Several GBA titles and Super Mario Bros. 3 coming to Wii U virtual console

Today Nintendo released a new trailer to showcase all the Gameboy Advance games that will be coming to the Wii U virtual console in April. When the announcement of the GBA virtual console was made, many were afraid Nintendo would continue to trickle in new titles at the rate we’ve been seeing over the last few months. That’s not the case, as April holds several new releases, including Advance Wars that we reported on earlier in the week. Here’s the full release schedule for April:

April 3rd:

  • Advance Wars – $7.99
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga – $7.99
  • Metroid Fusion – $7.99

April 10th:

  • Kirby & the Amazing Mirror – $6.99
  • WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! – $6.99

April 17th:

  • F-Zero: Maximum Velocity – $6.99
  • Golden Sun – $7.99

April 24th:

  • Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3 – $7.99

Nintendo has confirmed that these games will have off-TV play, as well as restore points and save points for gameplay. Miiverse communities will be available for these titles as well. The final surprise comes in confirmation of the most asked for NES title arriving on both the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U virtual console on April 17th. Super Mario Bros. 3 will finally be available for $4.99.

Bring Super Mario All-stars if you aren’t trying to jack your consumers.

    • JB

You know what? I actually agree with that. It’s in my opinion the definitive version of all the NES Super Mario games… Though I feel like Nintendo would price that at 10 smackers!

    • Christian Schoff

Give a foot and someone wants a yard. Nothing is ever good enough for some people.

    • URFTBOUND4LIFE .

Trust me, if they did they’d probably would charge you $20-25 bucks.

  • http://www.gamesobscura.com/ themizarkshow

I will be buying several of these. Worth it just to not need another charging cable hooked into the wall to charge my SP

    • Shota

      it’s coming tomorrow??

      • WiiUisgaming

Yeah its coming tomorrow, I bet this will be an awesome free DLC.

    • Ryan F

      Wow, that’s really something interesting

    • Dark-Link73

I’ve been waiting for this DLC since it was hinted back when the Yoshi level DLC was announced. :-D

      • http://valid.at val berger

No, no, noooo Nintendo… NO NEED to show off something like this in a dedicated Nintendo Direct. Wouldn’t make ANY sense. goddamn

  • greengecko007

I recommend Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. It holds onto old school Kirby mechanics but it ditches the traditional hub worlds with separate levels in favor of an intricate maze-like overworld that has you finding maps, treasure chests, and other collectibles as you try to find your way to the bosses. One of my favorite games in the series.

    • Kirbyomega

While I do love Kirby, I didn’t like amazing mirror that much. It might be because I played it on an emulator, but still I recommend squeak squad as the best. :( not a gameboy game though.

      • That guy who hates Spike

I disliked it too. I would have liked it if the game came with a map, because it’s so easy to get lost, or miss that secret.
Plus the Wii U version doesn’t seem to have co-op, so that’s a bummer.

        • greengecko007

You get maps in the game don’t you?

          • That guy who hates Spike

            Hmm…maybe it does. I’m not sure…

          • greengecko007

Either way, Amazing Mirror was really different. Maybe that’s why some people didn’t like it.

          • That guy who hates Spike

Amazing Mirror was my first Kirby game (other than AirRide and Epic Yarn, but they don’t have much similarities from the adventures to begin with), so that isn’t the problem.

          • SmashFinale

I played Amazing Mirror to my GBA’s death. You get maps but you have to find them within the labyrinths. It’s actually pretty easy.

      • URFTBOUND4LIFE .

Squeak Squad was the weakest Kirby game ever. Most of the music was recycled from NiDL and AM.All of the bosses were nothing to right home about. I had more fun with Dreamland 3 than Squeak Squad. That’s saying something

        • Kirbyomega

          I…. I liked dreamland 3 though <:0

          • URFTBOUND4LIFE .

            Dreamland 2 was better though.

    • Jon

I recommend….. all of them… well, not wario ware, never been a fan of that series though a lot of others like it.

  • Sycamore

I’m buying all of these. Let’s hope they push these out at a constant rate. Zero Mission, Black Hole Rising, Minish Cap, and Fire Emblem for May :D

    • That guy who hates Spike

Does anyone else wonder how other games might fare up to this? After all, Shovel Knight is coming out in April with Ballpoint Universe, Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe and Child of Light.
And then of course, there’s NES Remix 2.

