Pre-order 2 games at Kmart for around $35 a piece

kmart

Today’s special deal comes courtesy of Kmart and its rewards program, called Shop Your Way. If you don’t have a local Kmart in your area I believe you can sign up for the rewards card on Kmart’s website. This requires some finagling, by by the time you finish you’ll have pre-ordered 2 games for around $35 a piece.

Adding two games to your cart will bring the total to $104.98. Using the coupon code MAXSOCIAL75 will drop that down and with the rewards points from your card, you’ll have around $41 to add to bring the total down. Here are some eligible Wii U games for the promotion:

  • Yoshi’s Woolly World
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X
  • Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Wii U
  • Mario Party 10
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Pictured)
  • Zelda Hyrule Warrior (Release Date 09/26/14)
  • Bayonetta 2
  • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
  • Splatoon

Note: Make sure your account has the required points according your original order otherwise your order will be cancelled due to insufficient points when fulfilling your order. Also make sure that you see “Earn For Next Order $41.05 in points” in your order summary page. Otherwise you are not getting it.

If you have other questions about the deal, be sure and see the SlickDeals thread where people are reporting success at ordering not only Wii U games, but other games as well.

    Kmart still exists?

    • Justin Thiessen

sorry, just saw your comment now.

      • Phaz0n

lol! it’s all good in the neighborhood

    • Nintendo Fan

      Yes. Yes it does.

    • Keith

      Wow, how original. Pathetic!

      • Merry_Blind

Pathetic? YOU are the pathetic one here, I can’t believe you called out everyone on that joke to tell them how ‘pathetic’ and stupid they are. Seriously dude, it’s a joke, no need to be all bitchy and pissed about it.

        • clownshoes1982

KMart had to cut costs, so instead of advertising, they just send this guy around the internet to let people know they’re still around.

          • Merry_Blind

LOL it seriously looks like it. People sometimes… sigh

  • Justin Thiessen

    Kmarts still exist?

    • Nintendo Fan

      Uh… yeah.

    • Keith

      Way to be original Timberlake!

  • clownshoes1982

    Kmart still exists?

    • Nintendo Fan

Yes. They’re all over the place.

    • Keith

Geeeeeting old, fast. Kmart has over 1,500 store’s nationwide. Sure, their a struggling giant but they are definitely far from being extinct.

      • clownshoes1982

        Keith still exists?

        • Daniel Gonzalez

          They’re a dying breed, sadly.

  • Merry_Blind

    Kmart still exists?

    • Keith

Ugh….another troll trying to be funny.

      • Merry_Blind

        LOL wow really?

I didn’t know joking around with other fellow posters was ‘trolling’. When I came to this article, the only two comments there was were “Kmart still exists?” so I thought it would be funny to continue the chain.

Sorry to have bothered you with such a mundane and trivial comment.

  • Juilen Cardenas

Lol everyone is like KMART STILL EXISITS!!!

    • Keith

      Yeah, it’s annoying lol

      • Merry_Blind

Why is it annoying? Pretty sure Juilen Cardenas thought it was funny.

  • Juilen Cardenas

Lol, anyway. Is splattoon going to be a full priced game? Not a eshop game?

    • jjbredesen

      Yes it is

    • The Clockwork Being

You only saw a demo at E3. Splatoon will include multiple game modes, local co-op, a great number of mapsa single player mode and multiple other content. It isn’t just cover the place with ink game mode.

  • CoolDude5

Good thing there’s a Kmart where I live!! Saving money on gaming is truly a good thing!

    • Keith

Completely agreed my friend. I love getting rewarded (paid) to shop at Kmart ;-)

  • Juilen Cardenas

Also this was on my mind lately. Is the final versions of Super Smash Bros name just going to be ssb for 3ds and ssb for Wii u? Are they not going to put a name like melee or brawl?

