Here’s a quick look at Bayonetta 2’s GamePad controls [VIDEO]

Bayonetta 2 releases this October and if you’re one of the fans patiently waiting for that day, you’ve probably got questions about how well the game controls using the GamePad only. Despite numerous demos of the game being playable at event shows like E3 and PAX East, almost always the game is played with the Wii U Pro Controller. So how do the GamePad controls work with the game? Check out the above YouTube video and have a look for yourself.

Why would this be implemented in a action game? doing everything with the flick of the finger what is this injustice gods amoung us on mobile phones!?!?

    • Petri

Well, there was immortal marionette in Bayo 1, I suspect it makes an appearance on this game as well.
It’s not like this takes anything away from you, or that you have to use it, its good for people that likes that kind of control style.
Can’t say that I know any, but it still does not hurt anyone.

      • Lusunup

“its good for people that likes that kind of control style.
Can’t say that I know any” like I said then why would it be implemented?

        • Petri

          Because they could?
This play style only helps disabled, and casual gamers.
Actually this could be perfect for my wife, she just simply can not operate twin sticks and 8 buttons at the same time. She’s not disabled, just haven’t been able to get her grasp the conception of control with 3D games yet
But more options can’t be a bad thing. I never used the immortal marionette on Bayo 1, even though it was available at start.
And as long as devs don’t come forth and confess leaving something out to shoehorn the touchscreen controls in the game, I do not care if there is the option for it.
And frankly, I can not think of a feature for the gamepad, that would actually add to Bayonetta.
Maybe shortcuts for number of weapons sets,
sometimes felt like 2 was not enough.

          • darkcreap

I agree with you. I didn’t like DKC Returns due to the fact that wiimote was compulsory and I played DKC back in the SNES days, so the movement control of the Wii didn’t work too well with me. I never finished that game due to that.

DKC Tropical Freeze on the other hand lets you choose a more SNES-like scheme, which is nice for me. You can also use the Wiimote scheme if you prefer.

    • Yen

I don’t see what being an action game has to do with anything. I can say I don’t see the point of an action game where you do everything by pressing a few buttons on a controller. How is that actiony?

      • Lusunup

I don’t you’re point what are you coming at? serious……

        • Yen

I assume you meant you don’t see my point.

You asked why would this be implemented in an action game, and mentioned flicking of the finger. I just meant that it’s no less actiony than sitting on your couch and mashing the A button to attack things.

  • Petri

Sweet, I wont use it though.

  • Capt. Smoker

This is a reason I don’t like the gamepad outside of offtv play and browsing, I just don’t find all these touchscreen gimmicks appealing or fun, I probably won’t be using this feature…

    • Mayoo

You said it yourself, gimmicks. I agree 100% with you.

    • matthew garcia

      I completely agree with u

      • ben

What a shock.. You agree with something negative.

        • Capt. Smoker

I’m not trying to be negative, I think this game is great, but stuff like this just doesn’t appeal to me

          • http://ejercitogeek.net/ Mercurio2054

well, you don’thave to use it

    • Yen

If they hadn’t done this, people would just be complaining that they did nothing with the gamepad.

      • matthew garcia

This is true also but Nintendo themselves neglected the controller so much.

        • Yen

I think it was done well in Pikmin 3 and Mario U. I use the gamepad often so mine at least isn’t neglected.

          • matthew garcia

            It’s pretty cool with Netflix

          • Dark Lord Sauron

dont forget mario kart 8 the gamepad is awesome on that one too

          • steveb944

            Awesome? It’s pretty much useless.

          • Rinslowe

This is kind of true. Mario Kart 8 doesn’t really utilise the gamepad in any truly functional way. But that’s really not saying anything except it literally does not use the gamepads touchscreen uniquely. It’s still Mario Kart. And it’s still a great experience.
I view third parties in the same way. Like some others here, I don’t believe a game needs to utilise the gamepad unless the studio intends to utilise the gamepad. I won’t place demerits on a multiplat because the studio decided to stay true in most part with the source material, instead of adapting their game to use the controllers features. Not every time doing so will result in a better experience.
Basically it’s there. And Nintendo should be the one to open up the possibilities more than outside studio’s first. But even if they choose not to for any given title. Gamers should be more observant of the game itself and judge it’s merits based on the experience as it is…
If it’s lacking from the get go, I can see how people may in turn relate some of that to lost gamepad integration potential. But like COD Blops 2. I thought the small gamepad inclusions worked fine.

        • Rich Garriques

why do you think that , how dumb are some of you gamers? , why would nintendo make a console that is soley made for the gamepad controller and neglect it. think about how stupid you sound

          • matthew garcia

Ok Wii u has been out for what almost 2 years so in that time It should have a decent size library. Name me 7 games that have used it in a effective way that are made by Nintendo

          • 504HotBoy

            Give it a rest Matt.

          • matthew garcia

Lol he asked me a question. Am i not allowed to respond?

          • 504HotBoy

You know what I’m talking about.

          • matthew garcia

Read his question and then you will know what I’m talking about

          • 504HotBoy

I read his question before I even told you to give it a rest. I also read some of your comments. Let me ask you this. Do you think the Wii U gamepad is a gimmick?

          • matthew garcia

No I think it’s a great idea. I think they developed it knowing that mobile gaming was gonna be big and that it would work great with there 1st and 3rd party games. Problem is nobody jumped on it the way developers jumped on the motion controls and that left Nintendo in a bind. That left Nintendo having to make games faster cuz they didn’t have the 3rd party support they thought they would have. When they had to make the games faster they had to leave out functionality with the touchscreen which is supposed to be there biggest advantage

          • 504HotBoy

I have to give credit to you. That was a good answer and I totally agree with you. You surprised me after all. Guess you’re not the evil Nintendo basher I thought you were.

          • matthew garcia

No man I have to many great memories with Nintendo. I have played every Zelda game in existence. The first one I ever played was links awakening on game boy and ever since that has been my favorite franchise along with other Nintendo games

          • 504HotBoy

Yeah the Legend Of Zelda is my favorite franchise of all time as well.

          • matthew garcia

My top 5 franchise would be in this order. Zelda, metroid, metal gear, final fantasy, half life

          • 504HotBoy

Mine would be Zelda, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Metroid, Resident Evil.

          • matthew garcia

            That’s a good list

          • Jonathan Robitaille

            NintendoLand
            Pikmin 3
            Super Mario 3D World
            Game & Wario
            WindWaker HD
            Wii Sports Club
            Wii Party U
            Dr. Luigi
            Art Academy

Those use the gamepad in the sense you are probably thinking. But you forget that most titles also use it in the often forgot about capacity as off tv screen like NSMBU/NSLU so that list grows to include that function as well. Still others use it in the way it frees up the HUD.

