Check out this comparison between Super Smash Bros. and SSB: Brawl

Masahiro Sakurai has gone to great lengths to show off the graphical improvements of the current Super Smash Bros. game in development for the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. The enterprising folks at NeoGAF have done a bit of sleuthing work of their own in order to compare character models between Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii, and the new version being developed for Wii U. Can you spot the differences below? Click the picture to see it in full size.

Additionally, they’ve taken the characters and put them in a size chart to try and determine what characters will look like when fighting each other. According to this chart, Bowser and King Dedede still reign supreme in terms of bulk, but it’s surprising to see Rosalina is nearly as tall as Bowser himself.

Gotta say, I was surprised! I can officially say that I will be buying SSBU this on day 1. :D
I decided after I heard Little Mac is in the roster. *-*

    (Just saying because… why not? :) )

  • TheWichi

Doesn`t look that diferent but in motion Im sure it looks totally superior!

    • Gameonfool

This pic does the game no justice, it does look good in motion

      • Daniel Gonzalez

Indeed. Some video would have sufficed.

        • Gameonfool

Yeah this pic comparison ( this particular one ) does nothing.

          • ReggieRegis

Really? I think it makes the Wii U one look worlds better.

          • Gameonfool

Pics of wii u games never look as good as they really do in action for some reason. This pic does look better but seeing the game in motion the difference is more night and day.

        • jjbredesen

And you also have the fact that the Wii version of the pic, is taken in a darker area with shadows the makes brawl look a bit better, because the Wii U pic has no shadows on the face because it is so light.

          • MerryBlind .

And the fact it’s running in HD off the Dolphin Emulator. The actual Wii version looks much worse than that.

    • MerryBlind .

The Brawl pic is running in HD through Dolphin Emulator, on an actual Wii, it looks much worse than that, which means Smash U looks drastically better than it.

  • Daniel Gonzalez

Very good graphics in the Wii U. It caught up to PS3. Well done Nintendo.

    • Gameonfool

Smash u looks better than ps3 but thanks for your irrelevant comment

      • oontz

Looks to be on par with ps3.. But graphics dont matter right? That’s what everyone always says on here anyways.

        • Gameonfool

Sure but it’s an article comparing graphics really, so we gonna talk about graphics.

          • oontz

But really this game could look like the gamecube version, and that’d be okay right? Cause it’s about gameplay not graphics. Nintendo fans aren’t graphic whores… right?

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Most put up that front, but when articles pop up like this, they’re exposed.

          • Gameonfool

No it wouldn’t be ok if it looked liked the GameCube version graphics do matter, it’s just not the most important. Nintendo fans had to defend the wii from graphic morons saying oh the games are crap because the graphics are not as good which is not true it had some good games, so obviously They had to defend it with great gameplay arguments. Nintendo fans do prefer gameplay over graphics but that doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t mind very good graphics too, it’s the icing on the cake.

        • Daniel Gonzalez

Yep. That’s what is mentioned most of the time. Then, when you point out graphics aren’t anything ground breaking, people put up an argument over it. I love it.

          • oontz

            exactly.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

Not really. This can easily be done on PS3 too. So my comment is quite relevant. No one here is pointing out that the game is bad, as I know it’ll have great gameplay and fun experiences. Visual wise, it’s nothing I haven’t seen before.

        • Gameonfool

PS3 wouldn’t be able to run this game this crisp at 60fps. Another irrelevant comment.

    • OhBoy

Oh, you’re a clever faggot. Trolling is for children, leave us adults here to discuss such subjects. Also, yes, you are indeed a faggot.

      • Gameonfool

More like a maggot, not to pretty when you see them but can’t do much harm and they eat dead flesh or in his case makes dead comments

        • Daniel Gonzalez

          You’re very welcome.

        • OhBoy

No, a faggot, he’s worth more as firewood than his current state.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

            You are too generous bro.

          • matthew garcia

Ha someone else could easily think your the faggot for liking a game that has children graphics lol. Pust last of us on ps3 still looks better then smash bros cartoon

          • Nintendo Dragon

So what? I’m tired of hearing about Last of Us :/ so what? Graphics don’t make a game it’s the gameplay. I am so tired of this graphics oriented generation. Even the developers are. Do you realize how much more they could do if their games stayed at 640p and uder? having games run at 1080p limits the developers greatly.

