Today is the last day of Club Nintendo 2014 rewards

ClubNintendoLogo-600x6002

Just a quick heads up for anyone who enjoys getting the Gold and Platinum Club Nintendo rewards that will be on offer later this year. June 30 is the cut-off date for entering any coins you’ve been saving. If you’ve already achieved Platinum status this year, then hold any surveys that aren’t expiring today until tomorrow, when the date rolls over and they’ll count toward your 2015 Platinum status.

If you’re unfamiliar with Club Nintendo, every year from July 1st to June 30th of the next year, Nintendo offers coins on 1st party title purchases/downloads, as well as registering any new systems you may have purchased. Each retail purchase has a Club Nintendo insert, while those who download their games must link their Nintendo Network ID to their Club Nintendo account in order to receive coins.

Those who purchase enough games to receive 300 coins in a single time period are awarded Gold Status, while those who achieve 600 coins in the same time period receive Platinum Status. Usually in the fall Nintendo will announce the awards for those who achieved these status’ and you can pick a prize. Previous prizes have been anything from statues to posters, at Nintendo’s discretion.

is this available in european club nintendo? anybody know, cause this would be awesome

    • Petri

No, European club Nintendo has some kind of stars catalog, that has no digital rewards, and does not work in every country.
There is Wii points though, but to get those, you need a Wii console, Wii U wont cut it.

      • YogiGRB

thx for the info, to bad though

  • nintendope

I may have gained enough coins to achieve platinum status twice.

    • Crocket

I’m sitting on like 8 codes right now since I already hit Platinum status.

      • http://youtube.com/TheHopper2004 Hopper200456

  • Little Seal

WOW let’s wait for Bonsai Barber as reward! Or Kirby’s for 3DS
    So excited! (Ironic mode: ON)

  • palomino blue

So if I’m over 600 I should wait to register any more games right? If I haven’t spent the points will I lose them? If I do spend them, do I still get the prize later this year?

    • Jon

yes, if you have platinum already, wait

    • Marioman21

No points only expire every 2 years.

  • Jon

I was platinum status 2 hours after the reset and I’ll hit it again come fall :D

  • slush_puppie

thanks for the reminder! i was only 40 points away, and had 130 points worth of pending surveys and registrations. would’ve felt like a bonehead for forgetting them.

  • Alex

too bad i have the platinum nintendo club reward, currently live in south america and hold a canadian eshop account. i can’t ship my gifts to other countries abroad :(

    • steveb944

Hope for a digital reward this time around.

      • Alex

in this case i can download it without any problem :)

    • Fred

The last 2 years I downloaded a free game for my reward

    • Dominicruz

remember we are living in a digital era mi Amigo Nintendo always offer digital games

    • Damon Munday

I’m canadian! If it’s something you can’t use I’d love to have something cool like that.

    • Terence Stewart

Can you please double check if you can send your gift to the United States. I just looked on the Nintendo club website and I think that you can. Please email me at tstewart97@icloud.com for my shipping address and name. Thank you so much. Your are so generous. I really appreciate this.

  • Corey Watford

Does anyone know if points rollover, for e.g. Do I have to spend my points before a certain amount of time? etc

    • Marioman21

      Points last for 2 years

  • mojack411

I just hit Platinum status when I registered my MK8 copy for my free game!

  • JFizDaWiz

Finally. Now I can register a bunch of games. I already hit platinum so I was waiting to do these so they count towards 2014 platinum.

  • Jason

Does this mean that coins we don’t use wii dissapear?

    • gerb1977

No coins are good for 2 years. If you go to your account you can look and see if you have any coins set to expire.

      • Jason

        Thanks.

  • Justin Graham

someone lend me 80 coins email me a grahamj474@gmail.com you would
    be the best

    • Michael Ocampo

You trying to get platinum or gold?

  • paulthevgking

i hope the platinum reward is cool, not a game or poster (although it might be). I want a statue or even really unlikely, a amiibo.

    • http://youtube.com/TheHopper2004 Hopper200456

      Nintendo hire this guy

    • tux_peng

I’m hoping for a limited edition amiibo

      • paulthevgking

when do they announce the prizes

        • mralloverit

some time in July according to the Club Nintendo FAQ.

      • mralloverit

Exactly. Another awesome Collector’s Edition piece for the game shelf.

    • Mr. J

I just checkd if I am and I am platinum woo boo!

  • Moyack

    ooooooh yeah!

    • Fred

You can tell when I graduated from College

    • http://sites.google.com/site/wiinupro Justin

I’m missing one :( but I think the reward that year was just the Punchout one.
I’m actually surprised I’ve been able to keep making a way to afford games.

edit: didn’t mean for the image to come out so big :

      • Chris Aita

2009 was the Punch Out one, the 2012 was the button collection. It was kinda lame.

  • Dominicruz

I only wish you can convert your points on nintendo credit for eshop I’m Platinum with
    2250 :(

    • Fred

You can’t do that, but I do the closest thing in that I only use my coins for free games. Every month I look at the free games being offered and if I think I’ll enjoy any of the games that’s what I use my coins on. No it’s not as good, but it’s good enough to keep me happy.

