Emily Rogers says Ubisoft isn’t discussing Wii U Watch Dogs [RUMOR]

watch-dogs-header

Noted rumor leaker Emily Rogers has been in contact with Ubisoft about the Wii U version of Watch Dogs and the results aren’t very good. Last week rumors leaked across the Internet that the Wii U version of the game was cancelled, but GameStop stated this was due to a glitch in their system for pre-orders. Emily Rogers paints a different story though, saying Ubisoft themselves refuse to discuss the version for the Wii U.

Of course this is tagged a rumor as it’s hearsay from someone not involved with the company, but it should be noted that Ms. Rogers has been right about several things such as unified accounts and update times for both Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

The truth with finally come out with Ubisoft’s financial results, I suppose. What do you think? Is Ubisoft abandoning the Wii U or are people jumping to conclusions here?

Ive read this already on several other sites, That aside if it don’t come it don’t come but people will lose faith in ubisoft, there on thin ice after the rayman incident only time will tell.

  • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

    Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LightupmyLife

I just go by “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

  • Andrew Chambers

Maybe it’s because Ubisoft has taken the Nintendo stance on not commenting on speculation and rumors during this whole ordeal?

  • Frankie

Well Ubisoft’s game generally are bad, and they bring even worse ports to the Wii U. So why would anyone buy their games on the Wii U. They should make better games before they blame consumers for not buying their games.

    • Andrew Clear

Because playing their games with the Wii U game pad is much better than playing them with a controller. Their menu systems are horrible, and having to constantly open it to equip a dumb ass horse, and then unequip it sucks (I know, there will not be horses in watch dogs, but I am sure some people know which games I am referring too.)

      • Frankie

Exactly Ubisoft is the most overrated Triple A company.

    • Sydney Ultrasyd

Rayman Legends is a great game, and makes much better use of the Gamepad than Mario. Assassin’s Creed games are nice too even if not perfect. I also enjoyed Splinter Cell. If only Nintendo can make good games, so let’s stop complaining about the lack of 3rd party support, OK ?

      • Frankie

I said generally, that means that most of the time their games are bad. Fry Cry 3 was the best game of 2012 in my opinion. Assassin’s Creed is average and is a rehash every year. Blacklist is not Splinter Cell, but an action game with stealth elements. Jade Raymond ruined that franchise. Ubisoft is overrated deal with it.

        • Deadpool U

          No just no.

  • Daniel Gonzalez

Rumor or not, it doesn’t do much to keep dwelling on it. All I can say is, we’ll all find out in due time. I’m sure Watch Dogs isn’t the only game on people’s minds.

    • Magnus Eriksson

Lol, when you own a Wii U it translates to loosing 20% of all games in 2014. I think its sad. Sad, but I dont blame them. Ubi have supported Wii U much more than they needed to, and Nintyfans have been ungrateful as usual. If Nintendo have ANY respect towards their fans they should discontinue the Wii U, or atleast stop producing anymore. They have tricked too many to buy this junk already.

      • gamerofallplatforms

Maybe ubisoft shouldn’t have cut features from the Wii U version of their games, maybe then those games would of sold well on Wii U, Ubisoft shouldn’t have back stabbed Wii U owners with Rayman by having them wait another 5 or 6 months for a game that was already completed, then said that they would give the Wii U version exclusive dlc, but then gives the PS Vita the same dlc plus more minus skins(which is does nothing for the game anyways). So ubisoft not doing well on Wii U is their own damn fault, they shot themselves on the foot.
Discontinue the Wii U? only a moron would say that. Discontinueing a console will make consumers loose faith in the brand, and loose faith in future products produced by that company(that’s what happened to Sega).

        • Marcus Larsson

          Then why didnt zombieu sell?

          • Sydney Ultrasyd

I think people downvoting like that don’t really love Nintendo :D Zombie U didn’t sell well, period. It’s fact. How can one deny that ? They didn’t get any $$$ with that game. Maybe the reason why they won’t make anything exclusive or Wii U, or they would be dumb.
If you don’t agree with that statement, GO BUY THE DAMN GAMES.

          • audi lover

Zombie u only took me just over 10hrs and 6 survivers not really a A game by any standards, needed alot more work so maybe its there fault for not pushing the development don’t blame the consumer for not buying a game there simply not interested in

          • Marcus Larsson

ZombieU was pushed for the wii u-release they’ve admitted that.
Still 10 hrs doesn’t say anything Mario 3d world is between 12-16 hrs

          • LightupmyLife

Very well said. To be fair, I don’t see how downvoting matters. The truth will always shine through no matter how much you try to bury it. I love Nintendo, but I’m not blinded by their mistakes. Lol.

