on AC4

  • ZeldaFanzzzz

Damn, this game was on my wishlist for the Wii U, have to wait next year. Oh well…still gonna get it.

  • http://Johnaguilera.prosite.com/ John Aguilera

Thank goodness. I’m going to be less broke come the holidays because so many great titles are going to be released.

  • DigitalBlawks

I’m totally fine with this. They’re playing it wise like a Nintendo developer and not like a money-greedy CoD developer.

    • Daniel Gonzalez

Which is what got Nintendo into sales troubles.

      • Fred

May be true, but I’d rather a late great game than an ok on time game. Delays haven’t stopped me from buying games I’m a proud owner of Rayman Legends

        • Daniel Gonzalez

If Nintendo was smart, they’d have pushed the Wii U back so that they had games from the get go. My point is that even the so called wise Nintendo makes plenty of mistakes, but I digress. :P

          • Fred

Would it have been better? Over the last 11 months they sold 3.4 million Wii U consoles. No, not great, but better than zero plus it allowed them to see which things they needed to fix immediately like the speed and stability of the system. I assure you that they would have NEVER sole 3.4 million Wii consoles during the last 11 years.
Besides there were enough games to keep me more than happy. I actually turned some down because of a lack of time to play them and I still haven’t opened Madden 13

          • Daniel Gonzalez

They had nothing to lose. So yeah, I’d say they should have waited to release the Wii U. The one year head start didn’t do them much good. They have a good enough lineup this holiday, we’ll see what it does for them.

          • Jacob D. Taylor

Well the Wii U had a better launch than both the Xbox 360 and PS3 so I don’t know where your expectations lie.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Wii U’s launch was subpar in comparison, but I digress. Each of our opinions are subjective, so as for my expectations, I expected better.

          • DragonSilths

Wouldn’t have helped much. The name of the system would still have been an issue for some. Plus the lack of sales numbers of Wii U are mainly the casuals who don’t really care about consoles anymore, they want smartphone crap and Ipad games.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I do agree, the name was a horrible choice. I stand by that Nintendo Universe sounds loads better.

          • DragonSilths

I had no issue with the name, I wanted the Nintendo Stream to be the name, since it streams to the gamepad. But if you don’t buy a system cause of the name well…there is something wrong with you lol. My point was casuals don’t want consoles right now, no matter what the name of the system is lol.

          • Shigeru Miyamoto

damn that’s a good idea for a name man! hell yeah.. shoot i guess anything would’ve been better than Wii U. I just don’t get it. that touch screen controller is cool but i don’t like how big it is sometimes and that battery life on it SUCKS so much butt. the battery is horrible!

          • DragonSilths

Battery could be better, but playing with it charging is no big deal. Also I find the Gamepad is small. Like when I pick it up I’m like him wasn’t this bigger? Guess I just got used to it lol.

          • John Andalora

Agreed. At least then they would’ve had a massive wave of games while PS4 and Xbox One were releasing with a small line-up. Think of how good the line-up would’ve been for Wii U at Launch with Mario, Pikmin, Wonderful 101, NintendoLand, Rayman, and ZombiU perfected rolled into one! (Also, I’m thinking COD: Ghost would’ve come out on it, since EA wouldn’t have already burned the bridge with Nintendo).

    • yienwae

I’d rather have Ubi delay the game and make sure everything is worked out. I remember the game ending bugs on ZombiU (in my opinion was a great title) in which people had to avoid specific situations in the Nursery and in the final run through of the Embassy. It took Ubi quite a while to come out with a patch to address these two major issues. I am disappointed about the delay, but I’m fine if the end product is that much better.

  • Jared Garcia

This is somewhat good as I didn’t have the money to pay off my whole pre order. So many games were coming out in a short time.

  • Nathan DeFalco

I only have the budget for one game in November and I struggled between this and Mario 3d World. Thanks Ubisoft for making the decision for me. But, just know that if it is released in the same month as Smash or Kart, it won’t be a struggle. Your game will wait some more.

    • Shigeru Miyamoto

it’s two games for me november which was gonna be hard because i feel a must buy are, Super Mario 3 D World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Watch Dogs… now i just have 2 games to buy. I’m glad cuz i’ll have time to play a few games but bummed cuz like a lot of people i’ve been waiting for this game ..

  • Bortly

“we will not compromise on quality” ya tell that to all of us who bought the BROKEN Splinter Cell Blacklist on Wii U.

    • NkoSekirei

single player was awsome but multiplayer is a different story

  • Justagamer

I fine with this because so games coming out this just gives me more time

  • bizzy gie

Most anticipated game. Very sad news, but hopefully for the better.

  • Jamal Brown

fucking disappointment its weird that they do it wen it comes out nx month and they did wot rock star did with grand theft auto v pushed it back

  • WiiU4life

    Maybe it’s a ploy to utilize the Wii U Gamepad/Smart Glass/PS Vita more… I take that back; I guarantee that’s why it’s been delayed!

  • Cold Heat

Ouch. Time to cancel the pre-order.

  • NyallJodhan

Remember you read this here first:
This game has been delayed for cross-platform multiplayer across all 3 consoles.

