The saga of the Wii U version of Watch Dogs seems to have finally come to a close, though on a bittersweet note. After rumors that the Wii U version was cancelled and the filing of a false USPTO trademark, gamers were unsure if the Wii U version would be seeing release at all. Ubisoft refused to comment on the matter even when asked by Emily Rogers, which further fueled the speculation.
Ubisoft’s Q3 financials are out today and the conference call revealed that Watch Dogs for the Wii U is still coming, it’s just been delayed behind other versions. This was Ubisoft’s statement to VideoGamer:
“We made the difficult decision to further delay the release of Watch Dogs on Wii U to focus the team’s resources where they could have the broadest possible benefit for both our customers and Ubisoft”.