            That felt good

          • matthew garcia

That’s actually a good list. There are only a few of those games that are system sellers though which are the most important. You definitely said 7 games though. My bad you actually said 9

          • Jonathan Robitaille

hey, I can’t argue that Nintendo has successfully demonstrated the gamepad. They could have done a way better job…first..by launching with SM3DW and Wind Waker. But where I really think they could have helped was with COD. Whether you as a Nintendo consumer like COD or not…millions do, and a way to entice them might have been showing the gampad’s use i.e split screen co op with one on gamepad and one on TV. That is a defining feature that they should have taken upon themselves to promote way more than they did. Granted it might not have made a whole lot of difference but when I told some of my buddies about it they thought is sounded cool. Of course, if 3rd parties actually optimized their versions of games so there weren’t framerate drops and made them shine on the Wii U instead of being straight up PS360 ports maybe Nintendo would have been more proud of these examples and promoted better.

We all know they should have had their games like Pikmin 3, WindWaker HD, SM3dW (semi system sellers) ready at launch. And if they had, there would be way less backlash about the lack of gamepad functionality. Oh well, all they can do is try and keep their Mario Kart 8 momentum going and hope people finally come on board

          • matthew garcia

Once x and Zelda come out I will fully be on board for sure. I guess I’m just critical cuz I havnt got what I wanted yet lol

          • Jonathan Robitaille

I hadn’t played video games since the SNES (had a PS3 for a bit and 360) until I got the Wii. I never played TP, WW, SS, OOT or MM so I immediately tried TP and got half way through but wasn’t all that impressed. But I’d like to finish it some day. SS was awful IMO. When I got WWHD I was blown away. It made me realize why people are fanatical about Zelda. Did you not enjoy this? To me it’s one of the best games I have EVER played and easily my favorite on the Wii U. I am hoping Zelda U is as good. I plan on getting OOT for my 3ds to see what all the fuss is about. People claim that’s the best ever. I am eager to see why.

          • matthew garcia

Wind walker was awesome and your right skyward sword wasn’t that great to me neither. Ocarina of time seems to be the darkest and most dramatic of the bunch. Links awakening on game boy is my favorite lol

          • 504HotBoy

I think Twilight Princess is more darker than Ocarina Of Time. A Link To The Past was my all time favorite Zelda.

          • matthew garcia

Yeah it’s hard to say for me between twilight princess and ocarina of time. The game looks darker for twilight princess but I think the story is darker for ocarina of time. A link to the past was great for me also. The game boy ones were so clever to me though. Links awakening , Oracle of seasons and ages were so cool. I didnt like minish cap much cuz it was shorter then I wanted but it was still a good game

          • Jonathan Robitaille

would you suggest playing OOT on the 3ds? My hand cramps up on it when I play for long periods of time so wasn’t sure.

          • Rinslowe

Either or. It’s a little spruced up on the 3DS version. But as far as being the no’ 1 Zelda of all time. It’s really difficult to convey that to someone that has more modern Zelda’s to compare with now. For what it is. Taking into consideration “when” it was made and the features and mechanics included at that time. Absolutely it is deserving of the title. Again, taking it for what it is…
If you go into the game just looking to be told a story. OoT will definitely not disappoint. Again, be objective in regards to the game and when it was released originally. And you’ll probably be more forgiving of certain aspects we take for granted today or that may seem a little outdated…

          • 504HotBoy

            Yeah go for it!

          • 00EpicGamer00

I honestly think the people that claim OOT is the “best Zelda ever” are a little stuck in nostalgia mode. You see, the first Zelda I ever played, was Twilight Princess. And I thought it was really awesome and I wanted to try more Zelda games. I tried Skyward Sword…absolutely hated it. I think wind Waker HD is really good too. But, before I played WW HD, I played OOT on the 3DS. And…I honestly wasn’t really THAT impressed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good game, but I expected a little bit more for a game known as “the best Zelda game ever.”

I also tried the Minish cap and Links awakening by ROM, and those were awesome! I think those two are my favorite. I’d like to see an HD remake of those two on the Wii U.

Epic Gamer, Lord Gamer, Outspoken Gamer, Gamer Freak, Daniel Gonzalez…

          • 00EpicGamer00

            Hmmm?

        • iago parrot

I joined the site to find other people who like Nintendo but have found it infested with Nintendo hating trolls like that Garcia and the other clone, can someone suggest to me a nice Nintendo site with a better community?

          • matthew garcia

            You can try Nintendo life.

          • Jonathan Robitaille

yeah, there are a few on here that are maddening. It’s very hard to ignore their constant trolling but if you can wade through it you will find like minded Wii U fans here.

          • Epicstuf

Fuck off you ass. Now I am following you.

      • Capt. Smoker

Yeah they would, people complain about everything though, I ain’t too fussed so long as it ain’t mandatory, I would of thrown Wonderful 101 under bus if it made me draw all time, hated when there was a puzzle and i had to use gamepad, felt awful and really took away from the fun.

    • Superxtreme

agreed, but I might use it when I’m lazy.

    • FoxMulder900

I agree, but I absolutely love having maps and inventories on the GamePad. I’m sure we won’t see touchscreen controllers in future generations since everyone hates it, but I am really going to miss the features that do work well.

      • Yen

Do people really hate it though? Tons of people seems to think mobile device games are the future and those are pretty touch screen heavy.

        • http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008SRISGU#reader_B008SRISGU Adam Howell

I don’t think wii U owners hate it. Fanboys of other consoles and people who’ve never played on one may hate it. At least the vocal ones on the internet.

Some Nintendo fans are under the (Mistaken) belief that removing it will allow Nintendo to drop the Wii U’s price significantly and suddenly the wii u would be a hugely successful console. But that doesn’t mean they hate it.

        • matthew garcia

I don’t hate it it’s just the tech of the touch screen seems outdated. Also the camera on it looks like a vga camera from a old razor phone. I think people look at cell phone and iPad tech today and then they look at the Wii u gamepad and it just looks cheap

          • Yen

I can see that. Personally I think phones don’t need to have the amount of tech they do now days. I have a smart phone for the heck of it but I never find myself using the features they have. For example, I know I have an HD screen on mine and can watch videos in high quality, but why would I when I have a desktop or laptop or even a Wii U that can stream on a much bigger screen? I’ve seen people watching videos on their phone when they’re sitting at their desktop and it just seems a little silly.

          • matthew garcia

Yeah people just got spoiled by the tech so much now that anything less is unattractive

          • Capt. Smoker

I always wondered this, I always get people laughing at my moto g “your quad core processor isn’t as good as mine! mines clocked at 1.9ghz, yours is only 1.2ghz”, I just sort of think “why do either devices need a quad core processor in the first place” o.0 is it just me?

          • darkcreap

The more processing power you can get, the better. Nevertheless, it is not raw numbers that make everything. You can have two phones and one of them can have faster RAM, faster processor and still perform worse. I read an evaluation between two models from different vendors and the paradox was that the phone with the lowest numbers performed better.