      • Sycamore

It’s gonna be a busy month digitally for April. I think the games you listed have their audiences and will sell over the summer months. Child of Light looks incredible.

      • Jon

I’ll get shovel knight for sure plus these. Not going to get Child of Light probably because I am quite pissed at Ubisoft and refuse to buy any more of their games on any platform which kind of makes me hate myself a bit because I really want that game but…. I don’t want to support a company that isn’t supporting my interests and giving the shaft when they do not need to.

    • GABRIEL GARCIA

      • URFTBOUND4LIFE .

Please,GOD NO!! No more Frozen references!!

  • desgraciado79

I ain’t gonna lie, this made me a little happy. Especially Mario and Luigi.
I feel like I am in a bad relationship with the Wii U and I am about to break it off but then it buys me flowers and chocolates then I am all giddy for a little while. Then, it let’s me down again and I contemplate moving on. A vicious cycle it is.

    • Yen

Is it at least a good relationship in bed? I think that’s what it all comes down to.

      • http://valid.at val berger

at least it’s the first home console I took to bed, had quite some fun, can’t complain.

    • Fred

When she brings you X (Hopefully by Christmas) you’ll quickly forget the first 2 years of bumpy road

      • Arthur Jarret

I forgot it when MH3U came out. Whenever there’s no games coming out, I jump back online with it!

  • David Trail

I don’t have enough money for all this Wii U goodness : (

  • Nintenjoe82

If I didn’t have to buy my Glastonbury ticket next week I would be able to get all of these!

  • Dagehon

I’m the only one who doesn’t like the virtual console?
I don’t have buy one WiiU to play old games!!!
I can play virtual console with my pc…
After MK8 (I can’t wait…) how long will I have to wait for another GAME?

    • Yen

Some people actually like paying for goods and services they received when it’s possible. Also not everyone is computer savvy enough to know how to set it up on pc.

      • Dagehon

Yes I know…. but what about WiiU games??? I mean WiiU exclusive games, I want it now!

        • David Trail

Mario Kart 8 out next month!

          • Dagehon

I do not know, I tried to ask a person who works for nintendo germany, but I don’t think I will respond :(

          • greengecko007

lol nope. May 30th is more than 2 months away.

          • Jon

it’s not april yet… and even then, it is at the end of May it is out.

      • That guy who hates Spike

I found a flash based NES and SNES emulator site. It even has online play for some of them.

        • SmashFinale

Just use Kaillera if you are gonna emulate with netplay.

    • Nintenjoe82

      3 months is my guess!

    • Ultrasyd

I’m not fond of VC neither, because I prefer to get those games used on the real consoles, often cheaper, with a box, a manual… an object that has an history. It’s better when you are a collector. I like flea markets, and the feeling when you find a good game for cheap. And you can also sell it later.
The good thing here on Wii U, is that they add a few features at least : save state, off-TV … people seem to like it.
The great thing would be to have pictures of the original box, little facts about the game and its development, goodies … retro themes for the Wii U desktop, a kind of music player to play the tracks of the VC games you buy. Do you hear me Nintendo ?

And yes, I’d rather get some real Wii U games too. We are at the point where any remake or emulated game is a welcome as a great news because the console lacks titles. But this is better than nothing : )

      • Denvy

Unless the game you buy is utter crap, you won’t be getting used games CIB CHEAPER than the VC. Who are we kidding here? You might on that rare occasion find someone’s mom cleaning out their kids crap at a yard sale. Still, not often. But I do agree, I prefer the original cart.

        • Ultrasyd

Retro gaming is now trendy, but you can, with time and patience, find some jewels. This is how I build my collection, I’ll never throw $$$ and will wait for good occasion. I can’t tell you the number of good stuff I found. Like A Link to the Past boxed for 4€, or a NES with 8 games for less than 10€. eBay is the wrong place to search of course. When you can’t wait, VC is a good option yes.

          • Denvy

Those are still rarities. I’ve been collecting for 30+ years. Unless you’re picking up Gyromite or Urban Champion, you don’t “often” find deals less than VC titles.

          • Ultrasyd

Sure, not everyone has the passion and time to seek for good oldies, but you would not believe me if I tell you the incredible stuff I even got for free.
Anyway, I’ll take Golden Sun for sure :D

    • Zuxs13

Whats wrong with having old school games to play in an easy to access library with restore points and off screen play?