          • nexxus6

ZombiU’s attachment rate for a launch title wasn’t that bad.

        • Sydney Ultrasyd

“They shot themselves in the foot”… I don’t agree. We could say the same about Nintendo. “Ubisoft not doing well, their own damn fault”… And Wii U isn’t doing well, whose fault ? Ubi offered a great support for Wii U, but it doesn’t pay-off. Zombie U didn’t sell well, and they made it specially for the Wii U. The install base is too weak or people don’t care about such games, I don’t know … Why would they spend more time developing a game if nobody is going to buy it anyway ?
          That’s sad but it’s life.

I’m just buying almost all the decent games and Wii U, this is how you can support Nintendo. I won’t cry for the lack of a poor multiplayer mode.

          • Marcus Larsson

Finally someone who understands how it works.
If nintendo wanted to succeed they should’ve bought the rights for watchdogs while they had the chance…

        • matthew garcia

Its not backstabbing its business. Wii u is not selling as well as they liked and they have to make money. Ubisoft is probably thinking if its worth the effort

        • Magnus Eriksson

Everyone have already lost faith in Nintendo. The last nail in the coffin was the talk about blue oceans and fitness console. Your hero Iwata have destroyed the brand, and all of you fanboys celebrated him while he did so. The only dignified thing to do is prevent others from wasting their money. Therefore Nintendo should end production, discontinue the product, drop out of console market, sell all their IP’s and use the money on fitness studios. Either you should dedicate yourself, or realize that there are others who can do your job instead.

      • Nintenjoe82

it wasn’t a trick, there really is a new Miyamoto IP being made for the gamepad that is so good that everyone at Nintendo has been distracted playing it and missed all the deadlines to get any games ready.

Please understand, e3 2017 will explain everything

        • Magnus Eriksson

Yes, we must be patient, thats true. E3 2017 will expose all Nintendo haters.

        • oontz

          Ha ha ha.. gold.

  • Drunken Reggie

We secured a deal with Ubisoft to bring Watch Dogs 2 to the Wii U exclusively. Watch Dogs 3 is pending. We are certain Nintendo fans will be thrilled.

    Reggie

    • Simon Stevens

Well I’m not, these aren’t the games I wanna see, too mature, Ubisoft are toilet, pester Square Enix to give us a Dragon Quest game, perhaps fund Capcom for a new Okami game?, no more of this generic bs Reggie my man.

      • bd-lt-dnkr

        B-b-b-buut, it’s got hacking!

        • Simon Stevens

They should make a Rayman game were he hacks stuff, like Rayman secret agent or something, certainly don’t need ubisofts new age generic bs, if this was beyond good and evil dawgs I’d buy it but it’s not >.> because there meanies

    • GABRIEL GARCIA

Update: As it turns out, we do not have an official statement from Ubisoft. Polygon sources a Reuters article which does not specifically mention the Wii U version’s status.
Original: Despite Ubisoft’s relative silence on the matter, Watch Dogs is indeed still slated for Wii U.

      http://nintendoeverything.com/ubisoft-says-watch-dogs-is-still-coming-to-wii-u-trademark-abandonment-likely-not-a-big-deal/

      • GABRIEL GARCIA

“I think Nintendo have this [negative view] imposed on them and it’s driven by a lot of the media, and the media drives perception,” he said. “Nintendo are getting a lot of bad press and PR and as soon as anything negative is out there it’s a media frenzy. It diminishes what they’ve actually done. If you look at 3DS as a format, it has done very well last year – had that sort of performance been with Microsoft or Sony, my personal opinion is that everybody would be thinking ‘wow, what a fantastic job’. Because it’s Nintendo and they’ve been embroiled in this negative PR frenzy, everyone thinks it’s a dying format. It’s absolutely not.”
        http://nintendoeverything.com/amazon-nintendo-is-here-to-stay-and-nintendo-will-do-very-well-this-year/

    • GABRIEL GARCIA

Although an application had been filed for the abandonment of one of Ubisoft’s main Watch Dogs trademarks in the US, it turns out the request was fraudulent.
      http://nintendoeverything.com/watch-dogs-trademark-abandonment-was-a-fraudulent-request/

    • Nope.avi

      Go home Reggie, you’re drunk!

