Buy.com selling 32GB Mario & Luigi Wii U bundle for $250

wii-u-mario-bundle

There have been several deals on the Wii U as of late, but if you’re still one of the few who hasn’t jumped on that wagon, Buy.com is resurrecting their popular deal. They’re offering the Mario & Luigi Wii U bundle, which includes the 32GB black Wii U, as well as a copy of New Super Mario Bros. U and its stand alone DLC, New Super Luigi U. This is the default bundle in the United States now and it retails for $300, so knocking $50 off the price is about as good as it gets in terms of getting a new console.

With Mario Kart 8 coming out next month and Super Smash Bros. releasing later in the year, if you’re wanting to adopt a Wii U for those titles now is the perfect time to do so. While the deal is offered by Buy.com, they’re offering it through eBay so you can use PayPal to pay.

*Kicks self endlessly for buying White Wii U on launch*

    • jjbredesen
      • MerryBlind .

Indeed. Always wait at least one year.

      • Commander Raichu

gamecube was worth it because of melee :D

        • jjbredesen

Yeah, but that was Melee :P

          • Commander Raichu

            still :P

    • Sdudyoy

I’m glad I got a Wii U early, even if I payed more, I’ve been able to play good games longer than people who are still waiting.

      • MetroidZero

True. I won’t be one of those waiting around for a Wii U once MK8 is launched. But wow, I could’ve bought some games with that little extra money or something!

      • zajac1661

Well. I am actually dissapointed, considdering i preordered. I wish i had waited. I have + 20 titles, but my Wii literally runs netflix as a Main Thing. Mk8.. looking forward to it. Watch dogs as well. Ac4 is a must as well. But what is There to do after? wait for bayonetta and smash Bros? Having the Wii collecting dust meanwhile again? As a consumer and supporting Nintendo gamer for over 20 years, I feel utterly dissapointed.. the lack of online multiplayer is the worst thing if you ask me. I feel like Nintendo just totally lost the grip of their way to run as a unique developer. I could as well just sit here and yell “the Wii u rules” and “the Wii u is awesome” or as people said a year ago “just wait till Mario hits the market” just wait till the remake off wind waker comes! I spoke with a friend after completing Mario 3d world, about his thoughts. And he was dissapointed. Compared to how breathtakingly good galaxy 1 & 2 was, he really felt this was a let down, and further development of the 3ds version. Not a bad game, but certainly not the big aa title the hype made it to be.. and I agreed. Wind wakes.. awesome remake. But also a remake, branded as a big carrying title saving The Wii u . A game most Nintendo gamers already went trough. I might Get a downvote or two for this, because o f a majority of people acting totally blind to this. I really can’t believe that solid Nintendo fans can sit and yell about how awesome this is. I seriously hope they reclaim what they have dominated for soo long. But I almost sit at a doubt. Just my dime..

        • jrob23

well, Kart should give you many hours of enjoyment. AC 4 and Watch Dogs as well. Nobody hailed 3DWorld as some savior. In fact, most of us were pretty upset about it despite it being a solid game and pretty as well. Wind Waker was never supposed to a carrying title as you claim either. Sounds like Nintendo has forced you to get a second console. I think you like me, thought the Wii U could be that one console you’d need but it simply isn’t. If you can accept that and enjoy it for what it is you’ll be fine. You can’t get all the great 1st party titles that are coming on other consoles so you have to take the good with the bad..or not..your decision