Also Emulation is illegal, unless you have the original copy lying there next to you, in which case why not play the original copy on the original console then and get the real experience.

Plus there are tons of Wii U owners who have never played these games before as many were born after these were first released.

    • Jon

then don’t buy them but other people rather enjoy having the games they played as a kid that are extremely expensive now and very hard to find.

  • Maxime Lemieux

Yoshi’s island, really ? It’s not like the game looks worst, controls worst and sounds worst than the SNES version, but yeah, a port of a port … Why not put some really good Nintendo GBA game, like pokemon, just to name an obvious one.

    • That guy who hates Spike

I haven’t played the SNES version, but I can say the GBA version seems acceptable to me.
After all, it’s the content that counts. And Nintendo doesn’t seem like they can port Yoshi’s Island content. Otherwise, they probably would have done it 5 years ago.

  • Ultrasyd

This is good news, even though I always have mixed feelings when it comes to virtual console. You can get the games on GBA for less bucks, and play it everywhere with the handheld in your pocket. But well, there is the comfort to save the game whenever you want on Wii U. I’ll probably pick Golden Sun and Advance Wars !

  • ChrisCamp

That trailer was super fun, got me excited to download those games! I missed out on a lot of GBA back in the day. Can’t wait for Superstar Saga, Golden Sun and Advanced Wars

  • verymetal

So, maybe 11 years from now, Nintendo’s newest console will not make headlilnes with new games, but advertise that Wii U games are going to be released for it.

See what I mean? Give me new stuff, man. I can’t stand it, anymore.

    • David Trail

Idiot what has ps4 got? Next major game is in September and it is a multiplat.

      • verymetal

Your obviously a fanboy. Nothing wrong with that. I remember you. You changed and edited one of your comments that I replied to, after I called your games as being “Cute.” I believe that I struck a nerve in you that makes you defensive. That my friend is from a famous quote “The truth hurts.”

      • greengecko007

Infamous just came out a few days ago, Final Fantasy 14 in April, Watchdogs in May, Wolfenstein New Order in May, Elder Scrolls Online in June, and those are just the ones I think look interesting. The only console with a game drought is the Wii U.

        Nice try Nintentroll.

        • jrob23

gotta love how every response to what the PS4 is getting seems to mention a bunch of games coming to PS360, Xbone and PC, whereas when Nintendo fans respond with actual exclusives and win the argument you then resort to oh but they are rehash kiddy games.
Let’s be real. There are not any PS4 exclusives coming out this year that will be better than Mario Kart and Smash Brothers. As is always the case with new consoles games get delayed and what happened with Wii U and every other will happen to the PS4. Destiny looks promising, The Order does as well. After the good but not great ISS I have my doubts though. Lots of games coming out that you can play on your PS360 or PC. Very little reason to go out and purchase a PS4 until at least the fall.
Now Kart and Smash are not nearly enough imho but after you factor in DKTF, Bayonetta 2, X, Hyrule Warrios, Yarn Yoshi, and whatever other surprises they have up their sleeve and it’s easy to see why based on exclusives, Nintendo will have bragging rights. Based on total number of games they obviously cannot compete. But if you are arguing with a fanboy you have to anticipate he/she caring more about those exclusives (not to mention the plethora of indies and other 3rd parties…and there are many) than what multiplats are coming to PS4. Because most likely, he/she has a PS360 or PC or Xbone and can play them there.
There is really no arguing this point but I am sure you will try

          • greengecko007

Does it matter that they are multiplatform games? PS4 owners won’t be starved for games, while Wii U owners will have to get their games on other systems. That’s being “real”.

Nintendo fanboys only care about exclusives because that’s all Nintendo consoles offer. I love Nintendo games like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros., but those aren’t enough, as you said.

          • jrob23

see, that’s where you sound like you don’t know what you are talking about. Wii U is getting plenty of 3rd party games. No, they won’t be getting some of the big boys due to lack of sales but they are still getting some great titles. Like I said, not nearly the same amount as the PS4. But again…if you can play most of these games on multiple platforms it hardly sets them apart and forces a purchases. So while some of these aren’t coming to the Wii U, I imagine Wii U owners have one of the other ways of playing them. You HAVE to buy a Wii U if you want to play Nintendo exclusives..period

          • greengecko007

“Wii U is getting plenty of 3rd party games.”

Yeah, that’s why we have an article every week about “….” not coming to the Wii U right? Don’t kid yourself.

