During today’s Nintendo E3 press conference, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime announced a partnership between Nintendo and Activision to have two long-standing Nintendo-only characters appear in their upcoming game, Skylanders Superchargers.
Superchargers sees the addition of vehicles to the Skylander arsenal and alongside Donkey Kong and Bowser’s new appearance, the team at Vicarious Visions have developed vehicles for both characters to use.
Perhaps the most interesting thing is that the figures will be dual figures, in that they’ll work with both Skylanders Superchargers, and as a regular amiibo that will work in all Nintendo games. The base of the figure has a turn mechanism that allows you to distinguish between the two.
