Indie horror adventure game Year Walk is coming to Wii U on September 17, but according to developer Simon Flesser at Simogo, the Wii U version is the best thanks to the support they had in creating not just a port, but a title that fully utilizes all of the Wii U’s unique features. Flesser recently gave an interview discussing the game, where he admits that the Wii U version is his favorite.
All versions of the game have specific things I like about them, but I think the Wii U version is the best version for me. If you didn’t know about the PC or iOS versions, you’d think “this is such a Wii U game”. Me and Magnus from Simogo and Rhod from Dakko Dakko, we like to design for specific platforms or specific interfaces.
The specific interface Flesser is talking about is the main way you’ll interact with the game on the Wii U, using the GamePad to take notes and explore the various puzzles contained within the game.
If you’re worried about having already played this game on another platform, Flesser reiterates that all of the puzzles have been reworked for the Wii U version, including a big change to the game to better reflect having the content on a big screen.
Will you be picking up Year Walk when it releases on September 17?
