Curve Studios still has one unannounced Wii U title in development

curve-studios-logo

Curve Studios has been a prolific developer for Wii U ports, as they’re bringing The Swapper, Lone Survivor, and Stealth Inc. to the Wii U later this year. According to a recent tweet, the team has another unannounced title they’re working on as well. The title will be revealed later this year and there’s no telling what it could be, given the studio’s propensity for porting other games. It’s possible we could see Thomas Was Alone or another indie title on Wii U.

With the development of Stealth Inc. 2 reserved exclusively for the Wii U, it could also be a port of the first game for Wii U owners. Either way, we’re happy to see Curve Studios working on so many projects for Wii U gamers.

Curve Studios has slowly become my favorite indie company. Lone Survivor is a little old, but these all look like great games. Looking forward to The Swapper and Stealth Inc 2.

    • ScrewAttack

Lone survivor is a crazy creepy game. The whole thing genuinely makes me feel uncomfortable, uneasy, it’s just that good.

Dunno if I’ll pick it up on Wii U for that reason! lol

      • rp17

The only reason I probably won’t get it is that I saw Markiplier play it… so the surprise of the story is kinda ruined…

Sidenote: I didn’t know that Curve Studios made Fluidity until I found out about Stealth B****** and Stealth Inc. So it’s awesome to see Stealth Inc 2 a Wii U exclusive. And every new game announcement is just as good. Glad to see there’s still another game from them on the way!

Without anyone noticing, the Wii U is traveling the same path as the 3DS.
Next year from now, this console will be a must-have <3

    • Vettori

Wii U was a must have on launch day. Next year Sony and Microsoft will have withdrawn from the console war.

      • WellWisher

No it wasn’t and no they won’t. It’s my favourite of the three but come on!

      • Rinslowe

Say whaat?? Not before I get Uncharted, *TLOU 2 and Halo 5 they won’t. I forbid it…
        Lol.

        • Arthur Jarret

The last of us was such a wonderful, finite story that I really don’t want a sequel. I’d rather they take the Quantic dream route and make a spiritual sequel – something taking similar gameplay & narrative cues but an entirely different setting & story.

Speaking of Quantic dream, I wonder how that Dark wizard game is coming along – and if it will actually ever be more than a tech demo. If it is, I hope they’ll make it a comedy like the trailer.

          • Rinslowe

You have a good point. And yet Naughty Dog has vaguely played with the idea. I’m all for more spiritual sequels. And basically whatever they have cooking in that vein, I’m a day one adopter.

          • Arthur Jarret

Wether it’s Crash (only 1-3 and team racing), Jak, Uncharted or The last of us – everything Naughty dog works on is gold.

They’ve just got a real pedigree in pushing hardware to the limit while making quality gameplay.

In terms of content, they went from child-friendly mascot games to cartoony political satire to hollywood blockbuster to thoughtful tragedy – it’s the only studio I know that had the types of games they make in-sync with their original fans growing up.

As Aonuma and Miyamoto’s games make me instantly buy any Nintendo device, so does Naughty dog compels me to buy playstation.

          • Rinslowe

            Pretty much yeah…
            :)

wow. that’s what I call a parallel universe. A nice one though. sigh.

    • Capt. Smoker

I’ll have whatever your smoking, sounds like some grade A quality shit ;)

I smoke Hopes and Dreams :D

    • xTrucho3

It was for me since launch day, starting in September, Wii U is going to a have a rack of lineup of games starting with Hyrule Warriors

  • Archiq09

Dont Forget Hive Jump … is now only for PC and Wiiu and the game has a graphic update ;)
    They are remake a kickstarter

    • uPadWatcher

Now THIS could be an eShop seller if Curve port it to the U.

      • rp17

Lol but Graphite Lab is the one making this. And it will be a Wii U exclusive (besides PC) if their Kickstarter is funded. They haven’t launched it quite yet though.

      • http://facebook.com/validgraphics val berger

I’d be curious about sales figures of eshop-titles in general. I doubt any of these games is really gonna be called an ‘eShop seller’. I hope they sell enough to not regret supporting the WiiU, but I don’t really feel like Nintendo’s eShop is really a working ground to earn money for developers.

I’d love to be wrong on this one, it’s just what my guts keep telling me.

    • rp17

It looks pretty sick. It looks like Super Metroid, plays like Contra, and has 4 player co-op (local or online)!!! Count me in!

  • BIG Franky

oh good! more garbage! a nice little collection of JUNK! just what the Wii U needs, LOL… (as if there isn’t enough of that trash available on there already!

    • uPadWatcher

From the taste of your salty tears, you’re sad that more indies showing love to Nintendo on both platforms. This is one of them.

    • Capt. Smoker

Aye, we’re expected to be grateful for these releases, I’m not even in the slightest bit grateful for any of it :D

    • xTrucho3

Same goes for the PS4 if you’re talking about indies

  • Arthur Jarret

I’ve been eyeing the swapper on steam for AGES – didn’t even notice it was the same dev as Stealth inc. and Lone survivor (which I got on PS3 already and can heartily recommend)

  • http://www.screenhog.com Screenhog

I’d totally go for Thomas Was Alone. That game looked great.

  • Des

Indie games, shmindie games. Is 3rd party support so lacking that people are getting exciting about indie shovelware?

    • Arthur Jarret

At least Wii U has got the Nintendo first party titles as a single USP over Vita, the other indieconsole.

But yeah, it’s a bit like getting excited for a new Naruto episode, while knowing it’s a filler episode full of pointless side-characters and a story that doesn’t matter to the main narrative.

It’s still Naruto, you’ll still watch it – but it’s not really what you want.

      • Des

Exactamundo! I’m just not a big fan of the indie games. I don’t buy them for the PS3 or the Wii U. I’m just hoping that the boost in sales continues due to Mario Kart 8 and the upcoming 1st party games. Perhaps that’ll bring some more 3rd party support back to the console. Then maybe there will be enough new software in the pipeline that WiiUDaily wouldn’t have to waste their time covering these corny Indie Games. I know, pip dream.