    • Lil J Moore

I read about it first on gameinformer

      • NyallJodhan

No, you read the article there first. I haven’t made this comment there as yet. Nor has anyone else.

  • Tra Allen

whatttttt fuck. Now I don’t want my ps4 preorder

  • Tra Allen

I think they really trying to move away from the competition right now. They want to be that one game everyone wants to buy. This not the time. Dammit Ubisoft. I’m trying to stay positive about this

  • http://twitch.tv/dve2k DVE

They probably realized that Call of Cancer is gonna outsell them 10:1 xD. Smart move Ubisoft but now I have to wait til Spring to play it on the WiiU dammit ><

  • Nintendo Fan 4 Lif3

Don’t let me down Ubisoft; we’re counting on you.

  • Antar Rodríguez

WTF… just one month before its release what is ubisoft thinking?? it was my most anticipated game just after WW, im guessing they dont want to compete against GTA5 but what the hell this really dissapoints me

  • Mario

My brother is not gonna be happy about this.

  • prettypinkpanacea

I have been thinking about purchasing this game because it looks fantastic. Waiting a little longer for a more polished final product is no big deal.

  • Super Buu

I’m actually happy about this news. I wanted to buy this game to support Ubisoft but there are too many games coming out now. By that time, I would have enough money to buy this game.

    • NkoSekirei

well at least assassin creed 4,sonic lost world and ghosts will keep me busy for awhile till then

  • Kaleb

    :/ :( :’(

  • Stephen Davis

Nooooooooooooooooooooo! I was really looking forward to this one…. :/

  • Donaald

So basically all I have to play this Christmas is Batman Arkham Origins…

    • Daniel Gonzalez

You make it sound like a bad thing.

    • Ricky__Spanish

Mario 3D World, Stick of Truth

  • leafsfan73

This is just Ubisoft, once again, delaying a game to wait on a more established install base, and to take advantage of the spring slowdown in releases compared to the christmas rush. Want to make sure their investment in this new IP makes a profit, and doesn’t get lost in the avalanche of releases at launch/Christmas.

    • nexxus6

I think Watch Dogs would not have had any sales concerns if released as originally planned in November. Plus, it would be concerning if Ubisoft felt that Dogs wouldn’t live up to expectations and instead “get lost in the avalanche of releases at launch/Christmas”.

  • edwincarp

The trouble with delays like this, is that the public doesn’t actually know the actual reason for the delay. We assume that it’s for extra content, but will we see any proof of this when the game launches? Therefore, the worst side of my speculation emerges, and that is: Sony or Microsoft have paid for a delay to benefit their one system most. On the positive side of speculation, or more like the forgiving side, Ubisoft have simply got too much on their hands. I can see how both they delay of Rayman Legends and WatchDogs could be tactical decisions influenced by Sony or Microsoft. In the case of Watchdogs, my personal feeling is that Ubisoft can’t have the PS4 version only looking half way better than the Wii U version, if we imagine a percentage (100%) between PS3 and PS4, with Wii U in the middle, that’s only half way better, so that would affect public perceptions of the next-gen graphical leap, which would be most affected by large scale games requiring graphically-efficient spreading of game resources, at launch. I also suspect that with devices such as Smartglass and Vita remote play, the demands on developers to harness the potential of these devices early on, creates extra difficulty in porting games to all systems, because each are dedicated add-ons. If Sony doesn’t want any misconceptions about next gen graphics, and the launch games aren’t quite demonstrative of next gen, then the add-on devices will have to be used as well, so that people don’t switch to Wii U thinking that graphics don’t matter. That’s my take on it anyway. But of course, you can’t blame anyone. There may be various reasons for various things, but there are also virtues that people believe in, that go way beyond marketing decisions. In some respects, you believe in what you want to believe in, you don’t attack your competitors, which is something I’ve been appreciating, the more I’ve read about irritating delays and potentially ruthless corporate tactics (like with EA). Perhaps the more we become accustomed to oppositional behaviour, the more we can learn to believe in things. I do feel strange saying that… :s anyway, with all that said, I forgot to mention… some games really do end up with game breaking bugs that take ages to fix, or maybe someone’s died or is ill in Ubisoft… etc… so it could be anything. Also, yeah, instead of analysing all of this, I could just settle for the other argument, which is that other games might push it away from higher sales, and that it might look lower quality compared to GTA 5. Good points. Definitely a little more direct and less speculative than what I’ve just said.

    • nexxus6

I would not be surprised if this delay is to give an advantage to PS4/Xbone versions. You may be right when you speculate that someone may have greased Ubisoft’s wheels with some cash, especially since this comes on the heels of Nintendo stating that WiiU sales saw a huge boost.

  • yienwae

I’m fine with that, even though it is disappointing. I would rather have them fine tune everything and have a polished product then try to release something that may need a major patch because they tried to get the it out by its release date. It may actually help me in determining my priorities now. I can now get Batman Arkham Origins first and still save up for Watchdogs whereas I was going to put Batman on the back burner. A blessing in disguise from my point of view.