  • Dylan Clark

eh ill buy the xb1 version with the best graphics for console

    • Deadpool U

      cough*graphics whore!*cough

      • Dylan Clark

lol hey my opinion think what you want!

      • oontz

So I take it you still watch VHS tapes on an old black and white CRT television?

        • Deadpool U

Sometimes yes I do but buying a game specifically for one console because of the graphics isn’t something I that I like.

          • oontz

So if a movie was released on VHS and Bluray for the same money… you wouldn’t buy the bluray version? Just trying to understand your logic.

          • nexxus6

That is a poor comparison. The differences between VHS tech and Blu-ray tech is so much different than that of WiiU and PS4.

          • oontz

            “That is a poor comparison.”

Not really, it’s comparing two things that are visually different, one being better than the other. If you had a choice between two things and one is visually better than the other, which one would you choose?

          • nexxus6

True, but you need to keep the comparison on par with the original objects in discussion. Thus, VHS compared to Blu-ray does not equate to Wiiu to PS4. Your statement is saying WiiU is like VHS and PS4 is like blu-ray. These items don’t relate. The gap in visuals between VHS and blu-ray is much wider than the gap in visuals between WiiU and PS4.

          • LightupmyLife

That’s his right. No one is stopping you from buying it on the Wii U. I don’t see the reason to attempt to stir up trouble. Lol.

          • oontz

exactly my point… why is he trying to stir up trouble for the original poster?? Calling someone a graphics whore is immature. If you are presented with two different versions of the same game, why would anyone choose the weaker version? If watch dogs does come out on wiiu, there has to be a really good reason for me to buy it, instead of buying it on PS4.

          • LightupmyLife

Exactly. All I see from the reply is basically typical fanboy behavior. I’m getting it for PS4 I think. As much as people are saying the gamepad makes it the better version, I don’t care for it. I always felt the gamepad takes you out of the experience when you have to revert your eyes from the TV to the touchscreen and so on. I think I’ll stick to the pro controller.

          • matthew garcia

If the graphics are better on one console then more time and effort went into that game. Why not buy that one and get the best bang for your buck

    • RyuNoHadouken

PS4 has “the best graphics for console.”

      • LightupmyLife

It’s certainly the best between the two powerhouses.

      • Dylan Clark

k im pretty sure the graphics r the same

        • oontz

The visual fidelity of games currently on the market show that PS4 is better.

        • LightupmyLife

I thought you said that the XB1 has the best graphics? Lol.

          • Dylan Clark

yes the XB1 has the best graphics and so does the PS4 and I only have XB1 not a ps4 so for me xb1 has the best graphics of my consoles

        • RyuNoHadouken

stop lying to yourself…PS4 is “50% more powerful” than Xbox One…EVERYBODY knows that…smh

  • Zuxs13

Here’s my problem with this. First Emily rogers, though well know, isn’t a “reputible company” that ubisoft would comment too on a rumor. And that’s the second part. She doesn’t say that what she probably asked them is “is the rumor of watch dogs being cancelled true? ” or something of that nature. And they don’t comment of rumors. Id be more concerned if she told us exactly what she asked them and if it didn’t refer to a rumor and they still won comment.

    • Nope.avi

Emily Rogers isn’t exactly reputable to begin with and people shouldn’t quote her.

  • steveb944

Should we be placing preorders to guarantee release? I am really looking forward to this title and I would hate Ubi if they didn’t deliver. They’ve been the best 3rd party thus far and this game just screams to be on Wii U due to the possibilities with the pad.

  • Gabe Hoffman

I doubt Ubisoft would do such a thing. The PR fallout nightmare if they did cancel it would be immense and it would damage Nintendo fans trust and confidence in Ubisoft even more. Remember that Ubisoft doesn’t comment on rumors or speculation

  • Viktor Araujo

I doubt, too much money already on it.

They maybe trying to make Nintendo to pay more for it or for a additional content, but thats it.

  • Tra Allen

It sounds like everyone is trying to team up and take Nintendo down. They know what a threat Nintendo is and want to end them. Nintendo keep that pimp hand strong.

    • LightupmyLife

Are fans this paranoid to really think everyone is out to destroy Nintendo? Be real buddeh. I’m sure you don’t honestly believe that.

      • Deadpool U

Well EA is it’s but confirmed by this point.

        • LightupmyLife

EA is destroying themselves. With any luck, they’ll find some new leadership.

