Last week we reported that Nintendo’s legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto would be in attendance at Japan Expo this year as a special guest in honor of his achievements. Unfortunately that isn’t the case, as Nintendo of France tweeted this morning to let Expo goers know that Miyamoto will not be able to attend due to his father’s illness. You can see the tweet below in French, which translated says:
Nous avons le regret d’annoncer que Mr Miyamoto ne sera pas présent à Japan Expo pour des raisons personnelles liées à la santé de son père.

We regret to announce that Mr. Miyamoto will not be present at Japan Expo for personal reasons related to the health of his father.
This is unfortunate news for anyone who was eager to meet Mr. Miyamoto.