When the WiiU appeared, I read that the PS3 and X360 had better memory bandwidth than the WiiU, but the problem with (I am not sure) the PS3 was that there was another bottleneck in the architecture that prevented it from taking advantage from its higher memory bandwidth.

In this sense, the WiiU has less memory bandwidth (I mean RAM), but performs better. Actually, in some things the WiiU has lower numbers than the PS3 and X360, but still gets better performance because it is engineered to be efficient and for all its parts to work great together. It doesn’t matter how good your raw numbers are if other parts of the console are lagging.

You can engineer something and just put faster components to make a better console or actually take the time to design smartly to use less powerful components and yet obtain the same or better result.

          • Rinslowe

If it works in use then how is it outdated exactly? Sure it could have been capacitive with multitouch. But when it’s used right it just works.
Just the fact of having off tv play and hud less main screen gaming is a winning factor. Together with how easier it is to navigate menus, write messages and do couch based web browsing validates the tech.
I wonder, in how you continuously describe aspects of the controller or the console if you’ve genuinely played the thing. I do realise you claim to own one yourself, but I have my doubts…

          • matthew garcia

Yeah I know what you mean. The controller works fine to me but I’m just referring to the buyers out there that are spoiled by tech and would find the controller cheap. Everybody seems to Want the latest and greatest these days. Seems to be the way a majority of people think. I’m sure this has contributed to some of the bad Wii u sales

          • Rinslowe

You’re getting worse with your trolling, honestly.
” I’m just referring to the buyers out there that are spoiled by tech and would find the controller cheap”
Who are these multitudes of people that you’re referring to that have no names, no faces or proof of their ever existing? Just saying…
Please don’t ever assume my replies to you are serious. I personally think you’re a genuine moron. It’s impossible to have a serious discussion with a console warrior fanboy. Who’s always finding ways to make shit up. Lol.

          • matthew garcia

Thanks for your kind words lol. Just saying Wii u has a bad rep. I’m sure there are many things that contribute to Wii u’s problems and I’m pointing out that this is one of them

          • Rinslowe

            Haha.
            :)
Kind is irrelevant. But at least it was my honest opinion.
Everything else you “think” you’re pointing out while actually just exercising your general stupidity and console warrior dribble is just, meh…
Don’t stop on my account though soldier. I have no personal issue against your opinions. Only that they are ridiculously lacking in any factual basis 99% of the time. But no big deal, carry on.

          • matthew garcia

Hey pick on Magnus today lol his comment was pretty harsh :)

          • Rinslowe

I can just talk to the guy on Miiverse. Or you’re referring to the Magnus who isn’t really Magnus, lol…

          • matthew garcia

You know what I’m not sure. Is the Magnus who posted under me the same Magnus that I’m familiar with?

          • Rinslowe

No he’s not the same guy…

          • matthew garcia

Oh ok.havnt heard from him in a while then. His a cool dude

          • 00EpicGamer00

Have you been living under a rock or something? Almost everyone on planet Earth wants the newest thing, when it comes to technology. For example, look at all the blind sheep that go out and buy the newest smart phone. When, it’s basically the exact same phone from the previous one. I’m not sure where you live, but this is basically America in a nutshell.

Also, would you give the guy a break? I’m tired of seeing you two fighting all the time. Why do humans want to fight so much? Especially over something so pointless. “Yeah! I won a fight on the internet!” Okay, how is that going to help you? Are you going to put “Won a fight on the internet against Matthew Garcia” on your job application? Good luck with that.

          • matthew garcia

Lol I am his number one target

          • 00EpicGamer00

He IS. My goodness what did you do to piss him off so much? Lol. Sheesh, it seems whenever you post something, he’s right there, the first person to respond. And what I don’t understand, is it started out all good here, than as soon as you said “I’m referring to the buyers out there that are spoiled by tech and would find the controller cheap” (which is true) that’s when everything went downhill.

And what’s funny, is that I know good and well that he knows there are people like that. But he decided to ignore, basically a fact in this day and age, just to bash you. Maybe that wouldn’t be a “fact” if it was, like…1990 or early 2000,s. But this is 2014. There’s millions of spoiled, not only adults, but children too.

          • matthew garcia

It’s all good man I don’t think I ever offended him personally to begin with. He just started lashing out at me from one day to the next. I guess it was just cuz of my views on Nintendo. It is hilarious when someone curses you and and calls you a Moron over a video game opinion lol. I am guilty of insulting him and calling him shit back though but I never look for him to start a fight

          • 00EpicGamer00

I don’t understand why someone would be so upset over your views on Nintendo. I like the fact that you’re not afraid to speak what’s on your mind. Even if you know that some of what you say will bring, well….”negative attention.” It’s not like you’re sitting there bashing Nintendo. There’s just things about Nintendo’s decisions that you don’t agree on. And you say positive thing about the company too. Not just negative…. which is what allot of the people here thinks.

          • matthew garcia

Yeah man I definitely expect the insults. Trust me if this was the snes era all over again I would have nothing but praise for Nintendo but this is a different era and big mistakes have been made and I just like to express my opinion. I would love to see Nintendo have the glory of sales and 3rd party again like they had on snes. I just know they can do better. I also realize the competition can do a lot better and stop with the rehashed games

          • Rinslowe

Haha. Typical blsht. Console warrior fanboys acting like everybody else is the fanboy. Sony/ MS Nintendo it doesn’t matter you’re all the same type of crazy…

          • 00EpicGamer00

What is your problem? God. Where in my entire post did call all the people on this site fanboys? Absolutely nowhere. I’m am also not a fanboy at all. I used to be a Nintendo one, like….about a year or two ago, until I took logic to the brain. Smartened up and bought a Sony console.

You’re going completely off topic too. My post wasn’t at all about retarded console wars.

          • Rinslowe

Self explanatory really isn’t it. And you’re quite delusional. That or your crush on Mathew Gonzalez has you talking crazy lately.
            lol…

          • matthew garcia

I honestly never really understood insults on the internet. Its like the person is not even in front you. Its easy to insult online and I think this has contributed to wider range of disrespect to people that they have never even met to judge personally. If that’s the kind of person that you are I find that embarrassing. I understand differences in opinion whether it be games, movies, music, sports or whatever but I never held it to a standard to judge somebody. We will never meet and that makes these insults meaningless to me. I much prefer to here it in my face. Everyone tries to be something on the internet that there not in person.

          • Rinslowe

“I honestly never really understood insults on the internet.”
“If that’s the kind of person that you are I find that embarrassing.”

            As I was saying…. “delusional”
            Lol.

          • matthew garcia

I can’t read what I said. Did you take pictures of my comments or something and posted them lol

No research needed. Lol. You replied those comments to me, haha…
As far as not being able to read what you’ve read. I won’t even try to debate that. It goes hand in hand with you being a lunatic.