          • matthew garcia

No cuz last of us actually has a great emotional and intense story unlike wii u games that just save the princess

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Too true. Saving the princess is about as tedious as a CoD game every year.

          • Donaald

Yeah, you casuals prefer interactive movies rather than real videogames, the AI in the ass of us is retarded but don’t take from me, take it from the evidence ;)

          • Daniel Gonzalez

My my. So much anger. I like this comment as it’s really out there and quite comical. Thank you for the amusement. ;)

          • Donaald

The typical “never happened to me” Damage Control line that never gets old http://cdn.yourepeat.com/media/gif/000/076/521/a6c84fc0f86c78a8f150985655ae762b.gif

          • Daniel Gonzalez

The typical “you casuals prefer interactive movies rather than real videogames” Damage Control line that never gets old.

          • Donaald

Except it’s not damage control when you state facts, dumbfuck

          • Daniel Gonzalez

A few mishaps doesn’t make it a fact. Lol. It means that a handful of unfortunate gamers experience problems with AI in the game. Most of us never experience anything but a few frame rate issues. By your logic, that makes your previous damage control comment irrelevant. Nice job contradicting your own statements. I’d call you names too, but I’m over that childish phase. Poor muffin. ;P

          • Donaald

That video proves it’s a fact, and there are several other videos. Nice job contradicting yourself. And BTW where am I angered? You’re the one who came to damage control a response that wasn’t for you in the first place, so you’re the one who clearly got asshurt when someone said something negative about your gheym. LMAO still Wii U Mad tho?

          • matthew garcia

Ha its more like u children like games that have bland stories with cartoon graphics where the characters make wierd immature noises that u hope nobody walks in and sees u playing. Probably why wii u is selling like crap

          • Donaald

LMAO is more like retards like playing games with no gameplay value like those sony and microsoft release these days, Wii U mad?

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Lol. Leave him to his anger. Anyone who calls other games interactive movies apparently is very closed-minded. Either they’re Nintendo diehards or haven’t experienced many good games on other consoles. It’s a pity, but their loss. ;P

          • Capt. Smoker

Emotional and intense?, it was a good game but I don’t remember it touching my heart or bringing me to tears, I agree the Wii U needs more story driven games, could do without Ellen Page rip offs though.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

It was a rather good game overall. I didn’t get emotional at all either, but the story did leave a good impression. It’s certainly not the best game gameplay wise, but the story and overall mood it created was enough for most people who enjoyed it. Ellen Page rip off or not, her likeness worked well for Ellie.

          • Capt. Smoker

I enjoyed it, but I ain’t gonna big it up to be one of the best, certainly doesn’t compare to any of the uncharted games, yet people claim it to be the best Naughtydog has, at first I thought it was Ellen Page lol I wasn’t too keen on the main characters though, loved the setting of the game but in a setting like that, I love a bad ass, Joel was far from it, he was a real Debbie downer

          • Arthur Jarret

I like it, don’t love it as well.
I found Uncharted 3 to be a lot more amazing – and with 3D support to boot!

          • Capt. Smoker

Uncharted 3 was probably the best, I loved the sense of adventure and the fact anything could happen, so it kept things fresh with the unique ability to always surprise you, I’ll buy a ps4 once uncharted 4 rears it’s head :)

          • Nintendo Dragon

I don’t care. I can go watch a movie if I want great emotional and intense stories. Don’t get me wrong I’m glad Naughtydog has done super well. I’m just tired of hearing about that one PS3 game. Halo has a deep emotional and intense story. I don’t rub it in every ones face do I? It’s just about fun they are Like I seriously have not heard about any other playstation 3 games until the end of it’s life cycle, which guess what game it was LOU You seriously missed the entire point of my comment it was about gameplay not story or anything related to cutscenes. Nintendo games may not have the best stories but I feel something about that is going to change soon. But whatever guess I’m going to save a princess or two, but then again you missed the point of my comment, so I’m not surprised you weren’t able to comprehend other games on a system that aren’t about doing that. I mean Samus is not a princess and she is certainly not saving a princess.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

It’s a learning experience for them. The industry grows and so do the developers. If they can’t handle it, then they are in the wrong business. Go big or go home. Times have changed. We aren’t in the 90’s anymore.