I can see you completely missed by point. Yes, I just listed multiplatform games that may or may not be an incentive to purchase a PS4, but that is not the topic at hand. David Trail tries to make it seem like the PS4 isn’t getting any games when that simply isn’t true.

          • jrob23

obviously the PS4 is getting lots of titles. The weekly articles about Wii U being abandoned are just haters and people who care only for AAA games…dudebro shooters. Strip those games away and the Wii U is getting plenty of compelling indies and 3rd party love. Going forward, that looks like it might be diminishing but up till now it’s been pretty good.
To name a few 3rd parties coming:
            Project Cars
            Oddworld
            Shovel Knight
            Teslograd
            Child of Light
            Watchdogs
            Armillo
            Scram Kitty
            Lego Hobbit
            Amazing Spider Man 2
How to Train Your Dragon 2
and many indies on top of that.
That’s just what we know so far. Combine that..with the GBA games and 1st party and if you still don’t have enough to play then you play way too many video games or you probably should buy another console to enjoy their offerings.

          • greengecko007

“obviously the PS4 is getting lots of titles”

            That’s all I’ve been saying. I don’t even know what we’re discussing.

That third party list looks pathetic. But first and foremost, articles about what games aren’t coming to the Wii U aren’t written by “trolls”. It’s relevant information, but obviously you don’t like it. Also, the games that aren’t coming to the Wii U like AC Unity and Arkham Knight are definitely not “dudebro” shooters.

          • jrob23

Arkham Knight is a big loss to me. AC..not so much. Plus if the Wii U install base increased it will get those games and more. That’s the real truth of it. It’s all about cost/benefit analysis for the big boys. The Wii U kinda doesn’t deserve to have games that cost so much made for it because they won’t sell.
I also don’t think only shooters are dudebro. I consider games that entail the least amount of brain cells to play and that attract the least common denominator for gamers as dudebros. And no, neither AC or AK are that.
Those articles are written by haters because the same exact things that happened to the Wii U after launch (sales decline, lack of games, delayed games) are happening to them but there are barely any mentions of this. It’s pretty obvious where these sites get their ad dollars and it isn’t from Nintendo, so in a sense I can’t blame them.
But what we are discussing is your contention that Wii U owners will be ‘starved for games” when its current library to date is much more impressive than either PS4 or Xbone and has plenty of 1st party, indies, and a select few 3rd party games that offer more than enough gaming for 2014.
            Claiming this is asinine.

          • greengecko007

“But what we are discussing is your contention that Wii U owners will be starved for games”.

No, we aren’t, because I never said that.

What my points have been all along, as seen in my previous comments.

            1. The PS4 is getting plenty of games, and PS4 owners won’t be starved for games, contrary to what David Trail said.

            2. The only console with a game drought is the Wii U. If gamers Wii U owners want anything beyond Nintendo exclusives, they will have to get them for another system.

        • Jon

Final Fantasy 14 is a big release? that is an old game that failed and they had to do a relaunch…. and it still is not doing that great….

          • greengecko007

I said it looked interesting, not that it was a big release. I’ve heard good things about it from beta testers now that it is has improved for relaunching.

          • Jon

well, he brought up major releases… to minor releases of a questionable game.

      • That guy who hates Spike

        When’s Nintendo’s next major multiplat?

  • NintendoFan

    Aparrently they’re gonna cost £6.49 in Britain… ($10.75)

  • David Trail

What does ps4 have? Just wondering because I don’t see any thing interesting!

    • Spingebill (Squad 1 Captain)

J-Star Victory Vs. is selling very good………..plus I’m in it………..MUAHAHAHA………

    • Ducked

They have a lot more PS One Classics and PS2 classics then Nintendo has on eShop so far.

      • Spingebill (Squad 1 Captain)

On the Japanese PSN that is……

  • Ducked

Finally some good games released on virtual console! I’ll be interested in Metroid Fusion, F-Zero, Super Star Saga, and Kirby. And we finally are getting Super Mario Bros 3 on Wii U. About time.

    • Spingebill (Squad 1 Captain)

We need this on the WiiU……………

      • Ducked

        Yes, yes we do!

      • RecheDiazrivarola

        yes, yes. we we do

      • Jon

That I would love… I hope the survey I filled out for Square helps bring at least this game. FFXV would be nice too but…. If they gave the choice of one, I’d take this :D

  • Spingebill (Squad 1 Captain)

    ………

    • Ducked

You knew I was going to reply to this. I think a Wii U banner would nicely replace the green banner on the top.

