I thought Sonic Boom wasn’t going to be released in Japan. I guess they must be testing the waters to see how people over there react to it.

    • David Trail

Despite what people are saying about Sonic Boom. I am looking forward to it. I loved Sonic Lost World.

      • jjbredesen

I am not that impressed with what i have seen so far, but i like the idea, will wait for reviews before i make up my mind.

Sonic has been going down hill lately (no pun intended) so i hope they are able to get back on track soon..

        • David Trail

It has never been down hill for me. Have you played Sonic Colours, Sonic Lost World, Sonic Rush, Sonic Generations etc?

I even enjoy Mario and Sonic despite bad reviews. I would always play a game myself rather than base my opinion on someone else’s entirely.

          • jjbredesen

I have and i think they where decent, but not fantastic not as good as the old days, there ok, but i am really picky with games :P I bought the 2 first mario and sonic games on DS, but not any of the ones that came after as they where just medicore games.

          • David Trail

Each to their own I guess.

          • matthew garcia

Ha lol aren’t you the one always comparing games based off of metacritic scores. Your retarded

          • David Trail

I only use them when they support my theory lol.

            Ps it is you’re.

          • matthew garcia

That seems to always be your theory.

          • David Trail

And plus Sonic Colours, Sonic Generations and Sonic Rush all got good reviews.

          • matthew garcia

            Not my type of games.

          • David Trail

Like I said each to their own. Multiplats are not my type of game especially when most are grey fps games and car racing games.

          • matthew garcia

I like fps shooters, rpgs, 3rd person adventure, racers and sports games. Oh and rts strategy games like xcom. That was a badass game to me

          • David Trail

            cool.

        • MerryBlind .

Me neither. To be honest, yet polite, I think Sonic Boom actually looks like a very, very sub-par game. At least Lost World looked great when it was announced and had a lot of potential, and I really enjoyed the game when I finally got a Wii U.

I hope Sonic Boom won’t suck, though it seems quite likely it will so far. That’s too bad because personally I really enjoyed the recent Sonic games. I loved Unleashed, Generations, and Lost World, and will play Colors for sure at one point.

Hopefully the other Sonic title being developed by the actual, usual, Sonic Team, will blow us away!

          • jjbredesen

Yup, i hope it does to, for now i will keep an open mind on Sonic Boom as i like the concept, but the footage they have shown so far has not been really good :/

      • JoshuaMariguez197

I’m just disappointed they gimped the 3DS version like they did they could’ve at least made it look as good as Generations on the 3DS not as bad as a launch window DS title

    • http://about.me/overlordror Ashley King

This is Japan Expo being held in Paris. So it makes sense to showcase it there, where it will be released. Sonic is a Japanese owned franchise, regardless of whether this particular game will be released in Japan or not.

    • jjbredesen

It will under the name: Sonic Toon

    • The Clockwork Being

This is a Japanese Expo in France. Sonic Boom will be released over there so it is all natural for them to showcase it.

    • Noah

Originally, Iizuka didn’t want it released in Japan, but I believe he either changed his mind or SEGA went over his authority. I will be released in Japan as Sonic Toon. I’m not sure the cartoon will be released in Japan.

Oddly enough, the cartoon is made in France and this expo is in Paris.

  • David Trail

I want Mario Party 10 and Captain Toad already!

  • David Trail

DKC TF, Unepic, Mario Kart 8, Pushmo, One Piece, Hyrule Warrors, Sonic Boom, Project Cars, Watch Dogs, Guacamelee, Shovel Knight, Blox Drop U, 1001 Spikes, Nes Remix 2, Captain Toad, Devils Third, Bayonetta 2 with Bayonetta 1, Smash Bros for Wii U.

As a Nintendo gamer I clearly have nothing to play that is worth while this year.

    • jjbredesen

Has there been any news on Watch Dogs release date??????

      • David Trail

It will probably come out some time before the end of the year. I am getting the Wii U version even though I have a PS4 as it will have less bugs and glitches, miiverse support, free online and game pad functionality.

        • Jeremy Saunders

the game’s good but overrated though. Graphically it is not that good so it should run fine on Wii u.

          • David Trail

I know, it is overrated. Wanted to get it on Wii U though so at least I don’t feel as much as a mug for having the buggy/ glitchy incomplete version that are on the PS4/ Xbox One.

          • JoshuaMariguez197

Knowing Nintendo the Wii U version probably runs at 60fps with 720p

          • bistricky

I will take a steady 60fps any day.
I will also get Watch Dogs U, as a Christmas stocking stuffer from my family.

