There’s no denying that the Skylanders series made the toys-to-life concept that several companies including Nintendo are pursuing today. The series is back again this year with Skylanders SuperChargers, with vehicles now being added to the game. Activision’s CEO Eric Hirschberg tooted his company’s horn in the announcement, as somehow being first at a concept is more important than doing it right, it seems.
We created the toys-to-life category and have continued to lead it by bringing new innovations and new magic to the genre with each and every game. First we brought action figures to life, and now we’re bringing vehicles to life with Skylanders SuperChargers.
Of course, Kaos is back in the standard doing evil and the new breed of Skylanders known as SuperChargers are commissioned to help defeat him yet again. According to the announcement, there will be 20 new characters and the same amount of vehicles to purchase.