      • Jon

That I can agree on…. heck, I’d even be happy if they just made a new one with the Wii U banner on it.

  • steveb944

Gorgeous button mapping. I’ll be keeping an eye on this as our old system doesn’t work that well so maybe I can finally get rid of physical copies (looking at you Mario Kart).

  • Spingebill (Squad 1 Captain)

    hmmm….

    • Jon

man, it took me only 2… lol

    • Shane Michaels

      Xbox Stupidity!

  • palomino blue

    Advance Wars is a must.

    • Fred

      you know it brotha

  • Lil J Moore

Finally some good news. Small but still good news now I can do something with this $79.97 credit I’ve been saving up

  • That guy who hates Spike

I can’t wait to get my hands on Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. I got Dream Team the other week and I love it, and I need more.

  • larz_1234

It will be tough to not buy all these great games. Some like metroid fusion i already have but to play them on the big screen will be awesome!

  • JeanPaul

The WiiU’s Virtual console library is so bad it sad. I do not understand why their library is so limited. When many games are already out on the Wii’s virtual console. Like serisously!? N64! Where are they!? I don’t see an excuse for this… Do they not want my money?

    • Daniel Carvalho

Same opinion as mine. It’s not that hard to translate 8/16/64-bits games onto a HD system when PC emulators can do the same without any problem!

      • lonewolf

I think that the gamepad is the problem.

        • Daniel Carvalho

          How so?

          • lonewolf

Well they need to add off-tv features and other stuff related to the gamepad or the software for example mii-werse so i think thats giving them some problems. I dont know i am not a programmer its just my point of view.

          • Daniel Carvalho

I also thought about those problems, but after giving it a deep thought, I realized most of those shouldn’t be delaying the VC title launches this much. I mean, the Gamepad is only streaming image, it is the same as connecting the video game to a TV (in theory, at least); as for the Miiverse, all they have to do is create a community for the game. As much as those things add up to delay the launches, I don’t believe it’s something so big they couldn’t have launched all the Wii VC library onto the Wii U on the course of an entire year!

I believe Nintendo either believes they’re still in 2006, where the VC was a surprise and everyone would happily wait for titles to be launched one b one, once per week, or they’ve made a serious screw up when developing a hardware so hard to port VC titles to. The first one seems more like Nintendo nowadays.

It’s also past time they launched extra controllers in the shape of N64 and GC controllers, like they did with the Wii Classic Controller. That way we could play N64 games as if it were an actual N64, and we would have no problem with the GC titles.

          • Fred

N64 controllers would be really cool, but would enough people buy them to justify the cost?

          • Daniel Carvalho

With the right pricing and advertising more the Wii U (and correctly) instead of believing people already know the difference between Wii and Wii U, it would. I believe they would get a large profit from it for two reasons:

            1) It utilizes the same selling point the Wii had: the nostalgic felling it had with Virtual Console, but takes it even further away with the correct Controllers for each console;

            2) The Wii U is the only console in this generation with retrocompatibility. Buying a Wii U (if what I said about VC titles and controllers come out to be true) would mean buying a Wii U, a Wii, a GC, a N64, a SNES, a NES and a GBA by the price of a single console! Tell me who wouldn’t buy it – if advertised correctly?

          • Fred

            don’t forget a DS too!

    • Andrew W Garttmeyer

It is so so disheartening. They even spoke 4-5 months ago that they KNOW they were not using the VC to its full extent, and did nothing apparently. Why couldn’t they give us a release schedule for the rest of the year? A bunch of titles they are working on even? They STILL haven’t even told me if I can expect Sega games on here or not? What gives? Shining Force???

  • Daniel Carvalho

Nice! Now, bring N64 and GC games to Wii U! And please, make the Data Transfer features on games like Firem Emblem and Tales of Symphonia work too!

  • Miles “Tails” Prower

I hope they add Sonic battle.

    • Sdudyoy

Yeah, I really want the Sonic advance games also, I actually really enjoyed those games.

      • Shane Michaels

YES. More Sonic Advance. And plenty of Sonic Rush whenever they get the DS games out. As a matter of fact, more Sonic! Always More Sonic!

        • URFTBOUND4LIFE .