          • zajac1661

I don’t think you understand my point. I need to accept it. I Don’t have a choice. You Said nobody hailed it? The majority of the community did, and especially this site. I know because I’m reading this site(since day 1) amongst others on a daily basis. The Wii u was bleeding. It was the aa title thrown on the table as the only one at that point. Just as pikmin before that. Trust me. Why would I ever grab that out of thin air. Wind waker was even being heavily bundled out as the carrying title on that behalf, because it was the main sell point and main marketing factor.. and the only supposed big title at the moment. I am not about this because of other big cross platform titles leaving the Wii u . I am on this because I think they totally lost the diversity of being able to make their own platform work. like they always have. I owned the nes.. the snes.. I gamed my teenage years with joy on a n64. Bought a GameCube and the first Wii as well. And I seriously think that the Wii u is a weak link here. I am throwing critique because I certainly! don’t want to take it for what it is. I have to take it for what it is, even though I know what Nintendo always was capeable of! I am doing it because I am dissapointed. Not as a player of another console. But as a brand supporter since the first super Mario game launched. You can accept it for what it is. But can you accept that Nintendo dissapoints on the behalf of being able to give it’ s fans what it always has. Unless you think waiting years and years saves the future of being a strong developer on a Fed consumer market.

        • Rinslowe

I can understand if someone was to say they would have preferred a more Galaxy centric Mario adventure instead of 3DW. But to have played it and to then say – it’s a disappointment? Riiight….

It was pure genius. WWHD was and still is genius, it’s more than just a vanilla remake. But unless you play it, how to really communicate that truth.
While it’s certainly true, Nintendo has had to rely on their first party titles more than any other platform manufacturer due to waning support from third parties, it is also true that they have been lacking in consistent releases due to shortages in manpower/ studios etc..

I don’t think anyone honestly believed WWHD was going to be a system saviour, but although none of the titles shipped millions of console units. Surely any objective analysis has to be made according to the situation. And not by comparison to other platforms.
Where each first party title has indeed created sales relative to the situation (the situation being dire for most of 2013), since Pikmin 3.

Nintendo’s main issues are in their strategies in marketing to the consumer and being open about their titles in development. Both area’s are being operated poorly at this point in time…
And until they fix these two main issues. The majority of consumers are going to go where the message is better communicated.

Sony is brilliant at marketing and that is the sole reason PS4 has sold so well. They built hype, then got competitive, they spent money to advertise the system, they communicated the games in development in a general sense and they brought the value to relative levels (even despite it being a gamble, the consumer is not complaining).

          • zajac1661

Wind Waker is a remake. Nothing more. A remake with fewer shards to collect and hd graphics. If they implemented the 2 dungeons left out from the original as a example i would agree with you. But it is not a original concept.

You might not have been believing WWHD was going to be a system saviour. But it had to take that role, because the WiiU was forced into that situation.

The heavy game delays + the release windows not being present. The community was flooded with optimistic supporters. Everyone might not have believed it, but many people did. You should be able to remember, if you as a example was a guest on this site back then.

Mario3d world was a good game. Very similar to the earlier 3ds version. You could actually see a similar game engine and a more liniear approach to the gameplay than galaxy was as a example. It did dissapoint me a bit. Perhaps because i expected more of it.

Nintendo and their communication strategy as you point out is a failure obiously. It has been obious from day one. Even with a year head start, they went totally passive on the competition to come from Sony and Xbox. They had a absolutely huge chance to implement their system hugely in the consumer market.

But no advertising made the casual consumer/gamer totally unaware of a new system being released.

The last thing (if you ask me) being able to save the rest of the WiiU and it’s lifespan, would be to use the heavy IP’s they have. And i think they should have gone stronger with that. Get some game studios involved. As we have seen on every other Nintendo console to this day!

Every console nintendo put out, had remakes of etablished ip’s. Snes continiuing mario/metroid series.
            N64 with mario/zelda
Gc, Metroid/sunshine/ww and forth.. wii with galaxy/twilight
3ds even had the etablished engine for WiiU mario 3dworld.

WW remake. Donkey Kong tropical with a similar modded engine from the wiiU version. And mario3dworld with the same liniarity and build as the 3ds version.

I think they have failed on making a original output on top of their established ip’s on the wiiU, as they always have been able to do.

    • Donaald

Yeah man, I also regretted it after they dropped the price and made the Mario and Luigi bundle.

    • Commander Raichu

i got my money to buy one now
Mario Kart 8 bundle please be true im coming for you!

    • Noah

I think this sums it up.

    • Yousif Alromaithi

Your lucky. I would love to have a White one but the problem was the Black offered more if both offered the same I would buy the White.