          • LJay

No hopefully they’l just destroy themselves before they destroy whole industry

          • LightupmyLife

There’s been enough companies shutting down. Change of leadership will do. Lol.

    • Sydney Ultrasyd

I don’ agree. Can’t you just recognise that Nintendo made some mistakes ? Ubi soft made a lot of games for Wii U so far. They won’t keep on spending money on a system if it doesn’t pay off. Sad but simple.

    • nexxus6

I actually think many people in the industry are silently rooting for Nintendo’s demise.

  • Deadpool U

I don’t trust this Emily Rodgers I mean is Ubisoft even discussing any version of Watch Dogs?

    • Ace J

yeah. ubisoft always brings up the point that the ps3 and ps4 versions getting exclusive content.

  • Rick Valenta

That would be too bad. I was definitely looking forward to this.

  • darkcreap

If they cancelled it, they would have done it before. No sense when the development cycle is nearly ending. Furthermore, it was going to be released in November. If AC4 was due in November and it finally came, why not Watch dogs? All versions were delayed from November to Feb or March. If any should have been cancelled, surely Watch dogs should have too.

    These rumours are getting unnerving.

  • Marcus Larsson

Thank god i’ve decided to buy a ps4.
My wii u Will be collecting dust until Mario kart and then until Zelda.

Here is where nintendo should go in and throw any money on ubisoft to release it.
Nintendo can afford that and much more…

    • Lady Deadpool U
      • Marcus Larsson

Stop defending a company that doesnt do what is right and is only interested in your wallet…

        • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

ahh like Microsoft and Sony? that makes consoles with hardware problems for years?

          • readypembroke

            or EA!!!!

          • Marcus Larsson

Haha still they are outsold and third partys get the money they need to keep making new games for them…

Im just saying the wii u is for nintendo-games and party games nothing else is selling on it or the wii…
Thats why third party doesnt release anything for it…

          • matthew garcia

The more powerful the system the more its prone to break due to heating issues. Wii was pretty weak technically

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

Ninendo 64 get REAL hot with some games, i mine is a live.

apart of the heat, is the engineering in it.

          • matthew garcia

Another dumb mistake by nintendo with n64 sticking with the cartridge. They were expensive as hell. Ps1 disks were like 40 bucks brand new. N64 cartridge was like 70 bucks

          • oontz

I haven’t had any problems with my ps3 (5 years old) and no problems with my PS4… so what was your point?

          • LightupmyLife

To be the typical fanboy and follow the crazies on the site. The usual behavior.

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

That’s your case, and good to know, of course that not all the consoles came with problems, some of my friends have to change the PS3 3 times, and now the slim is working great, one co-worker change the first one this days (it turn off some minutes later of turn it on), some change the 360 just once and some have the first one. but that generation came with problems…
and i’m not the one that down vote you. :)

        • Lady Deadpool U

          We’re not talking about EA.

        • Levi Johansen

Nintendo does what is right and is only interested in making great games, unlike MicroTransactionSoft and PayStation

          • Marcus Larsson

All companies want your wallet but nintendo is the only one that doesnt dare to use their saved money to take chances…

          • LightupmyLife

            Great point.

          • RyuNoHadouken

            u mad bro?

          • LightupmyLife

With a response like that. Indeed.

          • Levi Johansen

Yes, I get mad when people spread lies and attack honest workers and protect the gready ones.

Being mad, what’s you’re point? – does that make me wrong?
            Retard!

          • LightupmyLife

No, calling people retard and making snide remarks makes you wrong. Lol.

“Nintendo does what is right and is only interested in making great games, unlike MicroTransactionSoft and PayStation”

Perfect example. It doesn’t make your opinion wrong, but it does make it wrong if you’re trying to pass this as a fact. Nintendo makes games, yes. However, they make those games to make money, just like Sony and Microsoft. So, that didn’t make sense. Everyone has their preferences, so I don’t see a reason to stir up trouble no matter who started it. ;)

          • Levi Johansen

Calling him retard does not make me wrong!

Nintendos record does prove it to be a fact that they are not gready and live to make great games, just like Microsofts and Sonys record prove the opposite – FACT!

This is not about preference, wheather you prefer PS4 or Xbox1 over Wii U does not change the fact that Nintendo is the most honest and upright and least gready company of the bunch.

          • LightupmyLife

Hahaha. Oh brother. Now I know you must be either a youngster or don’t understand business too well. No offense, or take offense to it I guess, that’s your choice. How about that VC? You don’t think charging people 5 dollars for an NES game that is over 20 years old is a bit much? The VC pricing is very flawed, and why do you think they are over priced? Greed. ;) Do you really believe Nintendo cares deeply about it’s fanbase?