          • Nintendo Dragon

I’m not saying they hate it. I’m saying that some are tired of having to be limited by this. if they tuned down the resolution they could do a lot more. By not having to spend so much time making sure their game is going to run at 60fps at 1080p. Making any game no matter what the resolution is a learning experience. I mean you can’t tell me having the best graphics and the best frame rate is not going to limit some other aspects of the game. 60fps lets you put a lot more animations and things happening in the background. What I am saying is having a game run at 60fps is more important than running it at any 420p 720p 1080p 12337483202389087p it doesn’t matter. Just make good games that’s the important thing. You can’t sit there and say every best selling game was beautiful I mean look at Final Fantasy 13 vs the sales of Minecraft. yeah that’s all I’m ranting now XD

          • Donaald

Yeah, you mean one of the many sub-hd games with boring art-style on the PS3

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Last of Us is one of the best made games from Sony and Naughty Dog outdid themselves with it. Perhaps it’s a game that doesn’t interest you, but I wouldn’t call it a bad game by any means. That’s like me calling Smash Bros a poor quality franchise. He was making a point, and the poster above took teasing too seriously. Looks like you did too. Chillax bro. :)

          • Donaald

You missed the point, I didn’t say it was a bad game, I just said it’s boring.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Well, Nintendo games have the same basic art style for years. So I take it you don’t like games that have realism?

      • Lusunup

Faggot is a harsh word wouldn’t you say? besides that saying leave it to adults wouldn’t classify you as one when you just cussed out, I’m not trying to through you under, because obviously Daniel is at fault to for trying to troll. Which I would say is childish just like the smash community with all the lame meme’s.

      • Matt Cameron

You have no right to use that word. It’s an awful word in the same vein as the “n word”. Using that word just makes you seem like an uneducated jackass.

        • Nintendo Dragon

How fucking dare you disrespect the word Jackass you homo………………… sapian…….

          • Genesect4ssb4

            *Homo sapiens sapiens

            I just had to.

          • Arthur Jarret

The most arrogant description any animal has ever used for himself… I’m still calling us “Homo plumbeus argumentum”.

The internet seems to prove it.

          • Nintendo Dragon

It’s okay. I wasn’t even really trying to spell XD notice the J is capitalized.

    • Michael Hughes

Probably it could look sharper but not run at 60fps. I’m guessing players won’t mind the trade-off.

      • Gameonfool

There is no trade off look at the videos not this pic

      • LukeMM95

Agreed. I’d take smooth gameplay over maxed-out graphics anyday. Also, at least the Wii U is managing to bring out plenty of games that run at 1080p and 60fps, something the Xbox One seems to be struggling with.

        • Nintendo Dragon

It’s because some developers are lazy.

  • Niknique

Doesn’t Rosalina hover off the ground a little though? Maybe she’s actually as tall as peach but looks taller because of the long dress covering her feet.

    • sup3rnoah

Pic of the day. Rosalina’s got height! She is seriously tall! However, she boasts an anti-gravity effect, so she’s very light.

I think she floats a little bit, but overall I think she’s a lot taller.

      • Niknique

Wow your right! She really is tall! Poor Little Mac, he’s got so much competition taller than him :P

        • Arthur Jarret

          He’s used to it :P

  • http://twitter.com/maneauleau maneauleau

Mario’s dungarees texture looks better in the Wii :3 Other than that Wii U is the clear winner (can’t wait!)

    • The_Last_Metroid

Yeah i prefer the wii mario’s overalls as well…

    • Seth S. Scott

Sakurai already talked about making this game focus more on primary colors to make the graphics pop so I assume this falls under those changes. Its a bit more cartoony but overall it looks alot cleaner.

      • http://twitter.com/maneauleau maneauleau

I think he made the right decision, the game will be more fluid and will gain in visibility as well

        • Seth S. Scott

I agree. The game looks phenomenal and still images don’t even do it justice. When the trailers show the game in motion it looks amazing! I thought Brawl looks good but then seeing them in comparison really shows how much effort is put into these games. Cant wait for a release date!

      • Ugslick

Yeah, focusing on the art is better than just chasing resolution, the Wii U game SHOULD be the clear winner though in either case. That said the game looks beautiful already.