    • Rinslowe

I bought a white one recently in HK. White does it for me more so the the deluxe version I’ve had since launch….

  • TJay Fitch

I bought the Zelda Wind Waker Wii U Limited Edition but man is this a deal!

  • Ducked

I think Wii U sales will finally jump if Mario Kart 8 Bundle comes to North America for $299.99 next month.

    • Daniel Gonzalez

For about a month I would say. Then dip back down like every other Wii U game. I could be wrong, but so far, there hasn’t been any game that proved otherwise.

      • jrob23

negative nancy the troll strikes again!!

        • Denvy

          Can’t prove him wrong though

          • jrob23

didn’t realize I had to prove trolls wrong about them being negative. all I was pointing out was that he responded negatively like he does 100% of the time when someone is trying to be positive. And he can’t be proven right until Kart has been out for months either….so what exactly is the point of your post again?

          • Ducked

Honesty should be separated from trolling. I prefer trolls anyway over fanboys.

          • Commander Raichu

im going to make this place like miiverse and ban you all for negative actions and saying “silly”

          • Ducked

            Good one

          • jrob23

like a circle jerk over here with you three…wow…unless you are just one person with three separate accounts…more likely

          • Commander Raichu

            we like nintendo there just acting stupid which makes us cry D;

          • Commander Raichu
          • Daniel Gonzalez

Haha. Right now, that may not be a bad idea.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You would think so. I do agree though. While I’m not a fan of either type, trolls do tend to be more truthful than fanboys. Even if their methods aren’t always the best.

          • Ducked

Thing about trolls is most of the time they do it to tick people off. Fanboys are serious, and are to stubborn to face reality.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

True. Though, people do tend to use the troll label too often when they don’t agree with a poster’s comment. Can happen too with fanboys, but it’s apparent on who is who of course on this site.

          • Ducked

            Agreed

          • Commander Raichu

            banned for hating trolls :P

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You’re fall of laughs fella. It was basically a neutral post and I’m also going by the pattern of Wii U releases over the months. How many games have pushed the Wii U hardware by the millions? None, right? Which is why I said Mario Kart will probably push out a good amount of hardware, but will dip down like the rest of them. I also pointed out that I could be wrong, cause the future isn’t written yet, correct? It’s called an observation. If you think that is trolling, then you have some type of aggression disorder. All you’re proving, is that you can’t handle a simple post. Lol.

            Take a Xanax and relax.

          • jrob23

always a negative observation though right troll? you have a couple of these people fooled who see your seemingly innocent comment if viewed in a vacuum and think nothing of it but you and I both know you have been trolling these boards for over a year with nothing but negative after negative comments from day one. So spare me

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I don’t see how a neutral observation is a negative one, but I guess in your mind, it must be so. I don’t have to fool anyone. They can decide can think and speak for themselves just fine. Though you seem to feel that you speak for everyone. Again, spare yourself by not paying attention to people you don’t like. Your negative opinion is noted. I do love when a troll calls another a troll. Thanks for a small chuckle there. In all seriousness though, grow a sense of humor. ;P

          • Commander Raichu

hey at least we both know it will do a little something remember
            baby steps

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I have no doubts about that. My point is, it won’t sell like the Wii version. Which isn’t bad at all. Whether Wii U ends up like the Gamecube or not, It’ll eventually have a place in my living room.

          • Commander Raichu

            maybe 5 million :D

          • jackie

Daniel is right no games have proven a true success on wii u. No console sellers really. Not to sound like a troll but when infamous released ps4 sales jumped over a 100 percent. When titanfall released xbox 1 sales jumped over a 100 percent. Those games moved consoles. Wii u needs the same. Mario kart should help but I think it will be very little.

