wii-fit-u-5

If you haven’t jumped on the Wii Fit U bandwagon yet, Newegg has you covered. You can pick up a Wii Fit Meter for $9.99 today. Of course shipping is extra, but this still puts the price well below the actual retail price. If you already have a Wii Balance Board, all you need to do is download Wii Fit U from the Wii U eShop and link up the Wii Fit meter with it. If you don’t have a balance board, several retailers are currently selling Wii Fit U well below the suggested retail price of $99.

The new activities in Wii Fit U are well worth the upgrade if you enjoyed Wii Fit and the calorie counter and altimeter in the Fit Meter makes it fun to see how much your daily activities are impacting your actual exercise routines.

I wish they had the other colors. I already have a black one and wanted to get a different color one for my wife.

I hear ya. I already have the black one for me and wanted to but the white one for my wife but it only comes in the bundle. Fortunately she likes the black one better anyway, he he. :-)

Honestly, I was disappointed by the meter itself. I love the integration and games they have for it… “Climbing Everest,” etc., but my meter ran out of batteries after 2 months. I’m barely organized enough to keep enough food in my house so I don’t starve or eat take out every night, so buying and replacing batteries every two months is a bit out of the question :) .

Really? My meter’s still going strong. Damn crazy battery in this one…

    • Vegeta937

Pffft! Good thing you never owned a GameGear. 6 AA batteries every 2 hours. Yeah…good times =P

      • Carlos Webster

Yeah, I heard the Gamegear battery horror stories. (Just kidding, but I’ve heard, in other ways, how bad it is).

      • Razo_E

Amateur. I had a Sega Nomad. The batteries only lasted half an hour.

        • Vegeta937

          Lol.

Haha thing is I did have a GameGear! Except back then, I was young enough that my mom’s purse almost always had a spare set. I was a lucky kid!

Just bought it with the free 7-day shipping.

Oh, fantastic! I just sent mine through the washing machine and screwed it up royally.

  • Kenshin0011

The meter shouldn’t be more than $9.99 anyway

Has anyone actually gotten in shape using the Wii Fit? (serious question)

    • palomino blue

A lot of the strength training exercises (plank, pushups, lunges) are good if you are really out of shape or don’t know how to balance your body well or focus muscle groups. I enjoy the yoga portion actually. I mainly use it as a way to sync my meter from real exercise and track my progress. I don’t think the game itself will get you in shape if you are fairly active. But any time spent moving around for otherwise sedentary people is helpful.

      • Blue Hernandez

Thanks for getting back to me.

    • MrTravan

Yes. I actually lost about 50 lb a couple years back doing the wii fit, over a period of about 3 months.

      • Blue Hernandez

No way! That’s awesome dude! Ok well I might have to give this a shot then.

  • Erik Mozolik

Aaaaaaaaand sold out. Damn, woulda bought one
