Pre-order Bayonetta 2 on Amazon in Japan and they’ll throw in… A cloth.

Pre-order Bayonetta 2 on Amazon in Japan and they'll throw in... A cloth.

We’ve seen plenty of weird pre-order bonuses over the years, but this one from Amazon Japan really stands out. If you pre-order Bayonetta 2 on Amazon in Japan, they’ll throw in a free Bayonetta 2-branded cleaning cloth. That’s right, a cleaning cloth.

Usually, retailers get to offer some sort of incentive for pre-ordering games, usually an exclusive item such as a figurine or a poster or some in-game content. And of all the things Amazon.jp could have chosen, they chose a cleaning cloth. It might come in handy when you need to clean the screen on our Wii U GamePad. Or your kitchen counter.

Bayonetta 2 will be released in Japan on September 20, and about a month later in Europe and North America. Bayonetta 2 will also include the original Bayonetta game as well. Both the retail version and digital download will include both games.

    It makes sense…

It’s for cleaning themselves after a long period watching “Bayopussy moves”

    ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

    • Magnus Eriksson

Yeah, part of Nintendos new fitness ideology.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

        Wii Clean U

        • nintendope

          I came.

  • Jeffrey Debris

Well, I guess anyone would have to clean their GamePad’s screen after extensive sessions with Bayonetta. :P

    • Daniel Gonzalez

      Ahem….no comment.

    • matthew garcia

Lol I guess it could be there for jizz clean up. How thoughtful of them

      • Magnus Eriksson

I think its more of an asswipe for all that shit. I find it kind of amuzing, although a bit unnecessarly to rub it in. Its a little like:

-Yeah, yeah! We got it now. Wii U is shit and all the games are shit. Thank you Amazon for reminding us…

No, but jokes at the side. A piece of cloth illustrates quite good how little belief they have in the poor system. They could just have dropped it alltogether.

        • matthew garcia

With the billions Nintendo has in the bank you would think Nintendo would try so much more to help lift up the Wii u but maybe they have lost faith on Wii u. I know people will call me a ps4 fanboy but it’s amazing how broke Sony is but how much they do to keep ps4 popular

          • Magnus Eriksson

Yeah, they value their fans at least.

          • Rinslowe

It just could be that Japan favours the “cloth” above all else, lol.
No point in trying to apply European standards to Japanese culture…

In the west Nintendo will include “2 wet wipes” instead. Disposable.

          • David

            Fuck yo face.

        • David

          Trick ass bitch.

        • Rinslowe

          Nope. They’re giving away bidet’s for that…

        • Thomas Vienna

You really think that Nintendo’s lack of faith is represented by an unusual preorder bonus choice? a) Not every game gets a preorder-bonus at all, and those that do tend to be real cheap anyway. b) This game is coming bundled with the entire first entry of the game. What more could fans ask them to throw in?

          • Magnus Eriksson

            Yes, thats kind of obvious

    • aldo2410

      You know, it’s a resistive touch screen ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • Virus6

I’ve seen a few Japanese games come with a terry cloth. Even Club Nintendo offered terry cloths as a reward for a while. I don’t see why this is considered weird

    • Daniel Gonzalez

      For a pre-order, I’d call that weird.

    • Jonathan Robitaille

because this forum is filled with dudebro 13 year olds that live in their mother’s basement.

      • ufg

Pretty much. But why would 13 year olds live in their mother’s basement? Surely at that age they wouldn’t have been required to leave home yet?

        • Rinslowe

They’re the ones that aren’t down there by choice. But still get to use the internet for 30 minutes a day.

          Mostly from Texas they say…

        • Jonathan Robitaille

because they are hidden away lest visitors lay eyes upon their pale fat skin and acne. It’s like a bribe. You stay down there and out of site, and I will buy you that game every week. I’m being facetious but I am betting it actually does go down like this in way too many households.

          • Nintendo Fan

That’s really biased of you. It probably does NOT go like that in households. It could be considered apusive.

  • Sdudyoy

It’s one of those weird things that collectors will love, I guess I could use it to clean my glasses or something.

  • GmailIsDown

    well this is actually useful

  • Lusunup

    *Insert virgin videogamer comment*

  • Daniel Gonzalez

A cloth, huh? I guess Nintendo can use it to start off on a clean slate pertaining to marketing and third party support.

    • Yoshifan3

that probably wont happen for awhile, however im in love with platinum right now and am really excited for bayo 2 and bayo 1. im playing metal gear rising revengance on my pc and im just enjoying the game immensely. platinum games just moved up to my number 2 favorite developer of all time.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

Probably not this gen, but there’s hope in the 9th one, though. Bit late now. Though, they can minimize the damage with some third party exclusives such as Bayo 2. Haven’t played Revengance yet. How is it?

