nintendo-holidays

Last week we told you that Nintendo was headed to malls across the country and popping up kiosks where attendees can play Nintendo 3DS and Wii U games. We showed you the list of games that would be available and the main Nintendo site had a preliminary list of malls that would be on the tour, but we now have a finalized list of all the official sites. Here’s the full location list for the Nintendo Mall Experience heading to locations from November 25th to December 23rd.

  • Concord, NC
  • Culver City, CA
  • Santa Clara, CA
  • Natick, MA
  • Plano, TX
  • Indianapolis, IN

In addition, select Nintendo characters will be visiting certain locations on certain days, so you can have your picture taken with Mario, Luigi, or Pikachu. Not all locations are receiving a visit from a character and locations that are will only be visited by a specific character, so you’ll need to check the main website in order to know which characters are heading where.

Will you be checking out a mall in one of these locations to play games?

    • Ducked

      Are you in the UK?

      • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

no, I’m in wisconsin. closest one is schaumberg IL, so its a bit of a trip. sucks because a few years back I used to live within walking distance of the chandler one

        • Ducked

Oh, that’s a bummer. I’m in va, so I’m like near an hour between two.

        • Jon

closer than me, Canada doesn’t even get this :(

        • Zorlac79

That is funny, as I lived in Chandler during my younger years, then in northern Illinois (right at the Wisconsin border) for the last few years.

          • https://twitter.com/Zorpix_Fang Zorpix

wow XD And our usernames start with the first 3 letters :P

  • Ducked

    Arlington Va, here I come!

  • Jack5221

Still waiting for the central america tour -.-

  • http://www.gamesobscura.com/ themizarkshow

One of those is actually sorta kinda close to me. MAYBE I CAN MEET LUIGI!!!

  • Sdudyoy

There aren’t any close enough for me, although I probably wouldn’t go even if there was one close enough.

  • Mitch Hall

Concord is about a 40 minute drive from my house… maybe I’ll go.

    • Noah Hood

Lucky. Concord is almost a 3 hour drive from my house. :P

      • jjbredesen

Concord is about 15 Hour flight away from where my house…

  • Nintendofreak

why plano tx its only 200k people but in el paso tx its a million u.u

    • TheAquacharger

The DFW metroplex is a much bigger area that they need to hit, however they chose the smallest city in the DFW metroplex

  • Eduardo

What they need is good tv commercials. This won’t help too much.

    • D.M.T

30 seconds long TV commercials won’t help much either. They need both TV commercials and this type of marketing to sell the Wii U. I saw commercials in theaters as well which is also good marketing.

    • Brandon Gardner

They really need a HUGE marketing push period to tell people why the Wii U is the “Best” choice for families this holiday season…. Everywhere needs to be Wii U advertisement especially withe the Xbox One and PS4…. I appreciate them going to the malls but it needs to be at every major mall there is…. Nintendo needs to take it up a huge notch or they will be getting left behind….

    • ShilaquilOneal

The whole idea behind these events is to let people try the Wii U.

Nintendo feels that unless they allow people to play games using the GamePad, that they will not fully understand why it is something that they would want in their homes.

So this is actually a good idea. A 30 second add will never get that message across as actually trying it in person.

  • UltimateKai453

The NJ one is close enough to me.

  • MujuraNoKamen

How about some new demos for Europe? we got the 1st demo station which had a total of 2 playable demos and haven’t had the WW/Kart/3D World demos NA had after E3.
Set up demo stations with Kart (everyone loves Kart), 3D world (this Years Killer App), WW (for hardcore gamers and it shows Off-TV play), Nintendoland (families will love it) and a Bayo 2 demo (Mature gamers will dig it, it’s a new[ish] IP to show it’s not all the same old franchises, and it would be the icing on the cake showing how broad the appeal is of Wii U)

    • therealruben1

nintendoland doesnt have off tv play

      • Germany

actually…. it is half and half

      • MujuraNoKamen

Woops :) I meant to put that by WW, never mind it’s fixed now
        – thanks.

  • CEObrainz

“Not all locations are receiving a visit from a character and the characters will not be available at all locations”

Are you not saying the same thing twice?

    • http://about.me/overlordror Ashley King

My apologies, I updated for clarification. I meant to say that of the locations receiving character visits, it’s only going to be one, not all three.

  • Rugmouse

Bloomington, MN indicates that this tour will hit Mall of America, with Luigi being present on Dec. 6th, 7th, and 8th. Too bad they couldn’t work it out so the tour hit the largest mall over Thanksgiving and Black Friday, but the week after should still see a good amount of traffic. I may even try to get there and see what it looks like.

  • John Andalora

Pity. None are even remotely close to me.

  • Geek_Daddy

way to avoid the north east!

  • andrewjcole

    What about Canada?

  • Kay Wrobel

    That’s Schaumburg, Il not Schaumberg.

  • yienwae

Trying to determine which mall is in Santa Clara, CA….. Only one I can think of is the Great Mall, but that’s more in Milpitas… Unless there is a mall I do not know about.

    • Entropyguy

Valley Fair is sort of half in San Jose, half in Santa Clara.

      • yienwae

Ah. Thanks. That might be it then. Now, if I can talk my wife into going out that way for some reason so that me and my son can go check this out…… :)

  • Ganjabriel Del Campo

What about San Diego ca ??

  • readypembroke

Just looked it up and the Bloomington, MN has a 99.9% chance of being at the Mall of America as the mall is at Bloomington. Smart selection Nintendo, smart selection.

  • fireheartis1

Dang it NM always gets left out. Why can’t they go to our biggest town Albuquerque and show of the Wii U. It’s big enough for them to do it, but yet every company forgets about New Mexico. Oh well, hopefully the commercials will start poring in and the Wii U will get the sells it deserves.

  • elbrody

I’m pretty sure that Culver City has more than one mall and all of them have a center court,or am I wrong?

  • Ryushi

I would go to one of these! IF only Nintendo ever came to Colorado :(

  • HypocritesRROD

Beware! This guy might show up…

    • Eduardo

      Lol

  • TheAquacharger

He’s right. Especially for the DFW area. Somewhere like Ft. Worth, Dallas, Grapevine, or Arlington would’ve been much bettter areas. They’re all much more populated (except Grapevine, they just have a huge mall) then Plano and are close enough that a drive between those wouldn’t be too bad since there’s at least stuff to do in each of those respective cities.