They only care as much as long as those fans are buying their products. In other words, they don’t care about you at all, just your wallet. Same for Microsoft and Sony. I take no offense to that, because that’s business and that’s understandable.

So indeed, it is about preference. I don’t mind paying a fee to access free games and even willing to pay a little more for Playstation Now where I will have access to the PS1, PS2 and PS3 library or I can pay and install those games. There’s a lot to look forward to.

I love my Wii U, but it’s nowhere near perfect and has its work cut out too. I get you love it, but being blind to think that Nintendo isn’t greedy or thinking they care so much about you is foolish. Lol. In the end, all these companies want is your money, your loyalty so they can keep getting your money and your common sense. I was like you at one time and chose to ignore the truth, but you’ll come around someday. When you have a better understanding on how the business world is, you ‘ll learn not to take business ethics so seriously. Either you accept them, or you move on. There’s only two directions. Discriminating is childs play. ;)

          • Levi Johansen

I think the pricing for VC games is allright, some of the puzzlers could be cheaper, but for the most part the games are totally worth it.

To think that Nintendo is as gready as the rest is pure ignorance, if they were, then they would have acted like it – more DLC, subscription plans, and not so darn many discounts and offers for loyal fans.

The Wii U is far from perfect, that’s not the point at all. I’m talking about Nintendo as a company, and they are indeed perfect, they make mistakes and bad business decisions, but in the end they are still perfect because they make up for their mistakes in a fair, honest and noble way. Allways has and allways will.

Nintendo is not gready, they do not just want my money. They need to cover their expenses and they need more money to expand and make even more games, but that’s exactely what the money goes to, nothing else.

They actually would make more money if they would have marketing like the Sony and Microsoft, but that would be misleading, and Nintendo does not do that.

Just look at the Forza Microtransactions, that’s something they did not mention in the ads, that’s not honest, it is misleading advertisment, it’s cheap and gready. It’s Microsoft!

Nintendo could make a whole lot more money if they would do the same as Sony and Microsoft, but they won’t because they’re not gready.

Anyone who cannot see that this is true must truly be blind or extremely stupid.

        • LightupmyLife

You’re on a Nintendo related site, what were you expecting? I think your time is better spent on people who are willing to hear you out. Just my opinion. Lol. Good luck on here, though.

          • Marcus Larsson

Thanks much of my opinion is from frustration that I didn’t get as pleased with my wii u as I was hoping for.
I thought I would get gta V and watch dogs to play as well as my favorite Nintendo-titles.

          • LightupmyLife

I thought that too when Nintendo promised third party support prior to the release of the Wii U. A year later, I see little to none. People may blame those third parties, but Nintendo takes most of it for making such a promise. Naturally, people don’t wanna hear that.

          • RyuNoHadouken

i agree with you….the butt hurt is strong in here

          • LightupmyLife

Indeed. Especially those who make snide remarks and use gif images rather than bring up a strong argument. Lol. It’s really hard to have a proper discussion without the crazy fans. :)

          • RyuNoHadouken

            tell me about it…smh

          • Marcus Larsson

Yeah I started too check up selling numbers for the GameCube, wii, wii u on vgchartz and it was only Nintendo-titles that were bringing in the big selling numbers.

Even on wii which sold 100 million I would have thought some of the more action-oriented or original third party games would have gotten some amazing figures, but no.

The sad truth is that only Nintendo-titles and party games give money so it’s hard to see a future for third party-games on wii u and any future Nintendo-console.
And by not giving it similar specs as Sony and Microsoft it’s even harder for the companies to port the games.

          • LightupmyLife

Agreed. With all the money Nintendo has in their pockets, they won’t suffer much for taking a few risks with hardware. Even when there has been great third party games on Nintendo consoles, very few have sold well. Yet, fans complain when third party isn’t on the console. I love it.

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

third party support with incomplete games? and some old games at the same price that the one in older console

          • LightupmyLife

Sounds like the same excuse Nintendo fans make to try to strengthen an argument over what they feel are the same old games. Isn’t Pokemon the same old game each year? Isn’t Mario about the same basic formula each year? Sound familiar? Here, I’ll give you something that makes perfect sense and I feel you should read it.

            http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2014/01/31/opinion-lack-of-innovation-isn-39-t-a-problem.aspx

Perhaps this article will give you a different perspective on how you perceive those same old games. Be open-minded. :)

            NONONONONONO!!!