    • Michael Hancock

      Weird joke, bro.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

        Thank you.

  • matthew garcia

That’s a lot of ass on her

    • uPadWatcher

With all due respect, Matthew… I agree with you.

    • Daniel Gonzalez

The cleaning cloth will serve its purpose well.

      • matthew garcia

        Better then the couch

    • Guest

Yup, and this is how you play it.

      • matthew garcia

Lol that is quite the simulation

        • Rinslowe

          Right up your alley huh?

          (Jokes)

  • HavokPants

    bayo 1

    cloth

  • Ben English

    Really. F’king really, guys?

    • Daniel Gonzalez

      Looks like it.

    • Nintendo Fan

      It looks like that yeah.

  • PS4WiiURocks

    Awesome

  • Ducked

These perverted comments must be coming from thirteen year olds…

    • Daniel Gonzalez

I think it’s ironic that the pre-order in Japan comes with a cleaning cloth.

      • Ducked

Different culture I’ll leave at that. lol

        • Daniel Gonzalez

That makes two of us. :P

      • Michael Legault

Maybe it’s a cleaning cloth for glasses, since she wears glasses?

    • matthew garcia

Well it’s a cloth that shows a lot of ass on purpose. That’s the 1st thing that came to my mind lol

      • Ducked

That is a good point. But us Disney characters just think differently.

        • matthew garcia

The little mermaid looks a little sleezy lol

          • Ducked

            She’s a slut. lol

          • matthew garcia

            Ha lol

          • Nintendo Fan

            Hahaha.

    • andrewjcole

Likely. I’m thirteen by the way, and let me tell you that thirteen year olds love trolling the internet. I think one of my friends actually trolls this exact site.

      • 00EpicGamer00

Is his name David Trail? xD

  • Dark Lord Sauron

cant be worse then getting a pair of boxers from catherine deluxe edition 360 game which was way creepier then a cloth

    • matthew garcia

Lol what size were those boxers.

      • Dark Lord Sauron

ive never got the game it self but if you look it up it says the deluxe edition comes with a pair of boxers

        • matthew garcia

          That is very odd

    • D Moness

      I forgot about that one.

  • uPadWatcher

This is cloth is good enough to wax my wood… en table in my living room.

  • Arkamarky

Best pre-order bonus ever!… Said no one ever

  • Marioman21

    Could be worse.

  • MujuraNoKamen

Weird but I’d still get it ;)

  • bistricky

This just in ….. Bayonetta 2 sales in Japan expected to rise.

    :D

    • Daniel Gonzalez
    • Jonathan Robitaille

awesome..very little the moronic trolls can come back with on that…though as weak as they are they will most likely try

      • matthew garcia

        I will try :)

      • Magnus Eriksson

Bayonetta 2 Metacritics score 6.5. Take that you trolls! :P

        • darkcreap

Ummm. That is not a good score, is it?

    • Mike

    • Rinslowe

Nothing to do with the cloth I hope.
      Loin Cloth…

    • 00EpicGamer00

I think PC can still get it through emulation, though.

  • Epicstuf

    WTF?!?

  • Craig Mclachlan

They should give every PS4 and XBoxOne owner a free cloth to wipe their slabbers, as they drool over every new WiiU game thats not a old gen port!:)

  • LordiMcKill

I don’t really find it weird, i use the same type of cloth to clean my gamepad. You’d be surprised how many fingerprints can mark a gloss controller.

  • Jonathan Robitaille

another ignorant article. There’s nothing wrong with a themed cleaning cloth. My God, what a c.u.n.t.

    • simkenno

Typical John Kinsley, just an ignorant bloke. I’ve only seen 2 of his articles where he’s not a sod.

  • simkenno

I love the idea. Also this sets Amazon apart from other retailers. This is a piece of gaming memorabilia now. This time 15-20years on a collector somewhere will be extatic about having this in his collection.

    • Jonathan Robitaille

right? not to mention the Wii U actually can utilize cleaning cloths so why not?

  • Alex0714

    I think it looks cool….

  • Epicstuf

    SO MUCH JIZZ! AHHHHHHHHH!

  • FutureFox

    The quality of life…indeed.

  • http://www.captincomics.webs.com CaptinnDaGameMaster!

JUST PREORDERED, GAIZ! I’M IN FOR LOOKIN AT DAT ASS ALL DAY.

    *sarcasm

    • Nintendo Fan

Really? Just go watch porn. That isn’t why Nintendo gave you that cloth.