          • jrob23

they haven’t even come out with a Zelda, 3d Mario, Metroid, Smash, or Kart yet…I mean wtf? All they have come out with is a Donkey Kong nobody asked for (not that it isn’t quality), and redone Zelda game (Wind Waker HD) a 2.5D Mario (not exactly Galaxy or what people wanted) and a 2d Mario that was very similar to the 2d Mario of the Wii. If Kart doesn’t move units the Wii U is done, I agree. But you can’t equate 1 of only a few system sellers that Sony has against some throw ins from Nintendo. It should be Zelda versus Uncharted, Kart versus GT, Mario Galaxy versus Unfamous. Those make sense. Let’s see how true 1st party system sellers do. Infamous did okay. Of course it moved units it’s a new console.

          • jackie

So your telling me its gonna take almost 2 years for wii u to have a 1st true system seller and it took the other consoles 4 months. How sad

          • jrob23

and not for nothing but Mario 3d World has sold close to 2 million copies and Infamous 1 million. Mario will continue to sell well for years, Infamous not so much. But…you know….facts and all

          • jrob23

what? not trolling attempts? facts get in the way? weak ass bitches

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You’re not a troll if you’re honestly speaking your mind. Troll labels are inevitable. I do believe that Mario Kart 8 will sell consoles, but people should set themselves up for disappointment if it doesn’t sell like 5-10 million Wii U’s. With how poor other games have sold so far, I feel it’s unlikely to reach that number.

          • Commander Raichu

3 million units of mario kart 8 will be sold this year since you know the families

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Within a year, that’s certainly likely. Probably more if they do some type of bundle in major regions. We’ll see if they even mention a bundle before release.

          • Commander Raichu

i mean 1 million sold artound launch time(june july august)
then the rest sold at christmas

          • Denvy

I’ve a strong feeling the Wii U will never even reach the GameCube mark unfortunately. Still don’t have regrets picking it up though. I’m having a good time with it.

          • Commander Raichu

            97% but still close enough

          • Commander Jim

That’s right. If M3DW did nothing, and before Christmas, Mario Kart. I also think people are VASTLY over-estimating how much people still care about Mario Kart.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Especially over an opinion.Besides, I did give it the benefit of the doubt several articles ago. Hence I could be wrong. Lol.

        • Daniel Gonzalez

Angry jrob23 rages again. Poor guy.

      • Ducked

Wii U sales should be nice in June. It will be hard for Mario Kart 8 to carry it all the way until Smash releases in Winter. July and August will probably dip down some. If Nintendo releases some games September through November, or until Smash comes, than Wii U should do decent.

        • Yousif Alromaithi

I honestly see Bayonetta 2 coming in summer no reason for it to be delayed unless they did i will sure be pissdd off at Nintendo. I expect a Zelda, Yarn Yoshi, a remake game, Smash, MK8, possible an old IP gane to come out this year.

          • Ducked

Hyrule Warriors will probably come out in the fall. Yarn Yoshi which I hope Nintendo is still making, will probably be out between September-October. Bayonetta 2 I’ve been thinking would be a Summer title, but Platinum Games said it will be release in Japan in the Summer, so I’m guessing that will push the US and European version to the fall, or late Summer.

Also any unannounced IP’s will probably join the mix too. I’d say the next Zelda will be released in 2015, and possibly we will get a Metroid E3 trailer announcement.

          • Yousif Alromaithi

Metriod trailer seems likely or Retro new IP but I certainly believe Zelda is coming this year and Hyrule Warriors could come next year. I mean I could be wrong. As far as I can say Anouma addimted that they wanted to announce it last year because they had something to show. I am positive that in E3 they will show gameplay and a trailer.

          • Rinslowe

I don’t see Zelda getting a release this year with more footage from X being shown so far to date. And nothing revealed for Zelda at all. E3 if typical Ninty practices are to go well, typically, will likely have Zelda releasing sometime in Q3 2015.
But if it comes earlier I wouldn’t be complaining at all. I would like to get some decent hours into X first though so hopefully E3 gives us a 2014 release date.
If both X and Zelda release in the same year then my talented time management skills will be put to the test…

          • Yousif Alromaithi

X will be released next year unless off course they decided to release it this year and Zelda to be next year. Will kind a tough who knows in E3 we are about to find out.

          • Rinslowe

            True