            YOU DON’T GET MY POINT!!!!!!!!!!!

i mean… Need For Speed Most Wanted U the game WAS ON THE MARKET, and it was the best port of all third but it WAS on the market, how do they wait to sell well?
Mass Efect 3 . . . and old game at the same time that the trilogy was on other platforms ?
            FIFA 13, NBA 13, NFL…. what else?
i don’t talk about the 25 years of Mario or the don’t know what of COD… of course they have to be alive if they still sell well. and the basic mechanic of each game have to be there in their next game… jum, run, take coins (Mario)… shoot, reload, run, spring, take some cover….(COD)… World of War Craft, Star Craft, all the games have something similar to the old one, the can’t do magic

I DON’T HAVE PROBLEM WITH THAT… and i’m not hater, i have COD G… mass effect, AC4, and for PC, Star craft 2, some other strategy games.

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

@LightupmyLife:disqus please, be honest, if you have a PS3 AND a 360, and you have a game that came with 3 games in a better price for ps3 and the xbox just take one of them at the same price… wish version you will buy?
wish FIFA you buy if the game came better for your 360?

    • LJay

      What?playing Fifa n battlefield?-awesome lol

      • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

        you mean, bugfield?

        • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

          omg… down votes?
so the game came with no bugs?

          • LightupmyLife

I’m gonna take a guess that your downvotes are from your “Bugfield” comment. It comes off as immature. What did you expect to happen? Lol.

      • Marcus Larsson

        Was that a question?
Dont like battlefield or call of duty, fifa might work but never buy full price and only one per generation.

If you missed it i Will keep my wii u but 2014 there is only one game im gonna buy for it besides vc-games

        • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

he mean that there’s few games for PS4 right now… that doesn’t mean that you can get it at the end of the year.

          • Marcus Larsson

I’ll probably get it in september, fact is that i know it will have a ton of games by the end of 2015.

Something i dont know with the wii u…

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

            That’s correct.

  • John

Great stuff, can’t wait to play this game.

  • Shy Guy

Posting in yet another “slow news day let’s write a blurb to stir up the conjecture mills and the hater squads some more” comment section.

  • Shy Guy

I wonder if Emily Rogers is related to Buck Rogers, that would be interesting.

  • Levi Johansen

This is ridiculous, Ubisoft would never abandon a console after so much work.

Watch Dogs is coming to Wii U, it’s the perfect system for it: No competition.
The other systems have GTA, Sleeping Dogs, and numerous others.
On Wii U there will only be Watch Dogs, atleast for some time – long enough to become a bestseller.

    • readypembroke

Exactly. They already burnt themselves by delaying Watch Dogs and they probably want every cent they can get their hands on.

    • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

      it’s a good point… i nver think of it

    • Sydney Ultrasyd

Maybe if they are very very late on that game, like VERY late, and they think the previous games didn’t sell well on Wii U, they think they’d better keep all their teams working on other versions to speed up the developement…
I don’t know, but that might be possible.
I really hope it won’t be canceled, one of the game I’m looking forward the most this year, and I just don’t wanna play it on PC.

      • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

They don’t loose to much time, they have all the textures and physics of the game on Wii U, the time that they more loose is at the beginning.

    • bizzy gie

No Just Cause or Saints Row either.

    • Dylan Clark

You know the Xbox one and PS4 are out now

      • Levi Johansen

Yes, I know this – what’s your point?

Read my comment again, you’ve clearly not understood it.

  • readypembroke

How do I get my Watch Dogs preorder back from GameStop? I went to the PowerUp Rewards website and it doesn’t have my preorder listed.

  • Nintenjoe82

How is ‘Ubisoft not discussing Watchdogs wii u’ any different to when they said nothing when the rumour started.?

  • companyoflosers

they r too far along in wii u version development to just quit in my opinion. it cant be a compatibility thing as watch dogs appears to run on a similar engine to assassins creed. if they really have doubt in the wii u version selling well, just distribute it in small amounts at a time. cover pre orders then allow for a few extra copies per retailer and then allow it to be downloadable via nintendo eshop to cut down on having to manufacture and ship disks. that way, even if watch dogs does poorly on wii u, they take a minimal loss and will probably even make a little back. if it ends up doing well, they can just ramp up production and make the game appear to be in demand to those who didnt pre order.