  • Gameonfool

This makes the wii u version look worse than it is for some reason

    • Daniel Gonzalez

It’s looks much better when you compare it to:

      • Gameonfool

Well that’s not a compliment lol

  • NextChannelGames

I Thought Little Mac was between the size of Olmar and villager, and not of Luigi and Pit… You got Little Mac’s size wrong

  • Yen

Pretty sure Rosalina has always been pretty tall from what I remember of Galaxy.

  • Andrew Gonzalez

At first I saw no real difference but then looking closely and it’s all in the detail. You can see all the general shapes on the right but everything is much smoother on the left. Shows that they were able to get some pretty decent visuals even for the wii. Looking forward to it this year.

    • AkaLink77

I actually like the textures in Brawl… They were more detailed…like Mario, in Brawl you can actually see his jean overalls but in the new textures, hes wearing plastic… the same with Link.
But i guess we will just have to “HashTag deal with it”
this will need some getting used to.
And other than graphics this game needs to have some superb online capabilities in order to be taken seriously this time.

      • MerryBlind .

Personally, I DIDN’T like the textures in Brawl lol. Same for the lighting. In fact, I thought the whole art direction of Brawl wasn’t appropriate to the game AND the hardware. They tried too hard to make it look ‘realistic’ and ‘super detailed’, which the Wii simply couldn’t handle fully (not saying the game wasn’t running smoothly, I’m just saying that the whole aesthetic wasn’t consistent and ‘homogeneous’ and didn’t fit Smash Bros.)

In comparison I think the art direction of Smash U is SPOT-ON. Really, I think it’s immaculate perfection haha. It looks like Smash 64, and Melee, but insanely better and more polished. It’s sylized, but not cartoony. It’s detailed, but not over-done like in Brawl. Lighting and colours are superb. ETC. Really I LOVE the look of the new game.

        • AkaLink77

All the more reason why to put the brawl textures on WiiU because it can actually handle it and make it look HD.
          C:

    • nigeriangamer

the model detail and light effects are much better.her crown is much detailed not flat like brawl and light bouncing off her is very realistic, her cloth and shoulder pad have sharper textures.this game looks awesome but for what i know about the spec of the wiiu,it can look better and it will be.

      • MerryBlind .

I don’t know… If this game really ends up being 1080p, it would already be quite a feat given how good the visuals look so far.

In fact, I’m still expecting 720p60fps for it, even though it’s been rumoured to be 1080p. I mean, EVERY SINGLE Wii U exclusives are claimed to be 1080p at some point and always end up being 720p UPSCALED to 1080p. The only game that actually did end up really being 1080p is Wind Waker HD, and that was 30fps.

    • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

at the end ssb games doesn’t have as a goal high graphics

      • MerryBlind .

No they don’t. They’re gameplay first and foremost. However, that doesn’t change the fact that they all have excellent visuals for their respective platform.

I think Smash U is one of the most visually impressive Wii U game so far.

    • Kyle

I think the biggest difference is the resolution, which cant be actually seen through a picture.

      • MerryBlind .

Actually, I’m pretty sure the Brawl screenshot is from Dolphin emulator. They’re is not jaggies (aliasing) AT ALL and it looks way too clean, compared to the Wii version. It’s running in HD on the emulator.

So the difference between both versions is much larger than the above comparison.

    • Arthur Jarret

I think waluigi looks a lot better than the waluigi in the previous smash bros.

      • Arthur Jarret

        Compared to:

    • Enumerating Wishes

Honestly Brawl withstood the test of time very well, it can compete in its native resolution and playing it on a emulator with per-pixel lighting on HD it looks gorgeous. Admittedly the Wii U benefits from more polygon details and sharper texture filtering (from what I can see.) So it’d be nice to see what the Wii U can do.

      • MerryBlind .

Well I find most Nintendo exclusives withstand the test of time very well, whether it’s in their native form or if they’re running in HD through Dolphin. Nintendo really know how to use their hardware fully.

Just look at Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, or Smash Melee, they still look very good, particularly on Dolphin obviously. Same for Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, and Smash Brawl. Although Wind Waker and Melee fared better than their sequel because they were more stylized and simple visually.

    • MerryBlind .

Actually, I’m pretty sure the Brawl screenshot is from Dolphin Emulator on PC since it looks HD. I mean, there’s no aliasing at all, and we all know Brawl (like most Wii games) has a tremendous amount of aliasing since it’s only 480p.

So if compared to the REAL Wii version of Brawl, Smash U would look MUCH BETTER.