“Like I said it’s the internet who cares about what I say or you say.”
Lol. That’s right. Fall back to whatever you need to fall back to…
            :)

I’m not sure why everything is blurry but i can’t read it and if it was me insulting I’m sure it was cuz you insulted me 1st. You won’t put your comments but you will show mine lol. I really don’t have the time to go through all are stupid comments. I appreciate epicgamer and I have a few friends on here whether it was Daniel, epicgamer, author Jarrett. I know it’s people you don’t like but I never here of anybody refer to you as a friend and I’m sure that’s for good reason. Nobody cares about what you have to say on the internet and I’m sure in the real world also lol. Good day I have to clock into work now

          • Rinslowe

“‘m not sure why everything is blurry but if can’t read it and if it was
me insulting I’m sure it was cuz you insulted me 1st. You won’t put your comments but you will show mine lol.”

That’s because I’m not the one preaching “I art better than thou-est ness”, lol…
            That’s all you buddy.

            Again… jpg…

          • matthew garcia

Ok one more post lol.I can’t read It. I hit to view it but I can’t the comments are to blurred out. Not sure why there coming out that way but oh well lol

          • Rinslowe

” Nobody cares about what you have to say on the internet and I’m sure in the real world also lol.”
You sound like a real mummies boy Mathew. My fwends…

            :)

          • 00EpicGamer00

The immaturity is really strong with you, huh? I’m afraid you’re the delusional one here. You brought up console wars and fanboy nonsense, which is what I was never talking. I don’t have a, I guess what you kids these days want to use as an insult, “crush” oh him. He’s basically my friend on here. And I’m tired of seeing you basically bullying him. Seriously, KNOCK IT OFF!

          • Rinslowe

Says the guy hurt and upset. Huffing and puffing like a child…

          • 00EpicGamer00

I think you don’t know what maturity means, hahah. At least I’m not insecure and bullying people, like you.

          • Rinslowe

“I think you don’t know what maturity means,”
            Please do elaborate.

          • 00EpicGamer00

Hahahaha, just wow. I’m literally laughing so hard right now. What I don’t understand, is how you think I am a “baby.” When baby’s do NOT have enough mental capabilities to go on the internet and type full out scentences. I think you need to go back to school, and take another health class.

          • Rinslowe

“Hahahaha, just wow. I’m literally laughing so hard right now.”
You’re obviously not. You “are” reaching for straws here though. Good luck with that. I never implied you were a baby. I’m fully aware you’re much older. Which makes you using a pacifier that much weirder. But I wasn’t judging on account of “that” particular point. Each to their own as they say…

            :)

          • matthew garcia

Lol you had to have been bullied in the real world like school or something. Only people like you act tough on the internet cuz that’s the only way you can. Yeah hide behind your keyboard forever :) I’m not sure where your from but here in houston Texas it’s night time already and I’m ready for bed. Peace out

          • Rinslowe

“Only people like you act tough on the internet cuz that’s the only way you can.”
            Lol. True Story.

“I honestly never really understood insults on the internet.”

          • 00EpicGamer00

Don’t doubt. I was literally laughing. And your post made me do it again. XD
It’s hard not to laugh to someone so pathetic like you.

Nope, you did imply that I was a baby and/or toddler. You do realize that a pacifier is for like….I don’t know…ages 1-4. I’m just saying, I am way past that age limit. Your maturity is WAY to low. You need to go back to school and let it rise. It’s kind of sad that I’m probably younger (though from the immaturity your showing here, I could be older) and more mature than you.

I knew you were a bully. So, what happened to you? Did you yourself get bullied in school, so you’re releaving your frustrations by bullying people on the internet?

          • Rinslowe

“You do realize that a pacifier is for like….I don’t know…ages 1-4. I’m just saying, I am way past that age limit.

I know! That’s what got me too. Like I said, a little weird to still be using a pacifier at your age, right? But that’s cool. We all have our vices…
            o_O

          • 00EpicGamer00

Oh, you mean your vice is being an insecure person and bullying people? Not only that, but your racist, and sexist.

You know, through the whole 5 days of this pointless war, I’ve been productive and got my learners permit today. Just saying it was nice of you to give me something to laugh at and be entertained by whenever I was feeling stressed about the whole thing.

          • Rinslowe

            “you’re racist and sexist.”

Well, I guess you wouldn’t be a friend of Garcia’s if you didn’t play the Racism or Sexiest card at least once. Desperation is a theme obviously.

“Just saying it was nice of you to give me something to laugh at and be entertained by whenever I was feeling stressed about the whole thing.”

That could be the most genuinely tragic thing I’ve read all week. Clingy and needy. Surely there’s better ways to spend your one hour of internet time where you’re admitted..

          • 00EpicGamer00

Nope. You’re racist and sexist. You don’t believe women exist and you’re racist towards Mexicans.

Is it so tragic to you because I’m actually doing something productive instead of wasting time? You have got to be one of the most desperate person I’ve ever seen. Bullying people on the internet because you think you’re safe behind that plastic keyboard. The most pathetic thing I have ever seen.

          • Rinslowe

“You don’t believe women exist and you’re racist towards Mexicans.”

Both wildly false accusations. Or care to substantiate…
            o_O

” Bullying people on the internet because you think you’re safe behind that plastic keyboard.

            It’s actually rubber and aluminium…

            Ok, have fun now.

          • Rinslowe

“And what’s funny, is that I know good and well that he knows there are people like that.”
            Is that a fact?

          • 00EpicGamer00

Yes. You proved it by using yourself as an example, lol. You said EXACTLY in your last post:

“I’m one of those people that prefer to upgrade because I prefer to test out the LATEST and GREATEST.”

Right there, in that one little statement. You are exactly that kind of person that is spoiled by tech! You proved to me that you’re the kind of person that needs the newest thing in technology. Don’t try back peddling or coming up with excuses.

          • Rinslowe

The point was that although I embrace technology as it is released. It does not negatively impact my impression or satisfaction of the Wii U controller while using it.
While furthering the point with the following:
            ” I honestly don’t see the connection. It’s not a tablet, you don’t
purchase it “standalone”. It’s the controller to a home console – nothing more.”

The point you’re trying to make here and the one being discussed are not the same thing. A pity that you have misinterpreted the conversation…
If you’re still in doubt, just go back a read the discussion again.

          • 00EpicGamer00

“The point was although I embrace technology as it is released. It doesn’t not negatively impact my impresiion or satisfaction of the Wii U controller.”

Well, that’s good for you. But you’ve missed one thing, that’s just YOU. You are not an example on what every tech obsessed person is. Like I said, there are people on this Earth that are spoiled by tech, to where they would look at the gamepad and think it’s cheap. If you would have no been stupid and read my longer post from before, I gave proof on that. But of course, even if you do see it, you’ll come up with some BS excuse why that’s not proof.

