Fans of Banjo-Kazooie’s style of buddy platformer have a lot to look forward to when it comes to Yooka-Laylee, a game being developed by Rare veterans originally responsible for Banjo. The team at Playtonic got a chance to sit down with the PlayStation Access guys to discuss the upcoming game, as well as showcase some never before seen footage.
According to Playtonic, the team wants to recreate the fun and whimsy of the early 90s platformers that made the Nintendo 64 a must own console. Capturing the magic of those early platformers was essential, but the team says they wanted to add new spins and bring new things into the mix to reflect a more modern game. The result will be Yooka-Laylee.
What do you think about what’s been shown so far? Are you excited to play the game?