  • http://nintendopapercraftvideos.wordpress.com/ Sam

Doesn’t look that different. Where’s Captain Falcon?

    • ReggieRegis

It looks plenty different. And I don’t think he has arrived yet. I really hope they announce him soon!

      • http://nintendopapercraftvideos.wordpress.com/ Sam

F-ZERO announcement coincides with his announcement?

    • Daniel Gonzalez

Yeah, it’s just a slight upgrade.

    • jjbredesen

There saving him for when they reveal F-Zero U ;)

      • http://nintendopapercraftvideos.wordpress.com/ Sam

        YES!!!

      • Will (ishigum)

        Lets hope

      • Nintendo Dragon

If that ever happens I will cry so hard from joy.

        • jjbredesen

Yeah, after beting GX, i can’t wait for a new one, F-zero is truly a hardcore racer! One of the hardest games i have ever beat, after Zelda II

          • Nintendo Dragon

I agree. I never got to beat my gx because it broke…

          • jjbredesen

Well, it guess you got saved from months of frustration, my gamecube controller is lucky it survived XD

  • Trirulian

Her eyelashes look so much better now. Idk why I noticed that haah

  • Wildman

Those textures! So crispy on the Wii U.

  • Mario

Seeing this, I can pretty much see that Zelda looks like a living doll in Brawl.

  • Lusunup

The pic does do it justice I mean you can tell the difference between the two! the model of zelda from brawl looks flat. The jewelry and textures and in the wiiu version it looks more vivid and has the 3d pop too it.

  • steve

wow smash u looks way better, way more clean looking.

  • Roman

I guess it looks better… but I’m not too impressed. Wii U games (and especially SSB) aren’t really the got to for amazing graphics.

  • Konnor Cook

Still really upset that Ganondorf and Captain Falcon aren’t in the lineup yet.

    • SP-937-215

I don’t want Ganondorf unless he’s a clone of the Melee version.

    • Coolbro

      Dont worry… they’ll be announced

  • Dark-Link73

    Soooo which one’s which? lol

  • rp17

Here’s some other ones that show more of a difference

  • Logan Wayman

Wow! SSB4 graphics look much better than SSBB graphics!

  • Kinhas

    Reptile For SSB!

  • Superstick98

If you think Brawl looks better, you obviously need to get your eyes checked. No offense. XD

  • kevin nun—-

Clean but clearly not a next gen game. I might not buy this game if the developing team does not improve the graphics. COD looks better, my ghosh this title shows should look stunning. I am not sayng they need to make them look realistic but something like the Zelda demo would have shown off the Wii U better. I am not a grafics whore but if Nintendo doesn’t improve it, then they are saying they dont care about the non-Nintendo fan market. Lets be realistic, todays generation is more into shinier graphics so Nintendo should try to fit in. Smash Bros. 2014 looks horrible to what a next gen game shoukd look like to be honest.

    • C4

Zelda demo visuals wouldn’t work with all these different characters and Nintendo IP environments IMHO. In the SSB4 screenshot neither Zelda nor Mario look out of place. How would Kirby look within the Zelda demo or CoD…? :P

      • Arthur Jarret

Something like a realistic render of this?
(or exactly like Resident Evil revelations pink blobs)

    • Andrew St. Clair

That sums up the problem with gamers of today, and why I think it’s perfectly acceptable, and I would be happy to see, a collapse of the gaming industry.

  • http://www.mpt-online.eu/ Sylux

Might get negative reactions, but honestly I haven’t followed development of smash brothers much, every day a single screeny and that’s it. I’ll wait and see when it’s done but I would say the left is Wii while the right is WiiU, lighting effects are superior on the right, as well as the artstyle on the characters.

Maybe it’s Wii version I don’t know nor care just give the game allready, seriously Development on tripple A titles takes waaaaaay to long, and if it does take so long then don’t tease us with the same games for 1.5 years already if development will take 2-2.5 years, then show uw stuff half a year in advance instead of these teases, I stopped checking smash brothers mii verse community a few months ago, I just want the game already…

    • Virus6

Yeah, you are completely reversed on which one is which.

      • http://www.mpt-online.eu/ Sylux

I see, then that’s a bit dissapointing, the right picture has way better lighting effects, while the left only shoulders on Zelda look better, Mario suit looks better on the right as well… brb.

bk, Took a look from WiiU itself now I see the difference indeed, left is sharper and smoother. But still lighting on right is better, then again I suppose until the game releases it’s hard to get a great perspective on both games, might very well be the angle and position within the arena that makes the difference.