          • Rinslowe

“Well, that’s good for you. But you’ve missed one thing, that’s just YOU.”
That’s one more tangible example than you’ve provided…
            o_O

          • 00EpicGamer00

I DID provide an example. Again, if you were not stupid and read my longer post from before like a normal functional human being (IF that’s what you are) I gave proof to my point.

          • Rinslowe

            “I DID provide an example.”
Let me guess. It started with: “There’s “lots and lots” of people that think the gamepad is cheap cause they love high end technology” And ended with “Because I said so…”
Yeeah. Mmm Hmm. Hard to argue with that logic. True Story.

          • 00EpicGamer00

“Let me guess. It started with “lots and lots” of people that think the gamepad is cheap cause they love high end technology. That ended with “because I said so….”

Actually, nope. Again, if you would have read my longer post, you would have saw a REAL LIFE example that I gave. That actually happened.

“I’m quite confident normal human beings don’t start their comments off with an insult, only to follow by writing what looked like a draft film script.”

Wow, you’re kidding me, right? You’ve written WAY longer posts than I ever could. I write film scripts? You write novels. Also, I never started off my post with an “insult.” Not sure where you got that idea.

          • Rinslowe

            Stop the press. “REAL LIFE”…

Yet how comments later and not even a single shred of actual proof from you…

“Also, I never started off my post with an “insult.” Not sure where you got that idea.”

Hmm, sorry what were you lying?

“Oh, I’m “crazy” now? The whole point I was trying to get through your thick skull”

            You crazy fans are crazy…

          • 00EpicGamer00

Ah, ah, ah you said before “don’t START their comments off with an insult.” I never STARTED my comment with an insult. And also, “thick skull” is not an insult. If you’re offended by that, that’s just really…pathetic.

          • Rinslowe

I find it interesting how you crazies continue to preach nonsensical drivel likes it’s actually connected. Do I live under a rock? Short answer; no. I would imagine the latest and greatest are in in my own portfolio as of right now. I use the latest tech in my everyday life. And yet when I use the Wii U “controller” aka the gampad I do not suffer from such an example as you have both set out. So in the practical sense having been in the situation myself I gracefully disagree. but feel free to believe whatever you want.

“Also, would you give the guy a break?”
Piss off… You come across like a genuine tosser. Asking someone to lay off while elaborating some fictional argument, lol. You’re tired of it? Who are you?

          • 00EpicGamer00

Oh, I’m “crazy” now? The whole point I was trying to get through your thick skull, is that there’s million of people on this Earth that ARE spoiled by tech, that would look at the gamepad and think it’s cheap. Don’t believe me? Look at “Kids react Gameboy.” Most of the kids in that video didn’t like the gameboy, because it was old, outdated and “cheap” to them. There’s people on this Earth that are so spoiled by tech, that as soon as the next edition smart phone or tablet comes out, they have to go and buy it, due to the old one being “inferior” and need to have the newest thing.

Okay, I’m going to assume the word “tosser” is a typo and you meant “loser” or something.” The definition of “tosser” is: “a term of abuse for masturbation”…. I don’t see the connection. Do you have no reading comprehension? I am sick and tired of seeing you two ALWAYS in a fight. You seem to be the one that starts it too. Why can you be like normal people and ignore him? If he makes you so angry and upset, IGNORE WHAT HE HAS TO SAY AND MOVE ON! Why is that such a hard concept to understand!? I do that all the time! If I see a comment or a person I don’t like, I ignore what they have to say and move on.

It was also important, because he’s basically my “friend” on here, that I like to engage in conversation with. I don’t know him on a personal level, obviously. But I’m tired of seeing him get so…mistreated on here. If your “friend” (whether it be an internet one or a real one) was essentially getting bullied, would you sit there and let it happen? Or step in and make a stop to it?

          • Rinslowe

“The whole point I was trying to get through your thick skull”
I honestly stopped reading after that…

          • 00EpicGamer00

Proof that you fail as a human being. At least read the last paragraph. That’s the most important.

          • Rinslowe

“Proof that you fail as a human being.”
Just because it’s true for you. Doesn’t mean we’re all delusional. You crazy fanboys…

          • 00EpicGamer00

I really like how you use words that don’t make sense.

Bromance: “a close but nonsexual attraction between two men.”

Hahaha! You have NO idea how many things in that statement is incorrect. Especially the “two men” part. XD

          • Rinslowe

I’m sorry what was your point? Were you accusing me of implying you were in a “sexual relationship” with a person of the same sex?

“Hahaha! You have NO idea how many things in that statement is incorrect.”
            How many?

            “Especially the “two men” part.”
            Sure sure, whatever you say…

          • 00EpicGamer00

Well, you seem to always use words that are inappropriate or doesn’t make any sense for the situation at hand.

            “How many?”

Let’s see…I see 3/4 things. “Close, “attraction”, “two men.”

            “Sure sure, whatever you say.”

So, you think me and Matthew are BOTH men? News flash for ya’, I’m a woman. Let the mind blown begin! Remember son, you can never win an argument against a women. That’s one good thing about being one, I guess.

          • Rinslowe

So your a man who wants to be a woman? And that’s important why?
            Lololol.

          • 00EpicGamer00

I can’t believe you are THIS simple minded. Are you kidding me? I never seen someone so simple minded and stupid in all my life. Have your parents never taught you what a girl is? Do you know what girl is? I don’t think so.

So, let me get this straight. You are a bully, racist, and sexist? You’re just the whole package aren’t you? What else are you hiding?

I am an actual women. My gender IS female. I wish I was a man. I wish so much that I was born a male. But nope; fate wanted me semi-miserable.

          • Rinslowe

            “I wish I was a man.”

So either way your messed up and confused about yourself. Explains a lot. A man who wants to be a woman, who wants to be a man, who wants to be “with” a man who’s more like a woman…
Ouch. That’s a lot of baggage.

          • 00EpicGamer00

No, my gender IS female. I was born with a v***** not a p****. I also have…you know….breasts. Which is something every human female has. Even though allot of men nowadays have female breast tissue. Want proof I’m a female? I bleed once a month.

Also, if I was a male why would I wish that I was a male? I’m going to assume you are a very sexist person that thinks women can’t be on the internet, play games or do anything. Am I right?

          • Rinslowe

“Also, if I was a male why would I wish that I was a male?”

Yet another obvious question. One of your other personalities believes you’re a woman…

“I’m going to assume you are a very sexist person”

You’re free to “assume” whatever you need to…

          • 00EpicGamer00

My gender is female. You must not know what female or girl or women means. You NEED a life science class. Learn what a girl is.

          • Rinslowe

You’re like a groupy or something, it’s ridiculous… Oh. Haha.
            :)

          • 00EpicGamer00

Using words that don’t make sense again, eh? The word you’re looking for is “groupie” not “groupy.” Groupy literally isn’t a word.