The first Sonic Advance was the only good one IMO

          • Shane Michaels

You’d be right. Advance 2 was hold right to win garbage. Advance 3 was kinda gimmicky. Dimps has only gone down from there.

  • Blue Hernandez

Damn thats a little pricey for 10 year old games.

    • Mitch Hall

The cartridges are more expensive than this.

      • Sdudyoy

True, but I would rather pay 5$, but I can’t complain because I buy very few VC video games.

        • Jon

of course you’d rather pay $5, who wouldn’t? I am pretty sure anyone would want to pay less for something.

          • Sdudyoy

Sorry, I didn’t write it out very well, but my intention was to say that I think it should be 5$ as in my opinion that’s what they’re worth, I don’t mind paying 8$ but I still feel as 5$ is a more accurate price for GBA games.

          • Blue Hernandez

I agree, $5 would’ve been the sweet spot and I would definitely buy wayy more of these digital games.

    • Jon

if you find them cheaper that is legal, let me know, I’d love to buy them.

    • Denvy

Really depends on the game, imo.

    • URFTBOUND4LIFE .

$7 is too pricey? You could try hunting some of these down and pay double or triple these prices.I never understood why people think that it’s ok to shell out $60+ for a new game but think paying as little as $10 for and older game is way too much.

  • ActivesiN

awesome!, lots of games to tide us over until mario kart 8

  • Nintendofreak

    april 3rd is my bday

    • Blue Hernandez

      Happy Birthday, now go home.

      • Nintendofreak

        im already home

        • Blue Hernandez

Well the joke’s on me then. :P

  • Blue Hernandez

If they would do Gamecube, I could get Sonic Adventure 2. I still have my Dreamcast but it would be nice to get it digital.

    • Sdudyoy

Well, I don’t know if you play PC games, but It’s on Steam.

  • Zuxs13

Already have Metroid Fusion on my 3DS awesome games (too bad i can’t play it on both systems for one price…) But since i have saved up a ton of Deluxe Promotion Points ill buy Golden sun and F-Zero i think,

    • Jon

um… it is one price for you, you got one for free and the other you’ll pay $7.99

      • Zuxs13

If you have the ambassador program and that is only for GBA games and a handful of others. But not for all the VC games that are available on both systems, or all the VC games i bought on the Wii

    • Sdudyoy

Quick question, as I didn’t get a 3DS early enough for the ambassadors program, I’ve heard that GBA games run poorly on the 3DS, is that true?

      • Zuxs13

I never had an issue with any GBA game on my 3DS

  • Fred

If enough of us buy VC games this month while there’s an actual new selection, maybe it’ll convince Nintendo to keep releasing more VC games at a faster clip instead of 2-3 per month.

  • http://Johnaguilera.prosite.com/ John Aguilera

I don’t want. I NEED all of these!

  • MerryBlind .

That’s actually very good! I assume there will be other games other than those GBA games released every week along them. If so, Nintendo might just be making some progress with their Virtual Console releases… at last!

Bring on Zelda Minish Cap and Pokemon FireRed! (and GameBoy Color games too!)

  • StigtriX

Who in their right minds would want the GBA versions of Mario games? The SNES versions are superior in every if one excludes the meaningless extra content. I’d rather have better graphics and sound.

  • smaddy123

I am disgusted that Nintendo overprices their VC so much. They wonder why the console is failing? I wish they would pull their heads out their ass long enough to see how easy it would be to drum up more interest if they would stop acting like Nintendo all the time.

  • Moreck

*Yaaaaaaaawn* Hey Nintendo, let us know when you bring N64 or GameCube support to VC. You know, the games your fans actually WANT to play on WiiU.

    • Jon

you don’t want to play Metroid Fusion or Golden Sun? Plus there are more great games in that list… I’d much rather them bring a new platform to the VC than a recycled one from the Wii. So really, the gamecube games would be the only interest.

  • chichibekbros

Does anyone knows if is there any official information about if gba games will use tv full screen?

  • Greg Lanciotti

This is pathetic. Come on Nintendo!. Nintendo is failing pretty hard. Not a troll, just a jaded fan. And they better get working on their Virtual Reality technology or they will flippity-flop… You heard it here first folks

    • 00EpicGamer00

Lol, it’ll be called Nintend-O-Rift. The first game they’ll release for it will be “Zelda: Ocarina of Time Virtual Reality Edition.” It will come bundled with the console, and it’ll come with a Master Sword peripheral. So that you REALLY fell like you’re doing something! It’ll be just like wii motion plus where it”ll be completely one-to-one. Oh, but wait! If you pre order, they’ll include the limited edition, Hylian Shield peripheral!