  • long_dong_donkey_kong

My willingness to invest in future Ubisoft games depends on their willingness to invest in Nintendo. Assassin’s Creed III was crap, but Rayman was awesome. I was looking to give AC IV and Watch Dogs a shot during the Donkey Kong to Mario Kart drought, but if they cancel Watch Dogs, I’m out on both for all of my systems.

  • matthew garcia

Wii u badly needs rpgs. Nintendo does great with rpgs on handhelds but need more console games. I love rpgs that are 40 or more hours to beat. Great value for your money

    • Sydney Ultrasyd

      X !

      • matthew garcia

Definately I loved xenoblade. I payed like 120.00 for it lol

        • LightupmyLife

Damn….no way would I pay that much for a game. Lol.

          • matthew garcia

Lol its a rare excellent game that didnt get the chance it deserved. Its a hard game to find but trust me its worth it. I put over a 100 hours in it and the story still progresses excellently

          • LightupmyLife

Lol. I’ll pass on that price. Maybe one day when I’m wealthier.

    • readypembroke

Would be awesome if 2K makes a Wii U version of Bioshock!

      • matthew garcia

Bioshock is a great game and I would welcome it

        • readypembroke

and make Metroid Prime Trilogy HD also. It should be on disc and download. Make a ad or two about it and show it during shows like Big Bang Theory.

      • Rinslowe

Waaaaa Head Explodes…. Yes to that idea. Gamead support…. Miiverse integration….
        :)

        • readypembroke

          Maybe 60FPS?

  • Andrew Gonzalez

I don’t think Ubisoft has discussed any of the versions besides XBone and PS4. If Ubi does axe the wii U version I’m done with that company.

    • Dylan Clark

      like they would care lol

  • https://www.facebook.com/BlueLightningTechnicalServices Bob Wilkerson

At this point it is still available for pre-order and listed on the Ubisoft Watchdogs website as coming to the Wii U so I say everyone is jumping to conclusions based off of a store in one country having an error in removing it for one day.

    • NkoSekirei

the rumor was debunked so watch dogs is still coming to the wii u

  • Shaise

Umm…..It’s already confirmed. A Wii U version. So what if they’re not discussing it.

    • LightupmyLife

Just because it’s confirmed, doesn’t mean it’s not prone to being canceled. The fact that they aren’t discussing it is a bit odd.

    • 00EpicGamer00

Just because a game is “confirmed” to be on the Wii U, doesn’t mean it actually will be when it comes out. Look at Aliens Colonial Marines, it was confirmed to be on Wii U at first, but then got cancelled. And yes, I am aware it was cancelled due to the game performing bad on other consoles, but that’s not the point I’m trying to make here.

Now, I don’t think Watch Dogs is canceled or anything, I’m just letting you know not to ALWAYS trust the word “confirmed.”

  • abe

They best not canceled it. After the rayman legends screw up. Since then I’ve bought ubi games exclusively for Wii u and have increasingly crewed over. Rayman delay, ZombiU ditching support, local co-op removed from splinter cell, assassins creed 4 DLC, assassins creed liberation, Valiant hearts missing from our console

  • http://www.mpt-online.eu/ Sylux

Not sure what to think of this rumor, although she has been right before, but Ubisoft has been a great supporter for Nintendo so far as well as for the WiiU, I suppose only time will tell what will happen with it.

  • FIreproof_actual

….reaching. Nintendo not commenting to Emily Rogers is hardly notable. Next story please.

  • TrueWiiMaster

Why would they comment to her?

Also, this would only matter if they would comment to her on the other versions. If they’re staying quiet on all versions, it doesn’t matter at all.

  • GregoryTheRainMaker

Trying to create drama is pathetic like in this situation.

  • thomas stevenson

It was delayed to optimize the x1 and ps4 versions. They , ay not be working on the wiiu version at the moment because it along with ps3@360 versions mightnbe finished

  • leo

oo hell no not my watchdogs. Nintendo get your ass in there

  • Rinslowe

The thing to remember here is that Emily Rogers (indeed a very articulate and well connected gaming journalist) was correct on – some – previous Nintendo rumours in the past because certain contacts in Nintendo provided her with that information. Which from memory she credited at the time. It may just be that Ubisoft are not talking Wii U Watch Dogs with her specifically because they know her reputation for letting the cat out of the bag without any thought to whether or not Nintendo wants that information or any information public knowledge at this point in time. We all know how Nintendo is with keeping a tight lid on all things related to titles on their systems, until they’re ready. That and Ubisoft are a pretty good partner for them, for the most part…IMO. So professionalism?
Could be way off with that. Just a guess…

  • Will W

Well, if Watch Dogs (Watch_Dogs?) isn’t coming to the Wii U, it’d be a shame. It’s the only version that didn’t require an extra $250 smart phone.