          • Rinslowe

Touche’, even crazies have their moments…

          • Jonathan Robitaille

“Have you been living under a rock or something? Almost everyone on
planet Earth wants the newest thing, when it comes to technology.”

Big difference between wanting and purchasing though. Of course if money was no object we’d all have the most powerful gaming PC and every new console with all the games we want. But we can’t afford it. The people that keep buying the newest phones (my lady is one of them) have serious issues. They use maybe 10% of the tech in these things and just want to be part of the conversation and phone companies practically give them away (just have to keep using the carrier you were going to use anyway) so it’s a bad example when comparing to gaming consoles.

The PS4 is this gens obvious console leader. If you want to discuss it go to PS4Daily. If you can’t help but be negative towards the Wii U you are on the wrong site.

          • 00EpicGamer00

How am I being negative exactly? I never mentioned the PS4 at all. I like the Wii U. All I’m trying to do is defend and/or protect my friend here (Matthew Garcia). Do I know 100% if there’s people that do think the gamepad is cheap? Obviously no. But I am pretty sure there has to at least be 1 person out there that thinks that. There always is.

          • Rinslowe

” Do I know 100% if there’s people that do think the gamepad is cheap? Obviously no.

            Definitive example huh? Mmm hmm…

“All I’m trying to do is defend and/or protect my friend here (Matthew Garcia).”

That’s about the gist of it…

          • 00EpicGamer00

Again, I’m not the one being a retard and bullying people on the internet. Ever thought of acting like that in real life? No? Is it because you’re afraid you’ll get hurt or killed? Hmmm. Do you truly believe that you’re safe behind a keyboard? Guess what? You aren’t. Typing BS comments to people on the internet is just as bad saying it to them in person. Sure, you can get away with it longer via internet, but sooner or later the person being subjected to such torment will reach the breaking point, get the police involved or take matters into their own hands. They’ll hack you; find out where you live and do things to you. There’s been cases of this happening and it can happen to you.

          • Rinslowe

You’re literally insane. But I guess you knew that already. Does Mathew have a padded room just like yours?
            Perhaps you’re neighbours.

          • 00EpicGamer00

There have been cases of this happening, you know? I guess now you’re pretending you don’t know how technology works? A hacker can get every bit of info about a single person. Your name? Yep. Credit card number? Yep. Where you live? Yep. Your birthday? Yep. EVERYTHING.

          • Rinslowe

            True story. You crazies, lol…

          • 00EpicGamer00

Do you think maybe it’s time to forgive and forget? I don’t know…I recently just had this strange feeling flow through me. I can’t quite explain it but I think this “fight” has been going on a bit too long. We were both being pretty rediculious. Throwing things left and right. Making accusations that are probably not true. And I’m sorry I started this whole nonsense in the first place. I’m honestly just so tired of seeing so many fights break out on this site in particular. Even though I was part of the problem just now. I’m “sane” enough to admit that was, in lack of a better word, “dumb” of me.

Can we just like…shake virtual hands or something?

          • Rinslowe

“I don’t know…I recently just had this strange feeling flow through me.”

It’s called an epiphany. And there’s really nothing to forgive. I struggled taking you seriously the entire time…

          • 00EpicGamer00

I struggled taking you seriously too. We both said things that were reidculious.

Honestly, the actual reason why I was doing this, is because something catastrophic happened and I needed to keep that thought at the back of my mind as much as I could. If I didn’t do this, I’d probably be depressed. Like, literally I’d probably have depression right now. I’d rather look like a fool for two seconds than have depression for the rest of my life.

          • Jonathan Robitaille

The casual gamer (at least the ones that got a wii and those that got a PS2 for DVD or PS3 as mainly a blu ray) do in fact view the gamepad as advanced and innovative. It’s actually quite a solid piece of tech. If Sony had made it you and its other fanboys would be touting it as the next big thing. I doubt there is anyone who has held the gamepad at a kiosk and felt it was cheap. These are the types of comments that give you away as being a massive troll. You say these things to stir the pot. It’s ridiculous.

The Wii U not having great sales has almost nothing to do with the gamepad. Nintendo just failed to market it properly. In the eyes of the consumers it seems like a Wii peripheral and an expensive one at that. Also, the economy sucks despite the fake stock market. People are hunkering down and right now the PS360 is still providing the best value to be found. If Nintendo hadn’t abandoned the Wii and improved online, eshop, VC, and kept supporting it with games it might still be a viable platform. But they failed hardcore in that. And too many people moved on to PS360 and have bad memories of the Wii so spending another $300 on the Wii U doesn’t appeal to them and Nintendo hasn’t made them believe it’s a must buy…YET! But that tide is slowly turning. A price drop would go a long way to getting people on board.

But back to trolling. If you don’t want to be called out don’t troll. It’s more than okay to voice dissatisfaction with some Nintendo policies but this is a Wii U board and when you are constantly negative about the Wii U of course you will attract hatred.

          • matthew garcia

Do we still really have to go through this 2 days later. How do you know how I would react if Sony had the controller. Trust me Sony had there time last. You have no idea how pissed I was at Sony for making the ps3 700 dollars and they expected people to buy that shit. I talked shit about Sony then. Ps3 and Wii came out on the same day and guess which one I picked. I picked the Wii along with Zelda twilight princess on launch. People on the internet need to quit acting like they know people they never even met.

          • Rinslowe

“Do we still really have to go through this 2 days later.”
There be double standards here. Lol. You crazies are a “full bag” of a bag full of cats. Haha. It’s not ok for that guy. But it’s ok for you to continue being a moron…

Maybe hate is a strong word, but a lot of people don’t seem to be on board with it. For the record, I absolutely love the GamePad.

      • Capt. Smoker

Y’know, y’aint wrong, being able mess around with my inventory and switch items zippy quick was really appealing to me on Wind Waker, loved planning my routes too :)

    • http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008SRISGU#reader_B008SRISGU Adam Howell

There are a number of games where the gameplay is enhanced by the gamepad. Of course this isn’t going to be the case with every game.

    • darkcreap

I agree with you that a touch scheme is not good for this game, but I think that there are a lot of games for which the WiiU gamepad touch screen is great.

I also think it is good for inventory and all, apart from assymetric gaming and for competitive gaming with separate screen (Call of Duty is one great example). Nevertheless, you are right, for this game is a gimmick. The way I see it, this feature is an option for those who want a simple touch scheme and don’t like too many buttons. You make the game accesible for them.

      • Capt. Smoker

Yeah I failed to mention the inventory tricks, loved that on wind waker, but in certain games the gimmicks kinda either seem daunting or just pointless, my sister came over last week and had a go at wonderful 101, loving it till it got to the point were she HAD to use it, no other way around it, she found it more frustrating than fun.

        • darkcreap

To the point that she had to use touch controls you mean?

        • Jonathan Robitaille

that game is very difficult to learn and master though. Even Wii U owners well versed with the gamepad have troubles.