  • LukeMM95

The characters look a lot more alive this time around. The small details like facial expressions and eye movement bring a lot more personality to the fighters. Smash Bros U is shaping up to be a really good looking game.

  • ZeldaFanzzzz

looks cleaner, looks great in HD

  • Sdudyoy

Although I don’t care for graphics, I’m glad to see a huge improvement in graphics!

    • Daniel Gonzalez

Well you need them to see something on the screen. ;P

      • Sdudyoy

Something I apparently found out today while looking through comments: Some people are unable to differentiate between sub HD and HD. Seriously how can you not tell the difference?

    • Decker Shado

It looks like the Brawl screenshot was taken in an emulator, so it’s actually running quite a bit above the 480p the game was on the Wii. So.. not the best example of overall look between the two, but still the textures and model detail are both a lot sharper on the Wii U, quite clearly.

      • oontz

I agree, but some parts seem low res like the hair, almost no difference between the wii hair and the wiiu hair but the amour and head piece look way better .

  • BGhp

    No big difference.

  • asdfg

It looks way better to me, but to be honest I think the new graphics could look much better. Please don’t hate me

    • Daniel Gonzalez

Agreed. No hate here, but you may wanna get on your flame suit for the whackjobs.

    • nigeriangamer

yea,it can be better and it will be.but i’ll take sharper resolution and better frame rate over graphics any day with the way the graphic looks right now

      • oontz

But for sharper resolution wouldn’t you prefer native 1080p?

        • Scoopz

It is native 1080p. That was announced ages ago.

          • oontz

Really…? That’s great! I was expecting 720p since that has been the go to resolution for Nintendo on most of their graphically intense wiiu games.

    • Arthur Jarret

      I hate you!

(sorry, I just had to go there)

      • asdfg

        Oh no :(

    • LukeMM95

I agree, but if the lower resolution means smoother gameplay then I’m not going to complain. They could probably still push the graphics up a bit but I still think the game looks good as it is.

    • MerryBlind .

Keep in mind that the Brawl screenshot in running in HD through Dolphin emulator, so the difference between both game is much larger than the above comparison.

Also, the camera is never that near to characters in Smash; from far away, the textures will look stunning.

  • AkaLink77

I actually like the textures in Brawl… They were more detailed…like Mario, in Brawl you can actually see his jean overalls but in the new textures, hes wearing plastic… the same with Link.
But i guess we will just have to “HashTag deal with it”
this will need some getting used to.

  • nigeriangamer

the differences is clear and the game more beautiful when it moves.i saw gameplay video in 720p 60fps,i was like “O.M.G”

  • MetroidZero

And remember, the lightning and visuals are not final.

  • NowhereStarr14

Now, what I want to see is a gameplay speed comparison between the two. I’m surprised not a single person has done it yet.

    • Christian Schoff

Because no one has played it yet.

      • NowhereStarr14

I get that, but we have seen gameplay of Wii U Smash in action in trailers and that one demo at E3. I would just like to see someone compare Brawl with what they’ve given us so far.

  • Christian Schoff

    I like tall women. ;)

    • Daniel Gonzalez

      If you insist.

  • linkzero65

I wish they don’t replace ganondorf with Girahim or Demise. don’t get me wrong i want those to to be playable too just plz don’t replace him!!

  • linkzero65

i wish they don’t replace ganondorf with Girahim or Demise! don’t get me wrong i still want to see those characters be playable just please dont replace him!!

    • Arthur Jarret

I’d love a Demise skin for Ganondorf.
I wish they had entirely different models instead of just color schemes… so Waluigi could be in the game as a Luigi skin (alas – he’s confirmed to be assist trophy only three hours ago), Demise could be a ganondorf alt., Samurai Goroh a Falcon alt, Starfox’s four skins would be Peppy, Falco and AFD (annoying frog dude, aka Slippy), Links alternate skins would be ‘LoZ1 manual/Between worlds link’, Twilight princess/adult link, Toon link and Painted skyward sword link.

I’m glad the game won’t have as much direct clone characters with minor speed/power rebalancing anymore, though.