  • Donaald
  • NkoSekirei

i think people are jumping into conclusions and i hardly doubt watch dogs for wii u will be canceled.

  • Sheldon Williams

I want to get this for the Wii U so I hope they don’t pull out on the Wii U version. I don’t have a PS4 or Xbox one and I plan on getting neither any time soon. I’m sure it will look great on the Wii U and I would like to think they would implement the game pad some how. However even if they didn’t I would still get it for the Wii U.

  • GABRIEL GARCIA

    HERE haters!!!

Amazon: “Nintendo is here to stay and Nintendo will do very well this year”
“I think Nintendo have this [negative view] imposed on them and it’s driven by a lot of the media, and the media drives perception,” he said.
    Nintendoeverything.com

  • GABRIEL GARCIA

    http://nintendoeverything.com/watch-dogs-trademark-abandonment-was-a-fraudulent-request/

Although an application had been filed for the abandonment of one of Ubisoft’s main Watch Dogs trademarks in the US, it turns out the request was fraudulent.

  • GABRIEL GARCIA

Sony UK boss Fergal Gara, in an interview with Trusted Reviews, made note of how Nintendo declining “could be detrimental to the market”. Gara believes that the company caters well to the younger demographic – something Sony doesn’t focus on in a major way.
    He said:

  • nexxus6

It wouldn’t be WiiUdaily without the daily negative news story. Way to stick to your guns WiiUdaily!!! I love how now stories with no factual basis to them are their top leads.

    • Rob

      Lashing out is not cool.

  • SkullScience

Wait, so Ubisoft have an official policy of ‘not commenting on rumours’ and then Emily Rogers breaks the news that Ubisoft are not commenting on rumours of it not coming to Wii U. Wow, what amazing research by Emily. I wish I had her job!

    • WellWisher

What IS Emily Roger’s job exactly?

      • SkullScience

To quote “Writes stuff about Nintendo at a small blog called @Dromble with a few other writers. Also writes for @NintendoForce”
Stirrer of the brown stuff I would say!!! Factual research doesn’t appear to come into it. If so she would have known Ubi do NOT comment on rumours EVER!!

  • lazo

wii u is the experimental platform of succes games, at least 2 games we`re first showed for the wii u and then after some time they we`re made for other platforms because it started interest. nintendo should ask alot of money from these companies that went and made the games for other platforms

    • Brandon

      Like what?

  • LightupmyLife

Were you given a reason? You’ll get a response more likely if you contact the site admins.

  • Deadpool U

That was you? I knew truthteller was off he wasn’t talking Wii U being discounted by march or misusing propaganda it makes sense now.

  • Deadpool U

Are you sure because didn’t truthteller have like 5 accounts? You can probably just post from this account.

  • LightupmyLife

I do feel bad for him, but impersonating someone who is hated around here wasn’t a smart move.

  • darkcreap

Don’t understand a thing. Why has he been banned? jjbredesen hasn’t got a history of trolling. Just the opposite. This is so weird.

  • LightupmyLife

Well, he did impersonate Truthteller, so I can only assume that the admins are now under the impression, that he is Truthteller. To be fair though, it wasn’t smart to impersonate someone of his kind. I feel bad for the guy and hope he can get his name cleared, but I think that’s one user he should have left alone.

  • darkcreap

So I understood well the first time, he impersonated Truthteller??? What a stupid move. I thought I had it all wrong the first time I read it.

I do not think he was the real Truthteller. Should he have been, they might have detected that he was two users at the same time long ago and banned all the accounts in the first time.

I hope he clears his name too. If he’s done wrong, he’d better apologise.

  • LightupmyLife

I hope he does too. I don’t think he was the real one either. If he truly was however all this time, then his chances are very slim. I think he has a few impersonation accounts such as one of the Reggie’s, but I think he’s taking it a bit far at this point.

  • Arthur Jarret

    Too bad,

I’m currently banned from miiverse myself for posting ‘Some people are like slinkies. They’re not really good for anything, but they still make you smile when you push them off a flight of stairs’, so that ruins the next eshop update, I guess – I hope you can keep using this account, I never mind reading your comments.
