With the release of the Animal Crossing amiibo cards, Nintendo is finally providing an easy way for fans to get their hands on amiibo for characters that might not get their own figurines, or for amiibo that are hard to obtain.
But just how do these cards work? They’re the same as the amiibo figurines, with a tiny RFID chip embedded within the card. In fact, the chip is so small you’ll probably have a hard time seeing it, it’s in the red circle in the image above.
Obviously the cards are a ton cheaper to produce, but then you don’t get the nice figurines to look at.
