Temporus Kickstarter adds Wii U stretch goal

The Temporus Kickstarter has been going on for a few weeks now and with just 10 days left on the clock, the team has added a Wii U stretch goal in order to entice more backers to make the project successful. At $35,000 the team will plan a version for the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. This is a big step above the previous tier, which is at $30,000 and will see the game available for Xbox and PlayStation platforms.

Currently the team is seeking $20,000 in funding to create the game and they have gathered around $7k in backer pledges. The game already has great talent working on it, including music from Jake Kaufman, who is responsible for the Shovel Knight sountrack.

    It looks decent. Though, I think I’ve seen this art style with a few games already. Too early to tell how good it will be. As for interest, haven’t seen enough yet to form a full opinion.

        just because I have a PS4 as well doesn’t mean I’m a “dude-bro” FPS gamer, LOL…. but seriously, as a Wii U owner, aren’t you kind of sick of these types of titles? I mean, I like Mutant Mudd & Shovel Knight as much as the next guy, but c’mon already! The Wii U is more than capable of handling other types of games. for real.

          They’re indie games. Most of them aim to only release on PC, but the Wii U seems to be getting a lot more of them than the other two consoles. Be glad the Wii U has that edge over the competition, and that they have something to fill the gaps between major releases.

          Yeah likely… but who is doing “AAA” sidescrolling games? If you like the genre I wouldn’t complain about the visuals. I agree it’s strange to see they are aiming on our nostalgia. It’s okay to make 2D “pixel art” when you’re doing have the budget and manpower of an average Assassin’s Creed game. I don’t necessarily want 8 Bit wannabes either. Just to do them what they want and like.

            i dont think people make “Nostalgia” games to trick people to play their games because they remember the good old days and want to relive it again. why trash some old ideas, when you can use it in new games?. i always thought that 2d platform games was so much fun when i was a kid. but then came playstation and everything became 3d and only 3d. it is too many 3d fps games today. a AAA game, does it mean it have to be expensive to make? AAA stands for a better rank than A. and it can be a “retro” 2d platformer. i think terraria is a AAA game, and minecraft. i play divinity original sin now, an indie AAA retro game. and that game is the best game i played in years..

    I’m sick of pixel art in so many games, because usually it seems to be there because they don’t have the budget for HD sprites. Shovelknight is the only game I’ve played in a long time that I think actually benefitted from the style.

      The shmup sections look fine to me. Then again I’m not a huge fan of post 16 Bit era shmups :)

    This sort of thing kinda bugs me. I’m not going to pretend to know the logistics behind bringing a game over to Wii U vs Xbox or PS but the reason I wouldn’t back it is because I’d only want it on Wii U. With it being a stretch goal, I don’t really want to pay money to back a project I likely won’t be able to play (unless it gets over 35k). Having different tiers of stretch goals related to different platforms and making Wii U the highest kills it for me.