  • Daniel Gonzalez

I’m surprised Kmart has survived this long. Sears really screwed it up since the merger. Use to be one of the best places to shop for Christmas back in the 80’s and 90’s.

    • brian

My grandmom bought my Nintendo 64 from Sears. Oh, the memories are flooding back… “CD quality audio!”

    • nexxus6

KMart had seen its better days before it purchased Sears. I don’t think it is fair to blame Sears for the Big K’s downfall.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

I do blame them for their high prices. I believe it’s one of the factors that is killing them slowly. I believe merging with Sears, probably wasn’t a bright idea in the long term.

      • Keith

Technically, Sears was already dwindling far before Kmart Corporation purchased then. In fact, after Kmart’s former CEO scandled in the early 2000 era (which ultimately led to their famous bankruptcy) they were finally posting a huge profit & growth. Even a few years after the Sears buyout that Kmart also posted a growth. Unfortunately, their hudge fund/CEO has solely focused on their membership program instead of store remodeling. That’s why most Kmart’s & Sears looks extremely dirty & run down. It’s unfortunate to see the once 2 most powerful retail giant’s in the business fall behind the likes of Walmart & Macy’s :-(

    • Keith

Your only surprised cause your just like an IPhone groupie….always gotta followed the crowd. Kmart (or even Kmart.com) has a gigantic selection, same or even cheaper prices than WalFart & you get rewarded to shop through them. Getting paid for being a part of their free Kmart Shop Your Way Rewards Member?? Yes please ;-)

      • Daniel Gonzalez

In my area, Kmart is quite bad with their pricing. As much as I don’t care for Wal-Mart, their prices are cheaper. As for the Shop Your Way Rewards, it’s not all that great, as I am one myself. Difference of opinion there, yes. What works for one person, doesn’t work for the next. By how you’re advertising for them, that groupie claim towards me isn’t working in your favor. Happy trolling, buddy(easy to tell with your obvious grammatical errors). :P

    • Keith

Still is. Prices are for the most part unbeatable along with their rewards program. As long as your okay with shopping in ther run down looking store n all.

  • http://standardx.newgrounds.com/ lilmc01

The Kmart down my street is closing XD

    • Daniel Gonzalez

I’m wondering when mine in the area will close. They barely have customers walking in.

      • RyuNoHadouken

Kmart left my area YEARS ago

        • Daniel Gonzalez

I’m sure my area will soon close. I go there once in a while, and see maybe 4 or 5 others besides me shopping. Lot of it has to do with their high prices. Sears should just give it up. They ruined what was once a good franchise.

          • nexxus6

You do know that KMart actually purchased Sears, right?

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Yeah, I know. Messed up there. Good looking out. Though, Sears success over Kmart has really hurt them. In a way, it is their fault. Just not intentionally.

          • RyuNoHadouken

            true, true

      • http://standardx.newgrounds.com/ lilmc01

That was how mine was, then they put up the “store closing everything must go, discounts” and the parking lot is full.

      • Keith

Then change that. Don’t let what people say keep you from exploring. Kmart’s prices are extremely competitive & their free rewards program has saved me numerous times. It’s nice knowing that after I shop, my Kmart Rewards card all of the sudden has like $30-$100 on their. Formula for our Little One isn’t cheap anywhere so it’s nice to have that rewards pile up when my wallet is all tied up from bills.

    • Keith

      Sad day :-(

  • Lusunup

I bet I can get that ALLL on FREE LAYAWAY!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRaoFivQYSk

  • Will.F. Martinez

Haven’t seen a kmart in so long. Though walmart replace all of them

    • Keith

No they haven’t. Your area just has too many followers & not enough leaders. Go ahead, keep shopping at your Walmarts….but be prepared to say goodbye to every independent or even corporate company who’s trying to survive in your area.