      • Dominicruz

the bad thing is that Nintendo doesn’y offer great games on club nintendo I don’t want old classic games I want real games for wii u or any indigame

        • Fred

Awhile back they offered a really fun Indie game on 3DS that I absolutely loved. It’s called Starship Defense. It’s not super common, but they offer indie games on there some months. I got Dillions Rolling Western on there (I’m not a huge fan of the game, but some people really love it). I also got Mario vs Donkey Kong Minis march again, they’ve had Warioware DIY Showcase, and Sakura Samari, as well as Fluidity, Dr. Mario Express, Art Academy First Semester, Radar Mission, You Me and the Cubes, Snowpack Park, Eco Shooter Plant, Art Style: Pictobits, Brain Age Express: Sudoku, Maboshi’s Arcade, Electroplankton, Bonsai Barber, PictureBook, Bird & Beans, Pro-Putt Domo, Art Style: Rotozoa, Touch Solitaire, ThruSpace, Art Style: Aquia, Link ‘n’ Launch, Aura-Aura Climber

  • Tray

Last year, the announced the elite rewards in July. Hoping for something really cool this year.

  • 00EpicGamer00

I have platinum! Hopefully it’s something good, and not like greeting cads, lol.

    • Fred

I’m hoping for free games. I know most of you want toys or posters or something, but I’m more happy with free games.Although someone suggested an Amiibo and I’d LOVE that.Unfortunately I’ve never bought a single Skylander or Disney Infinity game-toy and I’m afraid if they give me a free Amiibo figure it might start me into buying piles of NFC toys to go with my piles of Nintendo games

  • WT Herrod Jr.

Sitting at platinum already and have two surveys that expire tomorrow… Regarding expiration does that mean that they are no longer available tomorrow or will be available tomorrow and then gone on July 2nd? Anyone know?

  • ThugSmokerzOnly

so do i have to use my coins today??

    • Fred

No, not all coins expire today. The coins do have an expiration date, but it’s a period of time after you earned them, not a specific date on the calendar for all of everyone’s coins

  • Thomas Vienna

I just don’t really buy games this time of year, so I don’t have anything I can wait to redeem. Doesn’t matter, I always end up getting to Platinum Status anyway.

  • tux_peng

MK8 got me up to 610 for the year; tomorrow I’ll get my free game and register my copy of Tomodachi life (waiting so they’ll count for next years platinum)

    • tux_peng

Last year I had 270. Already have purchases planned that’ll get me to 600 next year

  • MoodyG355

Dang. I needed 70 coins to get Platinum status. Ah, oh well.

  • M4GE

could anyone who has some extra codes lying around send them to me? it would be amazing.
    (bobbythebagel7@gmail.com)
I still need 80 to get to platinum.

  • sillybajillies

Had 290 coins. Luckily the Windwaker HD Post Play survey came in to finish it off!

  • http://nintendopapercraftvideos.wordpress.com/ Sam

Aw crap now I have to spend the coins I’ve been saving. And there’s nothing I really want, but I don’t want to waste money.

    • http://youtube.com/TheHopper2004 Hopper200456

You don’t loose your coins. This is just the last day to get Platinum or Gold status. Your coins will be fine.

      • http://nintendopapercraftvideos.wordpress.com/ Sam

        Oh okay good. Thanks. ;)

  • Jonathan Crout

i just got wii u in april never used club nintendo im 60 coins shy is there huge difrence in prizes between ogld and platinum what r prizes do u get free games if its free games i hope i get something good for hitting gold

  • steveb944

Thanks for this post! I was able to lock in Platinum with a Mario Kart post play survey, I wanted to save it but my other ones weren’t enough points.

  • brian

Already at platinum. Waiting to do surveys for MK8 and WWHD after today.

  • Ghost8484

So does that mean I need to spend my points I have saved up? What does this mean?

    • brian

Nope. Just means that you have until today to lock in Gold or Platinum status with coins earned. Coins don’t go away.

      • Ghost8484

Thanks.. I was about to go spending like crazy!!

        • paddle008

Coins do expire after 2 years you can check them on Club Nintendo.

  • ZeldaFan83

The Platinum rewards are usually pretty good so why do the regular rewards on their site suck so much.

  • Juilen Cardenas

So.. now all your coins will disappear?

    • tux_peng

No. Click Account->Status to see if you have any expiring coins

  • Chris Aita

Six years and counting. Can’t wait for next year!

  • Alejandro A

So.. I’m at 590 coins and I need 10 for platinum. Thing is, I just downloaded Castlevania III last night which according to the nintendo club website is worth 10 coins. When will I get those 10 coins by tonight???

  • Austin Troth

Thank you for this article, I would have missed it if you hadn’t posted this!

  • I am Error.

Crosses fingers for Custom Amiibo but will probably end up with yet another Mario item…

  • Color Colo

Now have 630 coins status platinum if use coins 250 status will degrade to gold ?

  • Mr Ninty

where do you find that platinum status? or is it only america

  • Nate

Thanks to this article I didn’t waste my platinum status. I hadn’t checked my Club Nintendo account in a while and after seeing this article I logged in and found I needed 85 more coins. Easily knocked off 60 coins with surveys waiting from my puchase of Mario Kart 8 and the free Wii Party U download. To get the remaining 25 coins I bought Toki Tori 2 and Stick it to the Man (at 20 coins each). Hopefully there is a great gift this year!

    • Nookling

Toki Tori two is a great game!

      • Nate

I’m liking it so far (great deal at $5.99 too). The art style and sound effects make it a charming and relaxing game but much like the first game it is really hard to figure out some of the puzzles!

        • Nookling

The difficulty is part of the appeal :)

  • Jon Cofer