    • Kevin James McAllister

If Girahim becomes a character, Demise would probably be the Final Smash.

      • linkzero65

        good idea!

  • andrewjcole

  • InterTreble

These are differences, not the ones presented by Sony between PS3 and PS4, which you must be a fanboy to say there are. It’s evident since Wii was not HD. The only generation change has been performed by Nintendo, it’s a matter of fact.

    • oontz

So what about GameCube to wii then? Was your argument reversed last generation when the jump from ps2 (sd) to ps3 (HD) was big but GameCube to wii was the same. Back then did you say the only generation change had been performed by the ps3, it’s a matter of fact? Or are you just being hypocritical?

      • InterTreble

You pass all your days searching for new comments by me and some other users. Then you stand up and tell your stupidity. I won’t interfere with your hobby, just the time to greet you.

        • Kevin James McAllister

He did actually bring up some good points, though. You can say the differences are bigger now because we came from the low definition Wii, but in the past generation, it was a different story. There was only the slightest graphical improvement from Gamecube to Wii.

          • InterTreble

The difference between you and certain people like oontz, Daniel, etc. is that you talk about games, share different point of you, give your opinion in a civil way, and is a pleasure to speak with you, even and especially if you disagree. It’s always a chance of improving our knowledge. What they do is just to point the finger to the users, use a rude language feeling they are the judges and owner of the truth, even offending for their English, their preferences for Nintendo games, everything. In a word, what they do is just a member-war. This is why I refuse to speak and reply to them, even if they say “the sky is blue”.

          • oontz

See, and again you avoid the tough questions. If you’re willing to make bold statements then be prepared to back them up. On top of that what did I say that was rude? I was just asking if your view was the same last generation or not.

          • InterTreble

I have no time to talk with a fanboy, sorry.

      • Jonathan George Anaya

The Wii bad the SAME inner components as the GCN. Don’t believe me? Read Iwata’s last investors statements…
So, there was no jump between GCN and Wii. And, according to devs, the difference between the Wii and WiiU is minor. One of the Major reasons why they dropped support so fast… Becauze the WiiU can’t handle Next Gen engines. Plus, Nintendo doesn’t make it any better hiding their system specs

        • InterTreble

Agree. But nobody has ever demonstrated that there is even one next gen engine which cannot work on Wii U. Nobody. Somebody in the past laughed saying the UE4 couldn’t run on Wii U. Then even browsers (!) received UE4 support, and so Epic had to admit they didn’t want to deploy it on Wii U, but it wasn’t impossible as some professors (a.k.a. haters) said. It’s quite different. And this is the real problem, because SHs need a larger base installation to develop Wii U games, and Wii U need (also, not only, as somebody say) SHs to enlarge its installation base. But it’s not a tech problem. We are in 2014, not in the 80s, where even the 1% of hardware improvement opened unbelievable possibilities for devs. Now the difference is not comparable, and software has more margins for improvements than the hardware do.

          • oontz

“it’s quite evident putting a Wii U and a PS4 side by side. Without the eyes of a Sony fanboy, the differences are zero. Really, zero.”

Anyone with decent eye sight can see there is a difference between the visual fidelity of the two systems. Killzone SF couldn’t run on wiiu at the same settings.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

At this point, why even bother with fanboys? ;P

          • InterTreble

LOL… what a fanboy you are! Demonstrate Killzone cannot run on Wii U, otherwise you are just admitting you are a fanboy.

          • asdfg

Umm… Clearly the PS4 is a little bit superior to the Wii U in terms of graphics. Not saying the U is bad or it can’t put out beautiful games (look at SM3DW for example). It is also significantly more powerful than PS360. But if you insist on saying that there isn’t any difference at all between the two systems, maybe the fanboy here is you.

          • InterTreble

The difference of graphics is so irrelevant that can be said “zero” if compared to what we called “a difference” in the past. This is what I said, do not extract a phase from its context. Get the concept.

    • MerryBlind .

Except the Brawl pic above isn’t running natively. It’s running off the Dolphin Emulator, and is thus HD. So the comparison isn’t even fair.

  • Captinn2

WALUGI, YOU’RE JUST GOING TO BE ANOTHER ASSIST TROPHY. WALUIGI NUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • Sonic 2099 The Hedgehog

    Amazing

  • brian

Surprising? Did you play Galaxy? Yeah, she’s tall.