          • JoshuaMariguez197

It seems to be how Nintendo is how would you say “Staying relevant” instead of the “900p 30fps” fight (EA is down right screwed themselves making a 30fps fighting game) they’re making their games 720p 60fps I’m pretty sure Ubi will oblige considering how many bugs and stuff the XB1 and PS4 had

      • Officer Raichu

It’s coming out in November as stated by the CEO of ubisoft

        • jjbredesen

          Thanks :)

  • David Trail

2015 is so good Mario Part 10, Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Zelda U, Starfox, Miyamotos robot game, Mario Maker, Mario and Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Kirby, plus many, many more!

  • jjbredesen

Miyamoto will not be attending Japan Expo because his father is sick:

Nous avons le regret d’annoncer que Mr Miyamoto ne sera pas présent à Japan Expo pour des raisons personnelles liées à la santé de son père.— Nintendo France (@NintendoFrance) 30. juni 2014

  • Ernie Sanguyo

I hope NES remix 1-2 physical copy comes in U.S :)

    • David Trail

      I hope they make a SNES REMIX ; )

    • bistricky

That is also on my wish list. Cheers :D

  • David Trail

    Not sure what to play?

I am playing Toki Tori 2, Pushmo, Mario Kart 8 and Lego City Under Cover at the moment.

I think I am going to play some Puhmo. That game really surprised me with how fun it is. The puzzles are fun and challenging.

  • MerryBlind .

Well I’m eager to see more of a lot of the games on this list, so it sounds interesting to me!

  • Madmagican

No Wii U Smash Bros? Strange.

    • MerryBlind .

Indeed. Though to be honest I’ve see more than enough of the game already. I just want to play it.

    • The Clockwork Being

Not at all. The one at E3 was mostly just a demo and there are still alot of tweaks to be made to the game. The one at E3 was probably to get a little feedback from the players at the event.

Let’s not forget that if Smash Bros was there it would probably overshadow the games that are going to be showcased over there at the Japan Expo in France.

      • Madmagican

        But the 3DS version’s fine?

        That doesn’t exactly make sense

        • The Clockwork Being

The 3DS version is coming out earlier than the Wii U version so it could be possible that this one is closer to completion. Plus the Wii U version only had the fighting mode while the 3DS has Smash Run, which is new to the smash bros franchise and it has the fighting mode.

The 3DS should be showcased since Smash Run is a new and exciting mode in the franchise

    • Mr. J

Ikr…the weird thing is that they’re still showing off pikmin 3 though.

      • bistricky

Maybe to demonstrate the new gampad features for Pikmin 3.
        Cheers :D

        • Mr. J

          True

      • Bobby P.

It is a bit strange, but that game is so good it deserves to not be forgotten.

    • nigeriangamer

      No devil’s third?even stranger.

  • Shaise

    Why Pikmin 3? DLC?

    • Themasteroftruth

They gotta feel the gap with something

    • David Trail

      Pikmin 3 dlc… Awesome!

    • bistricky

      see my reply earlier.

  • greengecko007

That looks like a long list of games for the expo, which is obviously great. I hope we are able to get more information on some of the new games announced at E3 like Splatoon and Captain Toad.

  • Dáibhí wotshissurname

aaaand I ‘m the only one who notices or wants the YuGiOh game.

    • David Trail

I want one one Wii U. The game pad would be awesome for card games.

      • Dáibhí wotshissurname

True dat. What would be relly coolis if they made YGO cards out of plastic and you could scan them into the Wii U game via NFC, Actually, that would be money hoarding by Konami, bht I am surprised they have not done this yet.

    • Adrian

i would buy a wiiu yu gi oh game! duelist of the roses and Forbidden memories were so much fun!

  • Jon

have my eyes deceived me? More Wii U than 3DS exhibits? Though I find it strange how they left smash for Wii U out of this…

  • great deku tree

you’d think that the wii u version of super smash bros 4 would be shown off as well…….oh well.

  • Rinslowe

What I’ve been thinking lately is where the heck is Shin’ens two new games? They make a deal about revealing them and then nothing? Has art of balance made it to the E-shop yet? If so, then I missed that memo. What about Fast Racing Neo? E3 I can kinda understand so close to Kart but now? Surely there’s footage they could show or whip up a demo for “Japan Expo” in Paris…
    Odd.

  • InterTreble

“Wii U has no games”… If they say so… :)

  • Roaming Pear

    Affordable Space Adventures!!!!!

  • Petri

If I knew about this, I would have reserved our vacation to Paris a lot sooner, just to play Bayonetta 2, but we have our trip planned for August…
I don’t really even want to go, but wife has been bugging the hell out of me…