    • Merry_Blind

I’m actually impressed at how well it seems to work. I won’t be playing the game this way either, but still, props to them.

    • Magnus

Nintendo should have pulled a Microsoft and dropped the pad all together. Then cut the price with a 50-100 bucks. Every feature with the pad just feels shoehorned. The only games I can think of that pulled it off to a degree was Zombi U and Nintendoland.

      • Michael Legault

If Nintendo ever “pulls a Microsoft” someone please shoot me :P

      • matthew garcia

Hey mystery guy are you Magnus Eriksson?

    • Rich Garriques

then may i ask WHY you bought a wii u if you think touch screen controls are a gimmick?

    • Rinslowe

I get what you’re saying here. And I don’t see myself using this feature either. Those that do, it’s hard to say for what reason exactly. But it’s an interesting idea, providing a more mobile type experience on the gamepad in off tv play. To me this is a novel inclusion and people will likely go back to just using the hardware controls as that is also a feature of the gamepad which in combination with the screen makes it a unique piece of tech. Not to mention, likely a lot more intuitive in use…

  • ActivesiN

interesting idea, but I will stick to standard controls, this game is too faced paced to use touch controls

  • https://www.imthegoddamnbatman.com Gamer Mania

    I like it :D
Reminds me of the old point and click games like Sam and Max in a Modernised Game

  • Diaz

I get that the Wii U is the weakest in the generation but that looks fucken amazing.

    • Darius

Weakest doesn’t necessarily mean weak. I mean George Foreman was stronger than Ali but Ali will still tear your head off

    • JoshuaMariguez197

“Weakest” only because it is dedicated to gaming and not trying to masquerade as a PC developers claiming a game isn’t coming to the Wii U because it lacks the power to run the 8th gen engine is just blowing smoke out their ass as seen with EA.

    • Dark Lord Sauron

a least its more powerful then ps3 and 360

      • 00EpicGamer00

That’s not saying much. Though, it’d be pretty pathetic if it wasn’t.

  • John Perez

i remember reading an article that said that bayonetta 2 would include this kind of thing for the disabled. they also mentioned that call of duty included options for colorblindness

  • Sdudyoy

I doubt anyone will play the entire game like this, I have a feeling there wont be many people who use this at all, except to try it out for a second.

  • uPadWatcher

One of the most wanted games on the Wii U. Bayonetta 2 is one sexy megaton of a beast.

  • wober2

I cant wait to try combat with drawing. I liked the w101 for this, once you get good it feels really fluid. Sometimes it is easier to remember shapes and gestures then button combinations…

    • darkcreap

I liked the touch screen controls on TW101. It felt way better than drawing the Wonder fusions with the right joystick. I mean, you got good precision with it. I don’t know if touch controls will work well with Bayo 2, though, I will have to try it.

What I don’t like about TW101 is that you had to redraw a lot because some times it didn’t get the shape you wanted to draw and, in other ocassions, you got hit by enemies and you had to redraw the fusion again. That game was very contradictory for me. On one hand, there were enemies from the very first levels that would hit you because they were ultra quick and it was almost impossible to dodge them. On the other hand, there is not a punishment system. If you play on the most difficult level, you die, but you don’t lose a life. No game over. And no going backwards. If an enemy kills you, next time you encounter with it it has the same remaining life bar as just before you were killed. So, you get a completely new life but the damage you do to your enemies remains. If you suck, at worst it will take a long time to beat it, but there is no way you can lose.

Only when there were action sections in which you could die there was any possibility that you were stuck. I liked the concept of TW101, but I would substantially change the mechanics. First, better balanced enemies, next, more punishment. If you suck, you cannot beat the game. If there is no possibility of losing, if there is no challenge, it’s just boring. And for me, there is no real game if you can’t lose.

      • 504HotBoy

That’s totally true about The Wonderful 101. But in Bayonetta you do die and when you do, you’ll start back at the last check point. It’s not like, The Wonderful 101, as the case being when you die, you jump right back into battle (90s arcade style) exactly where you died at and the enemies still retain the same damage. I still have the original Bayonetta on 360.

        • darkcreap

No damage is saved? Not even from bosses? Guess I didn’t notice it since I am beating Bayonetta in the easy level.

          • 504HotBoy

I never played on easy, so it may be different. But I played through on Normal and no damage is saved. There is a check point on boss battles as well. Similar to most recent games like Castlevania-Lords Of Shadows 2 & Infamous Second Son. Where you take damage from boss and may fight a second form or it swtich to a different stage of the battle and if you die, you’ll continue from whatever form you made it to in battle, which is more like a check point. If you die in any of those forms, boss gets his energy back. But The Wonderful 101 is completely different as, they retain the same damage no matter what.

        • Petri

They might implement that for easier difficulties.
I think it could be good for beginners.

          • 504HotBoy

They probably did. But since I never play any game on easy. I didn’t know if that feature was in there. The Wonderful 101 is like that on normal though. Bayonetta isn’t like that on normal.

          • Petri

I played Bayonetta on every difficulty, just for the trophies.
Though I removed the immortal marionette on easy difficulties.
But if you died, you started from checkpoint, or from beginning of the boss.

          • 504HotBoy

Yeah that’s exactly how it is. Also if im not mistaken, been a while since I played. The main bosses have check points in their battles as well.

          • Petri

Yes, that is right, forgot about that.
If boss or stage goes through a major transformation, it is usually a checkpoint.

  • 00EpicGamer00

Is Bayonetta human? I see she transforms into a jaguar and a butterfly (she just gets wings, but still). Is she genetically altered or something? Or is this just video game logic at it’s finest?

    • wober2

      she’s a witch!

      • 00EpicGamer00

Is this a real answer or a guessing answer?

        • wober2

Well she is a witch but not sure how magic alters her body. Perhaps magic can make a genetic code and speed up time to grow the creature quickly… taking a carbon copy of the brain and growing it with in the body of a jaguar very quickly…

          • 00EpicGamer00

Oh okay, thank you. I was just confused on that matter.

          • Rinslowe

By spells and magic. As witches generally have command over certain… spells and magic.
So, transformation is likely fitting within that description as you say…
            “Well she is a witch”
            lol.

  • Rymaar

I think this game is going to flop, unfortunately.

    • Epicstuf

      How?

      • Rymaar

I think this particular game appeals to a very specific crowd, one that there isn’t a lot of amongst Wii U owners. I think it’ll end up selling similar to The Wonderful 101, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Pikmin 3, all great games in their own right but not enough of an audience to purchase the large quantities that Nintendo and its fans are expecting it will. I hope I’m wrong, because I’d love to see the Wii U turn things around!

        • darkcreap

Donkey Kong has way more audience on the WiiU than TW101 has. Especially on a Nintendo console. Neither have sold well, but TW101 has surely sold much worse.