  • Mario

    Instant classics!

  • Jonathan Dogey

I had a horrible feeling about the price….then I saw I guessed right. Ripoff!! I had hoped they’d see reason and make these $3.99 or less. Guess not. I’ll wait for a sale I guess (if that ever happens).

    • Jon

ok, go have fun spending $40-$50 (maybe $30 if you get lucky) for these from the internet and other stores. Or you can just illegally pirate them and then you are worthless sh*t.

      • Vriska Serket

Is it fun over in your 8u88le of self righteousness. At least in there you can have your own opinions and discredit others.

  • Jonathan Dogey

Totalling over $60 for a tiny handful of moldy old games. >:[

  • Mitch Hall

Holy crap, that’s a LOT of good games for one month. The only “meh” one is Yoshi’s Island, and that’s only because the SNES version would’ve been better.

    • Jon

I’d take yoshi’s island over wario ware personally…. but we all like different things :D I am just excited for a lot of these, mostly Metroid Fusion and Golden Sun :D

  • Logan Wayman

And they’re going to add Nintendo DS games to Virtual Console next. (Hopefully.)

  • SP-937-215

These should all have been available in the 2012 launch window.

    • Jon

oh look, another one of these people. You will probably say this for every release. heck, to you, they should have made every single game for the system that will ever be created and then release them all at launch…. is that right?

      • SP-937-215

Well, no. But I think a small “blast from the past” selection like this would have done a lot to help the Wii U in its launch phase. Nintendo’s first party legacy is a system seller in itself, if only they would make it available to gamers.

  • leo

    good move nintendo

  • Sdudyoy

Wait? Kirby and the amazing mirror was a multiplayer game, how are you going to play multiplayer on this version? I understand that you could play single player but does that mean that there is just going to be a option you can’t use? or is it going to be modified so that you can play multiplayer? I would love the second option.

  • LukeMM95

It’s great that we’re getting GBA games but still where are the N64 and Gamecube games. Are they really that hard to bring over to Wii U? Fingers crossed Nintendo surprises us at E3 with some noticeably improvements to the Eshop. I want at least one N64 game before the end of the year.

And theses are pretty pricey for GBA games.

  • Vriska Serket

    COME ON POKEMON

  • 00EpicGamer00

Really Nintendo? $7-$8 for a GBA game? If I were Nintendo , I’d price them from $3-$4.

  • Dan

That trailer was awesome! I can’t wait to play Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga on my Wii U!

  • Daniel

Add online functionality and then we can talk.

Still waiting on N64 titles & gamecube games too. Quit dicking around Nintendo.

  • pklucas1

I am curious, do the Gameboy Advance games come with the multiplayer option? I know that with the game link cables its offered with the original Game Boy Advance.

  • pklucas1

My question is if these games will support multiplayer like they did back in 2003. Playing Kirby’s Amazing Mirror 4 player was great and WarioWare would be interesting to say the least.

  • pklucas1

Would this mean that there might be a chance of a Mother 3 release? (I’m hopeful).

Sycamore I agree though, we should get Minish Cap, but also Mario Party Advance, Sonic Battle and maybe even the Legend of Stafy series!

  • Nintendo Dragon

    Isaac confirmed?

  • Nintendo Dragon

All they need to do now is put Pokemon Emerald, sapphire and ruby and stuff like that on the virtual console and I will buy them all!

  • Elitepwnsface

Why is the flying (Insert derogatory word here) is this not on the 3ds. Yes i am an ambassador of the 3ds but still. There are some games not in my collection and it makes me soooo mad…. lol

  • GABRIEL GARCIA

    CHECK THIS OUT !!!

  • A SNES Day Off

If they release any of the Pokémon GBA titles, then I believe Miiverse could just implode.

  • Viktor Araujo

Buying Golden Sun and praying this helps a 3DS GS to happen

  • anthony optimo

That’s nice to hear, now if I could only get Phantasy Star Online for Wii U Virtual Console. Yeah, that would be great, thanks.

  • Steve

    Still waiting for Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen/Saphire/Ruby/Emerald.

I might get Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga though.

  • Con

I just want GameCube on the VC so I can play the third-party games.

  • Drithe

8 bucks is way too much for these games.
