Miyamoto Wii U

Japan Expo is an event held every year in Paris at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center. This year legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto will be in attendance as the 15th Anniversary special guest for the show. Miyamoto has worked on more than 100 different games and many of the iconic franchises gamers know and love such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, StarFox and Metroid are directly a result of his work.

Miyamoto will be in attendance on Friday, July 4 from 2:45pm to 4:15pm. If you’ll be attending Japan Expo, you’ll have a chance to meet him.

Could this mean a Japan Expo Nintendo Direct?!

  • Sdudyoy

Cool I guess, Although I couldn’t attend if I wanted to, Not enough money, and besides that’s the day of my Sisters and Mothers birthday.

    • Ducked

Your sister was born on the same day as her/your mother?

      • MerryBlind .

Could be. I was born the day just before my mom’s birthday!

      • Sdudyoy

Yep, and on independence day, odd.

        • Ducked

That’s pretty awesome, and pretty crazy at the same time.

  • jjbredesen

Hmm, this could be interesting, we will not get to see Starfox or anything, but a closer look at project giant robot, and the 12 camera game i guess is guaranteed.

Perhaps a Nintendo Direct is already on its way? More info on Smash is possible, and perhaps more Amiibo info, but E3 was only 16 days ago, so i don’t think there will be one.

Not sure at all what will happen, but i can’t wait to see :P

    • Logan Wayman

I was thinking the same thing about the Direct!

    • Jack5221

Im kind of expecting one mid August / early September. Ya know, to build up hype for the holiday season.

      • Ducked

Couldn’t word it any better. I’m hoping for a exact release date for Smash Wii U as well.

        • Daniel Gonzalez

I’m waiting on the 3DS port.

          • Ducked

I don’t think I’ll be buying the 3DS version, only because I don’t know any people who have a 3DS. Also I don’t want to spend an extra $40. Then again, an earlier release date makes it tempting.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Well I have no interest in re-buying a Wii U for myself, so 3DS is what I’ll be buying. I have a good handful of friends who have one and plan on buying Smash, so I guess in my case, all is good. I think regardless, both versions will be fun, and neither of us will miss out. :)

          • Ducked

Gotcha. It’s opposite for me, everyone is waiting for Smash on Wii U to purchase a Wii U. They act like it isn’t even coming to the 3ds. 3DS does have better software at the time. Wii U has some solid games coming out…in 2015 that is. I do regret buying my Wii U so early. But at least I have some games. Will you be gaming on PC. PS4 or Xbox One?

          • Daniel Gonzalez

In due time, yes. Even the Wii U. I take my time buying each console. I’m in no rush. I just go with what is the better investment to me. My next purchase is to get an Xbox One. Sunset Overdrive really caught my interest. Not to mention Halo 5 is around the corner. As for PC, been there for a while now. Who can resist those Steam sales. Lol. I wish consoles had sales like that.

          • Ducked

I’ve never had a gaming PC, but even I know about those steam sales that you can’t resist. I sure do wish they had those kind of sales on consoles. Scalebound is the only thing I’ve seen so far to interest me in a Xbox One. I’m planning on buying the white destiny PS4 bundle. I miss the 6th gen, all you had to do was buy a PS2 and you literally got every game lol.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

PS2 was awesome. Lol. There were so many releases that I cant even recall a drought. 8th gen to me feels like a 6th gen, only that Xbox One is in last place. I recommend getting a gaming PC if you ever get the chance. You won’t regret it.

          • Ducked

I do feel the same way, it feels like 6th gen, except the games are spread over three systems. I’ll probably invest in a gaming PC then, I’ll definitely end up saving money.

          • Michael Hancock

            You have friends?

          • http://obaforums.wordpress.com DragonSilths

Doesn’t matter if you don’t know anyone with a 3DS which is shocking to say the least, play online on the 3DS version against people.

          • Ducked

Yes, but it doesn’t have that fun feeling of being in the same room with a bunch of people. I don’t really game online much.

          • http://obaforums.wordpress.com DragonSilths

            I see.

    • gerb1977

I’m guessing a direct mid August but that is just a guess as I’m not sure of the release dates for Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta in Japan.

Probably another in early October and mid November to hype up the holiday season.

I’d like to know what Retro is up to and how FEvSMT is coming along. Not too mention some specific release dates for projects we know about.

      • 00EpicGamer00

I’m not sure about Bayonetta, but Hyrule Warriors is suppose to be released in August for Japan, and September for America.

        • http://obaforums.wordpress.com DragonSilths

Bayonetta 2 comes out October in North America.

    • Ducked

Usually Nintendo Directs happen every 2-3 months. I expect to see the next one in August/September. Exactly like Jack 5221 said.

      • http://obaforums.wordpress.com DragonSilths

There was a time where it was like 1 a month. Then it went to 1 every 2 months.

      • jjbredesen

Yeah i agree, just speculating what could happen.

    • http://obaforums.wordpress.com DragonSilths

NO MORE INFO ON SMASH. My god I’m sick of seeing it lol. I watched like 10 hours during E3 week of it. We have seen almost everything about it. Other then a new character reveal all thats left to go over is if Stage Creator is coming back or the Classic Mode with Master Hand.

      • jjbredesen

Yeah, i don’t want anymore info it was just a suggestion of what they could show, cause there is sort of nothing they will have just 3-4 weeks after E3…

    • Mr. J

I know this kinda sounds weird and don’t take me wrong I really want smash…….but if they do a new nintendo direct I hope they don’t talk about it at all and focus on the new e3 titles.

      • Mr. J

But we know that won’t happen because most of those games don’t come out until 2015

      • jjbredesen

Yeah i agree, but i can’t really find anything for them to talk about already, so i think there will be one later.

  • Ducked

A Japan Expo in Paris? …Okay.

    • Ultrasyd

Just like Hyper Japan in London

    • Clel

Hey, don’t hate on us Frenchies! :C

      • Ducked

I’m not hating, I’m French myself. Lol

  • bistricky

Bandai Namco will also be at the Japan Expo as well, “teasing additional titles and surprises”.

Personally, I hope that they will announce the new Godzilla game for the Wii U (it was announced 4 days ago for the PS3) …. that would make my day.

    Cheers :D

    • Logan Wayman

Wait a minute, a new Gojira game? Are you trolling me? Any proof?

    • Daniel Carvalho

Bandai Namco will also be there? Add Miyamoto to that and the result is more Smash Bros. news! Hope we’re talking about Tales of characters now!

  • darkcreap

I wish I could just once see this guy in person. Just once to say him thank you for all the great things he has helped to create. Not that he would care about a fan he does not know, but I would like just to have that moment.

  • Ultrasyd

Now I think I should have choosed to attend this one. I’d like to meet this guy !

  • Carlos Webster

You know, I guess a lot of people are excited for this.

  • Ian Settlemyer

Maybe Takamaru and a few veterans will be revealed there?

  • Rinslowe

Mr Miyamoto san is a busy man…
And he certainly is putting in a lot of mileage into his travel lately.

    Don’t over do it!

  • Josie the Sketcher

I love Miyamoto – he has this funny and unique personality and creates great innovative ideas for Nintendo. I like Iwata but I would prefer Miyamoto to be president of Nintendo.

  • Yousif Alromaithi

I heard that the creator of Final Fantasy will be their. I expect a Nintendo 3DS title or a Wii U. This year Nintendo is on steam.