  • AkaLink77

    ?exists still Kmart

    • BeanSparrow

still exists and i haven’t one since the 90’s

      • Keith

Then you apparently live in the sticks. Over 1,500 Kmart’s nationwide & yet you haven’t seen one or better yet, even been to one sense the 90%? Doubt it

        • BeanSparrow

There use to be one here in Katy, but closed because it was overshadowed by Walmart and Target

    • Keith

      Yawning at your pathetic post

      • Merry_Blind

Holy cow dude what is wrong with you?

      • AkaLink77

        your name looks familiar…
        u a troll?
        …(likely) X}

    • AkaLink77

i was kidding by the way, i know they still exist but business isn’t good

      • Keith

Yeah, very true. Hopefully the once retail king can climb back up to reclaim their thrown from Walmart….or at the very least give them a run for their money. After the whole Target scandal, Walmarts remains far ahead of Target & Kmart.

  • rp17

Off topic but Kickstarter has suspended Areal

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1577656602/areal

    • brian

There are four individuals named Eugene on the Aureal development team.

  • Purple

    K-Mart still exists?!

    • Prizm

That’s funny, here in australia we’ve got KMart stores coming out of our ass, but you’re lucky if you ever see one in the US.

      • brian

Here in the USA, K-Mart was overshadowed by Wal-Mart a long time ago. Maybe 15-20 years ago.

  • Mr. Berzerk

Just letting the Canadians know. Superstore is selling wii minis at $75. It is no Wii U, but hase one controller included, and at $40 a piece seperatly I think it is a good deal.

  • anthony optimo

    ARRRRGGGGHHH!!! MUST GET… THEM… ALL…

  • brian

K-Mart still in business. Who would have thought? I’m kidding. We all know they’re going under along with Sears. My local K-Mart is closing, they’re having a huge sale.

  • Earthbound1228

Has this worked for anyone yet? It says the coupon doesn’t exist.

  • Sdudyoy

What happened to Wii U daily?

    • Mike

They updated the site. It looks pretty nice now IMO. I was confused for a second too XD.

      • Sdudyoy

Agreed, I didn’t expect it at all though, but it looks awesome! I wonder if PS4 daily and XB1 daily will get a update to match?

        • robjackson81

Yup… In the next couple days! PS4D as early as tomorrow.

          • Sdudyoy

Thanks for the update, it looks great, so I can’t wait to see PS4D!

      • robjackson81

Thanks! Load it up on your phone and you’ll see it’s optimized for smartphones. Responsive theme!

        • Mike

It’s responsive, all right! Other than the site cutting off at times, I didn’t really have a problem with it!

          • robjackson81

Yup that’s a little bug that slipped through that we hope to fix tomorrow AM

        • Daniel Gonzalez

Nice job. Looks a lot better than it was before imo.

    • robjackson81

We’ve now got a responsive design (try it on your phone or resize your browser window). We have also integrated ads in a more pleasing and visually appealing way and made a lot of adjustments that we think make the site look more clean, polished, and easy to read.

If you’ve got any feedback I’d love to hear it. Ashley will do a post tomorrow announcing the update so that’d be a good place.

      • MARIO’SMOUSTACH

No offence, but I personally think it looks awful now and you should change it back

        • robjackson81

No offense taken… you can’t please everybody but I have a strong feeling that 99.5% of our readers will think it’s a huge improvement. We’ve made similar changes elsewhere and that seems to be the case.

          • Adrian

Change will always be met with resistance. Honestly it was fine the way it was, but I hardly notice the change.

          • FutureFox

So far the Recommended for you popup is quite annoying. It pops up too frequently, seems like every ten seconds. On top of that it shows articles that I can already see on the same page.

          • Vettori

Agreed, Recommend for you popup is annoying as hell. We’re already here, we come here often…. Don’t spam me. I read ALL the articles =/

          • Rinslowe

That’s my only gripe with this new look. Apart from that I think it’s a definite improvement. At least the pop-up isn’t as invasive as many others out there though. But I do prefer a spartan environment more than clutter. At the same time, this new look is a lot cleaner.