          • Jonathan Robitaille

TW101 has abysmal sales. It’s a new IP and hard so word of mouth hasn’t spread. DK will continue to sell over the lifetime of the Wii U so as the install base grows so won’t its sales. About 1 in 10 have gotten it so far. It’ll hit 1 million plus after all is said and done, which is not bad considering the Wii U might not even sell 15 million consoles

    • uPadWatcher

How the hell you think it’s gonna flop? You’re missing the point about Bayonetta 2 besides different styles of gameplay. Don’t underestimate the franchise or Nintendo. You never know when the collection outsells the inferior PS3 port of the original.

    • Dark Lord Sauron

are you a fortune teller no then stfu

      • Rymaar

You must have the reading comprehension skills of an elementary school child. I said I THINK. It’s an opinion. I didn’t say it would come to pass. I also said if that happens it would be unfortunate which was further clarified in my next post. I think the Wii U deserves to be recognized as the unique and incredible system it is. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case thus far, and I THINK the release of Bayonetta 2 will do little to change public perception. Regardless, I will continue to support both Nintendo and the Wii U.

  • Cadrion

Couple things.. i haven’t see footage in a while and that video just sold me. Funny thing about the touch screen controls- seems to feel a lot like playing ARPG on pc with a mouse.. really made me think of that. I think B2 might end up being one of the first actual next gen games for wii u.. looks really good. I also kike to say that I’m fine with the touch screen not getting utilized- games like Nintendo land and the party games have used it really well.. i think it has its application and when it can be utilized its a really cool feature- just not as in your face as a wiimote. Still love my u.. gave had so much fun with it.

  • Cadrion

Something i just realied about this feature and i think its fantastic.. i read down there some feel its a gimmick and such.. buts here’s something many arent thinking about- what if you only had 1 hand and love video games? Don’t think its a gimmick anymore but is a way for someone like that to play this beautiful lookin game :)

  • FutureFox

If I had a Wii U and brought along on trips with me I could see myself using it assuming power outlets were nearby. The benefits of Off-tv play.

  • jhell

i probable use it one are twice

  • Daniel Carvalho

Not my play style, but I can see lots of people going for this! Good job Kamiya, on bringing a play style that not even Nintendo thought about!

  • Chase U

This game looks FANTASTIC! I’ve been back and forth on whether or not to buy it on release and I think I have come to my decision… to definitely buy this game. Graphics are great and the game style and gameplay (even if minimal amount is shown in this video) look GREAT!

  • darkcreap

I don’t get it, how do you distinguish kicks from punches with the touch screen? I have watched the video but I don’t get a thing.

On one hand, I don’t think most gamers are going to use this. On the other hand, it can provide a simple scheme for controlling for non-experienced players, which is nice. It is not a compulsory feature, so you can use it or not.

    • uPadWatcher

Two options when playing using the Game Pad and stylus– Very Easy and Easy. Those are just for those who are new to both Bayonetta games.

    • Jonathan Robitaille

I agree. If this isn’t necessary almost nobody imo will use this. It’s a cheap throw in really. This is not the type of game that should be using this

  • greengecko007

Honestly, I think this is great. It provides an optional control scheme based on the gamepad. Some people may find it gimmicky, but it’s not a gimmick that’s forced on you. The commentator calls it “a bit unwieldy” but it looked like it worked perfectly in the video. It’s just something people would have to get used to, should they choose to try it out.

    • Rinslowe

Yeah it’s a welcome inclusion for variety. I don’t see my self ever using it, but that’s not really saying anything…
The game looks superb, that’s the main point I took away from the video. Have to own this Wii U game.

  • Andrew Gonzalez

I’ll give the gamepad a try when it comes out.

  • Chris Aita

    THIS JUST IN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Au_mzRFYRY

    Editors, get on this :D

    • http://obaforums.wordpress.com DragonSilths

Is this legit? Nintendo or Sakurai plans to reveal another character so suddenly? Or hopefully it’s Ness Vs Jigglypuff in the video lol.

    • http://obaforums.wordpress.com DragonSilths

Nope, found out this is fake. The guys YouTube channel says “watch me play lets plays” and such. Man, talk about a bubble burster.

      • Chris Aita

        DAMMIT

  • perpetualentropy

  • perpetualentropy

i mean look at candace cameron on full house and look at her now you know?

  • Coffee

This is like Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword on the DS

  • Rich Garriques

TO ALL WII U BUYERS , IF YOU THINK THE TOUCH SCREEN CONTROL IS A GIMMICK WHY ON EARTH DID YOU A BUY A WII U. I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE LOGIC IN THAT.

    • 504HotBoy

The touch screen is not a gimmick. 85% of people who say that don’t even own a Wii U and the other 15% are Wii U owners. But it’s small amount of owners that feel that way. Me personally, I think it’s innovative and it adds depth and enhances the gameplay. Games like Nintendo Land, Zombi U, Deus Ex Human Revolution D.C., Batman Arkham City A.E., Lego City Undercover, Rayman Legends, Splinter Cell Blacklist, etc., shows off the uniqueness of playing on the Gamepad. It has a lot of untapped potential and I like to see it being used much more in games.

    • Epicstuf

Be quiet, caps lock fag. Plus, you have crappy grammar. And also you say the touch screen is a gimmick? So, the DS is a gimmick?

      • 00EpicGamer00

I thin, you misunderstood his “question.” He was asking us Wii U owners why we bought a Wii U if we think the touchscreen is a gimmick. He himself wasn’t calling it a gimmick.

      • Rich Garriques

where in my sentence did i say anything was a gimmick? , and what is this english class stfu. who are you to call anybody a fag when you cant even read properly. fag is a term used against gays i am NOT GAY.

    • 00EpicGamer00

Because games, maybe? Isn’t that the whole point on buying a “new” console every generation in the first place? For games, not for the gimmicks.

  • C4

No thanks will use the delicious Pro Controller :)

    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41dwqbWAydL._SX300_.jpg

    • Petri

I will use Pro Controller as well.
But only because I do not want to wear my gamepad out from all the intense action the game will have.

  • http://Instagram.com/fresh_prince_of_hyrule Dexrobo

It works with the Pro controller I believe so I guess I’ll use that. Bayonetta feels more like a button game than a tuch screen IMO.

  • Gootube Suck Ass

Nintendo’s trying to be innovative with the Gamepad and ultimately fail.
Just make a god damn console as powerful as PS4/XboxOne and make HD Pokemon, Zelda U Ultra HD, super smash bros Ultra HD, Super Mario Ultra HD and it will sold Millions like the Wii Games.

    • Deadpool U

I don’teven have the words to ddescribe how stupid you sound.

    • Epicstuf

      Oh shut up, graphics whore.

  • leo bel

THATS UR PERSONAL OPINION . MINE EVEN SKYWARD SWORD MOTION WOULD WORK JUST GREAT AND NOW WITH THIS NEW GAMEPAD AM SOLD , I LUV MY WII U BEST CONSOLE OUT THERE.