  • Purple

Who cares theyre getting in japan? Is it coming to america? No? Then why report ? I just dont understand this website. Who cares about whats happening in Japan. I dont live in Japan.

    • 00EpicGamer00

Some people might? In case you’ve forgotten, this is a news site. So, with this being a news site, they’re going to report any news that has to do with the Wii U. Regardless of what country it takes place in. America isn’t the only place on Earth that sells electronic devices.

  • Adrian

I’m waiting for a good incentive to buy this game day 1. I don’t actually want the game, but I probably would get some enjoyment out of it. A MK8 like incentive might push me to purchase.

    • FutureFox

What does this even mean? You buy MK8. Play it. You get Bayo. You play it.

    • KH

That incentive exists, MK8 was getting it and you get a free game, and Bayonetta 2 is, get it, and get Bayonetta 1 for free. So the incentive is already there.

      • Adrian

In theory….except I don’t actually want to play Bayonetta 1 either. So to me it is not an incentive.

        • ben

So… you just wanted to troll… At least make an effort man…

          • Adrian

haha, if that’s how you rationalize it ben, sure. Just expressing my feelings.

  • aldo2410

Still better reward than: Club Nintendo Gold/Platinum 2014

    • FlashFan207

Wait, there’s a reward for that? I’ve been at Platinum since spring and they never told me anything about a “reward.” How do you find out?

      • aldo2410

Check your club nintendo, this year they are giving a game from a list of games, here is the article:
        http://wiiudaily.com/2014/07/club-nintendo-all-digital/

        • FlashFan207

Ah cool, there it is. Thanks for the tip! I’m thinking Game & Wario, NES Remix or Dr. Luigi. Not so bad choices for Wii U, but obviously no marquee games to choose from.

          • aldo2410

Wait for an Amazon discount on Wonderful 101, I got mine for 20 $

          • FlashFan207

Yep. Going to keep my eyes open.

  • Nic Solarfield

Club Nintendo have a Yoshi cleaning cloth. nothing wrong with that just good to wipe the dust off the screen. Good for the 3ds or any tablet.

  • nin-10-doughfan

    Very nice !D

  • sillybajillies

Maybe it’s for sexy people with sexy glasses so they can clean their sexy glasses and be sexy like Bayonetta with their sexy glasses that are extra clean and extra sexy so they can watch Bayonetta in all her sexy Wii U HD glory.

Nah, this is a weird pre-order bonus.

  • David Horowitz

So you can play the game and wipe your glasses off AT THE SAME TIME!!!

  • Thomas Vienna

That doesn’t seem like an entirely bad gift, especially from someone who wears glasses. I always have cleaning clothes handy to clear off my glasses/screen, but they’re all boring ol’ blue.

  • Petri

    I would frame that.

  • Prizm

reminds me of those prayer cloths that televangelists palm off. “Place this prayer cloth over the pain and BELIEVE in JESUS name!” Except now you can pray in Iwata’s name.

  • Epicstuf

Oh yeah, this reminds me of the condoms that they put in in Italy(I think) in Infamous Second Son.

    • Nintendo Fan

Wait wait wait. That actually happened? I thought that was a rumor somebody started as a joke?

      • Epicstuf

Nope, that wasn’t fake. It was real.

        • Nintendo Fan

How did that go by? Like seriously, what? How is the game so stimulating that it was deemed a good idea to put condoms in?

          • Epicstuf

I really don’t know. What were they going to do after the game? Expect to bone people?

          • Nintendo Fan

            I have NO idea.

          • Nintendo Fan

Maybe but you wouldn’t nessicaraly need a condom if you have a boner.

  • Kieran Ryan

Ooo nice. I want one of those to match my Yoshi cloth from Club Nintendo :D

  • Evan Laundrie

Kinsley, keep your editorial opinions to yourself or mark the article as ‘Opinion.’ Some may find a cleaning cloth very useful. Who says Amazon chose the cloth anyway?

  • Nintendo Fan

What? A cleaning cloth? I mean why not a T-Shit or something?

    • Nintendo Fan

      Oops. I meant T-shirt. Oops.

      • 00EpicGamer00

        You can edit your comments.

        • Nintendo Fan

I know. But I’m gonna let people laugh at the typo.

          • Epicstuf

T-Shit? My,My. A T-Shirt made out of shit! Well done. Get it Kickstarted!

          • Nintendo Fan

OK then. You’ll be my first buyer? (LOL.)

  • Darkness

    Wow, Nintendo always delivers…..

    LOL!!

  • linxz

    to dust off the wiiu

  • Vettori

A cloth does seem a little peculiar and makes me wonder why they bothered. But I doubt this will prevent ANYONE from pre-ordering it.