          • CaptRodgers

It’s not just that it looks bad, but when not using the app I can’t even see everything on screen. That’s with a galaxy s 3, which last I checked is a pretty popular phone

          • MARIO’SMOUSTACH

Give me an example when you guys made a similar change. And by the way, it should be closer to 50/50 (who like/dislike the change) based on what I have read on the site

        • Arkamarky

          I agree

          • robjackson81

            Care to elaborate?

          • kevin nun—-

I think we all just got used to the website from before and where everything was. This new update will take a while to adapt such as like finding the article tips or top rated Wii U games among other things are harder to spot, but we will get used to it.

        • Vettori

Don’t fix what aint broken right?

      • Arthur Jarret

When I open in a full sized browser and then resize it looks fine, but if I open in a small browser window I first see a page-wide advert banner, then the three ‘popular articles’, then a lot of white space on the left side with ‘Join wii forums’, Big advert, Popular Wii U games, About the Wii U, another advert, From our partners (which include links to illegal ROMs), Another advert, Google plus, Facebook, Twitter & Youtube links on the right side.

Underneath that – the articles start.
It means I need to scroll halfway down to see the latest articles.

I’m using firefox. I will provide further feedback using my Wii U at a later time.

I like the new look though – it seems much fresher and the page looks more vibrant & dynamic.

      • Masterjoe

The site looks awful on a tablet. There is no way to get to the 3ds section, and text gets cut off on the right side of articles.

  • RyuNoHadouken

this is a dumb deal…you get $40 back in points to use on your next purchase…its not like you can take it off these pre-orders…and dont forget sales tax….FAIL

    • Keith

No, your the FAIL kid. $40 in points is $40 in merchandise you wouldn’t ever get from WalFart.

  • Dying_in_this_Crap_World

oNLY THING IS, YOU NEED TO LITERALLY WAIT 1+ YEAR FOR THOSE GAMES.

  • Toby Tatum

Has anyone got this to actually work? MAXSOCIAL75 isn’t working for me. Plus, does the $40 “off” really just mean a credit towards your NEXT purchase? That’s not the same thing as buying 2 games for $35 each as the title implies. Seems like there’s a lot of hype but not sure it actually works.

    • Gordon Blakey

Not working for me either. Tried several times only to get the message “We’re sorry, that code below doesn’t match one in our system. Please check the code and try again.”

    • Gordon Blakey

I guess the Blue Light Special isn’t so special anymore :(

    • Keith

No, the $40 off is just $40 off the pre-order. Mine worked fine. Have you tried calling their customer support??

      • Toby Tatum

Hey Keith – thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I just called Kmart and the representative was not very helpful. Still, my understanding is that the $40 only applies to the NEXT purchase. When I got to the payment screen, the option to apply “Shop Your Way” points was grayed out for the CURRENT purchase, but it was available for my NEXT purchase. But that means I would have to pay $120 + tax for 2 orders of Smash Bros. U, and only get $40 on a future order. Hope that makes sense – blessings!

  • Guest

    Kmart still exists

  • Arkamarky

    Kmart still exists?

  • Keith

I told ya all, Kmart is the place to shop. I mean, who doesn’t love to be rewarded for buying your favorite Games?? Let alone merchandise. Go Kmart!!

  • FutureFox

    K-mart is in Hyrule.

    • Keith

      lol nice

  • lavalamp

I think it looks terrible, and doesnt jive with the browser I like to use on my phone. May not be back. Sorry

    • Mike

That’s only a bug. A mod told me earlier that it’ll be fixed be morning.

  • Armaggedon16

  • ahollis

“We’re sorry, that code below doesn’t match one in our system. Please check the code and try again.”

Doesn’t seem to work as of 7/24/14…

  • Keith

Hmmm, that’s weird. Mine worked. Have you tried calling their customer support?