  • zajac1661

I would rather wait. Imagine if Rayman had been rushed out. Look at what a beast of a sidescroller it became. With gta5 just hitting the step atm, i guess it is in a favor to get a little time between another sandbox game in that style.

  • Rinslowe

It is interesting that recently Ubisoft had answered questions on the differences and similarities between GTA V and Watchdogs on various sites…

I agree with the people saying Ubisoft’s more likely wanting to allow time to let GTA V’s steam to run out a little before releasing Watchdogs.

I knew GTA V would be popular, but it’s been more successful than imagined. Ubisoft would want to wait now, in order to maximize sales later.

    • BIG Franky

that might be a componant, but i think this delay is more likely driven by the fact that it makes ZERO business sense to launch a brand new IP at the same time as a very successful & established one in AC IV….. no good could come from that…. best case is the two titles cannabalize each others sales, worst case is Watch Dogs falls between the cracks and gets lost amongst the crowd.

      • Rinslowe

        And that….

  • Shigeru Miyamoto

I know this… Wii U thus far with their slow release of trickled out games since launch November 2012, is starting to get me excited to buy a PlayStation 4. I love nintendo but i’m really dissapointed that third party devs are shafting the wii u ports.

the only Wii U titles I’m excited for are, Super Smash Bros, Zelda wii U, Mario Kart 8(sort of) and that’s really all i’m excited for… havent heard anything new that sounds amazing. Where are all the new Nintendo IP’s????!!! i wanna see something new. i don’t want a new gameplay with a familiar character .. i want an all new game nintendo.

    • BIG Franky

Did you try Wonderful 101???? thats a very fun new IP. it honestly beats anything I’ve played on PS3 in years, aside maybe TLOU.

  • Ricky__Spanish

Shit. Now I guess I have to buy Killzone instead

  • val berger

So Ubisoft finally came to the conclusion, that Watchdogs Sales might be interfered by AC4 Sales as both are too huge openworld games and many AC4 players might ot be into buying another game just a few weeks later. Ths isn’t about Bugfixing at all but just plain strategy as the game should be complete by now. If there would have been too many bugs in the game, they would have known earlier before.

  • Wiiluigi

I didn’t buy rayman and I won’t buy this. Ubisoft is dead to me.

    • BIG Franky

LOL…. you’re ridiculous. dont complain that 3rd parties dont release games for a system when people like you refuse to buy them. you embarrass yourself.

      • Wiiluigi

I don’t really complain about 3rd party support. I have everything Nintendo has made ( I even have an 5 Nintendo Ultra hands 1966, so you know how far back I go) . I don’t buy Nintendo products because of 3rd party support. If I like a 3rd party game it’ll be a bonus and thanks for that. But if I complain it’ll be about a game I was looking forward to. Other than that 3rd party games/support can kiss my ass. So what if Nintendo Wii U flops? They will regroup and come out with another system. This 100 year old company is going no where.
Also the only ridiculous and embarrassing thing here is your post. Simply for the fact that your comment has no factual information. Look at my posts. I hate EA all their games are repetitive. Ubisoft makes stupid moves. I never said omg why not?! We need them! Ever! Like I said it’ll be nice and a bonus but I could care less for them. Unlike many other people who don’t like Nintendo. (not hating here you are all entitled to your opinions) I’m happy with Mario, Metroid, Kirby, Yoshi, Smash Bros., Zelda, DK, Fzero, and the countless IPs Nintendo has.

        • The True Gamer

Nintendo has also made terrible moves. Wii u’s name was terrible, 3DS’s 3D was terrible, and Nintendo can’t justify the purchase of a Wii U to the many gamers who enjoy Nintendo, but don’t feel that $299 is cheap enough to purchase one with new systems launching that can play more games.

          • Wiiluigi

I agree. I never said Nintendo were saints. There are a whole bunch of things that everyone is doing wrong. Wish everyone can regroup like a happy family and get things going the right direction. But as long as MCF then it’ll be just so.

  • ElladanCZ

Makes me sad. I was really hype about this game. But looks like my money Ive been saving for it will go either towards Windwaker or Arkham Origins .

  • Agent721

    1) They waited a month before the new consoles come out so as not to negatively affect their sales, as a favor to their business partners Sony & Microsoft. This was one of the biggest hyped games, so an earlier announcement wouldve slowed their presales. 2) This goes to show that Nintendo’s own delays can happen to anyone & 3) it makes the Wii u more appealing as the PS4 & Xbox One don’t have any great exclusives IMO.

  • Carlos

This game got delayed just because the xbox one and ps4 versions were a piece of crap. The game is ready and look amazing in current gen and wii u.

  • Stephen Davis

I have never known many major releases to make an appearance in the spring. Just wait, this is GTAV hype all over again. (that was supposed to release this year in the spring as well) I don’t think we will see it released until fall 2014 now.

  • Guest

Pfff….Stupid Ubisoft… well back to collecting dust for my Wii U -____- *sigh*

  • Kmac

Pfff… stupid Ubisoft… oh well I guess my Wii U will collect more dust! *sigh* -____-
