Ghirahim is a boss in Hyrule Warriors

ghirahim-boss

Yesterday we showed you the massive gallery of new screenshots that have been added to the official Hyrule Warriors website by Tecmo Koei. Along with those shots we got to see some Skyward Sword environments as they appear in the game, as well as a new playable character in the form of Fi. Notorious baddie Ghirahim was also shown off, though it wasn’t made clear whether he would be playable or a boss to be defeated in the game.

Today, Nintendo of Europe tweeted the following to clarify that.

That’s bad news for those who were hoping to get behind the reigns of Ghirahim as a playable character, but for those of you who are happy he makes an appearance in Hyrule Warriors, he’s once again up to his old schemes.

Does the addition of these new characters make you more excited to play the game in September? Let us know in the comments.

But I thought that the bad guys were often playable in DW games?

    • lonewolf88

he most likely will be playable just not in story but in multiplayer yes mostlikely

      • CEObrainz

That’s good enough for me, as long as he keeps his laugh whilst slashing through cannon fodder I won’t mind….

      • JCdude

As long as he’s playable in any mode I’ll be happy.

  • Shinigami King

I think it would be cool if there was a “bad guy” roster where the bosses you fight end up being playable in either a separate campaign or just for fun. We could even play as Zant, Vulga, Wizro, Ganondorf and all the other baddies they have revealed so far. It doesn’t seem to out there for that to be a fair wish.

  • Chris Orr

Would be really cool if they had two story mode: Hero and Villain. From what I’ve heard about Warrior games, you can play as the good guys and the bad guys, so hopefully they continue that in at least multiplayer.

    • abe

the Dynasty and samurai Warrior games don’t really have “bad guys” just different sides are fighting for the same sort of thing. Not sure how it works with their licensed games like Gundam, Fist of the northstar, One- Piece or Kamen Riders

Why get your hopes up on a game for the Wii U ……. more times then not it’ll be delayed or cancelled. :(

    • FatMasterBass

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

      • bistricky

Thanks for your comment. My comment was in reference to another game being delayed for the Wii U only …. that being, Project Cars, and my frustration with it. It was said in jest to this article. So I do know full well what I am talking about …. even if you didn’t understand it.

        • FatMasterBass

It’s not that I didn’t understand it, it’s that you made an unfunny, unclever, sweeping generalization about Wii U games based on some shitty little no-name shovelware like “Project Cars” as if it’s anywhere NEAR the tier of a Zelda game. You have no sense of humor and you have no understanding of Nintendo or gaming.

  • Squid

He’ll likely be playable after the main game.

  • Lusunup

Boss in story but that doesn’t mean he won’t be playable.

  • BIG Franky

obvi Ashley isn’t too experienced with DW games… the bad guys will always be playable…. there will most likely be around 50 playable characters in this game.

    • iamserious

I am not very experienced with these types of games either but man this game looks like it’ll be tons of fun! 50 characters!?! Do you really think it’s possible??? If so that’s awesome!

      • BIG Franky

sure, its definitely possible…. notice how they are drawing from elements across the entire Zelda universe…. there will be Medli, there will be Tingle, Skull Kid, Zant, Dark Link (Shadow Link), the Happy Mask Salesman, Talon, Saria, Groose, obvi Gannon, etc… there will be Gorons, Zoras, etc… plus probably more original characters like Lana …. bottom line: there will be MANY playable characters.. .and yes, this game looks awesome.

      • FatMasterBass

DW8 had 83 playable characters. It’s not hard to imagine this game having 50, but we’ll see.

    • abe

normally yes but the licensed spin off tend to have less character overall and some do tend to get locked. I’d have trouble naming 50 Zelda characters lol and out of them i cant think of many i’d want to play as… here’s hoping sheik will be playable in some form!

and not once have they done something like a Lu Bu mech in gundam Warriors which makes me sad. I’d love to see a Zelda take on Lu Bu

      • FatMasterBass

“Lu Bu mech”…? Son that’s Musha Gundam, and it existed before Dynasty Warriors Gundam.

  • Yuuki

I’m slightly worried for him and the other villians because they’re bosses. Dynasty Warriors series doesn’t have “Villians”. Things aren’t that black and white in the DW Series, you can’t really label most of the characters as a hero or villain. However I still believe these guys will at least be “Free Mode” type characters.

    • FatMasterBass

Pure villains were playable in Ken’s Rage and DWG.

  • Moreck

I wonder how they’ve modified his behavior & techniques to be more appropriate for a large-scale battle.

  • Vextrum

Meh. He’ll probably be playable outside of story mode. I want to finally access the power of DAT TONGUE.

  • Jackson five

From all the screenshots they’ve been showing It sure looks like there’s gonna be a ton of red bokoblins. Hopefully there’s more variety in regular enemies.

  • thunk

I can’t wait to play as her.

  • Maikeru Shinigami

I honestly see nothing in that statement that says he won’t be playable.

  • Shrish Kumar

    Hey people.
I have made a great remix with looped footage of E3 2015 reveal of The Legend Of Zelda using Twilight Princess Symphonic Movement from TLoZ 25th Ann. Special Orchestra CD. It’s a great watch.
PLEASE watch it if you like TLoZ series.
